Definitely 5 stars. I have been dealing with this pawn shop for the the past 5 yrs and haven't had any problems. I have used pawn shops across western Canada and no other pawn shop has worked with there customers. You always get a phone call and a weeks grace on your pawn. No other pawn shop has done that for me and they will work with you to help even if you couldn't make that week. For eg. starting a new job and they'll wait .I work out of Edmonton so I'm not there and you can make your payments online or etransfer. Paul and Mike are unique and very friendly. Hats off to this team.

Be careful what you bring to this place. If you have anything valuable it will not be in the same condition after they get their hands on it. Very shady place. It's really disturbing knowing what they do to other people's property. Make sure to take photographs and document you're item, and let their associate know the defects prior to pawning your items. This will save you a lot of grief and hassle if you choose to go to Loan Star.

I have dealt with loan stars for probably more than 6 years. Even after being gone 2 years they still recognize my voice over phone. They are pleasant helpful always get a laugh too i wouldnt trust my jewelry anywhere else but there. I know its safe. Great business great people.

Low interest, understanding and super friendly staff. Probably the most professional pawn shop in the city (in my opinion). - So don't try to bring them your garbage, they are educated and know what they are doing. I've been a regular customer for years, you won't find better quality or prices on Gold and Electronics (just two examples) - anywhere else. The anonymous user who posted about the staff being arrogant, must have tried to pass fake gold, or something that was complete trash, - (i.e. Scratched DVD's, "found" lawnmower, things nobody wants.) - and suffered hurt feelings when they were told No. Their strong reputation has been built on quality of service and merchandise, and that is what you can expect when you visit, and what you should keep in mind if you're looking for a loan. In addition, they've got a HUGE assortment of musical equipment, tools, and nearly anything else you might want. (Including Art and collectibles.) There's not enough letters on this keyboard to give this place the credit they deserve.

worst case of bad service and negligent attitude, no support for the client. brought a photo camera from this place to be a gift, the recipient of the gift don't know how to use it, so next working day went back to this place, I don't ask for refund, all I ask was to exchange it for something else, as a credit for the store, and a guy in there, a cartoon character of Alice Cooper, with that attitude of "I will make you a big favor" said : "the best we can do for you is to give you a credit for half of the price that you paid" so I said: I just got it one day ago, and I don't want the money back, I just wanted to exchange for something else, with the same attitude of I don't give a crap he just said that is the best he can do, toke the camera back and leave. in conclusion, don't waste time and money in this nest, expend a little more and go to a reputable store where they care about the client and not only in ride of merchandise

Used to be okay but they don't buy stuff any more. Everything you take there isn't worth their time. I took a pair of professional technics turntables and that I later sold on Kijiji for $2,000 to them and they said no-one buys that stuff. Hahaha.

They offered me $180 for a ring appraised at $3200....makes me wonder. Guess they would have made a great profit if I didn't know the value of my ring.

This is the best trust worthy pawn shop in Edmonton. If you’re looking for some cash for need and have stuff that is worth it and up to date. They’ll give you the best service which is quite quick and exceptional. I’d recommend them as you also get additional grace period to collect your things.
