We've got the feddbacks of real people like you who purchased the products of Scotiabank (Loan Agency) around Brampton territory (Canada).
Currently this firm gets a score of 2.8 stars out of 5 and the score is based on 107 reviews.
You must have seen that its rating is average, neither too high nor too low, and it's founded on a very high number of feddbacks, so we may think that the evaluation is quite credible. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they are happy with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to set scores when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Loan Agency corresponds to the category of Financial institution.
Careless management
Tough to book an appointment because it's a small branch, but staff is friendly
They always go the extra mile for me. Awesome!
After doing both personal and business banking here, I was time and time again disappointed with the lack of customer service and poor response times. Banks have come a long way in the past 20 years, but as far as overall experience goes, Scotiabank feels like it's in the dark ages.
Such an inviting friendly bank, only wish is it was open on saturdays like TD :)
Typical Cornwall level of service. Was told I'm not the owner of my own account and refused access to my funds... Don't trust these clowns with your money.
Dec 2, 2020. 3:30 PM. I went in to see if I was able to get myself a credit card, and they were being kinda nice bout it to me in person but when I left. The bank advisor was talking badly about me to a bank teller infront of the other customer that was in there with me, she had to come out and tell me herself how unprofessional they are. Never going back to this branch.
Pathetic customer service ever. Just wanted to increase my limit and agent told that I have to go to the branch as I am still registered as an international student. Though I remember clearly that they deducted $14 every month from my account as they told me I am no longer an international student. And now they are saying branch hasn’t removed you from international student list. Never ever open your account in Scotiabank. They just rob you. Only the branch staff is somewhat helpful
Worst service ever, tellers are unable to do the simplest tasks. If you need anything besides a deposit or a withdrawal go to deer lake
Not my favourite bank in the world but does the job
(Translated) Very good service (Original) Très bon service
Only bank in town that could open an account for me on the same day. Super friendly and handed me a debit card on my way out the door. Looking good!
Waiting area with 4 comfortable armchairs. Friendly and helpful staff. Quick service. Not the cleanest branch I've been though. EDIT: Closed on Boxing Day.
Horrible bank. Called 5 times told them the person they were transfering me to was not in the office for 2 weeks when shes the customer service rep. They forgot to unlock my bank account after i brought them my id and signed papers couldnt get it unlocked over the phone had to go in and do it all over again.
I used to like my scotia bank customer service in another city, but this location’s customer service is very worst, rude worker and poor management
i have had multiple appointments cancelled, the hours are horrible. almost impossible to get ahold of the person you have appointments with, i keep getting sent to the national call center. for a service i pay for, it sure seems like the cons outweigh the pros
Waiting on the line just 2 tellers getting long talks like if there is not people waiting I just get out very frustrating I guess is time to change my bank
Zero politeness. I submitted everything they asked for regarding an e-transfer and yet they ask more personal questions in a very rude way like I've done something illegal! I'm even thinking about closing the account with Scotiabank because for this bad treatment. Extremely disappointed!
Banks used to provide exception customer service. Now banks like scotiabank are billing us extra for paper copy of our transactions. We with putting our $ in the bank is whats providing jobs. Also, we try to call our bank locally but cannot anymore. It takes us to a central location and they handle the calls. Not impressed Scotiabank.Would like to find another bank but all the banks are the same.
Went in January 28 to make a big transfer. The girl with curly hair was very nice + helpful and saved me $5 with her advice. Real G move shoulda tipped her $5
Dont be a day late for a payment or use there chubb insurance they offer. Because chubb is not paying payment on time. They locked my credit card with out warning me. They actually told me that everything was fine as long as chubb made payments . Well that was a lie. Called the 1800 no one could do anything for me. I will be canceling all accounts with Scotia for not treating me like a human.
very horrible experience. the service is trash. the manager does not know what they are about it. honestly i wouldnt reccomend anyone to bank here. i am at the point where i am going to take my banking needs elsewhere. if i could rate lower i would.
Disappointed to see that wearing a mask isn't enforced. Saw at least 2 customers not wearing a mask. This is especially concerning since this branch is really small. Probably can only fit like 3 people in the queue/lineup with proper distancing. Dec 29, 2020 update: Still terrible service. Multiple people without masks allowed to enter the bank. Asian female teller mid-40s to 50s (maybe manager) was incredibly rude and was not helpful at all. Don't expect good service in here if you wear sweatpants! Will sit there talking to you in circles for 20 min instead of just outright saying they can't assist.
Bad place for banking. Sorry very upset.
The staff at ScotiaBank West Brant are always helpful and pleasant.
Deposited a small paycheck, and an even smaller certified check from an insurance company on a friday. Put a 90 dollar hold on them. Refused to release it until the following friday. Will close my account and just cash my checks at a grocery store from now on.
Excellent service by the staff at this branch, very friendly and helpful.
Gentle crew, coffee and some chairs.
Horrible service. Went in on Saturday to open a GIC account and one of the advisors asked me to come in on Monday around 9:30 am. I showed open on time but seemed like they don’t want to do the job. They told me they are too busy so try another branch. I think manager need to concentrate on the client needs and must ask their lazy employees to work rather than taking long breaks. Not going in again. Thanks
Most usless place ever i highly dought it that they are busy im seriously thinking of going to a new bank
Two bank clerks in this branch told me that their bank would charge me fees if I don't use their credit card in 12 months and urged me to cancel the credit card, which was not true when I call the helpline on the back of the card. The staffs in this branch were not properly trained and they provided misinformation to their customers. On top of that, they were not trying to help neither. The backgroup radio in this branch was very loud, like in a resturant or a market rather than a banking business. I found the radio noisy was distractive to conversations and unprofessional. Overall, I had bad experience here. I would avoid this branch.
Went in to open a bank account today and was told there are no appointments until the end of January! A month, really! Well they just lost my business. I was going to move my accounts including current investments but now BMO can have it. I only needed to wait 30 minutes to open an account with them. Wow!
So amazing they’re better then CIBC. Scota is the way to go. They value their customers
They only have 4-5 tellers now. After waiting approximately 15 minutes in line one of the tellers named Rita had the nerve to argue with me and tell me that she's not printing out my statements until there's no one in line then told me to go buy a $40 printer!!! I was completely offended and left crying. Such an awful experience and absolutely terrible customer service!
so you sell your house and the lawyer gives you a check for $77,000 which you deposit. Well the bank put a 5 business-day hold on the cheque. I wanted to pay my $25,000 line of credit at that same bank but I can't because my money is on hold. And I owe $3500 to Visa card which I can't - I called up Manager and he says sorry those are the rules. Some rules alright - trying to make more money by putting hold on the lawyer trust cheque. This is terrible recognition of customers. Too bad all accounts will be closed very soon.
Hours aren't great but the staff sure are! I can do most of my banking online but when I do need to go in the staff here are great.
Had this bank for a few years now, went in to cash a cheque today and was given such horrible service. They refused to cash it without holding it for a week, as they stated they are unsure of the company. I asked to be given more information. They seemed annoyed, and frustrated with me ( as this is their job right? To help their clients) embarrassed me in front of the line up. He was rude & embarrassing. I asked if this will happen every week when I come in , he replied with " yes it most likely will" . He seemed to be management, was not supportive to the girl trying to help me.I left with issue unresolved, worse customer service I've ever received. Especially from my own bank! Needless to say, I will be closing this account, and go where you feel appreciated, not just when you open your account. Thanks alot Mike , glad you can help the guy at the ATM, rather than giving your staff the time of day " great customer service, and leadership skills" way to go!
Recently moved here, and the service I have received at this branch working with Amy Spence, Financial Advisor, has been amazing. Very professional, thorough with explanations, most importantly patient and explains things in lingo that I can understand. She takes the time, doesn't make you feel rushed and gives alot of options for product and services that I didn't even know existed as Scotia financial tools from my previous branch in all the years I was there. Very happy with service there because of Amy and will continue using this branch because of her!
Terrible branch. Terrible customer service, unprofessional and completely disrespectful.
I wish there is a negative star on the selection to rate this Bank. Horrible customer service. I was booked for an appointment 3 days ago and when I get there, was told that there is no appointment. I informed that the booking was done over the phone, was then told that the customer service guys on the phone are not reliable to make bookings. The customer service rep and tea manager was extremely rude and had no intentions to help me. Pathetic bank and pathetic customer service. The Manager was the most rudest I have come across. Stay away from Scotia Bank.
Don't open the account here, they will harass you.
I've never used the Teller services here but use the ATM's. You can park & walk about 10 steps & your at the ATM's.
Worst Branch ever!! They don’t have enough employees. I have been standing in line for half hour and only 2 people went in since then. What kind of service is this???
Not sure how a bank runs out of bank drafts and has no other alternative to give me MY MONEY back, affirmative action in progress folks. Capable people available to fill management positions but would rather have good feels and virtue signal to hire incompetence. My 16 yo is more responsible.
Sucks
My card was encountering unauthorized transactions for which I called up this Chinguacousy-Sandlewood Branch for help. The customer service manager named 'Amber' insisted on my CVV # which I was reluctant to share. She was so stiff to help & rude. Rather than opting for other security questions, she asked me to reach out to the bank to deal with the problem. She didnot even have the customer service etiquettes and kept speaking simultaneous to my voice without giving me a chance to speak. Best part was she said 'I am ending the call now since I have explained all I wanted''...WOW !!!....the most ill-mannered customer service personal I have come across in a bank. I must say Scotia bank undertakes quite responsible and customer friendly personal at their bank..... I am even considering shifting my bank now.
They make you wait 20 minutes only to tell you to book another appointment
Interest Rate is 1/4 inflation, fees will eat all of it unless your high net worth and if you are you definitely shouldn't settle for 1%. If you want liquid funds, carry cash. If you want savings, hide it under your mattress. All of these will have roughly the same return as a 1% interest account, but won't have hundreds annually in fees. Customer service is no better than an online branchless bank, so really just carry cash or use a minimal online bank. The value proposition they offer is just nonexistent
FA Nicole Martel is wonderful, very nice and informative. Many of the other staff are very nice as well, however, there is one staff member that has been repeatedly rude. It would be unfair to give a very low rating based on one team members attitude but it is very frustrating dealing with someone who always seems annoyed to talk to any guest.
Very nice and helpful
Teresa is Awesome. Best service provided ever! She is super Friendly and Polite.????
As a newcomer to Canada I had a great first experience with this bank. Rae was very helpful and patient during our appointment. I can only recommend her.
Good service. Not too bad. Go on tym. Make yr stuff. First come first serve. Thats it. B safe. Put yr mask always on. Sanitize urself
It was good sometimes only! I have two times bad experience here
Worst experience with Sameer Dwivedi Don’t even has etiquette to deal with customer Changed my address without any proof But can’t do with proof of address (Oh i can loose my job and when i asked why you changed before eventhough i didn’t handled any proof, I tried to help you out. what a fantastic answer) Never book an appointment with him
Terrible hours for this branch. To many service fees to access my own money. Poor investment opportunities. Mortgage staff I spoke with was condescending and had little knowledge on home buying. Been with Scotiabank for several years and can't wait for an easy opportunity to jump ship.
The staff are great, both in-branch and on the phone, but unfortunately they are trapped besides so many nonsensical limitations and lack of communication from above. (The manager at this branch is also awesome, and went out of his way to help me once - contrary to company rules) If the staff were empowered with the tools needed to *actually* address the customer's needs, they would have some hope. Furthermore, the SCENE CARD program is a joke. Good luck getting any help if anything goes wrong. I once had 5000 points (worth 5 free movies) disappear (I have proof & they admitted there was a problem!) and I was sent in circles with each of Scotia, Scene and Cineplex, each blaming the other, until I gave up....but no matter. There's nowhere to use the points anywhere within 100km anyway so it's a pretty useless program. Lastly, therese's no excuse for the limited hours of this branch i today's age -- especially considering the strict policies and the Credit Rating needed just to be able to deposit through the ATM's and get cash immediately. I've was a loyal Scotia customer for over a decade, in two cities, but I almost never felt that my business i worth the company's time. We may not have a million bucks in the bank but my child and I will open accounts (his first) elsewhere (I'm thinkin' RBC: open 6 days/week - better promos - more "empowered" staff - better/easier to track fee structure, as in : no fees for as long as we're active every 90 day, OR have an investment (like the Fat RESP I'll be transferring away from Scotia) ... and therefore you can be rest assured any future additions to out line also will not bank with Scotia, not to mention when word gets our online. Upper Management could benefit from learning about the "lifetime value" of a client and those that the client relates to. I recommend a short but powerful read: "Raving Fans: A Revolutionary Approach to Customer Service" by Kenneth Blanchard. We know you can afford it. Take it out of the $300 in NSF fees I paid last year (...for under $30 of transactions) As I said, I'll miss the front-line staff... but the people upstairs need to do some serious restructuring and prioritization if they'd like to avoid a mass exodus.
Not open before 10
Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Michael Zack (Branch Manager), confirmed that if you close an account with Scotiabank, they can close the account with a balance still owing on the account. This can then in turn negatively impact your credit score to which Michael will not be willing to assist any reversal and just blame you for not checking your last statement even though the teller cuts up your cards in front of you.
The branch manager here was the most helpful person I’ve dealt with at Scotiabank. Helped me sort out a rather complicated situation getting a debit card delivered to me and was very professional and friendly.
Worst customer service ever, very rude and worst management
Excellent customer service!;
Tried to call a lot of branches and and 1800 to but takes forever when the response the phone call. I never call anymore. waste of time of this people.
Good size parking lot and friendly staff
Very friendly and explain every think love to choose this bank
Like it
Staff do not have any accountability. I went in for an appointment and there was no receptionist. I waited for about 15 minutes and walked to the tellers since they were just watching me from behind the counter. I asked them if I could see my adviser and they said they would not be taking any more appointments for the day. Rather than come over and ask me why I was waiting and how they could help me, they decided to wait behind their counters and just watch me to see if I would come to them. Mind you, they were not helping any customers at the time or working on anything, unless they could have been doing that while watching me. It is fine though. I will just be moving my mortgage and investment portfolio over to another bank.
Someone from this branch activated a Credit card in my name. NOt good.
Went to bank machine Missing $20 when the money came out. - counted it numerous time. Saw someone at door and told them but I did not get my missing $20 . One of the $20 came out sideways. Caution at this branch machine. Sad!
It's in a great spot the stuff is very well trained in what they no
The bloody drive thru machine never works and the atm machines inside work seldom... This is my 50+ time and nothing works!!! Get it together scotia
I went with my sister in law to receive service from a teller. When we were there the man who helped us was extremely kind and helpful, he was patient although there were system errors. BUT this being said, he was slightly confused (seemed new), and when he requested help from someone else, there was a larger lady with curly hair who was extremely rude and condescending to him, infront of us, which was extremely uncomfortable. We felt embarrassed and sad for this poor guy, and quite annoyed she wouldn’t just assist him rather than making it awkward for us waiting for service he didn’t know how to provide yet, while she was impatient and unkind.
Good service need more tellers
Great banking experience here! A pretty busy branch, but the staff always do their best for the customers. Coffee is available here for free, so that's awesome. Customer Service Manager here is one of the best I've seen.
Pathetic. I want to transfer my account entirely to another financial institution or to another branch of Scotia Bank in Brampton. Branch accepts a third party cheque. Bank physically checks the credential of the original payee, by calling the payee physcially to the branch. Retakes his signature, takes the payess driver's lic details, payee already has an account with another branch of Scotia Bank. Original Cheque was physically taken away by the Branch account manager. My account officially gets credited after due diligence by the branch.....24 hours later branch conventiently goes and re-debit my account for the entire cheque amount with a narration which is extremely upsetting and appalling " RETURNED CHEQUE 01427 FORGED ENDORSEMENT. Top it all the cheque was endorsed by my own son....What forgery have I done ?????? Plus nobody even took the trouble to call or even say that my account has been debited for the entire cheque amount.
The staff is very friendly
Not a fan of Banks and the Bank's choices... I do communicate concerns in their e-mail surveys. However, the genuine service I have received over the last yrs for my small business has been heart warming, kind, truthful, and effective. Thank you to the front line team for your continued efforts - Colin
Kieran Escourse was amazing , he helped me very patiently yesterday. He was very courteous-friendly , most importantly knew how to solve the issue I was having with my card. He spent about 40 minutes (called the call center) with us during his lunch time! His sense of humor kept our long conversation with the call center alive. I strongly recommend this location.
Excellent staff
Super friendly staff! Very quick and easy to get in and out and it feels like home. They also have great reward programs with their cards that very few other companies have
I have gone there but the staff was very rude they did not solve my problem their talking way was very bad ,, i naver ever experience that kind of service. I seriously wanna transfer my account to another branch. The staff at queen and chingousy, They are very loyal to customers.
Exceptional service every time
My experience at this Scotiabank branch was quite good. The staff were nice and I was able to open a chequing account quickly.
The worst customer service ever! I have never encountered such rude and unprofessional attitude from someone working in a bank! From the many calls I got from them to change my appointments every time I was booked in , to the rude and miserable attitude when I went to open an account and apply for a credit card.... awful service, never going back!
Charles guided us really well with the whole account opening process. Very nice guy, very respectful and very knowledgeable.
Miss lauria is very nice lady .she helps me alot in a very polite way. She clear all my doubts.....ad stay at line with me until m not satisfied with all my questions.very good experience.
Pathetic service .. Don’t know how to treat customers . Never listen clients issues. Need to have an appointment but not pick phone to book one ... waste of time and energy ...
I have been a customer at this branch for over 20 years. I have seen emplyees come and go and have always been welcomed by friendly faces by a team that knows my name and family.
Good Service
Set up an account to pay bills off and extra money to put up a shop. Money was supposed to be there when I needed it. When it came time to pay and access the pre a proved money it did not work. Went to bank they said oh it's not set up on your card. Went home still did not work. Went back to the bank couple days later samething... Oh it's not linked to your card. Still not able to access my money. Phoned to make an appointment. They said no we can fix this over the phone you actually need a visa card for this line of credit acount we will send you out a visafe in the mail right away. 3 weeks later no visa and still cannot access the line of credit we set up. Very frustrating.
Normal bank. Free parking but parking lot is very strangely laid out
great service
I love Scotiabank , they care about their customers and my money is secure with you guys. Everytime you solve my problems.❤️
If you make list on the basis of customer service they are below the bottom
This branch treats you like an individual not a number. I have had exceptional service here for many years
Can't be bothered to even consider a customer who's paid their car loan with no missed payments for over 3 years for a consolidation loan.
Just wanted to give a shout out to Brent and the team!! Doing a great job!
Terrible customer service , they set up the wrong plan for my account . They then charged me 174.28 service fees for said wrong account . Then it has taken over a month to reverse the charge and I still have not recieved it. My wallet and cell phone wer stolen last week and fruadulent activities wer done to my account . I was treated rudely b y staff at the bank when investigating. And my account has been frozen ever since been sent back and forth across this covid coverd town twice iverthis today alone . I wouldnt wish this bank on my worst enemy
I needed to get to the bank and they have been closed for days due to the holidays. As I was uncertain if they would be open, I called the branch and the answering machine says Courtenay branch is open from 9;30 to 4 pm today; the website says the branch is open. I drive to the branch on the icy roads to find that the doors are closed and it is locked up. HOW HARD IS IT to update your phone answering system and website to properly reflect your hours. If you can’t figure this out, how can a person trust you with their life savings. Get it together Scotia Bank, especially when traveling is dangerous to get to you.
Never have I had more hassle trying to do anything with a bank than dealing with Scotiabank. There's always something when trying their online banking. Hard to talk to anyone from the branch. I deal with TD, CIBC, ROYAL BANK and several credit card services. It seems the only one that causes me grief is Scotiabank. Come on step up your game????
Great staff.
Awful experience, my husband tried to take out a USD Money Draft from his longtime account with Scotia and was accused of drug trafficking. It was only for $110 to pay an application fee and was to be addressed to a USA State Department, in what world could that be for anything other than a government processing fee? The two people 'helping' him were deranged. They demanded a mailing address (not needed, I have since gone to TD to open an account there and no need for a mailing address to make a USD Draft) and refused to help him. We're either going to Alexandria for future in-person help or just completely shutting the accounts and moving them elsewhere with better customer service. This isn't our first I please dealing at this branch, I'm surprised they haven't been reprimanded and replaced by higher Scotiabank management. They're reflecting very poorly on the establishment as a whole.
Pathetic Service
Very Good Staff
This branch is awesome! The branch staff are pleasant. I had a concern with my banking transactions- I went to this branch to resolve it and I’m so happy it did! They were professional and I was in and out in under 20 mins! When there are lineups they move really quickly- fabulous customer service, keep up the good work!
Just don't try and phone them .... all you get is computer. I guess they don't have real people working there or are not interested in speaking with non customer inquiries.
Applied for a credit card and waited 2 weeks for it to arrive. Found out that my name was entered incorrectly into the system. They told me that they have to close the card and make me apply for a new one (and take another credit hit) and wait another 2 weeks. Will NOT be doing business with Scotia Bank in the future anymore.
Very lazy staff...
Definitely enjoy working with Ashley and the rest of the team. Also great product deals :)
Excellent place
I experienced horrible support and felt like I was being harassed by the teller. Decided to leave Scotiabank because of this.
Im not a Scotia Bank customer but friends of mine are and love the location. Lots of parking and drive through !!!
Inaccessible hours! Very hard to get into the bank during open hours.
Most pathetic branch.they disturb you by calling and when you call them back at their extensions they don’t pick up the calls. Useless s hopeless services. They take their customers for granted. I will never suggest this branch to anybody rather I will never suggest anybody to do business with scotia . Scotiabank upper middle and walkers line it’s a big shame.
Are you in a rush to get anywhere and need to wait 15-30min for a teller to serve you? Go ahead come to this branch where you're guaranteed to spend majority of your time waiting to be served. Thank god I don't do my main banking here, I would loose my hair.
Service is decent, but not enough workers during peak hours and they often let their ABMs run out of cash on weekends. To no fault of this branch the scotia bank app is also a poor experience. Often not operating for days at a time and sometimes will not allow you to transfer money. As someone who has been with scotia for 10 years I can't recommend them.
Never get Mortgage with Scotia: The WORST bank ever. Charging me 21000 Dollars, yes you heard it right 21K for moving to TD who gave me the rate of 2.48 where Scotia locked me to 3.89 and giving me a blended rate of 3.74? Crazy Bank. DON'T ever deal with them I beg you. They steal your money. No one at the Branch explained this and they agree it too... My Lawyer says Scotia is the only bank gauge you all your money.I am taking this to the Ombudsmen as I need justification.
Staff is really good but the hours are really bad.
No Empathy or Understanding of those with Mental Disability
very good service.
Worst bank on the planet
Brilliant service by Sangeeta(geeta) singh, which totally satisfied me, while other banks was sending ous back without solving our issue.
Staff is extremely friendly and well at their job and if they don't know something they find it out quickly every clerk and manager is amazing and rhe door lady/girl is always there at the door to help you or get you help I have no complaints about the Scotiabank on Parkdale and Stuart
Unprofessional as they could be, raking millions in overdraft and other fee. Can't communicate between each others and customer has to foot the bill. Only thing they know is how to dress properly and talk sweet. Don't know how to do their jobs. Everyone at this branch is clueless as deer in front of headlights. These 5 big boys are the reason, everything wrong with canada. Hope they go rekt
I’ve never had any issues with Scotiabank.
Pathetic Service, Specially Branch manager
This is a very tiny branch in a remote location with a bunch of staff with real heavy attitude! However you get enough parking space and a couple of teller machines.
Very bad experience. Me and my wife visited the branch thrice for opening an bank account and the response was very bad. I think scotia bank has many customers so they don’t want any more customers and don’t care about new customers. They told me to come tomorrow, day after and I waited for a week and wasted my time. So I visited TD and got an immediate response and opened an account in an hour.
Unprofessional people full of morons.
Pathetic service provided by their agent. I had specially booked an appointment to update my status, address and had queries regarding Credit score This person was not at all interested in replying or resolving my queries. I was asking probing questions and he was not at all interested in replying to them Simply said go online and do it. Why would I specially take a day off and come to bank in pendamic if I had to do everything online.... Had to book another appointment in Waterloo to get my work done... Really dissatisfied
Tried to contact a bank representative for more than half an hour. No one answered the phone. Customer service is very poor.
Screwed up a lump sum mortgage payment. Been 2 weeks and they still have not fixed it
Great
Terrible service especially Rubina Taylor who isn’t attentive whatsoever and ignores the actual needs of her clients.
Staff refused to fill in the form required by the province for the Property Tax Deferment Program, for reasons they had trouble articulating. I called the Scotiabank Mortgage Centre to confirm that the branch "should" supply this info - they suggested I file a complaint with Scotiabank if the branch continued to refuse to do this, as they are obliged to do this. Weird - been banking with them for over 20 years. Incompetent is politest way to describe them.
Was helpful in getting the new card and had no problems. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly. Thanks guys!
THE MACHINES ARE USELESS, u can never deposit or withdraw money & it’s frustrating because it should literally take 3 MINUTES BUT NO IT TAKES 10 JUST GET YOUR MONEY, UNACCEPTABLE!!
Service can improve
most of the time ABM machines at the branch are "temporarily down"
Uneducated tellers, unprofessionalism discrimination I went too the bank last week when an Employee who always on a gate duty to bring people in and clean and sanatize the after customer during this Global Pandemic covid19. i was stepping into the ATM machine lobby before entering the brach unit just not even for a half a mintue and she asked me to go outside while my other step was alreay out. Today while i was waiting inside the bank for a teller to call me up,, she allowed her white lady friend to be in the same lobby while other people were using atm machine too and i was on the waiting stop and they were having there chitchat. Whats the point of make people wait outside, if they are not caustious themselves.
Disappointing service. When I tried to close my account they didn't have enough cash on hand to pay it out - it wasn't a big amount. They offered a draft but refused to waive the fee for the draft. I felt treated like a criminal with more questions and ID required than imaginable.
I have been a long time customer of Scotia. I have been with this particular Branch for 18yrs. Our longtime financial officer Calla Pruegger has always looked after my wife and I very well. After Calla retired we were under some pressure from friends to move our business to the same bank as them including a new mortgage we were ready for with the purchase of a new home. We initially met with a young Lady(financial officer) by the name of Allison M. Well let me tell you that after our initial visit with Allison, we had definitely decided to stay with Scotia. We did in fact arrange our new mortgage with her/ you. She was very polite and very helpful. I really appreciate the honesty and care she provided us. Allison always makes it a point to greet us when we are in the branch. Very nice feeling! I would not ever hesitate to tell any one of my friends about her service and care for her customers. Cheers! Bernie Cormier
I had money taken out of my account by this bank or someone and have called the toll free numbers and had managers call me, I have gone to the branch and spoken to someone and they have no ideal who took the money or why it came out, this was February 5,2020 that it came out and I'am still waiting to hear from someone to find out who took it out and why for it to be put back, I cant get a hold of anyone at this branch. I am very disappointed with the service and response with this matter. I can never reach anyone by phone at branch. I have read that others with scotiabank and other banks have had the same thing happen to them. I will be switching banks if this continues and no one helps and puts the money back and gets a hold of me
Always gets the work done!!! Drove around 8 kms to get to this branch , this ones great
Terrible service, if there was an option for zero stars would have chosen that.
Nicole Henri, mortgage advisor, did not adequately disclose the requirements needed to apply for a mortgage, she misrepresented the personal information required for application, she misrepresented the finance status and what to expect from the bank, she completed three credit checks when two were completely unnecessary thereby lowering credit score, and she attempted to corner us in where we Scotia would be the only option by leading us on, not getting paperwork done until subject removal date, and not returning communications until 4pm on subject removal date. Thankfully, we were working with two others at the same time. I would not recommend her services, and I would recommend that her misrepresentations and business practices be investigated by the bank.
Terrible staffs very poorly educated on the banks policies and whatnot. The manager called me when i gave a bad review and he literally begged me to give a better review and resent me an email to "rate my experience". I mean how low do you have to be to not only dissapoint me every time im here but to beg me to change my opinion? Thays just plain sad. DO NOT BANK HERE.
I love tthis bank. They are super helpful and friendly. The atmosphere is wonderful.
Always pleasant and very helpful.
Worst hours
Change the staff and tell them how to deal with customer.
Very bad customer service,. Had to wait 30 mins in the line before got to the teller. 5 staff working, but only 1 teller. When i made a complaint to one of the staff, she ignored and started talking to another colleague that there are only 4-5 people waiting now. They don't realize people time is important
Wow wow wow! Best branch!
Making you wait to withdraw your own money and extremely extremely slow service...two very slow people at the counter with huge lineups
Not directed specifically to Cornwall branch. Fix your phone service, I can’t even call a branch directly without having to wait on a national call center line sometimes over 30 minutes, I also tried to call Scotia rewards in another instance and could never get through because everything is routed through 1 number. Worst phone service ever!! At least set up a wait time system on the rewards line and a call back so people don’t need to wait on the phone for hours to talk to someone.
Received great customer service from Geeta Singh. My husband and I wanted to open a chequing account but didn't have an appointment. Geeta was about to leave for her lunch break but instead stayed to help us set it up quickly and smoothly. Thank you!
I don't know who or what is real or fake anymore or believe anybody
I hesitate to go to this specific branch (even though it's very close to where I live )because they say no to most of the things I ask them. It happened several times that these guys said no, and I went to another branch and the answered was "Yes, it is possible".
While I have always had positive experiences at the branch, using the ScotiaBank phone system is an absolute nightmare.
Amarpreet Chawla Financial Adviser at your Chinguacousy and Sandalwood Branch gave excellent advise on Mortgage renewal.
Great staff
Went to scotia bank this morning with my husband and the spanish teller looks grouchy while she’s talking to my husband,,, she’s not a friendly person to costumer,,, i think my husband experience harassment to this bank because that lady is so rude to talk,,, so what will do this morning is leave and go to the other bank to deposit our cheques because we’re not satisfied anymore at scotia bank. I recommend royal bank and bmo they are friendly there is no problem to deposit our cheques.
Fast service
We needed official forms for our business to activate our debit card reader. Bank filled out forms with wrong transit number. Unfortunately we didnt find out till a week later because none of our debit payments were coming in. Even after scanning and email them their mistake, the manager said she didnt see anything wrong. In reality two of the numbers were backwards and we had to circle them and email her again before she admitted to her mistake. We now must wait for monday for this problem to get rectified as we had to apply for the reader again with new forms. We must now operate our business for a second weekend, without debit card reader. This has caused a world of problems for us as we have yet to receive payments made to us for the week we used our reader without knowing their was a problem. Today is the end of the month and rent payment for our business is due. Because none of our earnings for the past week were sent to the right account, we are without funds. Its the weekend now and we must operate our business without debit reader causing harm to our image and business. Do not use this branch. They are rude and will jump to blaming you even when proof is provided. Another issue we had unrelated to this was the manager questioning aspects of our life and inserting her opinions. Yes, I was a stay at home dad and there was nothing wrong with that. I worked very hard to be home for the first 3 years of my sons life and we dont care if you wouldnt let your husband do that. The manager at this branch has no business dealing with people. She is out of line and should be sent packing.
Best bank branch I’ve ever dealt with.
WORST LOCATION EVER, HANDS DOWN! I'm always disappointed every time I walk in this bank.
Horrible !!! Never go here , I deposited a draft and the teller said it would not be on hold . But the bank put my draft on hold and wasn’t able to use it .. I called the call center and they asked me to check with branch. Meanwhile I need the funds immediately too Been a scotia customer for 8 years not such terrible experience
Terrible customer service. Called and went into bank for simple service over a month ago. Still trying to get a service changed. So frustrating ???? looks like I'm going to new bank or union
Tellers are good but financial advisors absolutely have no knowledge, not even trying to find the answer.
There are service is very good thanks
Rude service from the tellers.
well today was the final straw with this branch which I have been associated with for 25 years or more .I came in with a draft from my mother's estate which I am the trustee and I got this person in the desk who does not know me and does not care .This guy would not budge on the amount I was aloud to access. No matter what info I showed he was"following policy". I went to another bank and they made it simple and polite. Worst service ever. Stay away
Terrible head teller, she is very roude and has attitude, no reasoning with her, she should learn basic manners
Good service
Great staff. Super friendly and very efficient :)
The hours are terrible..
Honestly every time i go to this branch it is one problem after another. Most times i walk in and out because the line is so long to even get to the one or two tellers they have working. Today i went in bright and early to schedule a financial advisor appointment. This branch has not available appointments for TWO WEEKS! Yes, two weeks to address my financial needs at this branch. Their staff advised me to go to another branch that is staffed more appropriately. Silly.
Awesome customer service as this Scotia bank Branch. Yeins Angel and Bailee are rock stars in customer service. Thanks Yeins and Bailee for the kind, considerate customer service!
Worst bank ever
Absolutely worst branch of Scotia bank. Staffs are rude and doesn't know what they are doing. Stay away from here
Tellers are ok, they do mistake, like transfer bigger amounts from credit card to checking account and then they try to put it on you. It was fixable. But ones when you have to go into appointment with anyone in office you are stepping into twilight zone. I am not kidding. And it is sad because people at that point need more information, help and understanding. I had a Ricardo that drag me for 3 months without any possitive outcome on a mortgage application. I understand negative response, I don't understand waisted time. Training and lots of other things in despaired need.
Very bad customer service
The Assistant bank manager is very rude and not helpful and disrespectful and should not be at all in a public workplace She will be reported to scotia bank main office.
The most how can't I help you attitude. Gotta go back to a credit union!
Very bad experience with them... They don’t care about the customer... u have to wait very long to just book an appointment with them.
i tried to make an appointment and they couldn't accommodate one in the morning. Even though i had two free weeks open for a morning appointment. They continued to make one for me later afternoon.
Slowest bank ever. Makes you wait long and there system doesn't work. Everytime I come to this stupid location there's only 2 people working!
Worseeeeee location ever they will be the reason I change banks.
I am very happy with the service provided by Amy Spence in this bank . She has lots of patience . She explained everything thoroughly and understand my condition and provided me the service within the timeframe I need . Thanks Amy again for such a great service.
Lined up out the door and only 2 tellers working while a 3rd just sits at her desk watching the line grow longer and longer.
Bad service , you have to harass people to do their jobs.
Can I record no stars? I went into this bank last Wednesday to report suspicious activity on my bank account. $6000 was taken off of my credit card and put into my checking account. Then put back. Technically no money was missing, but I was still charged a $3.50 fee, which isn't a big deal, but again, I did not complete this transaction. The tellers response; maybe you did it by mistake? Does anyone have access to your account? NO. I wouldn't be here if I could figure it out on my own. I went in for help and her advice was to call online banking. What did they say? They told me to come into the bank. The following day my card declined. I call, they don't have access to my account because my card was canceled. If I don't have access to my account and the customer service doesn't have access to my account, transfer me to someone who can help. More waiting, more automotive telephone menus, zero help. It turns out my card was canceled because my account was now -$2400, my savings account now had $.66 and my credit card is maxed in cash advances at $6500, when my credit card balance on the Wednesday was 0$. All together my accounts were compromised of $14,000, which most of that money I do not even have. Had that teller done her job properly and listened to me when I quesdtioned the suspicious transactions apposed to questioning me, this would have never happened.
Said they didn't have "that kind of money to give me " what a joke I want 4 grand for Pete sakes...have to give us notice ahead of time . Attention all . Just where is all our money . This is a poor bank ..at least that's what they're wanting me to believe...bs...if I want 10 grand ..I want my 10 grand....period
Great experience
Rude Lady at front desk. She was totally racist person. Would not go to this location anymore. And a suggestion racism leads to failure of business that you are in.
Good place
An excellent device from the lady from Iraq Thank you for you fast , professional service
Always helpful and knowledgeable staff.
Brent and Travis are always extra helpful. Wish they had US funds in bank machines.
Charging high fees for doing nothing.
Scotiabank sure makes you appreciate fusion credit union. waiting on hold routinely for large amounts of time to do business with them. Not a good experience.
assistant branch manager heather took me out of a line only to take much longer to serve me than her bank clerks. In fact the clerks were so fast they came by to help her. Just take a look at their google reviews. They don't even bother responding to them like a responsible business would.
Everyone at this bank was very helpful and kind. Farhan Younis did an amazing job at helping me open my first bank account, he explained everything with so much patience and detail. Im happy to be banking with Scotia.
Superrr baddddd service. Never gonna recommend this bank to anybody. Poorest service. No responsible financial advisors. cheapesttt place.....
Such a poor customer service.. we went to open an savings account for our daughter and the person at the counter was completely unenthusiastic and spoke with us in a very rude way that if you need to open an account than make an appointment. We were ready to make one but his customer service skills reflected negatively which resulted us moving our account to TD bank.. honestly.. Scotia Bank pull up your socks or else you will see more and more customers moving away from you.. if short staffed than hire more people but don't give such a bad customer service.. learn something from TD banks customer service staff..
Disgusting ATM service ,never work..always waste your time to and come back ,management should work on it????
Horrible customer service.
Poor service when you can't get money out your personal accounts or if you save for retirement and they put your different account that you can't withdraw with asking a investment account from the bank
I went in the branch waited 30 minutes to get to a teller I made an appointment for a mortgage specialist to call me the following week ( that was the earliest they could call lol) guess what no phone call. I tried calling the branch it connects me straight to National call centre in NS that guy was no help either not just that he disconnected the line. What an arrogant bank.
Service was very good and fast.
Worst bank there is arrived five minutes before closing to be told that I would not be getting in to get a new bank card that I should take a day off work to come and see them because they can only be open 3 hours a day no weekend hrs less then 0% respect for essential workers
Thanks Ricardo for very detailed information
Worst customer service of any scotiabank I have ever been to. They should fire everyone here.
Customer service is cool, Reason for a low rating is in the last 4 years i might have had 1 time where i was able to call. Scotiabank phone service is nonexistent. When i call i want to talk to a human.
The assistant Manager is very rude and does not respect the clients and should not work if she is just going to yell at people.
This branch decided to close my credit card out of nowhere. The branch admitted it was their mistake and did want to fix the issue. Do not conduct business with Scotiabank. The customer service was of no help, staff also have no idea how to fix their mistake. This is not something I would expect from a big bank and I am incredibly disappointed.
I would like to share about my experience. A employ named kelly is really nice I do really appreciate her hard work and the ways she tried to help me out. I’m genuinely sorry for been rude to her. Despite my rude behaviour she helped me out and understood my situation thank you Kelly saran.
I work Mon to Fri 7 to 3....bank not open on Saturday . ...not online friendly for me.
One of the best banks to give opportunities.
Convenient location in west Brant. Tons of parking and lots of other stores to shop at that plaza
Terrible experience. Money straight up stolen from me. Once I had to wire a large amount of cash, the younger man told we were short $100. Nonsense as I triple checked before I came, and checked again in my car before going inside. Forked an extra $100 because it was an urgent matter. I’m certain he pocketed my money. Other instances: twice my mother paid bills via this branch, and both times the payments were sent to the wrong accounts - all of the sudden we’re being hit with collections threat from Hydro company. She goes into branch and ask what happened to the payments, same older lady we went to for bill payments says “ooops, I put them into the wrong account! I’m getting old haha” it’s not a joking matter, this directly impacts credit score and is very time consuming to have to deal with, explaining to Hydro that it’s the bankers fault for payment issue. Absolutely terrible branch the worst experience I’ve had in a bank ever, could never recommend coming in here unless you want to be stolen from. I may be contacting Corporate in the coming days.
Was my "home branch"for 2 years. Had horrible service and they did Nothing to help me with the issues they were causing. I have no changed banks and am closing my scotia account happily never having to deal with them again
Horrible branch and bank. The worst experience. Opened an account here for my daily bank and got A credit card from Scotia was told I have to go to the branch to pick it up and have to make an appointment. I thought that was weird since every single card I've ever had has been mailed directly to me. Tried to make an appointment and no time was available after 5 on the 2 days they are open that late. Called them to move the card to a location closer to my work so I can go at my lunch time and a month and a half passes by and no call or follow up! These guys are a pain. I call the main number to find out what's going on the guy says he will mail a replacement card to my house. I was reluctant and was going to cancel but I said fine. 2 days later the manager calls me and says the card will be coming by tomorrow which is when he will mail it to my house. The next day this extremely rude lady Daniela calls me and says no they don't mail it and I have to pick it up by the tone of her voice it was obvious she could care less about helping anyone and hated her job. Back to square one! Needless to say I told her to cancel that card and will be closing my bank account as well. Worst bank! Worst staff! Do yourself a favour and avoid.
Slow service. 2 tellers people waiting in line .15 minutes TOTAL
(Feb 18) I would like to thank Lisa as well as the young man behind the counter for all their help today.
Worst branch ever. LAZY staff. Never going to this branch ever again!!!!!!
If you ask for something they always say we can't do that. Always negative. If I drive to taber or Vauxhall they are always happy to help. Thank you Scotiabank Vauxhall
They took away Broadway Branch..made the new branch smaller..there are times when people are lined up outside the bank. They certainly weren't thinking about the aging population.
I didn't had option to put zero star otherwise I would choose zero. Management of this Scotia Bank Branch should be changed. Very irresponsible manager who don't know how to manage the thing's.
Went in today to find out that Scotiabank charged my young children a $20 fee for inactivity on their account. Now I have to explain to them that the bank took part of their birthday/Christmas savings for service fees. Shame on you.
Worst customer service!! I’m not even a customer at Scotiabank! We booked an appointment to open an account for my daughter and there was nothing available for three weeks! so we basically waited for that long just to go and and be told that there was no appointment made and that the person we’re supposed to meet had left for the day!!!!! Mind you we booked the appointment in person and the card they gave us had that date and time on it. After explaining this all to them they took about a half hour to figure things out and didn’t even come up with a solution. They walked away from us without a care in the world.
Posted hours says open until 4:30 on Sundays. Drove all the way across town to come here and they're closed. Very disappointed. Please update hours of operation. ????????????
Hours are not good at all. Customer service is good.
Busy location but lineup moving fast. Very friendly and efficient service! I'm very pleased and totally recommend this branch for your banking needs.
Worst staff…bunch of loosers
Due to a family matter, I have had to deal with Scotiabank. The staff are amazing. Very professional and friendly.
Never solve problems. Customers service????????
I work days till 530pm. Can't do all my banking online. Hours need to be readjusted.
So far so good. The people we are dealt with are nice, responsive and professional
It's a bank. Never had any problem and tellers have always been helpful.
Extremely pleasant and professional at this branch, would highly recommend
I am not a customer at this bank, never been to this bank but an unflattering review was written using my name. I must emphasize, I did not write a review for this banks services.
choice any other bank will be a wise choice, Scotia' CS in Ontario is worse than Walmart!!
Used Scotia for years - never issues until I switched and made this my home branch. Every person we dealt with has provided various answers and no one seems to take ownership, knowledge seems to be lacking here. Will never return to this branch.
THREE weeks to get an appointment??? RIDICULOUS...
Great service friendly staff
Can somebody please explain why a bank would not have any late hours during the week? How are people supposed to get weekday banking done if they work 9-5? There should be a couple days a week that you guys are open til 6 or 8. The only people who can go to the bank 9-5 monday to friday are shift workers and the unemployed. Terrible bank.
Worst banking experience ever. They needed multiple ID's- more than 2 to prove myself and I was being in person in their bank and confirmed all the information that was asked. I closed 3 credit cards and savings account just the because the management doesn't know how to use common sense. Been using it for 5 years and Finally it's time I'm done with the Scotiabank- terrible bank and worst customer service.
The only bank I've ever had since 15 years old, I have moved plenty but I refuse to leave my Scotia, 41 years of the best service ever !!
Do not use Scotiabank if you dont have to. We were clients for 15 years and went to talk to them about renewing our mortgage but we were close to buying a new home and wanted a mortgage that could roll over. Their were no options and interest rates offered were way higher than competition. So we went to a broker and got a much better rate. We signed documents to prepare to receive a payout and put into a 6 month open just in case. We did electronic signatures which apparently they dont accept even though every other bank does. So we resigned documents and still got in 2 days before the deadline. Scotiabank refused to honor that I put us in a 6 month closed mortgage and in order to get out of that we had a penalty of $1200. Their assistant manager agreed it wasnt right, but the manager refused to concede and stuck us with a $1200 penalty. I will tell every single person I know about this and make sure it doesnt happen to anyone else. Customer loyalty means nothing to them.
horrible hours, I would not suggest this branch to anyone.
Very friendly and nice staff.Treat you like a family member.Always assist you to get your work done ,fast and perfect.
About the only Bank in town where one does NOT have to stand in line AND they all know my name !! I think that's a good thing :) GREAT staff and GREAT service
I have very bad experience with this bank a specially with amarpreet
I was racially profiled at the branch today. The manager Tatiana couldn't even provide a decent explanation when faced with the fact that a white person got away with the same transaction I came in for without questions. If you are black, you are better off going to the appleby location thier staffs are much better trained and experienced.
Very good customer service and very friendly caring compassionate staff I love Scotia Bank.
Very frustrating when you go to deposit money into your Momentum Savings Account and the tellers are not trained and/or every other person has their own way of doing it. Sometimes it's deposited in less than two minutes but other times like today, it takes almost 15 minutes to figure it out. What's concerning is the lady today told me it has to be done this way so what about the previous deposits that were done quickly and efficiently. Did they get deposited incorrectly? Frustrating to say the least.
Such a useless branch. Always short of cash and make you wait for over 20 mins to give money.
Wish they had better atm hours
Wish I could give 0 stars. Horrible customer service, bank manager Arron Murray useless. This bank gave me the run around for 3 months everyone saying that someone else was the one who could help. Don't waste your time put your money elsewhere.
I should have read the reviews before going there to try and open an account. Truly the worst service I have ever experienced. I was told to make an appointment and come in the next day only to be told that I dont have proof of address such as a utility bill even though I have only been in Canada for 2 weeks. The lady was not helpful at all. I was however able to open an account at the Highland branch the same day using the same documents with no issues at all. Something need to be done instead of ignoring all these reviews. I would give this branch a zero rating if I could.
Worst customer service!! I've been with Scotiabank for 20 years my wife and I where lied to as well miss informed and they branch did acknowledged it and did nothing to fix the issue I have switched over my mortgage and on the process of switching our banking and looking into legal actions
Hours are very limited and banking technology is years behind other Canadian banks for today personal banking needs
