Just received a personally addressed loan offer through the mail. I'm not sure how they got my name and address, but I definitely can't trust an organization that purchases information like that from other places. Predatory practices like this are huge red flags that an organization like Fairstone can't be trusted.

Got a loan from this company years go, was still paying on it 6 years later. The interest was so high that I was never going to get out of it and ended up having to go into a consumer proposal to get out of this loan. All my information was sent off to Fairstone stating that I was letting another company take over and they were still reporting delinquent to my credit bureau which was damaging my score. I called head office and the representative I talked to did not understand what I was asking him and was not willing to help me. I had to explain to him 3 times what I needed and he was still reluctant to help me. When I asked to speak to someone else that might know what I’m looking for he said that there was no one there, and then they were in a meeting. After putting me on hold he told me that I had to wait until my proposal was done to do anything, or I could give him my sin number over the phone. When I told him that his website states not to give any personal information out over the phone he then told me that he can’t help me without it. I’m trying to help my credit not destroy it. I do not recommend this company at all. They will destroy your credit and financial situation. Worst experience of my life, they just take advantage of people who need help and milk them for the rest of their lives. They were ok in the beginning but once you sign those papers, you’ve pretty much dug a hole you cannot get out of.

I got a couple of loans at the Calgary office with Daryl. She was nice but realistic about my situation and explained. Then I moved out to Red Deer and now deal with the very nice folks out here. Haven't had any problems, would tell people if you absolutely (last resort) need a loan to get one otherwise try and manage your money better.

Almost thirteen years and several loans later. No one is happy to have to take out a loan ever. The bank sure didn't have my back when I needed it. My last loan was bought out by Fairstone from the previous business. Yes the interest rate is higher than a bank loan, I did read my loan documents and was prepared for that. The staff has been more than exceptional. They worked with me to make sure I got the best rate possible and if I need a little more time to make a payment, they are always accommodating. Thankfully I had this alternative to a traditional bank loan (YOU ARE NOT GETTING A BANK RATE HERE, THE INTEREST IS HIGHER). Talk to the financial specialists at Fairstone Red Deer! Be an adult and ask questions, read your documents. I'm surprised by the reviews honestly. The staff is why I keep coming back. I have a GREAT relationship with all of them. Its nice to be known by name. I sure don't have that with my bank. Thank you to the staff at Fairstone Red Deer. If you had bank interest rates I would do all my personal banking there. Thank you for being there when the bank wasn't.

Absolutely the worst company ever! Find another way to get a loan. Their head office has no idea what the local company is doing and vice versa. Some of the staff at the local office are great people but it is the business that sucks. Worst decision I've made in my life was walking through their door! Funny thing is when I first signed up for my loan there was a guy leaving who was seriously upset. He came over to me and said don't do it, find another way. I really wish I'd have listened to that guy now and walked out. DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS HERE! TRUST ME! IT'S NOT WORTH IT!!!

There is nothing "fair" about this company... After filing into a consumer proposal, they continuously tried to pull payments from my account every month. Finally almost 5 months into filing a proposal, they are no longer trying to pull payments from my account, but instead are reporting my payments to the credit bureau as a missed payment every month.. This is ridiculous, bunch of loan sharks, now they continue to ding my credit every month..

I have had my loan with this branch for almost 2 years, they have been absolutely amazing to work with and have always been very helpful in hard times. The ladies I have dealt with have been amazing and so friendly. Would highly recommend them if you're looking for a personal loan and may not be able to get something with a lower interest rate at a bank.

The staff was very helpful and professional..they explained everything at time of loan.. I had a heart attack.. when I contacted them they stopped payment. Contacted insurance.. never a rude . Call nothing.. they took care of it all.. thanks to all friendly staff. Who helped from day 1.

Was all good until we paid back the loan the day before it was due. It was paid but only showed up on the bank account a few days after. We got a bill for almost $400 interest. Tried calling and they said nothing they could do, finally said to prove it, we contacted back and waited for them to respond - they then sent to credit bureau. We got proof from bank and sent it. Then Got another bill with lots more interest attached! They requested us to contact them through email which we have twice now. No response, bigger bill! I would never use them and would not recommendto anyone!!! Don't know how to fix this and very frustrated. After 6 months of phone calls and many emails, they finally absolved us of the interest. It was very frustrating but in the end the acknowledged we had paid in time.

I wouldn't even give this 1 star but have to give it something. This is the absolute WORST company to get a loan from! They magically added $1500 to my balance and they can't tell me where it came from! In May we owed just over $9000 and as of today June 12 we owe over $10,000!! This company is an absolute NIGHTMARE! Staff is so RUDE and ignorant. NEVER EVER GET A LOAN HERE YOU ARE BETTER OFF WITHOUT THEM!!!!!!!! You are better off going to a bank or some other company! If you want Scammers ruining your life then this is the company for you! they add money to your balance and say they have no control all of the previous data has magically disappeared. ONCE AGAIN DO NOT GO HERE! WASTE OF YOUR TIME AND YOUR LIFE! JUST A BUNCH OF IGNORANT SCAMMERS!!!
