I have accounts there that were moved from Richmond Street when it closed so don't know anybody in the branch. It's 9:30 in the morning and I need to open a different account. I had to listen to a lengthy message about how they are taking such good care of their customers. Was going to leave a message but had to listen to the exact same long message again. Just hung up not feeling very "supported". Luckily I have other choices.
My old Dad paid his visa bill twice, the bank/visa charged his account $15.00 to return his money. Now that dad has passed away I will be closing the accounts ASAP!
One of the manager on the weekend was a rude person, we went to bank for operating our deposit locker, had to wait in line to meet the teller and was finally told we will have to book an appointment. She gave us an appointment at a later date, however we came to know later that no such appointment was recorded and we did not actually require to book an appointment to operate the locker!!! I do not want to comment on the exclusive behavior we were subjected to, but I am thoroughly disappointed in having moved our personal banking to CIBC from RBC ( who in my opinion are more open and inclusive in their customer interactions).. I think your frontline staff in these smaller communities will need to work on understanding more on the Canadian values and what Canada stands for ..to retain a loyal customer base.
CIBC is cutting staff to stay competitive with other banks instead of changing how they screw folks over. staff here is neat, but the company is disgusting.
They changed my account type without notifying me then proceeded to charge me $60 a month in service fees and when i booked an appointment to change my accounts the representative didnt even show up. I waited 30 minutes past my book appointment when I finally had enough and cancelled my accounts. DO NOT USE CIBC BANKS, THEY WILL STEAL FROM YOU AND PUSH YOU AROUND!

Very poor service. very slow, never enough tellers on busy days (Friday). One teller made condescending remarks towards me while I waited in line. If there was another branch in the city I would go there but this is the only one left open.
Like any bank they follow the procedure of the Pandemic,from 2m lengths between customers; and have arrows & lines where to stand! But didn't see a sanitizer station?? The bank is a one level building was in & out less than 15mins. went into get RRSP Receipt, but either the teller made the mistake or the person who printed out the receipts; made a mistake! Got receipts for the wrong year

DEFINITION of the ugliest bank in Canada... CIBC Wait times over 33 minutes. High foreign exchange rates. Ignorant financial advisors on charges. Twice out of American Currency. Horrible account Interest Rates. Service charges in the ridiculous range. UGLY!
For the huge profits that CIBC makes I would expect a reasonable amount of customer service, but usually do not receive it. Have gone in during lunch hour and only one teller window available and the business banking window closed as well, so you wait in line. The plan is for you do do your banking via ATM unless you want to borrow money. I prefer to do banking with a person instead of with a machine. The huge profits are partly a result of hiring the minimal amount of staff.

There is always a line up of 10+people due to the lack of staff. Staff are friendly but this is the only cibc in Chatham with tellers and its always a long wait.

I have never had a problem with this bank. They bend over backwards to help me with my business and personal banking. Staff are always friendly and professional. Serena, Candace and Phil have all gone out of their way to assist me. Hopefully Phil stays on as the new boss.

I am not happy how hard it is to actually speak to a real person. The phone system is ridiculous to get through.
The location is terribly bad, sometimes no parking spot, and the ATM (only one) is often broken with no service repair until the next day or more. Very inconvenient when you get all the way there for nothing. It doesn't matter if the employees are nice if the service available is limited or unavailable, even after paying premium fees and banking charges.
I have only had exceptionally positive experiences with this branch. I actually dealt directly with the Manager (Josh) who was absolutely fantastic, got me what I needed quickly, understood my needs and seemed to genuinely care about me not only as a customer, but a human being. I strongly suspect that part of the reason my experiences with this branch are so positive is because of the leadership with which Josh runs it. I wish every branch had a manager like this!

Walked into the store and explained to the teller that i was currently a member of simplii financial. Before i could get another word out of my mouth she immediately started lecturing me on how they do not have any inflation with that company. I told her yes i understand that but i am now shopping around for a bank. She scoffed at me and said she may be able to set me up for an appointment in a few weeks to see if i would be suitable to be a customer at their branch. I was disappointed by this judgement and said i will be taking my business else were. She said "fine with me". I left very disappointed. Unfortunately they just lost a very good customer.

They have a great staff but this bank never have enough staff.. always have to wait in line because only 1 or 2 cashier are behind till.if you need to get coins it's a disaster because they expect call for even 2 rolls of dime...
Hard to get anything done if you use this bank. Not open on Saturdays and terrible weekday hours. Staff constantly trying to make their jobs obsolete by pushing you towards using the atm. CIBC recently raised all their fees by 20% again despite record profits. Seems like fair inflation…or extreme corporate greed…one of the two. Mortgage rates are the highest in Canada so shop around. Branch is clueless when any paperwork relating to CIBC Investors Edge needs addressed. They want you to use their rip off mutual funds. Bank elsewhere.

I went to this branch today to wire transfer (require 3-5 business day and cost around $30) money for a house purchase deposit to Royal bank. Mr J Svirk suggested me to issue a bank draft and directly deposit the bank draft to Royal bank(same day and cost only $7.5). He made a phone call for me to confirm the alternative way is acceptable by the listing brokerage. print out the required information to me and passed me his business card in case someone needs to confirm the bank draft information. Wheelchair access is horrible. Brought this to their attention months ago and nothing has changed. Was in bank the other day. 10 people in line with ONE teller. Other bank employees come by the line asking if we needed anything. Answer: Yes! We need you to stop asking questions and open.up another wicket.
What a total waste of time. July 1 the bank machine at my card spent 30 minutes in a line up on my lunch break to correct it. Couldn't get in had to go back to work. Thanks for the excellent service

Been with company for 5 years. It has gotten bad. My fees are so high to use my card in any form. I get my account held depositing any amount of money. The customer service is great. The bank needs to be run more efficiently. Only ever one teller ever who is horribly over worked. At least I got use to the hour long waits

after 36 years i have decided to terminate my relationship with CIBC. They decided they wanted to hold all my deposits and freeze my bank balances and after my request to elevate my concern to a supervisor, they still refused. I have 50,000 in unused credit card limits and that still didnt seem to alter their decision to not allow me access to 100.00 of my 7500 deposit I made. ( One which was a lawyers trust account for 1000) . The billion dollar profit they just announced is too great to put up with such a small client like me. Koodos to the teller that closed all my accounts ( bailey) who was very kind and disappointed that i wasnt treated well
