Prompt and efficient. There is a bit of a pawn shop type stigma about non-bank lenders (which is often warranted. Capital Direct has done a good job raising the quality of service and professionalism to this type of financing.A few things the company could do to further enhance their brand, and potentially increase their business.1) Capital Direct generated mortgages are usually bundled and sold as yield product to funds. It would nice if a borrower were offered the opportunity to allocate a certain amount of money, either monthly, at payback, or intermittently towards buying back some of this high yield paper. 2) Some required legal services must be provided independent of Capital Direct and near by referrals are provided. Why not provide, on line, a list of providers which will compete for this business and include prices, turnaround time, etc. so the client has easy options. The service providers will populate the list and it would be it would be simple to put in place. Much of the service could also be concluded on line as well.

This was a good experience - Stephanie was excellent to work with. Just two things makes it not a 5, first it's advertised as 'get your money in 3 days' nope it's been a month. I totally appreciate these things take time just don't advertise and get hope up. Second, I'm out about a grand due to necessary things such as appraisal (even though the apartment across the hall JUST sold) and lawyer fees. My only piece of negative feedback is the house appraisal done by the Appraisal Company recommended by Capital Direct. I didn't have a choice of appraisal companies. I wanted to use the appraisal company I have used for years & was unable to do so. I feel the appraisal company did not appraise my home fairly as I had my own appraiser come in to an appraisal & it was appraised quite a bit higher than the what the appraisal company used by Capital Direct appraised my home at. I also know what the houses are selling for in my neighbourhood & the appraisal done by your appraiser definitely did not reflect this This affected the amount of the loan I was able to obtain. Also, the location of your office is not convenient for me to get to as it is located in Vancouver & I live in Delta. I think you should consider having a satellite office in the Fraser Valley. Other than that, I had a good experience dealing with Capital Direct.

I do not have any experience with the company as a customer. However, I applied for a job as an administrative assistant & it was an incredibly disorganized & disrespectful experience. I initially met with one of the main directors for two initial interviews & this was a wonderful experience to start - he was warm & enthusiastic about my being a great fit in the company. I voiced concerns about whether I was a suitable candidate as at the time I was at more of an entry-level position to a full-time corporate office setting, & also not having direct finance-experience, & he told me this wasn't a concern at all. I was told all about the on-boarding procedures, & told he would let his partner know he had found a "great candidate" & it was a "no-brainer" (his exact words). I then went in for a third meeting to meet his partner, which I was under the impression was to simply quickly meet him & then finalise & sign work contracts, as they had been eager about an ASAP start to I quit my old job to take on this role. However, his business partner was rather demeaning, belittling & cold. I left very confused & heard later that evening through an agency (because they didn't even have the decency to communicate this directly themselves) that they had decided to rethink what the role would be & what type of candidate they wanted. If this is how they treat people who spend hours reading books that they have provided on how their company works, & who have given up 3 days to come & engage with them I wouldn't trust them with my money or mortgage. Incredibly disrespectful & sheepish behavior - & there is an obvious disconnect between the two main business partners. Long-term I am very happy to not be working here, & am much happier now at my role doing admin at Amazon Corporate Offices in Downtown Vancouver, however this was a very sour experience that I will learn from throughout my professional life.

First and foremost this company screens calls for individuals that you are dealing with and are unable to get in touch with anyone with out giving up your first born. Finally receive a call back from someone who happens to be Greg and he yells at you for asking a question on your file. No customer service what's so ever and very unprofessional person. To simplify stay away and run if you are ever put in touch with Greg. Plus there rates are meant to make the agent and the lender a very high profit and that's why the attuides are so bad.

Wish I could give zero stars. Take my word for it and go elsewhere. They have good commercials but that's where all the good ends. The moment you walk in you quickly realize this place is poorly managed and they seem so lost and disorganized. They don't know up from down. Wrong names wrong paperwork wrong rooms wrong appointment times everything is wrong. So disorganized. Just a constant series of ongoing failures and inaccuracies. We were in need of financing to buy our dream townhouse. Our bank was unable to give us immediate approval for us to port our existing mortgage. We were not aware that the new bank rules had changed. Even for porting a mortgage, we had to go through an approval process. This worried us greatly! We are not people who leave things to chance and luck. What if our bank said, NO!”? Then we would lose our dream townhouse. We found ourselves going from being calm, relaxed, dream-home buyers to being stressed out home buyers, in two seconds flat! We tried to get financing (in case our bank said, no) with a prestigious credit union, one of the top credit unions in Vancouver. They said, “no”. We tried a mortgage broker who didn’t call us back. We also called other institutions, banks and credit unions. But they all indicated that our TDS (Total Debt Service) number was too high. If you don’t know what this is and you are a home buyer (or seller), please, it’s important you look this up. All seemed quite lost. Then I remembered the jingle from 1130 news radio. “Capital Direct dot CA”. We called and spoke with Stephanie. To say her demeanour was very calming would be absolutely correct, no exaggeration. She helped us through the process in an empathetic way. I spoke with Greg on the phone and he was equally a nice person. He laid out what our loan would detail, clearly. Their decision to accept our application was quick as well, which was SUPER important to us because we had wasted DAYS looking for financing with other creditors before we contacted Capital Direct, and subject removal was coming up fast. In the end, our bank came through for us, and we were able to port our existing mortgage without penalty. We would have had to pay a $7000 penalty if they had said, no. We are sure Stephanie and Greg were disappointed that we didn’t sign on with them, but we sure did appreciate the graciousness of their acceptance. We did not end up taking a loan from CDI. BUT WE GIVE THE WHOLE PROCESS 5 STARS. Thanks for your support, Greg and Stephanie. And thanks for keeping those doors open for us. It makes us feel...safer.

Capital Direct has provided me with the ability to rest easy about being able to pay my bills and take care of my family after depleting my liquid assets after a serious car crash 4 years ago. I have not been able to return to work due to my injuries. Family has helped me stay financially afloat for the past few years but this cannot be sustained. I turned to Capital Direct for help. Greg K. contacted me within 3 business days and we discussed the options available to me. He was informative, knowledgeable, patient, and kind to me while he answered all of my questions in a language I could understand (financial-ese is not a language I speak well). The application process was simple, as was completing everything for my home equity loan. Everything was handled so efficiently and I found all of the staff to be extremely professional, while remaining personable. Lastly, I would like to share that I applied to other lending companies and the experience was anxiety fuelling. The brokers at Alpine Credits refused to process my application without having my spouse co-sign the application, even though I have sole title on my home and he and I do not share finances. Capital Direct didn't ask for anything more than MY financial information and I was approved easily with them. I was treated with respect. To summarize: Capital Direct is the place to go for your financial needs, and I am truly grateful for the service they have provided me.

I read few reviews and I see totally different opinions. I will add my negative opinion to this pot. There is a need for such companies, I agree, as banks are very strict and they do not go above certain limitations. I ended up in such situation and even my credit score (FICO) is way above 800 I could not get another loan from bank. After few phone calls we decided to take this loan from Capital Direct. We paid visit to Capital Direct office in Mississauga, Ontario to sign for it and we we were shocked few times during the process. We got to the point that we stood up and said we are leaving. I want to stress nobody lied to us, however we were not told many details about this loan. After signing few documents Sales Manager is giving us last agreement and he is on his way out telling us that now layer will talk to us. Before he left I took a look at this agreement and I found out that it is TWO years loan and interest rate for second year is much higher than first year. I spoke with him on the phone several times and he has NEVER mentioned it. I stopped Sales Manager just before he left the room and asked about it, he shrug his arms and said, oh, well, you will pay 100 dollars more. We did not have a choice, we needed this money badly and we did not have time to look for another place. It was for us too late. Now layer is entering room. Very rude, impolite. We ask questions, she is on the phone texting, not paying attention to our questions There was bunch of documents to sign and we wanted to know at least basic information what we are signing. She got very inpatient and after asking another question we got reply like we should know this stuff, this was a moment that we stood up and were ready to leave. So she finally calmed down and started paying more attention. During the initial process on the phone I asked several times is it open loan? Even at the day of signing I asked this as well. Yes, it was in the contract that it is open loan, so we can pay it off faster. Except nobody told us that if we pay off something we will be charged three months interest penalty. Do you call it open loan? I do not think so. You can pay it off in full with no penalty, just administration fees ONLY at the end of first or second year of the loan. Now le grand finale. Second year of my loan is ending soon. My financial situation improved significantly and I can pay it off in full. Now I am asked to issue money order or certified cheque for some people I do not know and send it to address I do not know. I took a loan from Capital Direct in Mississauga, Ontario and I want to issue money order or certified cheque to Capital Direct not two unknown names. Also I want personally deliver this money order or certified cheque to the office in MIssissauga, where we took the loan, and get somebody to confirm it. As I said nobody lied to us, simply we were surprised by many things along this process so we do not trust Capital Direct. My recommendation is before you sign any loan with any of this companies read reviews, comments, ask a lot of questions. I hope what I wrote will help you people to know what to expect and what to ask. I hope I will never need to take such loan again. Andrzej Pasadyn

This spring I was paying my utilities at City Hall for my property and home in Boundary Bay where I've lived since 1993. My late husband and I moved here from Vancouver. I've lived in and kept up my home, mortgage free, since he passed in 1994. This March when I paid my Utilities I wanted to defer my property taxes as usual. The office manager told me I hadn't paid last year and I owed $6700! I was very upset because I thought I was totally up-to-date. My experience with them was terrible...I have properties with really good equities, they did not approved me for 40k. Greg is very unprofessional, no communication, no follow ups... he did not even get back to me to say we are not giving you the loan.I had to phone the office several times and after 2 days of calling, somebody else said that I'm not approved ..they are lacking in "customer service" big time.
