Delt with this place twice, first time was good second time was horrible, I have an older 2007 Tucson that i was having problems with(no break lights or traction control). After some research i found out there was a recall that was never done. So i get an appointment drop the car off the next she calls me and tell me the car is" done" ok great i told her i will be down soon. Gets there and she said my car is unsafe to drive, What do you mean its unsafe to drive you just told me in was done? So it turns out the car was just looked at and needed the recall done, so i wasted a trip there for nothing. So they needed to order the part in no big deal. About a week goes by and she calls me and tells me they part is in and will be done late this after noon, ok awesome, three days later after me calling a few times its finally fixed (this is my work car so i told them i needed it) , when i got there and was dealing with the paper work she told me i was a low priority because my car was "old". So it seems they only respect you there if you drive new vehicles.

Had my 2013 Santa Fe diagnosed by a certified mechanic as having the baffles gone in the muffler, Was informed by the mechanic that it was one continues welded piece from the catalic converter to the tail piece and that it would have to be replaced as a unit. Since the converter was warranted for 8 yrs or 130,00 km my car would be covered under warranty. Took the car to Capital Hyundai in St. Johns NL. and was told that it would cost me $1350.00 to have the muffler replaced as the muffler was not warranted. I explained that it was a continuous welded unit but they said they would cut it out and replace it using clamps . $ 950.00 for the muffler and @ $139.95 an hr. labour rate it doesn't take long to add up. This muffler is not available at any auto parts store in Nl I think this is a complete rip off. I bought this car new for $ 40,000 and was under the impression that if a part failed it would be replaced with the same original Hyundai part not some part cut out and an aftermarket piece put in with clamps . I will soon be in the market for a new car and you can bet that it won't be a Hyundai product with this kind of service .

Cars are reliable but the service is not good when something goes wrong. I had an issue with my car 9 months ago they ordered in the part to be replaced. They called me last week to let me know the part came in...in the time frame it took for that one part to come in I was able to list my house for sale, sell the car in question, buy a new car, sell my house, move to Nova Scotia, buy a new house and live in Nova Scotia for 2 months. Just to give you an idea how long it took for the part to come in....I'd probably look into these types of issues if you are looking to keep customers.

Will never buy a car from this place again. They were so unhelpful and uninformative. I felt like I had to pry for information and all of my questions were met with "brick wall" answers- no, rather than trying to encourage me to purchase there. Very disappointing as we had previously bought a car there too. The first time was the same experience.

This place is amazing ???? beautiful building the largest in Canada, the staff are sooo good, I still can't believe there is a Bistro on site!! With Two real deal chefs!! The food is so good and made from scratch with fresh ingredients. Best soup yet! I'm so impressed, you really need to get some food there...oh and... free local coffee, and tea for you tea bags, literally go look and get a car there or service your car, and get a cookie and free tea. Yesterday I had a slice of homemade lemon loaf..????..it was a WoW ????

*repair service review* I've brought my car here twice, knowing I'd pay more for what I assumed to be better service. The first time I had a timing belt replaced, and had to come back within a week to get it fixed again. The second time I paid a lot of money for break work, which turned out to be done wrong as well. I found this out when I went to get a noise checked out at a different dealer because I couldnt get in to hyundai with in a time that worked for me. So I had to pay to get the whole job done again (for half the price) at a different shop.

Just picked up my new Hyundai Elantra GT luxury, test drove that and the awd Kona preferred Felix and Jeff both wiped down and cleaned both Rigs with germ defender so I had no worries about cleanliness. Both vehicles were great but the Elantra GT was much more fun and that ultimately made my decision. Finance process was a breeze thanks to Mike Wheaton. Thumbs up

Its a new owner now so I'm willing to bump up the rating as before when i first purchased my car someone had used it when it got detailed for the Diamond Coating i put on the vehicle almost 100 km and when the shop is only approximately 8 km away there and back there was no reason for the added km's. When I noticed the event as there was the KM's there when i started the vehicle i was told by the old owner when i brought it to her attention shared, "it must be your eyes" you are mistaken, rather than take my information and investigate it was a defensive attitude from start to finish and all my fault. So i wouldn't have given even 1 star but with the new owner I'm willing to start at 4 and we will see what the future brings!

Had issues with backup camera , took a month to get an appointment . Traveled 4 hours to get there , stayed in hotel so we could drop car in at 7:30 am . Was told we’d have it back about noon . 2 pm we were contacted that our vehicle wasn’t even in yet, and could we wait until tomorrow , , a day off work a hotel … no . Then waited 2.5 more hours only to be told that they had checked it out and they had to order a camera . We are on our 4 hour drive home now very unhappy with the service

Good day We as a society are often critical of services provided by various Companies especially Car Dealerships and I'm no different than most persons but the purpose of this E-Mail post is to give a little praise. I own a 2012 Santa Fe. It's a good car that has given me little grief in the 6 years I have owned it. It's my second Hyundai. I drove a 2006 Elantra for 12 years before it died on me. I'm not complaining 12 years is pretty good for a Car in Newfoundland. My family and I went to Florida for 3 weeks this past May (2018) when I got home I started up my Santa Fe and when I took it for a drive I noted a clunking sound coming from the front end. I had my local garage check it out Budden's Bumper to Bumper and he told me that the front spring had broken which was given me the funny sound. Steve Budden the owner advised that the repairs would cost approx $500.00 but he suggested that I first check with Capital Hyundai before I comitt as they may be able to help me. Kudos to Steve Budden he didn't charge me anything for his assessment. A truly honest mechanic. When I first spoke with Capital Hyundai they first advised that my warranty had expired over a year ago but they would check further. The end result was that both front springs were replaced at no cost to me. If a company is going to treat me that well I will in all likelihood be a lifetime customer and I will purchase my next vehicle there. Very poor service department. 1st bad experience - during an overall inspection and oil change of my car I was due for a tire rotation. Was told it couldn't be done because my lugs were on too tight. Was told when I change my tires back to summer I would need to order need studs because they would break off due to the tightness. A 60 year old man got my lugs off without any power tools and without any issues. The ordered studs were unnecessary. 2nd - was told I didn't have a tire warrenty through them since I purchased my car in gander. After talking to the people in gander they tell me it's wrong and I have full coverage. They tried to make me buy a new tire which I refused. She said she would look into the warranty but no promises it would be approved? Yet the girls in gander said it's not a problem and no charge to me since I pay for the warranty. 3rd - tire was supposed to be ordered and delivered by July 27th to the store then they would call me and set up an appointment to change it. It is now august 16th, after calling them and they have no idea where my tire is or if it was even ordered. I will not be going here anymore. I would rather pay extra money and drive to clarenville or gander where they have a much nicer and helpful staff.

Great cars, very poor service department. Took 3 hours to change tires with a booked appointment. They were storing the winter tires and didn't even bother to get them before hand. I was not informed of any of the situation and was only told that it would soon be ready. I guess soon was still another hour away. This is the 3rd mishap and I cant see myself returning there. Really wish I had better experiences there. Will consider other manufacturers when shopping for my next vehicle.

Gave the extra star for the lovely lady who sold me my car and the polite gentleman in finance. I was not impressed that apparently there is no communication between sales and service though. My car was in my ownership and purchased at the dealership to only have service question my ownership and require me to produce documents stating so. This should have been updated across the board in my opinion when selling used vehicles. Also was not impressed with having to call to look for the tires about a month later that were included in purchase as they were not available at time of sale. I ended up taking my tires elsewhere to have them put on and studded as by the time they arrived the dealer was too booked up. Since then I’ve only taken my car here once for an oil change which was included in purchase opting to take it elsewhere for anything other than warranty work.

Good service. However, if you need a shuttle to get back to the dealership to pick up your car, let them know when you drop it off. They didn't ask, and I already had a ride from the dealership. But when they called me to tell me that my vehicle was ready, there was nothing they could do to pick me up.

I have had the hardest time with Hyundai. My 2020 Kona broke down due to a recall. It has been almost 3 weeks I've gone without a car and every time I call I get nowhere. I was approved by Hyundai Canada for a rental but due to my age they told me at the dealership that I can't have one. But then when I call rental companies, I am of age to rent one.Today I called hoping to get a car for the weekend, I was transferred 7 times on the phone, each person I talked to said I needed to talk to someone else. I got so frustrated that they were just transferring me instead of listening that I ended up getting nowhere and having to hang up. I will never deal with this dealership or company again after my contract is up. Totally disgusted by the way I have been treated.

We leased an Elantra for four years before this purchase, and we've always had great service at Capital Hyundai. Years ago we had a Santa Fe and loved it too. I scheduled for service as a “Wait” appointment at 8am. Upon checking in my car at 7:50 I was told that there’s “ a lot of people ahead of you” and my car would be an hour before it is going to get in the shop???? WHY DID I BOOK AN APPOINTMENT TO WAIT??? The Comox Valley Hyundai offers very Professional, Friendly, "Above the Norm" Service to their clients... Whether you purchased at the Dealership or not they welcome you and strive to make the servicing as pleasant and convenient as possible. Depending on the day and service requirements of your vehicle it could take several hours. I have availed myself of their FREE Shuttle Service to go to Costco, out for lunch and browsing on Main Street on several occasions. A text or call lets me know when my Vehicle will be ready and I am picked up at my convenience. My Hyundai is sparkling clean inside and out, the Service Agent has my paper work ready and informs me of any concerns, next appointment is booked...and I'm on my way. Just Excellent all round Service Team and Dealership..

Not a fan of the service department. Very frustrated with what's going with our vehicle and they don't seem to care really. Their motto seems to be "is what it is" and "nothing we can do about it" Gotta love those responses! So here's an update for anyone who wants to know. I've sent in invoice claims twice now.....one for rental and one for towing charge. (To clarify capital hyundai had no loaner for 38 days and due to a shortage of rentals here in NL a rental was out of the question....which I totally understand.) First time sending these in the claims were denied by hyundai warranty due to insufficient information. So I had the towing and rental invoices revised by the companies and resubmitted to capital hyundai to send into the warranty department. Once again...... Denied. Trying to tell me that the invoices were tampered with. So unprofessional it's not funny. Capital hyundai or hyundai canada might be a great company to deal with when buying a new vehicle but as far as warranty or recalls on a used vehicle....... They desperately need some upgrading when it comes to customer service. Perhaps it's because I have a used hyundai and not a new one...... Who knows! All I know is we are out approx 1600 when all said and done when it should be covered by recall/warranty. End of rant.

I have to say we had the worse service at Hyundai in St. John’s today. We were asked to have our car at Hyundai before 8:00am this morning for an oil change and tire change . We called at 1:00pm to check on when the car would be ready and we were told that somebody would call us back in 10 minutes, well that didn’t happen. We called again around 4:00pm and we were told it would probably be around 6:00pm. and that’s when we got the call . Plus it cost $180.00 pretty pricey. So disappointing. I certainly wouldn’t rush back there. ????

In less than a year it needed 2 new front wheel bearings and new back brakes plus a brake caliper and a trailing arm bushing. We confronted our salesman who basically just shoed us away and didn't really care. They were nice to deal with initially but I feel they definitely wanted to sell us the car as fast as possible to meet their monthly quota.

It's unfortunate having to give such a low rating when it has been a 5 star dealership of mine for 10 years. I assume with the major growth in their dealership they are too overwhelmed to provide consistent and quality customer service. Maybe it's difficult to find proper staff and management in service who are able to process a warranty, or attempt help a customer Or maybe i caught them on a wrong day. And please don't reply with " we'd like to hear more about your experience......."

It was a totally new experience for us as this was a new process that Calgary Hyungia was using. They asked us a bunch of questions in regards to what we wanted for performance for reliability or workability and a few other areas they said this would give them some clarity as to what our actual needs might be. Dam they got it right they put to getter a basic package and then offered options to make it last longer. All in all it was the best put together a package where the dealership listen to the customer and heard what they were saying put the basic package together to meet the customers needs not the dealers needs. This is what I would refer to as a paradigm shift in a positive direction.

By far the best dealership on the island and soon to expand, also owned by one of the best companies around. The people here always go above and beyond to satisfy their customers, one of the main reasons it'd be the only place I'd recommend to go for a new or used car. As for when the biggest Hyundai dealership in Canada arrives here in it's place I can only imagine service will improve.
