Here you will be able to see all the feddbacks of real people who are buying the services and products of Lakewood Civic Centre (Library) in the territory close to Saskatoon (Canada).
Currently this firm has a rating of 4 over 5 and the rating is based on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that its rating is very high, and it's founded on a very large number of opinions, so we can conclude that the score is very reliable. If many people have bothered to leave their score when they've done well with the service, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to set tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Library corresponds to the category of Recreation center.
I had lost a pair of expensive earrings yesterday and they put them in a special envelope to ensure nobody stole them. Very friendly and approachable when asked about it.
I have been visiting Saskatoon public pools for four years with my kids, sometimes two or three times a week all year, spending many hundreds of dollars there every year. Previously to that I have been using them for three decades myself. Lakewood Civic Centre - just as it is at Shaw and Lawson, is extremely overcrowded on weekends. It would make you laugh if it didn't make you cry. Lakewood and Lawson are the worst for this. Change rooms grossly over capacity, no space on any benches to put on your own swim gear let alone your kids. At Lakewood there's not even enough space to place your shoes on the racks with customers and taxpayers forced to store them in the hallways. Four Family change rooms for hundred or so families is just laughable. The showers at these pools are always cold or slightly warmer than cold, no wonder NO ONE showers before entering the water, disgusting ! Pubic hair anyone ? Yes it's every where, on the changroom floors and in the shower stalls of which there are severely short supply. Picture this ... hundreds of swimmers with only a handful of urinals and toilets, that's right at Lakewood that's all you get, a soaking wet, slippery peed-on toilet with pee on the floor all around it. Don't believe me ? I have plenty of pictures. Likely to save money, Lakewood pool seems to strive to operate their waterslide as little as possible, so be aware that the ONLY time the waterslide is open is during "Public Swimming", never during Parent/Tot or "family swim" or any other time, because of course parents, tots and families hate water sliding right ?! This is just plain stupid and one reason Lakewood is not worth going to most of the time. The slide should be running nonstop !!! Who the hell wants to go to the waterslide pool and not use the waterslide ??? Answer is that no one does and that's precisely why this pool can't break even. Next is the ludicrous rules they have at this pool. "No one under six y/o on the slide". Why is it that my 4 year old can ride a dirt bike, quad, snow machine , electric scooter, go down a playground slide, or even the waterslide at the Shaw Center but not Lakewood. Not even with life jacket, not even with his dad waiting at the bottom of the slide to catch him which he has absolutely no need for me to do anyway be cause he's been doing it by himself for two years already ? It's just plain ridiculous. But don't do it or the Lifeguards will harass you like you are some kind of imbecile. By Lakewoods logic a child shall not learn to safely waterslide until they are six years old ! Who in the hell is going to wait that long to let there kids learn something so easy as water sliding ? More isanity ! If there's more than two people in the line, wait times at the front desk at Lakewood, Shaw and Lawson are too slow. If people in the line want to renew a membership you will be waiting 10 mins per person. That kind of service stinks. All I can say is that C of S needs to do better, more and better. Visit some of the community centres in Alberta, Sherwood Park for example if you want to learn how a swimming pool should be run. They operate for one reason only.... to provide the customer what they want. In Saskatoon you get what Lakewood wants which is to say not very much.
We called ahead of time to book a family swim for my mom, nephew, and myself as you have to do since Covid restrictions are still in place. When we got there we found out the booking was only for one person, though the staff member that took it over the phone never asked how many people the booking was for. We were told we could wait 40 mins and if people who had bookings didn't show up then we might still be able to get in. Kid wanted to wait, so we waited. Only to be told that we couldn't get in anyways. She then asked us if we still wanted to keep the ONE spot we had in our booking. Uhm... For what? He's 8. He can't go in the pool alone. What's the point of making a booking if your staff members can't even do it properly? Not impressed. It doesn't even matter that I leave a bad review either because it's owned by the City so basically just have to deal with the sour taste left in our mouths from dealing with this.
Highly recommend Glen's sculpt classes and Joanne's yoga classes. I will drive out of my way to take these instructor's classes.
It's pretty good
My kids love the drop in childcare.
This is a cool place to enjoy your leisure. It has gym , swimming pool, reading areas, relaxing area, cafe with dispensers, and you can rent some rooms for parties and events. Very neat and comfy.
The pool, gym, and library are all great. We frequent them all fairly regularly and have always had good experiences.
very clean
Great experiences so far.
Great pool and library! Perfect for families spending a day.
Love it here.
Came here for lane swimming. Was going to use the hot tub, but it was closed. Sat in the sauna for a bit. Hot and clean. There was an hour slot from 12-1pm for the lane swim and there were two lanes. Everyone seemed to know how they worked, which was great. A slow and fast lane, it was a bit packed though. Water seemed cloudy/dirty in comparison to the Shaw swimming pool in Saskatoon. Change rooms smelled clean. Would go again.
Very nice place to swim and workout
Slow service...I mean real slow. It was like watching a snal race. 2 people in line ahead of me and it took over 25min to get to me. The lady at the desk seemed nice but seemed to have no idea how to keep calm with only 3 people in line. The "long line" seemed to scare her. Better luck next time
This is a great place for Leisure activities, as well as birthday parties. I have very fond memories from my childhood here,0
Great facility for families. Family change rooms, beach pool for toddlers, play areas with bubbles, current pool and water slide. It also has a small lane swimming pool.
I went to to the library at the Lakewood Civil Centre. Pretty good library and nice to study in. Very good parking space as well. Recommended.
I like the public basketball timings
Great facility with pool, hot tub, sauna. Also meeting rooms, a full gymnasium with basketball court, and a library!
The Best Place to Swim
Great facility with lots to choose from. We just got our family passes for 2021 and the system looks easy to use!
Water slide is nice
Civic Election advanced poll.
You have to make an appointment either by phone or online. Very few people in the pool in the early mornings. Change rooms are open but not the hot tub or sauna. Social distancing is required everywhere in the building.
Apparently a week notice isn't enough time to book a birthday package! Lady was very rude on phone.
I go to Lakewood Civic Centre three times per week to attend fitness classes. The instructor, Glen is great at what he does. He's energetic, upbeat and very encouraging. I really enjoy his step and HIIT classes. I always have a great workout!
It has a lot of activities you can do
Great swimming/hot-tube/hot-room Great indoor basketball court but poor basketballs condition And Really nice library
had a great time
Neat, and relaxing scenes in the center. Awesome view.
Very nice place, and people are respectful to each other
Great programs most of the time but during the summer and school holidays, regular programs are altered to accommodate kids out of school. Unfortunately, this interferes with my fitness routine and the routine of many.
Kept very clean
Becoming crowded.
your pool is so small, people pee in that pool, the cemicals are to strong plus your staff is mean i went in to the first aid room they said get uot you do not have permission and i was bleeding
Worst staff in the world
The facility looks dated but there is no shortage of things to do here.
Very nice park. Has a tennis playground opening from June to October
Always a greeting on arrival
Great customer service. But last 2 times water was cold. Otherwise nice pool with hot tub.
some staffs have poor attitude
Great place. Library, gym and pool.
I've has a bad experience with the lady working at the leisure always she's treated me like badly I use the pool every weekend and libraries but this is the only place that the staff behind the desk I know in my heart I am not welcome there it is very sad that they are working behind that desk why do they work they do this every Saturday I am there at 2pm from 5pm they shouldnt have this job cause they are treating me bad I don't deserve this kinda behavior it's not at all pleasant cause dealing with a person who have feelings and it hurts racism hurts please I can't believe that I am writing this I thought they would change and I forgave and prayed for them I hope something is done
(Translated) Good place to study (Original) 学习好去处
Staff is great, very friendly. Always easy to communicate with them. The only thing bother me the cardio room. They have very less number of treadmills. Other than that, its a great place.
I have been frequently visiting this place for years, the swimming pool is a bit dated, but always very clean. It's a great place to be!
Great family facility. Staff could sometimes make more of an effort to interact in a friendly manner.
Clean, comfortable, a great place to have a meeting
OMG MY BRAIN IS EXPLODING AGH THIS POOL IS JUST THE BEST ITS LIKE IF GHANDI AND NELSON MANDELA HAD A CHILD AND IT WAS A POOL. THE WATER IS CLEAN, THE STAFF ARE HELPFUL, AND THE WATERSLIDE IS THE PERFECT MIX OF FUN AND SCARY. ATTACHED IS A HOME MADE MEME TO DESCRIBE MY FEELINGS TOWARD THE FACILITY (MEME MAY OR MAY NOT BE INCLUDED). IF YOUR LOOKING FOR A RIP ROARING FAMILY ADVENTURE, GO TO LAKEWOOD. AS YOU VENTURE THROUGH THE CHANGEROOMS CONVENIENTLY SET TO 50 DEGREES CELSIUS SO YOU DONT GET HYPOTHERMIA, YOU SHALL ENCOUNTER MANY INTERESTING PEOPLE. SOMETIMES, THE SHOWERS HAVE FANCY PINK SOAP. DID YOU HEAR THAT? PINK FREAKIN' SOAP! YOU BET YOUR BOTTOM DOLLAR YOU'RE NOT GONNA FIND PINK SOAP AT ANY OTHER FACILITY IN SASKATOON. THE POOL ENTRANCE? FABULOUS, IT'S LIKE BEING AT GOD'S HEAVEN BEACH. THEY HAVE A MUSHROOM WHICH FEELS LIKE BATHING UNDER A MYSTICAL WATERFALL WITH BEAUTIFUL WATER NAIADS. THE CONCESSION? OH MY GOSH THE FRIES ARE MAKING ME DROOL AND MY STOMACH DO BACKFLIPS IN EXCITEMENT. THE CHIPS ARE AMAZING, ALWAYS STOCKED AND READY TO INHALE. YOU SHOULD SEE THE AWESOME LIBRARY THEY'VE GOT, JEEZ, THE STAFF LOVE KIDS. LOVE 'EM! ALWAYS HELPFUL AND THEY'VE GOT COMPUTERS, YES COMPUTERS, AND SHREDDERS, AND PRINTERS. ALL YOU'RE GOVERNMENT AVOIDING EQUIPMENT AT YOUR FINGERTIPS. IN CONCLUSION, YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST SELL YOUR HOME TO BUY UNLIMITED PASSES TO THIS HELLA AMAZING CIVIC CENTRE.
My kid likes playing here visiting from winnipeg.
Can borrow a lot of books in the library and there is also a swimming pool. My son likes it very much.
Clean safe place. I enjoy the library!
Clean washrooms, friendly staff members.
Took me so many try to find out a swimming schedule. There is no clear indication or chart for weekly or a monthly schedule.
Just wondering if they ever answer the phones there
good
Amazing place .peaceful and very clean ....good service and attention
great shooting range
Great place for families to swim. Hot tub, waterslide, shallow area and sauna (when it's working). There are 4 family changerooms. There are workout rooms and also a library. Plenty of parking!
There should have been chairs 6 feet apart in the gym along the back wall for voters...instead we had to stand outside in the cold wind for 1/2 hour.
This is the best indoor pool in the city with the worst public/family swim times. Hugely inconvenient as we would enjoy swimming there more often if the opportunity was there.
Myself and my daughters whom are 5 and 2, are from out of town. We came to the Lakewood civic Centre to swim. Matthew, indicates we were the first walk ins to arrive. After a few minutes few more walk ins showed up. We were told we couldn’t swim due to my youngest not having her bathing suit with her. My wife quickly ran back to our hotel to grab it. She was 2 minutes away when Matthew turned us away. I will not be swimming at that location again or any of them at that rate. My oldest daughter broke down in tears as she walked away from the Lakewood Centre. Such an awesome September long weekend to spend in Saskatoon...not!
Friendly helpful staff. Good safety protocols in place
Great place with a wide variety of activities and sports. This is a good place for training as they have a great facility with friendly staffers and instructors
Great staff and great all round facility.
Great staff ???? but rude people who are swimming????
Nice place for recreational activities.
I went there with my daughter and didn't have money to go swim myself. Was told then that my 10 year old daughter couldn't swim without me paying too. I went through the normal procedures of complaint, and was told to leave. A lifeguard then told me to stay and that he would talk to me. Someone behind our backs called the police. Someone offered to pay just before the police arrived, but they refused to let him, saying I was harrasing them for making a complaint. As I was leaving, heard one of the people behind the counter make an obviously racist remark. All I wanted was an apology for how callously I was being treated. They even did apologize at first, but then refused to apologize to my daughter, and told me that they apologize alot and it doesn't mean they are sincere. Good job on turning down an ASIAN CANADIAN CITIZEN.
A great facility with knowledgeable, helpful staff in a friendly atmosphere.
Be very careful of the showers in the women's change room, especially if you have mobility issues. The water changes from Ice cold to scalding hot in a few seconds. And don't allow your children to use them unless you warn them first. The centre has known about this problem since March, and seems completely unable to fix it. It has gotten much worse in the last few days. I use the facility nearly every day, but I no longer use their showers.
worst staff ever
Goodtimes here fam
Great! Very clean. Friendly people. Good e exercise
Nothing against the staff or anything, but it’s really not safe their. I mean REALLY not safe. You could have your stuff locked, LOCKED in a locker but people still open it and steal your stuff. If you go there don’t bring something you don’t want to loose. Like your drivers license or your health card....
Nice swimming pool and very warm changing room
Excellent aquasize classes
This is an awesome pool for families and alike
Aug 4 I tried to book a lane swim online but it didnt work. Tried the phone number but no answer after 15 minutes. The website said some walkins were allowed so I went in person. I was told there were no walkins and you had to prebook. I asked how many lane swimmers were allowed per session and was told 2. They said the Shaw pool opens tomorrow and 6 can lane swim per session. This is not practical for a fitness program. I will have to make other arrangements.
great place nice and quiet nice pool and slide
Great indoor workout and swimming
Just a warning to all parents wanting to enroll their child in swimming lessons here. They will fail your child multiple times and not teach them. They will tell you at mid terms that your child is top of the class and is an awesome swimmer. Come final report card the child will have failed. When you look at the card to see what they have learned or improved upon since last lessons and there will be nothing checked, no improvement on anything. The instructors do not seem to be very competent. Save your money, enroll at U of S.

Had fun here, but blood all over the floor in the mens change room made me think otherwise. I have noticed that cleaning the change rooms is a low priority.
Beautiful
We are no longer accepted as equals and am not allowed inside the building anymore
The gym equipment isn’t amazing, but the leisure pass is the best deal for also using the pool, hot tub, sauna, and various workout classes. The aqua fit instructors are great. Some staff and life guards are great and others are not the nicest bunch. The library has good work spaces.
Great swimming facility
They should have more common changing rooms.
