REVIEWS OF Quicken Loans IN Chatham-Kent

As a real estate agent I cannot, in good conscious, recommend this company. I just had a terrible experience with a real estate transaction with Quicken Loans, where it caused both buyers and sellers incredible stress because of a colossal mistake on the lender’s part. When making a life decision so huge, one would think that the “professionals” involved would have more attention to detail.

I purchased my first home with Quicken out of Detroit a few years ago and had a very good experience. When I went to buy a second home I reached out to the office in Cleveland: I expected a similar experience but was unpleasantly surprised. The customer service was terrible. I mean I was going to buy a house and was pre-approved, but couldn't get anyone to return my calls in a timely fashion. The main person I talked to out of the Cleveland office was PJ in case anyone is reading this review. I would send required documents over, but couldn't seem to ever get in touch with him. When I finally found homes I was interested in, I had to wait on Quicken. Every week or so he would call in to say there's an additional document the underwriting team will need and he'll get back to me with the documents I need. After not hearing or seeing anything from him for weeks, I would call back and get no answer. This kind of thing went on for 2 months or so and unfortunately I had to move on. I didn't even get to look at 1 house during this time because of the delays. I will not be doing business with the Quicken-Cleveland office, ever!

I, as a first time homebuyer, was terrified of the process in the beginning. Michelle Coleman eased my mind every time we spoke. She kept telling me not to worry I was in good hands and that we could do this. Well, that was the beginning of my adventure in November of 2016. As of February 28th 2017 I closed on my first home. The process was so much easier due to the team of experts Michelle, Matt the In House Realty advisor and my closer and I can not forget Kimi Clements my realtor. They were all on point and only had my best interests in mind. I was able to upload and take care of everything online during my long work hours. Website is easy to navigate and everything they request is easy to understand and review. They always answered my phone calls or returned them in a timely manner. If I ever purchase another home or have someone ask me whom I used I will definitely tell them to go to Quicken Loans!

Extremely questionable hiring practices. By the makeup of the place is almost exclusively white. In a place like downtown Cleveland I think an investigation into hiring is very necessary. Very untrustworthy people.

I hopped online to utilize the chat option as I was having issues with mine and my husbands joint application. The first rep was incredibly nice, but said that my husbands info was not showing up on the app despite entering it (mine was showing up twice). I created a separate account for him and started a different app as I told the original rep I was going to do. However, I was still having issues. Keep in mind, I had this same issue in the past but decided to take it as a sign and stop house hunting with how insane the market is. My app was showing as approved but that something was glitching yet again. I hopped on the chat and Victoria F. was the rep that was supposed to help me. I asked my first question and she answered it, but before I could finish reading it she completely CLOSED OUT THE CHAT without allowing me to respond, ask further questions (which I had at that point since I've been having issues trying to get both my husband and I on the same app), or even acknowledging that she was ending the chat. THANK GOD you offer to email the transcript since I thought the chat was completely gone. WHAT AWFUL SERVICE. Given the fact that I can't even get the application to process correctly NOR will your employees help, I absolutely 100% would never recommend this company. Especially with such a big decision being made. Read the rest of the reviews and SEEK OTHER OPTIONS.

Gave us an approval, we found a house, put in an offer, we paid to have it inspected. A week later we are told we are no longer approved because they didn't look over our documents fully. I am so disappointed, as we found a house we love. But I am even more angry that they were so negligent and wasted almost $2k of our money, all of our time looking at houses, getting our hopes up, and coming up with more for a deposit so we could get a lower interest rate. All of this for nothing. So unbelievably unprofessional. I do not recommend them. They will waste your time and your money.

It seems like only the people with bad experiences give ratings so I'll be the outlier. I had an incredible experience with Quicken Loans. They closed my refinance in just over two weeks and everyone was so sweet and efficient. I'll never work with another lender and will recommend them to all my friends and family!

Jessica Dean

They will approve just about anyone. We have been a month late on our mortgage (who hasn’t? Hard times should be expected from a lender. Kudos to you if you’re lucky enough to not have this issue) and they immediately threaten foreclosure. I attempted to contact them regarding this and was spoken to like the scum of the earth. I also attempted to set up partial payments over the course of the month and they wouldn’t do that either, they demanded the amount in its entirety. My realtor advised against this company and now I know why. I just wish I would have listened to her. Never go through this company.

Three stars for fast and convenient, but the money for all those commercials has to come from somewhere. Check the total closing costs carefully.

I filled out an online form to see how much I qualify for now they call 4times a day. Stop calling me I would never do business with a company that calls so much just from a lead.

Happy Boys Inc

The worst employees in the world. Not one empowered to do anything. I wish I would never called them. Now I need to move my mortgage elsewhere. They lie, cheat and do anything to get their hooks in you because they know the process is hard to change. BEWARE of THE WORST IN THE BUSINESS HERE!

Michael Craven

Never allow them to get your info. They call me monthly and hang up on me when I tell them to quit calling.

If I could give a minus stars I would, I went through a 3 week process getting all the paperwork these guys wanted me to get, things were looking very promising until I was told that I couldn't get a loan because they felt the home I intend to buy was a manufactured home or mobile home how they determined that is beside me because the home is sitting on a foundation, one dude took it upon himself to make his own conclusion on what he felt the home was...this home I'm intending on buying is a modular home which according to what I researched this company does do loans for...I wasted 3 weeks and they wasted my time, upper management was no help, I was told they would look into it and I haven't had a follow up call..A dude by the name of Steven Furdock or something was rude as hell..I wouldn't recommend these people..they wasted my time.

Bryan Valentine

They will RIP u off and waste your time! Worst experience!

Quicken loans was so difficult to to close our loan with. Definitely suggest seeking another lender first

Andrew Barnes

During the process of looking for a house. The loan officer gave our valuable information to the real estate agent we looking to get the house from.

Very irritating to deal with. I chose to go with another lender, and had indicated this to the person I was working with. A week later, I received a phone call at 8 am and told that person the same thing. I then got a phone call from another rep 2 hours later! They must have issues with internal communications. Not to mention, they have called my husband on his phone 10 times a day since inquiring! If I could give them less than 1 start, I would!

Beware of fraudulent loan applications by QL! While using an online mortgage calculator a QL agent called me -- and minutes later a HARD HIT (-5 pts!) was glued to my credit reports for TWO years, along with a "loan" application and denial, even though I don't have a mortgage. Only 4 digits of your SS# will give them "permission" to access your credit, pull your scores down and make claims for fraudulent applications. Numerous complaints to QL have been made, simply asking for removal. All denied. Do yourself a favor, spend more time finding a company you can trust.

So i go online fill out app ..it completes and then takes me to live chat with mortgage banker . He asked many questions over 35 minutes back n forth tells me good news im very well qualified. .but they have 130000 plus minimum they cannot finance my amout of 95000/100000 . WHY wouldn't he say that before then take me through all the bs . Will never do business with them and i see they have many bad reviews besides mine . Go elsewhere

Absolutely worst experience dealing with these people. Promise to do things then back out. wasted month emailing texting faxing them everything they wanted. 5 days be for closing they call say they can't do it after all because I don't have enough in reserves. They told me from start that wouldn't be issue. Missed 2 days work nothing but lies.

I have my current mortgage with them, and had a pretty good experience years ago when I purchased my home. Their client care has gone SIGNIFICANTLY downhill since then and will be leaving them over a horrible refinance attempt. Everything from people not returning phone calls, to getting sent in phone machine loops when attempting to get any good answer for questions, etc. Just really, really bad. Will do business elsewhere.

Absolutely the worst experience dealing with these people. Promise to do things then back out. We wasted over a month emailing texting faxing them everything they wanted, right before closing they indicate they can't verify certain things and denied the loan. They told me from start that wouldn't be issue. Abi Chami, Scott Oliver, Brandon Wessel will only waste your time... Trust me and find another mortgage company, you will thank me later. I was approved with another lender within 7 days and saved over $10,000. Quicken Loans is a scam and waste of time!

Sam Ghoubrial

I can't warn you enough times about how unethical and incompotant these people are! My credit is over 800 they asked for 7 documents on day 2 an appriasal on day 4 " YOU ARE ALL SET DR" Day 15 they asked for 66 documents 95% were redundant and or unnecessary! It was a simple refi ...I was already working with first federal of Lakewood they closed with me while these folks could not even get out of the gate .... String them along as a 3rd choice and close with a local bank. They are under federal investigation RUN RUN RUN

Quicken Loans, also k/a Rocket Mortgage. Fast process for a mortgage, excellent online experience. Terrible on FEES! Terrible on loyalty to their customers! They have a so called "Loyalty Program". Two mortgages paid off in last four years on properties I owned. Tried to get a refi on my current property, given absolute worse deal for a refi. Received dozens of "Loyalty" calls with worse rates in the market offered as well as highest fees➡️Loyalty? Give me a break. Last offer to pay $50+ more a month to pay off loan sooner only about $6500 in fees. I don't have to pay anything to pay $50+/ month. $6500 fees NO????.

Our experience with quicken loans was not what we expected. We were approved almost immediately which was great, however the rest of the process was ridiculous and took almost two months. There was nothing quick about it. We had to submit the same required paperwork over and over even though we got confirmation it was received. We had an appraiser hired through them that was in our home for a total of 10 minutes and charged over $500.00... and our closing date was moved back which almost made us deliquent on our mortgage payment. The best part was the notary company they hired. They were quick and effecient.

Justin Washburne

Their rate was a full percentage point higher than any other competitor and their closing costs were about $5,000 higher than other lenders. This company almost feels like a scam operation.

In the beginning we called Quicken Loans and everything seemed promising. They have us a pre-approval and told us to start searching for homes. They also explained to us that if we filed our 2016 taxes we would be approved for more than we already were. We found our dream house which was a little higher than the pre-approval so we went ahead and contacted our loan officer. He gave us the green light to file our taxes and assured us that we would then be able to afford our chosen property. Once the taxes were filed our pre-approval was now well above what we needed to finance the home. We called our relator and made an offer. It was accepted. At first they were concerned that we owed money on our taxes ( we are a small business- so yes- every year we owe money on our taxes). They then tried to apply the tax money owed for 2016 to our debt to income ratio!! Which is against the law. All debts owed to the IRS are not considered "debts" on a credit report. After that "confusion" they gave us a closing date (30 days out). Now came the part where they needed lots and lots of paperwork (which was completely expected) We followed the guidelines and uploaded 100+ documents in the time line of 24 hours. Quicken only used 40 of these documents in total once everything was completed. They had a very hard time accepting our bank statements and were asking for account information that had nothing to do with the loan in any way shape of form. For example: we have 5 bank accounts. We chose to pay for the closing costs with one specific account only. However, they needed to see each and every bank account 60 day history anyways. They also requested that we keep a minimum of $200 in every account for "reserve funds" even though our chosen account has about 3x the amount of money in it for closing. They also made us pay off each and every credit card we owned. Including the $35 dollar balance on one specific card. We just started receiving child support from our exes. Quicken insisted that we wait until we collected a specific amount of money from the support payments, then print our bank statements showing the payments went directly into the bank account and the money remained in there for a specific amount of time. This also pushed our closing date out further. Once the home was appraised it came back a few thousand dollar short of what was originally expected... Quicken just wanted to drop everything right there and not go through with the loan. Fortunately, with the help of our relator-we were able to get the sale amount down to what it needed to be- Quicken was satisfied but again our closing date was pushed out. Then once everything seemed to be going well- our relator calls is and tells us that her team has found an error in Quickens calculations of the closing costs!!! We had to have the real estate agency contact Quicken on our behalf to correct their error. Quicken also promised us that the insurance payments were going to be calculated into the closing costs as well. To our surprise after signing the title paperwork we were slapped with a substancial home insurance payment due immediately! Not to mention that the previous family is still living in our home for the next month! We were told numerous times that "they just don't deal with small businesses often and we are abnormal to them." Finally on the week before closing Quicken contacts us and tells us that they need more information on another of our bank accounts. This time we told them NO. We explained to them that they have all the information that they need to process the loan, and if they don't want to give the loan to us they need to tell us by the end of the day. We explained that we are real people in the real world. Not more than an hour later did they process the loan!
