It is okay but the staff does not want to be bothered ; so leave them alone and no sketchy people in this library which smells like a library not a hostel

The library has free wifi, quiet, and lots of seats. The new building is bright and spacious. Librarians here are friendly and helpful.

Beautiful library! Be warned there's very limited table seating if you're looking to set up a session of work on a laptop. A lot of people were sitting on the floor which was very clean so that's another option.

Good studying environment with nice chairs and tables. I think this library was built within 5 years and it looks brand new. Location is good. But there are not many seats here and I recommend you don’t go to here in rush hours.

I absolutely love this library and its views, however it is often pretty dirty on the stairs and high top desk that runs along the top floor. Also, the blinds that were broken about two months ago have still yet to be fixed.

Sydney Eatz

One of my favourite libraries in the city of Toronto. This is tech and media central with both a 3d Printer lab and a media lab with a green screen - awesome library - with an amazing view of the rail yards if you are a train enthusiast like Sheldon from big bang theory - A Richard Trus review

My favourite library in the neighbourhood. It has a good selection of books. And the staff here are nice.

One of my top favourite places to study in Toronto! It's right in the heart of Downtown Toronto with open windows that allows sunlight to enter from all angles making it super bright! (Excellent conditions for studying) The noisy kids play around downstairs so it's good that they don't come upstairs and disturb students studying or workers from working on projects. I highly recommend going here for a visit or if you're looking for a great studying place, this is the place to go, especially near the window tables with the fantastic view! Note: The WiFi is super fast -- great for anyone that wants to play some games after taking a break from studying.

They had a great selection of books displayed - it made me want to read them all! I love the laid back chairs facing the windows!! It's a bit annoyingly modern and cold though.

Great, friendly and professional staff. Building design is very modern and contemporary. But... three things; 1)Their computer room doesn't seem to be cleaned. A month and a half ago I point out to staff how someone wipe snot on a wall next to a PC terminal. It's still there. 2)One of their plugs short circuited my laptop, the repairs cost me the equivalent of a brand new laptop. I highly resent that. 3)Their WiFi is slow, compared to other branches. Heck, compared to any other free public WiFi tbh.

Convenient, good activities but the space was designed with looks as a priority than function, could have more seats to work and study and less big couches that end up getting people to nap on, also the kid activists draw too much noise so the lack of partitioning to insulate noise is a must.

Sarth Rastogi

One of the most beautiful libraries I have been to. It is a glass structure with lots of natural light and a great view outwards. The seating arrangements that have been made are also quite comfortable. Kudos to the library staff to maintain such a friendly atmosphere!

Marc Fowler

Fantastic location in the terrific Toronto Public Library system. Take advantage of their media lab and 3D printers, eBook collection and more!

James T

I am biased, but the best TPL branch around.

Sohaib Khan

Excellent place in the Downtown area. The book collection is limited however the glass windows and modern architecture makes up for the overall experience.

If you find yourself unhappy with this library then you need to consider what has gone wrong with your life.

A modern and quiet place. Comfortable seats and chairs. Lots of light and helpful employees. On the other hand, they keep letting drug addicts sleeping there during the day. I complained about that and was told they couldn't do anything about that. Really?

Victoria Lee

Very resourceful.

Sadaf Anam

Nicest library in the city to sit in and relax with a book or work. It's all glass allowing plenty of natural light in. While not too big it is also not too busy, and any spot you find will give you a nice view of the outside.

I love the seating, huge windows, open space, and location. The staff are super friendly and helpful. But this place is half day-care through the week. Downstairs is more often than not filled with screaming, crying kids and what seems like nobody doing anything about it. It can be terribly disruptive for people trying to read or get work done.

The staff at this branch are super helpful and friendly. The library has a board room you can rent and classes like 3D printing also plenty of free Internet and a great selection of books. I love this library it's the heart of the neighborhood.

Beautiful, bright, modern location and friendly staff. An inspiring space to work in. Most of the ground floor is dedicated to the children’s area, while the second floor holds all the other books and workspaces. Decent selection of non-fiction, fiction, and a shelves of graphic novels and comics as well as DVDs and CDs.

Building design is modern. Staffs are professional. But needs to be cleaned up better...

The best library in the city by far. Built with the modern information layer in mind. Plenty of space to work using mobile devices. Lots of plugs including USB sockets. Quiet, clean and modern. No need to pay for an office or co-share when you've got spaces like this in the city. I clocked the wifi @ > 5mbps

Elmen Chu

I like it here. The ceiling to floor glass make my study here very enjoyable.

Nizami Shirin

Pros: definitely modern. has a good vibe. Couches are comfortable Cons: study seats are few, sometimes it is hard to find a place to sit Chairs are uncomfortable You can hear children's voice playing and librarians' talking to people in the first floor and , sometimes makes it harder to concentrate.

Beautiful library, staff is great and very helpful. Windows are massive with great views. Finding a spot is difficult with COVID, hopefully that will ease out.

Very good facility with comfortable seats, free WiFi, lots of plugs and wide windows which provide nice views and descent amount of light. I guess it’s one of the best locations of the Toronto Public Library.

Taige Zhang

Lots of staff and librarians. Clean. Nice and spacious. Can be very hot in summer and crowded! But overall, great library.

Vincent Mok

Best toronto library I've been to. Clean, well lit and lots of spaces that are setup well to work on a laptop

Heather Piggott

Quiet, bright, modern. Very nice location!

Eliza Beckett

The wifi connection is terrible here. Also, this library is so dirty by the plenty of garbage around public computers.

Shel

Best public library I’ve been in Toronto, they have a big children section and they are open concept design, so if you want a quilt library maybe better go somewhere else.

It’s clean, has nice views, and new but small, pitch silent with sometimes screaming children, limited seating, and a retirement home smell. Will be going to the reference library instead.

Solid library, one of the newer ones

It's clean and beautiful, but sometimes children are too noisy.

Not bad.

Anon Tablet

Modern library branch with striking design that sacrifices some function for aesthetics. Other than carpet, not much noise-absorbing material. Glassbox aesthetic means significant glare on sunny days. Inefficient use of space, could fit more proper study spaces if there was the will. Printer doesn't have validation steps, so be sure to pick up your documents before someone steals them, expecting to be thanked for returning your pages.

Mapping Network

By far one of the better libraries in the city. Very clean, and it has a comfortable atmosphere, as well as close proximity to Fort York. That one rainbow bridge along the DVP t

Outstanding facility. I've used the Toronto Public Library system for much research - and it is amazing. This library is contemporary, and a community asset and hub. Staff have always been helpful. Good selection of books, and it takes little time to get any other resource you need delivered from other libraries. I'm enormously grateful for this place.

Kris T

There was a number of spots to sit and study. Was not over crowded. Great lighting, with large windows that give you a view of the Gardiner Expressway.

Lesli Ranc

Good staff. Very helpful, but books are old.

I visited this Library on 2 occasions recently and was mesmerized by the service I received from the staff. Over the phone and in-person. I unfortunately was only passing by that area and won't be able to enjoy such care more often. Once current restrictions are over I definitely will make an occasional trip to visit this library whenever I need to accomplish school work or simply search for a great book to bask in. It's surreal, but I could feel the warmth of their genuine smiles behing their masks. My praise includes the two security gentlemens at the door.

This is a nice LIbrary that I really like enjoying because its very accessible by Local Transit. Which I go here sometimes if I actually scheduled it on my calendar. The hours of operations on this branch is incredible on Weekdays. Also this branch is open on Sundays for when E/H School resumes. Although I really like this branch with the nice view of the trains passing thru. I give this branch a 5 Stars.

(Translated) Perfect for a local library. Pleasant and tidy. The windows are large and the sky is nice and comfortable. Many people studied / worked on laptops and often homeless.

Pros: - The library is spacious and fairly modern/open space. - Good place for socializing with friends over a coffee Cons: - Mix of Child Care Center and Homeless Shelter. I saw at least 5-6 homeless lurking around /sleeping in the second floor. - NOT appropriate for studying/quiet work as it is pretty loud (kids crying & screaming, etc.)

Meisa Torfinejad

It is the best library in toronto????????

Lei Zhang

Definitely one of, if not the best TPL branch! Modern, quiet, plenty of work spaces and electric outlets. It's a bit small though, so get there early if you'd like to grab a table to work!
