I was greeted promptly upon my arrival. I needed a bank draft and was referred to a teller immediately. Harman M. assisted me with my transaction. He was very professional and efficient. Compared to my experience with BMO on the same day (prior to this appointment), this branch seemed to be much more efficient at getting things done. I was stuck in line for 20 minutes at BMO before the teller who was on "COVID-screening duty" at the front door finally returned to working her teller duties after 3 people in line stood there (for 20 minutes) behind a customer who had a technical issue with her account (not a banking matter).
Never call back for voicemail and very hard to reach them on phone always goes to VM... they don't have any ethics for Customer service
I find this place always helpful, don't know about others. Never gave me hard time nor had any bad experience. Thank you
Very welcoming staff . Always nice to customer
Great bank, top notch customer service.
Nice bank with good advisors but the few members of customer service are very disrespectful. Pointed the customer on door in front of me to not enter as she didn't have mask but the way she signaled her in a wrong attitude and way, was something that bothered me. Didn't answer call for 5 times in the working hours, not lunch time.
Manager Peter and clerk Bill helped me through a situation today and even offered to go above and beyond. Thank you both for your help, my family and I very much appreciate it.
Such a weird location Staff doesn't knw wat they doing Wasted an hour for chequing account only
Very poor customer service.
I would to say This bank is a joke! Customer service is nothing than excusses The bank mamager doesnt call back and when a machine takes money from your account and doesnt give what a run around This says lots about customer service and how good they are What a joke ! I dont think ignoring cusomers problems and giving excusses good customer service This bank is does nothing for thier costomers and are rude and slow Years ago it took 3 business days to clear a check now it taks 5 plus To solve a problem they say 5 business days and can go alot longer You cant even talk to anyone at the bank at all they seam scared of thier customers
Zero STAR! Inquiry to this bank is very difficult! Yesterday phone inquiry they told me that the amount for sending money to Peru was 0.25% the amount im sending. Today: 0.15%... I also make sure to tell me whatz the right number... and also told that i do not have an account. Then i went in the bank and the teller told me that its not possible to send money without an account.. The reason why i inquire on the phone was to make that i can send money there even without account. So even on their western union i have to got an account. And while im on the phone she told me that i can send money even without an account... Staff here are really frustratin' to talked to...
I went there first time and worst banking experience out there.Very pathetic service.
I never have any problems at my branch ????
So many problems with the bank over the years. From lying about bank statements being sent so they can make money off of you to locking online accounts temporarily because their site seems to forget personal questions every time you scrub cookies off your browser. Switch banks, this amount of grief isn't worth it.
They only have two counters open. It takes a long time to get the things done in this place, very friendly staffs.
(Translated) I opened the bank account with them. The boy was extremely available and very kind. He understood my needs and helped me in the choice. (Original) Ho aperto il conto in banca con loro. Il ragazzo è stato disponibilissimo e molto gentile. Ha capito le mie esigenze e mi ha aiutato nella scelta.
Absolutely horrible customer service, vile and disrespectful staff.
This location was excellent when I was on quarantine and needed to set up an account over the phone then when I needed help my voice mails were never returned. Some time before Covid hit I had formed a corporation. Next step was open corporate bank accounts. I had started the process online then contacted the branch to finish the details such as send incorporation documents and have some questions answered. The corporate account rep at Terra Losa was excellent at the start and super helpful. Fast forward a few months and I find I'm unable to withdraw money from a USD account. After an e-mail and two telephone calls I get absolutely no response. The national call center tells me I need to visit a branch. After visiting another Scotiabank where the first person I talked with was super helpful I find out my problem stemmed from how the account was set up by Terra Losa. Bottom line: This branch only cares about customers who are bringing new business and aren't interested in helping existing customers when problems arise.
So far, they have always been helpful and friendly, 3 years and counting.
I've moved to another bank, but still have my TFSA with Scotiabank and it's a nightmare trying to contribute each year, I really ought to just move that account elsewhere too, to be honest. Went in to contribute to my TFSA with a bank draft from my main institution. They told me I didn't have a TFSA, getting my heart racing a bit as to what they did with all my money if it just disappeared on them. They had to check 3 times to see that I had one, even though it's front and centre in my online banking. They then told me that the only way I could add money to it is by reopening a chequing account with them, but that I would be charged for doing so, and would be charged if it was left empty for the convenience of just getting my money where I need it. Tried calling them later in the day, and there is ZERO way to reach this branch, just got booted on hold forever to a national call centre. Lastly discovered the only way to get money into my TFSA with scotiabank is to physically mail a form with the information of my other banking institution. Absolute nightmare branch, seems like everyone else has had these consistent issues with this branch too, no idea what the heck they're doing there. I realize some of this is higher up policy stuff, but even if it's not on this branch, why in gods name Scotiabank can't I just deposit money into my account, instead of trying to manhandle your customers into doing all their banking with you, by locking TFSAs behind an inaccessible wall for those that don't have other accounts with you.
I don't think they care about customer service. This is the most unprofessionally ran bank I have ever seen in my life. Wow!
They don't pick up the phone. I've called twice in two days, and no one answers. Nevermind that I have been with this bank forever, you can't get proper service. Why have a phone number when you get directed to their phone centre, and their phone centre can't even get through to the bank. Horrible. But when you do get them directly, the problem usually gets resolved. I had a good experience with a man named Andrew ,who was able to quickly resolve all my issues. So for that I am grateful !
Extremely unhappy. This is the second time I've gone into the branch and booked an appointment to see an advisor and they "lost" my appointment and tell me I must've booked it online or over the phone when talking to the teller I booked the appointment with. Then to top it all off they "lost" my credit card application twice and have had to restart. I've lost my patience with this place, no longer banking here and if you're considering a switch to scotiabank don't.
By far the worst experience I've ever had with a bank. Management lost a $30,000 final payment and refused to take responsibility and or help rectify the issue. 0 stars would be more appropriate
I have been struggling looking for a bank that will meet my business requirements. My profession in my business requires special /unique banking set up and not all the bank knows how to do it. I wish I would have chosen Scotiabank from the beginning. Sharon Kegel is so kind and very knowledgeable about her job. She gave me options that best suits my business and just came prepared before the appointment so no time will be wasted and just make sure that the time I am going to spend with her to set the account up is productive. I feel so valued. Thank you Scotiabank and Sharon.
Randomly decided to give my husband and I hundreds of dollars in fees. Called the call center to see what to do they said go in and a teller could help. Went to the teller and she was beyond rude then told us to talk to a manager, Peter. But he wasn't in. Got his number and started calling him around noon. Finally got a hold of him and he said he wasn't going to do anything and he would be more than happy to cancel our account. Don't you think you would do everything in your power to fix a problem that the branch did?! Nope..basically he was pushing for us to close our account. You would think a customer that has been with them for 14+ years would be treated fair. Closed the account and went with a different bank all together and I can't tell you how much better it's already been.
It is good
Just bank at any other bank. Honestly. Waste of time and money. They don't care and they change employees more than you change your socks.
I am still in shock how fast I went in and deposited a cheque and got out. Friendly, efficient place. Go here if you can for your banking needs. They are on the ball in a world where everyone is on a square.
I drove from St. Albert to my main branch to get some favourable answers but the guy in teller even didn’t have any kind of manners to go in detail. He looks like Asian the experience is terrific it happened Tuesday.I got positive attitude and approach from StAlbert scotiabank not from terra losa.I spoke to them and someone from Scotia online help centre ,They suggested me go to main branch they could do something about this issue but the teller didn’t even take 2 minutes to check it .You lost your customer closing account with scotiabank
They seem to try
Worse banking experience in Edmonton. 30 days no call that my credit card is ready to be picked up. Once I go to the front, they ask me for my drivers license my health care card and my sin number? Took them 15 min to find my letter then I was sent away to meet with the front greeter to go thru the process again and to sign some papers. My private information like name address my email all read out loud and nasty. I felt my privacy was comprised and very disrespected. After 10 extra min, I asked to talk to a manager about the issue and concerns I had. Varun Kundra (don't know how he got to be a assistant manager) ignored me and I was sent back to the original ignorant and rude woman and I left the bank. Never setting foot in this branch again. If I was not forced to pick up my credit card here I would never have walked in here. Stay away from this branch.
I have been with this bank since I was a Teen. Always find everyone helpful from the tellers to the back office. I wish every ATM had cash select instead of just 1.
Always great service and very helpfull
Very poor customer service. I have a business account at this location, very thing so complicated here form account opening to getting business advise.
Ive been a client with this bank since i was 13 years old i am now 22. I visited my home branch looking to get my money released so i could pay my rent. The supervisor treated me so poorly the teller apologized for him. It was the most embarressing experience i have ever had in my life. I will be closing my account this tuesday and not looking back. The supervisor should be fired so he can never treat anyone the way he treated me. I could tell the teller was scared of him, im sure he treats everyone the same there with no respect....all i can say is his face was equally as ugly as his personality. Puke
They can't give me my money back right away, now i am in so much trouble.
Lately every time I come in it's the same damn thing long lines one person running around talking to people in the lineup instead of working cash till one to three people on the tellers desks and an average of 12 people in the lineup. The system is not working! You've gotten rid of the business line 0and now those doing business have to stand in the regular line waste additional time so now going to the bank is extra cost.
Staff has no information. Today i went for closing accounts and teller did for debit and i asked for my visa closing he told me call to visa, when i called them visa told me call to branch because you have student account and i told teller like i have student account. This is the service as a customer you mention all the details but as a teller if you are new ask your senior person and then give advice Such a waste of time with visa card calling and when i called on this location i waited for 15 min and suddenly call ended Waste day with scotia I will go again to report this experience Bad week start for me
I have been banking with Scotiabank for a number of years. The branch in Dawson Creek is top notch. The Customer Service Reps are amazing, very friendly and professional. I always get loonies for my laundry at least once a month and never have had any issues with this branch. I highly recommend banking with Scotiabank. They offer movie reward points just for using your debit/credit cards.
Decent branch, but has the most insufferably, broken, and horrendously useless automated calling system I have ever used in my life. You're on the phone with a computerized voice for at least 3 minutes before you even get put on hold (presuming it doesn't hang up randomly on you first.)
Too busy every time I go there. Too much waiting.
Was treated very poorly by Banji Oyenekan. I don’t like to drop someone’s full name in a review but I’ll make this exception. He mocked my questions and comments and didn’t even react or respond when I cracked a joke in attempt to break the ice. Either than that, this location is good for simple appointments, and the other employees are fairly nice.
I usually get great service from this branch especially from our business adviser and from our personal financial adviser
Zero stars should be an option. Without question the worst banking experience of my life. The male East Indian (if I had to guess ) teller is the most rude person I have ever encountered. Scoffed in my face, walked away from me mid conversation, and made completely inappropriate remarks. I was refused being able to speak with a manager to discuss my issue. In an unrelated matter the manager of bank has not been helpful at all in resolving a problem created by following the instructions given to me by his employees. I will escalate my issue until I get a response! This bank clearly doesn’t care about their customers and likes to bully them under the guise of policy. When a customer makes an appointment to seek advice and clarification on how to handle a transaction, and your staff gives them the wrong information - you should not penalize your customer! Totally unacceptable! Stay away from the Terra Losa branch!
They gave me an appointment for 2pm and the guy I was supposed to see didn't even know. I talked to 4 people and nobody helped me. I was there for an hour
I had a tough time getting a hold of my advisor, but they did end up pulling through in a timely manner.
Nice Job
Nobody ever answers a phone. You can call every extension in the place and no one answers. I needed a document emailed to me that same day and they would not call me back and they would not answer. I was given all the extension number from the call center and no one answered. I called them all twice. I had to drive over an hour to go and talk to someone and there were no customers in the bank and they were all standing around talking to each other. There is ZERO customer service at this branch, LAZY INCONSIDERATE STAFF. I have called this branch on several occasions and REALLY not one person will answer a phone.
Update: Since my latest appointment with Mohammed, my experience was great. Very professional and polite. Thankyou Don’t have much bad experience but it was enough to drop it to 3 stars. Initially everything was pretty good. Then i had an appointment with the staff who never replied back to the emails (which she asked to send) and neither bothered to follow up.however recent experience was wonderful. Hope to continue doing business with them
rude staff , and dont know how to treat people with respect, even mangers
The worse bank you could imagine. I would give 0 stars if I could. I went in to close my LOC. Paid it off in full and when it was closed off they said I had a credit of 52.77 and proceeded to give me the cash. I thought that was werid but then, two months later I get a notice in the mail saying I owe 52.77. Have to go back to this garbage bank and pay them what they gave me back in the first place. Holy these guys are just terrible. Run! Take your business to a different bank, I have personally moved everything out of this hell hole.
Do not deal with this bank!!! I have deposited cash money in the atm and they took it away for no apparent reason. They havent given my money back and been very unhelpful when i went into the branch. I now have to make an appointment with a branch manager and find out what happened to my money!!!! I feel like whoever counts the deposits stole it!!!
Have visited this branch 2 times to pick up a pre-approved credit card. There was no communication on the procedure for pick up provided over the phone when calling ahead. Upon arrival, I had to then book an appointment, which will not be for another 7 days to get the card. It has been a very frustrating experience, for something that is typically very simple.
I was here at about 3:00PM on Dec. 17, 2016. I was the first person waiting in the line at that time. One of the tellers started saying something in my direction. I thought she was talking to me so I walked up to her counter. But she gave me a look: "I am not talking to you". GREAT customer service!! Will never visit again.
Absolute worse service from a bank I had ever received. I’ve been with Scotia for 19 years, came in with a CERTIFIED Cheque for 10K, instead of calling to verify the cheque was good, they told me they would put a hold on it and call later as they were too busy, with 2 customers behind me in line. So I told them no; a phone call takes 5 minutes, they can call now; they said no, so I said fine; close my account then, instead of trying to keep a customer, they said nothing and closed my accounts..
Worst customer service of my life. Unwilling to help. Completely rude and disrespectful.
Went to deposit a draft into a friends account who was out of town and they refused to help me. I had all the account info required to make the deposit and the questioned the validity of the draft which I had just picked up from RBC a few minutes before I came to this branch. I informed them if there is an issue I can get cash and they said they can't take that amount in cash. The manager was no help either and finally after 30 minutes of arguing they deposited the money. What a joke scotia bank is. I would open with a different institution if you want good service from a bank that handles YOUR money.
The staff in that branch are fantastic, I have been dealing with a financial adviser as well as our business adviser and they have been a great help for so many years.
Staff have been knowledgable, helpful, and friendly. Good experiences so far!
The bank service staff (in the old days they were called tellers) are all excellent at this branch. Today I was helped out by Nauman. Exceptionally helpful and courteous.
Horrible Service! Tried to open bank accounts for my two children at this branch today. Staff were uninformed and badly-trained and after two hours of trying finally confirmed they are unable to offer passbooks on kids accounts despite the fact that their website clearly states they can, and their call centre rep also confirmed this when I called in before visiting the branch to be sure they could accommodate this request. Kids were disappointed and I was quite annoyed with the way they wasted our time. Useless manager made no effort to make up for our inconvenience. Save yourself the aggravation and take your banking elsewhere!
Been with the bank for decades. Good bank, but when I went on-line to find the opening hour for Saturday I could not find it anywhere. Even after I Googled, "Scotiabank hours".
Ever since they have made cut backs at this location we dread having to come into the bank. It's not the same experience as it was a year ago, way to many cut backs.
Terrible wait times to get service, even Saturday when there was two customers in the bank it took over 15 minutes to talk to the teller.
Open 6.5 hours a day (less than any other bank) and good luck finding anyone here who will answer a phone even within that time.
I visited the branch today and I ‘d like to share my good user experience with everyone. The staff here are very friendly,Baby(Merideth)Limpin is such a nice person! She helped me and dealt with the problem in a highly professional way.Really appreciated her time and patience!
Why is there no phone number where you can call the branch. Literally just automated service. All I wanna do is talk to someone that friggen works there.
Its a great bank, just the timing doesn’t make sense. Closes very early. Almost all the staff is friendly except few.
This is the worst customer service I have ever recieved at any banking facility I have ever been a member of throughout the world. The staff are incompetent and condescending. The bank pays their employees poorly but that's not an excuse to treat your customers without respect Do not pay this faceless organozation to store your own money. Go to a credit union where your money will be held for free, no fees and you will be treated like human being.
Always good.
I am a business man, dealing with this branch for few Month, True , The car lone department are really complicated to deal with . but the are not at the branch level. I have the pleasure to ask help from lady name : Rebecca Gray, I can tell you see was just good in here job, knowing and acting like a real banker .Thank you
Won't come back to this branch anymore! Last July 5, I deposit funds to my account and the teller named PAM told me that I can do it thru ATM. I reason out that it would be put on hold if I do that. Then she answered, we'll I'll still put this on hold. She meant there's no difference between the teller and the ATM. She shouldn't be there if she doesn't want to serve their customers? Very rude and poor service. Im planning to close my account soon!
Such horrendously poor customer service and a very pretentious attitude from both the tellers.
Very very ridiculous slow service.. worst customer service. They deserve zero rating.
A nightmare customer service first witnessed while waiting in line with several customers blowing up in frustration and then experienced myself on the receiving end. Thirty minutes for a simple transaction that should take less than 5.
Horrible, oddly snobby, customer service that dislikes serving customers. Admittedly, this is the only Scotiabank, or any bank really, that I've had bad experiences with. For three years everytime I had to come here it was worse then the previous visit. They have horrible communication within the branch, and it seems that although the tellers and front desk want to be helpful, they have no support from their management...everyone says different things which makes a straight answer impossible.
Worst customer service. This Branch is the worst, they don't even deserve one star. I had to deposit my Paycheck in the ATM because by the time I finish work that branch would of been closed. It was deposited on Tuesday, they didn't freeze my account the rest of the week and then on Christmas Eve they put a hold on my account. What kind of people would freeze someone account before Christmas. Now I have to wait until Dec 29th to access my account. I couldn't even get groceries for Christmas dinner. Called the customer service hotline and they refused to help stating that it's up to the branch to do something. No Manager or customer care lead to assist urgent matter. Now I have to wait until the branch decided to reopen. Thank you Scotiabank for running my family's Christmas.
Staff was knowledgeable and the wait was minimal.
Called central Scotiabank to get an information and was passsed on to Terra Losa branch as they were "more appropriate" to provide me with the infomation I needed. At Terra Losa branch, although they seemed willing to help, I got disconected after been placed on hold endlessly. Needless to mention that they did not bother to call me back after being disconnected. With such committed employees, is it safe to deal with this bank or trust it with our money, I wonder?
very hard to get through and talk to someone in branch
Put a incorrect hold on a cash deposit of mine for over a week without notifying me
Expect to wait in line 20+ minutes no matter what time you go. Quite frustrating
They literally have the nicest staff members.
Service was excellent and friendly customer service representative.
Impossible to talk to them on the phone. Very difficult to make an appointment with your contact person fron the bank.
WORST BANK EVER! IF I COULD GIVE THEM NO STARS I WOULD, THEY DONT EVER DESERVE ONE STAR. DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUT WITH THEM, THEY HAVE NO CUSTOMER SERVICE, CAN NOT HELP YOU WITH ANYTHING, TRANSFER YOU FROM PERSON TO PERSON AND IN THE END STILL CAN NOT HELP!!
My mortgage broker got me a mortgage here As I have never dealt with this bank before. I went in to do some banking and everything went sideways from there. Worst experience ever and dealing with the manager was even worse. So glad my daily banking is with another provider
Great service and very welcoming. We love the coffee machine.
Always been kind and quick for me ????
Last week I had to deposit some money, there were no envelopes in the drive threw ATM. So I went inside and there were none inside either, and the bank wasn't open yet. Today I had to deposit money again. And what a suprise. No envelopes again. Having to go out of my way before work to find a bank that has envelopes is getting annoying especially when this bank is right beside my house. Checking and restocking the envelopes is a minimal task. I don't know why it's a hard thing to do for this bank.
It's the management
When your job as a bank teller is becoming obsolete, you would think you'd work hard to offer better service. We arrived two minutes to closing and the doors were locked, the staff inside told us it was past 5pm (which was a lie) and couldn't help us, they have families to get home to. Good to know, I usually come to the bank for fun and definitely don't have a family! I'm asking you to spend 2 minutes on a simple but time sensitive transaction, since you should still be open. Scotia's total lack of branches in Edmonton open later than 5pm on a weekday puts them way behind their competitors.
Terrible. Dont bank here
Probably one of the most awful customer service I have experienced my whole life. It was today at 4:55pm August 28, 2018. The people at the counter were rude and was giving out false information. They seem to be rushing to go home since the branch closes at 5pm. I felt like I was not helped at all. I don't usually do reviews but these two guys (Asian and East-Indian guy) are really awful at their job. I hope management sees this because I'm transfering to TD after my visit.
Inquired about a line of credit with a low interest rate and the "Financial Advisor" suggested a credit card. Worst "financial advice" I've ever gotten as this clearly does not have the customer's best interests at heart.
Scotiabank is the most greedy bank in Canada. They are scammers and don't care if your account gets frauded.
I had to deal with Brandon Knight regarding my mortgage. He was very efficient and engaged in the process. Highly recommend him for anyone seeking a good representative who wont just take your money
no comment.
This bank has been in decline for a number of months since a new branch manager has taken over. Many great staff have been pushed out the door, customer service has gone by the wayside in favour of roadblocks and saying no to customers. The business line has been eliminated. Generally, the changes being made appear to help with the bottom line of the branch (less labour, lower wages for new staff, reduced services) -- but they do nothing to help provide great customer service. Lots of banking choices out there these days and we are now considering a change.
Had an appointment with financial advisor Serey Hann at 1p yesterday. Arrived at 12.37p; stood in line to deposit cash; was finished by 12.46p; sat & waited by 1p appointment - not one person acknowledged my presence - no 'hello' or 'are you waiting for someone?' - I was totally ignored. Finally at 1p a man came over & asked if I was waiting for someone; I noticed his name tag which said Serey Hann so told him that I was waiting to see him but by this time he had turned & walked away; I stood up & followed him to a doorway of one of his co-workers; he seemed surprised to see me & said 'Kathleen?' - I answered yes & he took me to his office; I asked him if he had forgotten about me & his response was that it wasn't 1p yet (by my cell, it was 1.01p) - he seemed to want to score points on me by shutting me down that he didn't have to see me until 1p & his clock said 1p. We talked & I had no problem with the conversation but his attitude was poor. My first job was with Scotia back in 1971 & I have had a really good relationship with them all these years but the experience that I had yesterday was very unsatisfactory & I may look at transferring to a credit union.
The absolute worst banking experience out there. Terrible hours. Terrible customer service. No response from their customer care supervisor after multiple phone calls. Not sure if this is unique to this branch or rather indicative of Scotiabank as a whole - either way I will be looking for a new bank. If you are thinking of switching to this Scotia and or the Terra Lisa branch - don’t.
Poor customer service. The manager wouldn't even come over to talk to me when I asked for them.
They were friendly and quick. Great bank!
poor service
the women at the front counter never look happy and they sent my credit card to the wrong address.. lovely so now I get to wait another 5-7 days after I've already been waiting 14 for this stupid thing. not helpful what so ever
I have to do business at this branch at least once a week. My average wait time in line over the past few months has been 20+ minutes. Often times, there are only 2 tellers with 15 people waiting in line. Usually there are available staff that could be helping out! I was told that the business line was taken away so that "it was fair to everyone". In reality, I feel that the line is now bogged down with business clients, who generally consume more time at the teller, leaving everyone else to wait longer. Not sure if this is a staffing issue or a management issue - it doesn't seem like the staff are getting much support when it gets busy (just from my viewpoint - I can't say with certainty). Not only do I have to wait for extended periods every time I go into the branch, I also have to listen to all of the other disgruntled customers complaining out loud in line. Though the staff have been friendly and helpful when it is my turn, the overall experience has been very poor.
I am a little shocked to see so many negative reviews. I think 3 stars is fine, it's a bank not the Waldorf Astoria. What is the context of people's negative reviews, I know if I go to the bank unorganized and without proper ID/information I should expect to have a terrible experience. Every experience I have had here is fine. Maybe my expectations are a little different and most of my banking is online, but all I want from my bank branch is security and competence.
I wish there was less than one star, so I could truly express how I feel:(
What kind of bank closes at 4pm on Friday? Typical Scotia nonsense. I left years ago when they wouldn't exchange currency at 2pm because they had "closed the vault". Sadly I had to do business with a Scotia branch today. Closed. At 4 pm. What.The.Actual........
