I cannot say enough about the wonderful job Michelle did for us. My daughter is going through a messy separation and was looking for a new home...she had been pre-approved for a mortgage by the Royal Bank, but when she had an accepted conditional offer on a house, the bank pulled out and totally screwed her around...even when I came in to buy the house myself ($50k down and about 850/month mortgage payment) they dragged out the credit approval process and we had to extend financial close twice...my net worth is 7 figures and I spend more on restaurant meals in a month than the mortgage payment...moreover, my personal and business accounts are with RBC...nope, sorry, not good enough says the bank.
My agent put me in touch with Michelle, she called me back in 15 minutes (11 am)...I send her all my info...2 hours later, she calls back (apologizing that she took so long)...she tells me it's a slam dunk and she can't understand where the bank is coming from...4:30 I get a call from Michelle, approved in principle...next morning I get an email from her saying mortgage is approved. Meanwhile RBC is still screwing around and the two financial advisors I was working with left on vacation with no one holding the file. I didn't tell RBC that Michelle had secured financing...I heard absolutely nothing from them for almost 2 weeks...when they finally came back, the terms they offered were not as favourable as what Michelle had secured. I told the bank RBC manager that he and his bank could take a long walk off a short pier...and I will be moving my business accounts.
We were under a horrible time pressure due to RBC's gross incompetence...Michelle was amazing...great advice, tracked down documents that were needed, offered advice on how to deal with our situation...and...followed up afterwards to make sure I had done a number of things on a timely basis to ensure nothing fell through the cracks.
My advice? DO NOT use the big 5 banks, even if you have accounts with them...use Michelle.
