I find the tellers are quite racist in their attitudes towards people of colour. It is very disheartening & humiliating to bank at RBC in Canmore. For instance, even if you take in a bank draft to be deposited, they still question your credibility if you the one making the deposit are a visible minority. It's really awful at the Canmore branch. I have never experienced anything like it at any of the other banks in Canmore.
I think the ladies are very nice to their customers. They make sure they have met all of your needs.
One star given since I can't put 0. Absolutely the worst customer service and worst treatment I've received in Canada. Go somewhere else.

The absolute worst experience I've ever had in a bank. Despite being my "home branch" (where I opened my first account in grade 7) - and knowing me and my family for decades - the 'assistant branch manager' (not a real title btw) decided to arbitrarily and without any reason put a 15 day hold on a cheque I have been cashing for years from a giant, reputable source that has never bounced a cheque in their existence - when told I would then be closing my account the assistant branch manager had zero reservations and rushed to train her new employee how to permanently close my account, not only losing my future business forever but seeing zero value in the decades of business history we have. All this ridiculous behavior over a $1500 USD cheque. What an embarrassing way to conduct yourself as a once respectable pillar of a community. I've been walking into that exact branch since I was in diapers and used to know all the employees because I went to school with their kids. Used to be considered family there and now I'm just a number they have no respect for whatsoever. Then I called corporate complaint line and their COMPLAINT VOICEMAIL INBOX FOR THE ENTIRE COUNTRY WAS FULL! HAHAHA! I wonder why. Can't wait till this failed institution rightfully collapses.
Had to contact RBC, for a very important movement of investment money, for retirement purposes. I have a investment person indeal with, couldn't get her onnher phone, left a message 24hours ago. Decided to call the branch here in moose jaw, couldn't get through without a client card. Het assistant had a phone number, call that, got a message saying she was away until September 3, and call this 1800 number for further assistance. I called, got a person, not from this province, saying my representative was no longer taking appointments or cliebts in the foreseeable future. WHAT!!! im already a client. I'm serious and going to gonwith Conexus credit union. Over half a million dollars in pension monies lost yo RBC
The RBC Canmore Branch Manager is extremely rude. The amount of poor customer service / attitude I've witnessed and received has caused me to close all my accounts with this bank entirely to avoid this one awful employee. Do yourself a favor, walk down the street and open an account with BMO. 0/5 rating.
I wish I could give them a negative number. I've had two instances where funds were taken out of my bank, by mistake from businesses that that I direct deposit to and I have given them a written letter saying it was a mistake and RBC representatives say that the business is responsible for refunding the NSF because they took out the money.... So, here I am with -$90 because of this bank robbing me. N Another thing is,to they have changed their entire phone system to a voice automated system that will hang up on you if you don't give it the correct response in time and does not ever connect you to a real person.
This usury organization made me do multiple transactions to charge me service fees each time total of $6 for $800. When are we going to stand up as a society to these organizations.

After having some unexplained fees being withdrawn from my fiancees bank account, and no help with the customer service telephone line, we went into the branch and dealt with Sally, who not only solved all of our concerns but also graciously refunded the unexpected overdraft fee that my fiancee incurred as well. Sally is a definite asset to this branch, and her commitment to customer service and resolution is second to none.

I have been a life long RBC customer. But no more because of this branch! Someone at this branch was cause of my removal of a longstanding FX arrangement with my previous branch in Mississauga. It cost me thousands of dollars. I am slowly leaving RBC for life as a result. These people are terrible.

No Saturday service anymore, I needed some teller services on my only day off. They have been good to deal with when they are open at least. Just noticed the Credit Union is open Saturdays... will be opening an account there today.

Not one to leave bad reviews ever but wow some of the employees had no idea what they were doing. For somebody that worked at a bank I would ask my manager/resource team if I’m not sure about a particular situation but they kept feeding me false information which I only find out after calling the call centre. The branch also told me that they would call me regarding info of my problem but never ended doing so. Hope they start reading these reviews and fix something.

Everything has 5 starts until they make a mistake. Friendly staff, not much waiting time, nice place. Then we get to the 1 star rating. Suddenly, the RBC becomes vague, elusive and tries to pin the problem on you when they make a mistake. Customer Service refuses to deal via email -phone calls only.. I guess we we will have to set up Quality Assurance audio tapes when we need to speak to them.

The only RBC bank machine in a city of 25,000 people is located here as they have removed all of the other RBC bank machines.The bumper car parking lot is so small and always full that you often can't park here to use the bank or machine.The proprietors of the local pizza joint and chinese restaurant park here as well.Sometimes you have to drive around in circles for half the day until a parking spot becomes available.You often have to park in the parking lot of other businesses in the area and risk getting towed or getting a parking ticket. Many folks have no choice but to park on grassy knolls or behind dumpsters to be able to go in and use their bank.Terrible situation.Show some respect to your customers but I guess RBC makes so much money that they don't care about the folks that keep them in business.

This location used to have the best hours for inbranch service. Till 6pm on thursdays, open till 3pm on Saturdays, 5pm all other days. I guess the only people that bank are people that dont work. I left Scotiabank because of the aweful hours.

I echo what others said in the comment, Branch manager told me I can’t stand in business line unless I am doing a large transaction. If so you should put up a sign says “business line only for large transaction”. RUDE SERVICE, the first time in my life I do not want to bank with RBC.

I am with the military and needed a piece of paper signed saying I was in Elliot Lake. But for some reason the tellers couldn’t just fill out the four pieces of information on the paper, such as the date, place, who signed it, and what their position was in the bank. Hopefully the stamp they could put on it is enough for the military admin, at least it has the place and date. I don’t know why they couldn’t sign the paper, they did so in the past.

Awful service. I receive my payroll via cheque, and had it set up with RBC that they wouldn’t hold my payroll like a normal cheque deposit. Everything was fine for a long time until they changed it without my knowledge and starting holding it (for five business days). They refuse to release my funds, and refused to change my account settings back to what they were. They were condescending and rude over the phone, and in person. I’ve been an RBC customer for 8 years and this is what they do. I am closing my account as soon as my payroll is released this week.
Have had an account with them since 2012 haven't had a financial review since 2013 horrible customer service. There was a time when banks proactively tried to serve there customers not the case at this location. Have been moving accounts investments elsewhere over the last couple years they do not even make an effort to keep your business. There are much better options out there.
Took over an hour just to open an account, they tried to deviate from original reason to come in multiple times. I dont think its hard to understand a simple "i would like to open another checking account". It should in no way turn into an hour long ordeal with peaople talking french in front of an english client. Not impressed with the customer service so guess what lol ill never be by to open one, and i would never recommend to any family or friends. My recommendation was always and will remain the Caisse Populaire
Slowest service I have ever encountered
This manager and lady’s working the desks at this bank are absolutely amazing. I am in cranbrook working and had someone committing fraud with my ID on my bank account back in Saskatchewan. The lady’s went above and beyond to help me here in cranbrook bc and make my life less stressful.

Apparently the bank considers their employees more valuable or susceptible to covid 19 than the people working every day in grocery stores, pharmacies, and all the other essential services. They have shut down personal service and are forcing people to use bank machines, on line or phone. This is nothing more than the bank taking advantage of a very difficult time in history to push their agenda of less service, more fees for less service and less responsibility as people do their own banking. I would give this bank negative stars for their behaviour during these difficult times.
Impossible to speak to anyone on the phone. The robot hung up on me! Hey RBC how about spending some of the massive profits that you “earned “ during the pandemic on some employees in customer service. One star is too generous!
RBC is only interested in making money and not interested in helping people or community (beyond lip service). I have a dream job, good credit and was approved for a line of credit at 20% but denied a personal loan at 8% which was 10000 less than the line of credit. This is simply greed.

I've dealt with many RBC branches accross Canada and this branch is in the top 2. Joanne and Michelle are excellant at their jobs and area of expertise. Michelle has gone out of her way to help me with my banking needs. She also looked into arears that will save me money in the long run. I appreciate both ladies and the small talks we have. At this branch your not just a number.
Dealt with RBC my whole life prior to my mortgage. you start the process waiting on hold for huge amounts of time just to talk to someone in god knows where. Then talk to mortgage person who initially says that with a new Modular home they will finance 90% of building costs. Later once house is on its way learn that they wont be covering any building costs in the mortgage after we completed the initial work before the house arrives. Nothing but a terrible experience from start to finish. I recommend going anywhere else especially if you are a first time home buyer as there is little to no guidance throughout the whole process. Thanks for screwing us RBC.

I would recommend to bank anywhere else than this branch! Over the past several years of dealing with thier management i can honestly tell you this bank is beyond incompetent and at the very least have extremely questionable practices. The bank manager is a bold face liar and should not be trusted. Again i would caution anyone to not deal at that bank. On a positive note the front end staff is good. The manager is a lying spineless wiesel.

10/10 the most inconsiderate worst customer service i have ever recieved from i believe her name is Janet. Went in to figure out a locked bank account and it took upwards of 30 mins to recieve absolutely nothing but sass and disrespect. You my dear should NOT be a bank teller. Give your customers some respect, RBC just lost 4 of its clients due to your lack of respect and level of pityful excuse for customer service. I told her i had to go because my baby was at home crying and she still told me to aait to talk to a manage. Like no, my baby is crying means im leaving. TERRIBLE. RUDE. DISRESPECTFUL STAFF. I came into the bank to deposit some money. The lady (who was a senior advisor) refused me service and claimed she didn't have time. There was nobody in line... When I called customer service and complained about this, they said they will give me a call back within 2-3 business days. Today I have not received a single call. Avoid this disgusting bank at all costs.
Looking to set up an RRSP account first I wanted to change some peso's at the front counter the front desk clerk laughed when I first took out some change said they don't take change. After pulling out my bills she said I cant do it for non members. Plan on getting new members? Try to be a little more respectful.

Got a payment i didnt make wanted a stop payment or to take them for fraud a customer service guy told me to cancel my card i said NO I DIDNT WANT TO DO THAT. He said id be at fault to go. For them for taking a payment said the claim department i should go through is closed he will transfer me to leave a message and than all calls drop. He than proceeds to cancel my card no indication and i find out through all ny payments being stopped phone again today to say what is going on and the girl pretty much says its my fault. Worse service ive ever had.

Absolutely amazing staff, extremely helpful. 4 banks would not let me open an account because of lack of available staff apparently. But Allisa at RBC had me an account within the hour. Never had a more easier banking experience.
