Predatory Lending at its best. They are very pushy when originating a loan and do NOTHING when the Marketing service you contracted with goes unfulfilled. Everything is YOUR fault, YOU agreed to the terms. They are very threatening. My situation is that I used them to enter into a marketing service agreement. Alternative Trends Chicago marketing company failed to start service and took back the equipment and never installed it or had it running. 2 months go by and the marketing company Alternative trends Chicago still did not provide any service. Alternative Trends agreed to terminate our service agreement and it remains MY responsibility to pay the full contract. Awful people to do business with. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.. Beware of upfront dishonesty about interest rates, and payment terms. Was quick to take my account information and charge me first and last months payment even after I told them I wasn't getting my equipment for 2 months.. Not to mention their additional $200 fee for them raping me on the interest rate... When I called to voice my concern they didn't return calls and just passed around to different departments.. Now I get letters about the fine print of this insurance BS that they are going to automatically charge me - which was never mention in the application process.. SHADY COMPANY - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM YOU'LL REGRET IT...

I used Direct Capital for two loans. When it came time to shut the business down they were completely mercenary and would not negotiate in any fashion. Before that time their customer service was God awful, for the most part non existant. And their rates are high. They may as well change their name to Direct Loan Sharks.

I have a small business located in a tourist town. During the off season, Direct Capital and Eric have been life savers or at least business savers. They make it so simple to get the cash my company needs to continue operating through our off season. I just wanted to let everyone know how great these guys are to work with.

I was really surprised at the speed things happened, they told me what they needed, we gave them the information and BOOM they called and said, you got it, lets get things moving..... yeah I wanted things yesterday, but getting them today instead of 3 weeks later was GREAT........ we had been working with BOA for over two weeks prior and we finally got approved 3 weeks after we had the trucks on the road making money, I told the bank, thanks but we already have everything we need.

Unless you have no other option don't enter into a contract with this company. I am currently trying to pay off the loan in full due to a fire loss and they are refusing to cooperate with insurance. PLEASE do what ever you can to help yourself to obtain financing elsewhere. This is the worst company I've ever done business with they operate in a unfair manner when it comes to paying off loans. IN my opinion its over the money they lose because we pay off early and would rather keep billing you. PLEASE don't enter into a contract with this company

I don't know what all of this reviewers are talking about but we applied for equipment finance trough them . At the beginning they were sending us emails and calling us that they can help us> When we applied for a loan and they run a credit they went cold completely , no return calls no return emails. We have to call them for a 2 days in order to get some kind of loan status. Finally we find out that we need 50 % down ( what ) . Don't waist your time on this guys because they are not serious and can't deliver what they promise. We got approved from another place with 10% down in several hours.

If your business is looking for a loan Direct Capital is the place to go. I work for a small company and it is very difficult to find a company willing to give you a loan. We worked with Marcus Newbury and he was a pleasure to work with. It was a seamless process and we were able to receive a loan in a timely manner. My company would definitely recommend Direct Capital to anyone that is looking for a loan for their company.

My company was approved for $150,000 equipment loan, I only needed $4,000. After several conversations I signed the contract (which by the way, the monthly payment was higher they originally quoted), they charged $231 from my account and said I just needed to wait for the equipment. 2 week passed without any information and decided to send them an email, which was answered with the following message: " our company decided not to give you the loan, sorry, have a great day". Really? After a month, being approved (Not pre-approved) for a loan 40 times higher the amount that I requested, signed the agreement and charge my account? This is a scam and you have to avoid giving your information to this company.

I wish I could give this company a negative star. Beware of any quote you get! They will add on fees upon fees without any hesitation. They will make you get insurance (they offer) unless a an individual policy on the equipment you have. They close at 4 pm. If you call after you will not be able to process a payment due to their lack of not having online or phone pay. This is really convenient for them, another $40 just because.

This company sent me a loan application through docusign when I didn't ask for it. Then they repeated to send me reminders EVERY TWO DAYS FOR 6 MONTHS...even after I requested to stop multiple times. Luis Marriott is the "underwriter" who continuously sends me this application and I'm quite sure he has it sending as an auto-reminder. This is not cool. Business owners beware. Not surprised this company has a 2.8 star reputation on Google.

I was recently up for a CEO of the year award and have since been getting SPAMMED by companies like this who's only way to develop business is by scraping emails online and spamming them with emails. This company is un-ethical in their marketing so im guessing they are everywhere else too.

This company first approved me for a small loan, took $517.84 from my checking account then denied my loan. After contacting them I was told that the funds would be returned in 3 to 5 days and 12 days latter I am still waiting for the funds to be returned.

LOOK OUT FOR HIDDEN FEES and other tricks!!! If you've already fell victim, file a Better Business Bureau complaint and a Federal Consumer Protection Bureau complaint. I clearly applied for a vehicle loan. The documents were written somewhat generally as if they could be used for a purchase or rental agreement. After the transaction went through they intentionally delayed my payment terms and applied my payments toward a rental instead, even though the title, title application, and other documents were completed for a purchase. It seems as if it's an attempt to extort additional money from buyers. Look somewhere else for financing!!! Someone replied to this post and said they made some adjustments because of my concerns. They actually made adjustments because I filed a Better Business Bureau complaint and a Federal Consumer Protection Bureau complaint. The person also said the company tried to reach me, but that's not true.

Be aware.....They do not follow through on what they say. They have been charging us insurance on equipment that they financed for us knowing that we had separate insurance for the equipment. We have been trying to get hold of our "account manager" to get this straightened out but guess what.....he will never return our call. Poor customer service once they have your business!!!

Unethical at the least - the person on the phone was misleading on most every issue and flat out lied to me. the documents are written to confuse and when you look into the details, the terms are ridiculous. BUYER BEWARE - You are crazy if you ever consider working with this company.

If you’re a new business then these folks will help get you up and running but beware, many of the reviews posted here are spot on. The comment I read about predatory lending at its best should be a warning; I received help getting an air-compressor. Original price for a used compressor $5400, after a three year lease $10,400 not a bad profit for a short period. Things being as they are, your business takes off or you just get by as I have, and I don’t mind them making some profit, but a 100%? Now at the end they charge me $379 and call it a Lease Termination Fee. I would have thought they’d made enough. When I called to challenge this fee I was told it was a standard fee and when I ask if anything could be done to knock some of this fee down they hung up the phone. Please don’t ask me to call your number for I already know what will happen. I do ask that your representatives stop calling and emailing me to borrow more; so much for helping small businesses; Blast It Right.

They also have a nice way of charging insurance when it has been proven to them that insurance is in place and the best answer is it takes two to 3 billing cycles to come off. Gave an excuse of not being able to verify our bank information. The bank information was verified twice. Do not conduct business with this company. We are owed 20,089.00!

I paid off my loan 10/19/20 fund cleared the Wells Fargo Bank at Direct Capital 10/20/20, yet they pulled an incorrect loan payment 10/26/20. I have called many times and sent emails. They will not refund for more than (30) days later. Unbelievable and unprofessional to say the least.

I cannot even begin to tell you how awful this company is. We have done business with them for over 15 years but they have gotten worse and worse. Our last lease we went thru hell with them and said back then, once this one was complete we would never do business with them again. If your a new or existing business I STRONGLY suggest you go elsewhere. They charged us a personal property tax for the 1st time ever and said it was paid to the state. In our state you don't pay personal property tax to the state. After speaking with the Attorney General's Office its clear they are charging us and keeping the money themselves. They defraud customers intentionally. Direct Capital - Please don't respond with some phony canned response asking us to call you. When you call you are sent to cyber space and no one calls you back.

They charged me for insurance on my equipment, meanwhile I had insurance on it the entire time. They only refunded me up to 6 months of the insurance payments and I was paying it for over 2 years. When covid hit and I asked them to settle, their settlement amount was only 3% off of the remaining balance, meanwhile other banks that I had financed other equipment with all offered 10-15% off total balance of the loan. They have zero sympathy for anyone who goes through a rough time. They are ruthless. If you’re more than three days late over your due date, they charge a $200 late fee. They won’t waive the late fee unless you pay what’s owed and then they send a “request” to have it waived. They will take your first born if they can. Please use Amur equipment finance, Lakeland bank or any other financial institutions for your financial needs, especially if you’re a business!

We are a very well rated company on angieslist. Angieslist promoted Direct Capital to us as a lending source. We applied with just basic info (basically just a credit check) and were denied. They never even looked at our financials, bank statements, tax returns, nothing! What a waste of time. They are like a bank, looking for zero risk and all the reward.

I sold my rollback at auction on 12/22/15, I wired them the balance on 12/23/15, I still haven't received my title, even though I have called them numerous times. The auction gives you 30 days to produce a title, today is 1/18/16.
