Very poor experience with this company. I spoke to a "customer service" representative who was extremely rude and condescending. My complaint about this was met with a phone call that did not address this whatsoever. I will NEVER use this company again. I am not sure why retailers are pushing people to use them to defer payments, and I will be relaying this to my chosen retailers who for some reason suggested I use them. This will never happen again. UPDATE-I emailed as you instructed below-nobody called me, again not addressed. Wasted my time again. You say customer service is your priority? I had a really fun time, who doesn't when they're approved for a loan with only fair credit? Huh?! I was excited and am totally going to stay on their good side and keep up with the payments. I budgeted it out so I should be good. The staff there are really friendly, laugh, get the job done, correctly I might add. By my mistake I agreed to buy insurance which for I am already covered and once realizing the numbers didn't add up, either that or they're crazy! I phoned left message, played a little phone tag and finally reached her coming to the conclusion that I said yes when she asked about life insurance policy. (Guess I wasn't paying that close of attention, whoops!) So anyways, she gave me the solution, a number to call and follow prompts and cancel the insurance! Not only that, they're sending me a cheque for $325.76 How can it get any better or luckier than this!? So thank you Neha and Fair stone employees, you made me one happy gal! Had an auto loan with Fairstone. Got into an accident MPI wrote off my vehicle , was enough to may off my loan plus have some extra to put down payment on next vehicle. Took the MPI cheque to them as has both our names on it. No problem applied the cheque to my loan woohoo paid off. Unfortunately they have a policy in place that they don’t pay the overage back to you for 20 business days. I had counted on the money to put a down payment on another vehicle, but now have to wait and be without a vehicle for another month, which means I have to rely on other people for rides. Don’t go here. The banks don’t even put a 20 business day hold on cheques.

At the time you do get a solution, but you do end up paying high interest, which is understandable. Problem is their after service, I paid off all my loan and then called to confirm as well. I was told all is good and a clearance letter will be sent soon. That never happened, instead got a call that i still owe 16cents.That was outrageous as i had called in to confirm, anyhow. the rep that day said don't worry. i'll open up a complaint and it'll be solved. a month later another call, you owe us 22cents... I don't understand why BestBuy wants to associate with these loan sharks. I had a zero balance on my account and they still want to charge me $35 "Membership fee". I had to call and they did waive it, but got the whole "We don't usually do this … BUT..." talk. They refunded me the $35 because of how fast i paid off the loan and the fact that I was barely a month into the new "Membership" year. Be carful if you must finance with these guys, close your account ASAP after you pay off the balance. Jesus, you are paying a fee there should be a cash back/benefits program. This is fraud.

Really enjoyed each visit so far. I have been in before with updates to my account. They have made getting my credit score up so easy, my credit rating increased by 30 points just within my first 3 months. And it's very reasonable for the interest, and you aren't locked into the term length. You can pay it off faster and save time and money. Will recommend for larger amount loans and if anyone is interested in correcting a low or bad credit score.

BUT, when I ask to put everything back to normal, they say that no changes can be made without a signature in person....so how did they made the changes without my conscent and signature? Too bad you can't give zero stars. These parasites somehow obtained our contact information and mailed a slimy "loan card" to our home. When I asked how they obtained our info the rude gentleman said we must have signed up for loans with them or one of their retailers. WE HAVE NOT. He was curt, rude and awful to deal with. I encourage anyone who has had unsolicited contact from these people to report them to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner.

These guys keep sending me cards in the mail. And I never heard of them so how they get my information they're just like the guys that call you over the phone to scam! One day I decided to call and give it a try, I asked the guy if applying will affect my credit score and he said no. He claims what he's using to pull it will not cost me any points. As I have a plan with Equifax so I checked my credit score 2 weeks later 14 points was gone and there was a new alert fairstone request. I called Equifax and they told me the reason why my score drop was because fairstone did a check using there system! Wish there was a -0 star ???? because that's what they should get -0 ????. Don't lie just tell me the truth portably didn't think I would check.stop send people cards in the mail if your company is good people will find you and recommend you! Stop scamming! Where did y'all get my information address and all that when I never heard of y'all!

finally paid "unfairstone" off. Never again. Don't do it. do I get to charge a ridiculous amount of interest for the money you now owe me? seeing as I over paid my last bill, I also wonder how long it would have taken for some one to reach out to me? it was only a month ago. Good riddance. in 2016 I purchased furniture from a store in st.jacobs. I was provided 3 options for payments and I chose 2 years. I made all of my payments on time except for one.. Every single payment made well OVER the minimum requested payment. When it came to the 2 years it was less than $100 balance owing. WHAT HAPPENS? I am charged interest on the entire amount owing and already paid... how can you charge interest for money that I have already paid? I could fully understand charging your stupid interest amount on the balance owing, but not something I've paid off. Also it was said I agreed to conditions (in 2016) over the phone when trying to sort out the mess with your rep in 2018. That's a lie. I never spoke on the phone agreeing to these terms to pay x amount of money when I made my "purchase" at the furniture store in 2016. The company was Citi Financial at the time, and the application was filed through an employee at the furniture store at a customer desk. When given my terms of conditions this was not noted to me. I will never ever get financing of any kind from any institution related to you. I will continue to share my story, but your tactics will be what really gives you the bad name. you owe me $3.61. I'll be expecting a cheque in the mail. I've already spoke to a rep on the phone and have been reassured I will get it. But considering he with held information and acted like no one owes anyone anything. Then he said he couldn't look up the balance owing the day before I made my last payment, until I asked for a supervisor. FOR anyone considering using them, DONT. save yourself the stress.

These people are robbers. First they drag you in give you a loan and tell you that's the max they can offer . Once you make your first payment then they bombard you with phone calls telling you more money is available to you. Yes at almost 50% interest. I wanted to pay them off and that is proving to be very difficult. They say it takes 5 days to make a call or send an email to head office because they are the only ones who can give a final balance. I also paid off other people at the same time and they have all received there monies and closed mu accounts....everyone except City Financial or Fairstone as they call themselves now. It is Oct 5th and they are still taking monies out of my account. Is that something like the cheque is in the mail?? DO NOT BORROW FROM THIS PLACE.

I had to stop in to write a review. This is my 3rd time going to Fairstone in Membertou, Nova Scotia. I continue to request Courtney Mancini as my representative. I do so because she wastes no time. She gets right down to what you need and will go above and beyond to help you with it all. Once you build a reputation with them. They call to check up, make sure things are okay and if you need anything at all. If you have any questions at all or need reassurance they immediately clarify it. When you walk in all the staff looks up and smiles and welcomes you. It makes you feel more comfortable with the experience. Everyone is scared of high interest loans. From my experience I just made as many payments as I could and lump sums. Remember extra payments are interest free. So my loans are paid off quicker than usual. However they do have long term options to lower payments for you. Which is wonderful for people who are on a strict budget. Its a great option for people who are just establishing credit. You'll notice that your score will go up gradually. I found it hard for myself to find someone who would give me a chance. Yesterday I called with a question about getting a loan around 2pm and by 9pm lastnight my money was directly deposted into my account. No hassel. I highly recommend them and of course Courtney is my go to. I've built trust with her as my representative and I hope your experience will be just as great as mine. Thanks for everything! Got the loan last week, but did not cash the cheques yet for a good reason. I felt rushed signing the contract. But when I read it over at home, I saw they still charged me $1400 for the insurance even though I declined it. I called the office on Kingsway three times but they didn’t answer and this was during their office hours! So I blocked my number and they answered the phone on the first ring. Interesting?! I told the person that the insurance needed to be taken off my loan but he said the payments won’t change but the loan would be paid off faster?!? What does that Even mean?? I did the math and my payments should go down at least $15.00! I told him I was upset because 1) I was rushed to sign the contract before I could sign it, 2) the insurance was still on the contract even though I declined it, 3) I was told the interest was 3.08% per month, but not even close, it’s much higher. I told him that I was going to make a formal complaint against them because they were not honest! He apologized so I’ll be going back to the office on Kingsway and they better fix the loan to what I wanted, because this is what they stated (advertised) when they first have the initial conversation with you.

I truly wish i could give this a no star!!! What a flipping joke this company is. We have bought furniture for no interest for 3 years and equal payments. We set up the payment for automatic withdraws and for 2 years 9 months non issues then fairstone put a membership fee on our account making it over drawn by $10. Then the phone calls every 2 hours start and call your work and call with auto voice messges to call them back. Then when you do actually get a real person, they avoid the memebership fee talk and cant answer any questions and i have to call customer service. Stay away from this company its all good until you come close yo paying the original amount off then they try everything to make you delinquent so you have to pay the enormous interest charges!

Wow not happy. Years ago I cosigned for a friend, and when he didn't pay it, I was contacted and told that if I paid half of it off immediately (which was quite a large sum) my name would be taken off. So of course I did this. Years later when trying to apply for credit, I'm told my name is still on this. When calling, they refuse to help me, telling me theyve sold off the loan and refuse to give me a legal letter of release. So basically I was lied to, to get an instant large amount of money. Really great lying to a student who was taken advantage of.

After making an error on my application, I called the number to fix the situation, and was blatantly insulted and patronized for putting in the wrong postal code. She tried ending the call several times after I gave her the correct information, making very clear that she had no interest in helping. I have never experienced such a lack of customer care and disrespect with any service. Absolutely do get your payments deferred... because when I really needed to do so from losing my job. I had 6 months of payments deferred, great they helped me for 6 months. No big deal right, but it has been 4+ years since then. An it seems that my loan lenth has double in length. I have never missed a payment in that time. And only 90$ of the 410$ monthly payment goes towards the princinple amount of my loan now They say its because of my deferred payments for only 6 months as the reason for the extra time and payments. So now my loan is for what like a 20 year 25 year loan?. Iv been paying for 8 years now of a 10 year loan And am not even close to havng payed it off. So what another10 years... maybe.. Never never getting another loan here. I would not recommend anyone to come here. .

Worst of all they started harassing you at your work. Finally ,i was able to fully paid my loan. Now they started to call me again to offer me a new loan. When I first visited this branch, i was met at the door by Prabh, who was very polite and professional when he addressed me. I was a little uncomfortable/ embarrassed having to come there. He took me into one of the offices which made it, a little more comfortable, to be able to talk openly about my financial situation. I was approved on the spot and within an hour I left with all my finances in place, I was explained additional products, with great detail, and how they can help me later if I was unable to pay due to illness or injury. Prabh was very knowledgeable and came up with a great plan that helped me manage my financial strain. I have since called/visited this branch numerous amount of times, each time I was helped in the same, kind, pleasant and professional manner, by all the staff. The manager of this location could use some fragrance as she smells like a carton of cigarettes. I was not impressed with my visit here. They lie on the phone, or "fraud" information to get you approved. Then when comes down to it the employee blames being "new" to the company, and simply trys to blame the customer, meanwhile the manager doesn't seem to care at all. I think she gets some kind of kick out of humiliating others. I think she needs more of an outlook on people's situations and not to treat a potential customer as the bad person. I think also she needs to be involved with her staff because if they are doing shifty stuff then she should be looking into it. I wouldn't reccomend this place to ANYONE.

This would have gotten a higher rating had they not initially offered my wife what she was eligible for. Instead of giving her one thing, then a few days later calling her personally and offering her more. JUST to take away that very same offer from her maybe an hour before her scheduled appointment. Which was a day or so later. Leaving us to scramble now, thinking we had extra funds to count on. Now i have to go and apply myself, leaving work early and now made to take two seperate taxis back and fourth in hopes to be approved. Absolutely ridiculous how they offer one thing, then one hour before your appointment they call and take that same offer away from you.

Terrible service. Called my local fairstone (as I have an account with them) to inquire about general questions, and they transfer me to other numbers which prompt you to automated voice options only. Will not allow you to speak to someone directly, so I call back to the local fairstone and they say they have no clue what to tell me and not sure what to say. Do not recommend.

I asked for a 21000 loan due to bills adding up from a divorce, i was paying big interest on a credit card that the ex racked up and was late for payment and i had no other choice and i had a WEEK to pay it in full or i would be in court for the dept and wanted to pay it off so it did not wreck my credit and was planning on paying off the fiar stone dept in 4 months. asked for $21000 a week prior, when i got there a week later and needed the money she had approved me and did the paper work for $31,0000, i had no other choice but to take the $31,000 and pay the dept but now i have to pay extra fines and penitlys and high interest payments. dont get a loan here if your in a rush because they will screw you every corner they have.
