After having a broker that wasn't getting the job done with only 3 days left before having to waive the condition of financing, saw Darick on Google with hours until 10pm! Figured with hours like that he'd take the time to get the job done. Darick gave me a call back around 10:30pm, we hammered out the details until about 11:45 on that night. Sure enough we had a conditional financing letter from the lender 24hrs later! For the next 60 days the lender had us jumping through hoops of fire when it came to documentation. While frustrating, Daricks team (shoutout to Drew) ALWAYS answered my calls or got back to me right away to figure it out. In the end, my family and I got the morgage and are now in the house of our dreams. Highly recommend giving Darick and his team a call especially if you are a first time homebuyer and need someone willing to take the time and help you through a stressful time. Thank you!

I’m extremely disappointed with our awful and unbelievably stressful experience with Darick, and recommend others AVOID considering his services. We nearly ended up losing our dream home, and our relationship with the seller unfortunately became extremely sour due to his lack of communication/motivation, disorganization and dishonesty that repeatedly delayed the entire process. Others we’ve spoken with have also had HORRIBLE experiences akin to our own, and I’d like to share our story to caution others. My fiancé primarily dealt with Darick and no doubt grew some grey hairs after this experience. Darick quoted us at what seemed like a remarkably low mortgage rate and promised to land us the mortgage we needed for our dream home without issue. Even though others warned that his quoted rate seemed too good to be true, Darick assured us that he could acquire this rate and have no issue securing us financing. To avoid losing our dream house, we decided to put an offer in right away after Darick promised us this, which was accepted and contingent on financing. Not long after, however, we didn’t hear a word from Darick. It took several attempts over the course of weeks before he finally responded to us and acted as though he didn’t remember us or our situation. We had to re-send him all of our documents again (for some reason he apparently no longer had the original documents we sent) and we had to stay on top of him to simply carry out the preapproval process. He did not appear interested in our business at this point for some reason, and it was nearly IMPOSSIBLE to keep him motivated and on track while keeping us informed as to his progress (there ended up not being any). We grew increasingly frustrated by his lack of replies or updates, and we had to continually make excuses to the seller before amending the closing date on TWO separate occasions, which angered them to the point they said they WILL NOT push it back a third time. Our relationships with them started out very positive but unfortunately deteriorated after our repeated excuses on behalf of Darick’s incompetence. What should have taken days to secure financing now turned into about 6 weeks. The occasions where Darick did reply to us were vague and further false promises that he’d have financing options “in another day or 2” while asking for further basic documents that he should have already asked for, or asking us for the same documents yet again. On each of these occasions, 3-4 days would pass with no word from Darick before we would again request updates, and remind him that we needed this done urgently, require regular updates and better communication. After this back and forth nearly a half dozen times of no updates or progress, we figured Darick FORGOT ABOUT US YET AGAIN and did not take us seriously, so we finally went with a different broker who quickly and easily found us a lender a few days later (although at a slightly higher, more realistic rate than what Darick promised, and who stated that there’s NO WAY Darick’s rate was legitimate). We just made it by a hair. As we were explaining our HORRIBLE experience (regarding Darick) to our new broker, he stopped us and asked if we were originally dealing with Darick Battaglia. Wondering how he knew, we just laughed and said yes, to which he explained that Darick has a VERY POOR reputation and many clients go to him after their experience with Darick. Wish we knew this sooner! We also didn’t find it professional for Darick to call us “buddy”, constantly spell our names wrong, or call us by the wrong names entirely. Ignore the radio ads and “good reviews”...STEER CLEAR OF DARICK BATTAGLIA!! Or risk the consequential grey hairs that my fiancé suffered! Updated Response to Darick: Your perplexity doesn’t surprise us considering that was your demeanour throughout our experience with you, and just further proves your lack of organization. As I said, you primarily dealt with my fiancé, you kept calling us the wrong names, spelling them incorrectly or forgetting who we were entirely.

I contacted Darick to obtain a mortgage on a property for $950,000 due to advertising I heard on the radio. Nice jingle and what not but It was a rollercoaster of ups and downs - overall the stress is just not worth it. Doesn't reply to emails/texts/phone calls which in the end resulted in lost money and time and almost the property. There was also hidden fee's he never disclosed upfront and waited till I was locked in and had no choice but to pay them. When I confronted him he became aggressive and could not handle criticism and began to go a tyrant of rage behind his computer screen to respond.

Made the mistake of going with Darick a while back based on these reviews. I’m refinancing now and reminded of that frustrating experience, so warning others to read these glowing reviews with caution and skepticism...I see another reviewer has since had a similar experience as us. Couldn’t get him to buckle down on his job and keep us in the loop as to what was going on. We had to reach out to him numerous times after he’d repeatedly leave us in the dark despite us being under a tight timeframe as this process dragged on, which he was aware of. Even when he’d respond, there was no progress and only additional excuses. He promised an excellent rate, which he couldn’t deliver even weeks later (many false promises that frustrated us), in fact he couldn’t find us any rate at all. I remember we had to resend all of our documents (some a third time) since he seemed to have lost or misplaced them...pretty concerning considering their importance. He was very unorganized and had some of the worst communication skills I’ve ever experienced (in terms of updating us, professionalism, and overall clarity). He seemed to just keep forgetting about us and lacked much concern. He didn’t even notice when we finally gave up, ceased contacting him any further, and went to another broker who landed us an excellent rate a mere days later. Seemingly nice fella, but what an absolute pain to deal with and difficult to trust. Darick...if you’re going to ask that I contact you, forget it, buddy. I wasted enough of my time, and your concern is too little, too late. It should have been shown a long ago fella. Still pretty ticked even to this day.

Although long overdue, my recommendation of Darick and his team is just as relevant today. I first contacted Darick back in 2012 with a mortgage question via text message, not expecting to hear back as quickly as I did. Not only was he immediately responsive, he was also ready to immediately assist. Derrick was a huge help for me in finding a great rate for my first mortgage, was continuously in contact with me by text and email. I was considering doing a 10 year fixed mortgage at 3.6% but he was able to get me a much lower 5 year fixed rate and did some figures for me, he told me if I were to do the 5 year fixed and make the same payments as I would have with the 10 year fixed I would cut down the principle much quicker. Very helpful and great service. Highly recommend!
