Here you have all the information of real people like you who bought the services of Money Mentors Calgary (Loan Agency) in Banff (Canada).
Right now the business gets a rating of 3.9 over 5 and this score was based on 33 reviews.
You must have seen that it reaches an feddbacks average is very good, and it's based on a high number of reviews, so we can say that the score is very reliable. If many people have bothered to evaluate when they've done well, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to put evaluations when they are positive and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or incidence...
This Loan Agency corresponds to the category of Credit counseling service.
Best way to get out of debt. It isn't a get out of jail free card. You pay your debts off with reduced interest making it easier to get back on track. Best of all is you get a financial education to set you up for success once your caught up.
Horrible experience. The women I met with was not only late, but both rude and condescending; and in short told me I would apparently be wasting my time with them because at the time she claimed it would take at least ten years with them and they'd make money off of me and wouldn't be paid off. No options or programs were mentioned just that I apparently had to pay them. Kind of threw me off since they claim to be a non-profit and this all was stated after only a few minutes based on assumptions and estimates with no verification of any kind before hand. All in all very shifty and wasn't the only awkward conversation/experience I've had with them (had no debts a few years ago so no real need back then) and definitely wouldn't recommend. There are other companies/resources out there with better reputations.
I met with Delores in person and then a follow up phone conversation. She was very understanding of my situation and at no time was I meant to feel negative about my situation. She gave me some advice and options for my situation that I went home and considered. My follow up phone conversation was helpful in that she answered some additional questions to allow me to try and resolve my situation on my own, with the option of returning to Money Mentors in January to use one of the other options discussed. Thank you to Delores for the understanding and advice.
This company is amazing and same goes for all of their employees. Always friendly and very helpful where money management is concerned. I would highly recommend them (especially Eric Everett) to assist with any financial matters.
I received some free financial counselling from one of their counsellors. I was a bit nervous talking about my finances, but their counsellor made me feel really comfortable and offered some good advice on my options and how to make the changes that I needed to make. I've also attended some of their free financial seminars and learned a ton from guest speakers who offered practical advice on financial management. I wished I had learned some of these things a lot earlier in life, and to be able to get this information at no cost was amazing!
Amazing organization that helped me resolve significant debt. I was given very good information on finances and found them to be knowledgeable, fair and honest. Money Mentors substantially improved my life.
My meeting with Nikki was extremely informative and she provided a very helpful plan to help with my current circumstances. :)
Currently going through the program. Finding it extremely helpful. I have my life back. I think possibly the people who gave bad reviews either didn't take it seriously or didn't follow the advice well enough. It's not easy but so worth it.
Great experience
Finished my OPD program over 6 yearsand paid off all my debt. Got all my fees paid back as well. Special thanks to Stacey for all her help. Would recommend.
My experience was totally positive. Any questions that I had were answered in a timely professional manner. The staff members were always very helpful and returned phone calls very quickly. I would recommend Money Mentors without any hesitation. The Counselors were empathetic and did not pass judgement regardless of my situation. I will forever be grateful for the assistance that Money Mentors afforded me when I was in need of their services.
Money mentors saved me from a world of struggle. They were able to lift the burden off and help me achieve financial freedom! They even checked up on me to see how I was doing! If you struggle with credit debt and want to be free of that downward spiral, give them a call, tell em Carson sent you!
Delores was so kind and helpful with this seemingly helpless dept process, She gave my wife and I hope and comfort. Thank you Delores and Money Mentors
As owner of A Laptop Shoppe I heard the interview on cbc and chose to receive direction financially from these professionals.
I started money mentors in early 2009 with over 35 000 I debt . Money mentors helped me in situating myself for financial stability and helping me in my debt ratio. My coach as well as all the staff were very approachable and knowledgeable. Since leaving the program less than 6 months ago I have been able to get a car loan through a bank and not a high interest loan place as well I have been approved for credit places that it was hard to get before. Overall this program has changed my life for the better and I would recommend this for someone who was like me young on the verge of bankruptcy but didn't have the conscience to declare bankrupt and wanted to do right by paying back all my debts. Besides I got to keep my things I owned this way !
With nearly $40K in debt I found myself living paycheck to paycheck barely surviving maxing out my credit all the time only to please the banks with $1300 a month with no end in sight until I would be a senior citizen. I found Money Mentors on Google, where I learned about the O.P.D. program & read all of the promising success stories. I immediately booked a free financial assessment that night & the following morning I received a phone call & email from Money Mentors. With ease we scheduled a Zoom meeting for the following day. My Counselor Yve had an excellent presentation, she also made me aware of all the free online courses offered by Money Mentors, how to not only conquer my debt but how to invest and maintain financial security moving forward & she even offered to help me find a better career in a relatable field!!!!! I will have all of my debt payed off within 5 YEARS!!! at roughly half my monthly payments!!! I immediately felt all the weight lifting off my shoulders, my anxiety is completely gone & I have been sleeping like a baby every night since. I cannot stress this enough, if you are in debt or know anybody struggling - CALL MONEY MENTORS NOW!!!!!
Finished up my OPD program last year with Money Mentors. Yes, they helped me get out of debt, which was great. But they also found a crafty way to back out of paying back several thousand dollars in fees. I was told at the start I had to finish a course within the first year of the program to qualify for a monthly fee refund, and I was reminded a couple times within that first year to complete it. Fast forward several years, I get to the end of my OPD program to find out that they're not going to give me a single penny of those fees, because there were other courses that I missed. Yes, those courses were in my initial paperwork, but I suppose I was expected to remember every little detail of the fine print for up to 3 years after I signed the paperwork. I don't think it's a coincidence that the reminders stopped after the first year. The person I met with to finalize the OPD said that I could finish the missed courses and make an appeal to management to get the fees refunded. I did exactly that, and all I got in return was a condescending reply from some "lead counsellor". Instead of simply saying that they were still unwilling to refund the fees, she decided to spend the entirety of the email pointing out how wrong I was. I guess she figured that they had all my money, and I had signed all of the final paperwork, so decorum didn't matter anymore? This whole experience could have easily been five stars...but for them to dangle that carrot only to take it away at the very end was quite disheartening.
Was initially hopeful after contacting this company to help straighten up some debt. While setting up for an OPD, the advisor I talked to told me to ignore all my current credit card payments and to stop answering calls from the collection agency in preparation for the debt that was going to be collected. This ended up being bad advice because the OPD fell through before I could set it up and now I am in an even worse situation than before with my interest payments unpaid and the collection agency even angrier than before. You would think that a money mentoring program would have enough insight to anticipate complications down the road and would not recommend something so irresponsible to a person in financial distress. Once the OPD fell through, the advisor was gone. They left me hanging without a single word of advice. I felt completely abandoned by money mentors. I would not recommend reaching out to them for help.
Very great experience with this company. Very professional and met all of my needs. I have so much of my stress lifted and I am so thankful for money mentors.
I took a friend here today. They were intensely helpful given the short window of time we had. Paula was able to zero in on the problem areas and offered a number of solutions. Of course she can't spend all day with us. It wasn't a social visit. Some people might be offended by that. I was happy because my time is valuable also. I will be recommending Money Mentors to more people who find themselves having financial difficulties.
I really appreciate the flexibility of being able to take my call on my cell phone during my bus ride commuting to work! Stacy was right to the point to ask why I called. She let me spell out my story then summarized her impression as to what I was worried about. She clarified and helped me narrow down my issues. I was given suggestions that were quickly do-able. That took SO much pressure off me!! I felt like I could be in control so quickly. Having an email with the suggestions we discussed and links to the Money Mentors tools gave me list to get to work on. I did some of the online workshops right away, I set up automatic transfers on my bank account to pay off my credit card, and I set a date on the calendar on my phone to transfer the money I will be putting towards the credit card to a TFSA when the final payment date for the card arrives. I needed the help to sort out the problems and get some information on things like a TFSA, budget, setting target dates, etc. I am very grateful and I plan to stay in touch with Stacy for a couple more discussions.
Money Mentors helped me with debt consolidation and budget planning so I could avoid bankruptcy and rebuild by credit.
Thought we were going to get some resolution to our debt. Jumped through all the hoops and it took me 5 months to have everything including income up to where Money Mentors instructed. Returned with great expectations only to be told we needed to make more money before they would help. We finally ended up at BNA debt solutions . They solved our problem and gave us options.
I would NEVER again recommend money mentors to anyone EVER! So much disrespect and lack of professionalism from the staff. I'm absolutely disgusted with the Calgary office staff! DO NOT GO unless you want to made to feel worthless and be degraded. As per myself and 2 others I did recommend. NEVER AGAIN money grabbers!
Would recommend to anyone that is drowning in debt and unsure what to do. I was incredibly foolish and irresponsible with my finances, and it was catching up to me. Finally I worked up the courage to make an appointment and go. I never in my life thought I would pay back my debts, have collection calls stop - but sure enough the orderly payments of debt program helped me get there. And that monthly payment was a constant reminder to never let myself be so frivolous with my credit again.
We have had problems over and over with Money Mentors. We had a court order to pay back a certain amount of money. The money we paid out after the 4 years was way more than originally needed to be paid! We were told we would be able to get credit cards again, but our bank has black listed us and we can never get a credit card again from them. We have now had our debt paid off a year and a half and we still have a credit card company saying we owe them money. I would NEVER recommend Money Mentors. Way more hassle than it was worth. My one positive, all the staff were very polite and nice.
Unless you are in hundreds of thousands in debt and see no way out, steer clear of these guys! They convince you that you need to go on their Orderly Payment od Debts program (debt consolidation) but fail to tell you until you go to sign the contract that it will destroy your credit for years and you will not be allowed to apply for credit of any kind for 3 years! They contact your credit card companies and get your accounts closed and if any of your credit cards are with your bank like one of mine was, your reputation with the bank is destroyed. I never signed off on finalizing going ahead with OPD but they still contacted my creditors and proceeded to have my accounts closed anyways. I'm screwed for a long while now. Awful experience. Wish I had more money to hire a lawyer and sue Money Mentors!
On initial consultation, I was made to feel like a criminal. I was told with my type of debts, I must have an addiction to something and insinuated I use drugs, which I do not! The lady (D.T) did not even believe my address and questioned over and over, if I had a unit number. Like who doesn't know their own address? Some people there need more training.
I have recently completed the OPD program with Money Mentors and it is an amazing feeling. I feel confident that I can manage my finances better and teach my son how to manage his finances so he doesn't end up where I did. Jason and the entire gang at Money Mentors are amazing people, friendly, easy to deal with and very understanding. I would recommend the OPD program for anyone who is struggling with their finances. It is a better alternative than Bankruptcy. I would also recommend Money Mentor's online courses if you are looking for ways to budget, teach your kids about money, learning about credit scores etc.
I've never had to use them and don't want to.I've watched family members go through hell and back with these guys.If you are unfortunate enough to use these hoodlums hold on to every receipt you have. They will accuse you of not making payments you made.Nothings ever enough for these guys and in the end you'll end up filing bankruptcy anyways. They're no better than the creditors they'll harass you and use the same tactics that a collection agency will use.Just more scum to deal with!Avoid!!!
