(Translated) I went there a few weeks ago. Since the opening hours were wrong on their Google listing, I had to wait a while in the parking lot for the library to open. However, I was greeted by a charming and jovial employee who immediately remedied the situation for future customers. In times of Covid-19, I believe they put too many restrictions on traffic in the library (yellow bands), which has the effect of limiting travel but also creating traffic jams and face-to-face -face between rows. Only one toilet available ... For added courtesy, the parking lots on the sides (near the entrance) should be reserved for library members and not for employees only. Why wouldn't they park in the back instead? Especially since they seem to have a direct access door. Dozens of books to carry is heavy for some. 5 stars for the experience in terms of renewals or reservations that can be made through the online application. We are also authorized to return items to any library in Laval. I love! The Multimedia Studio is really a great space, managed by a Jérémie who is passionate about his work. Puisque les heures d'ouvertures étaient erronées sur leur fiche Google, j'ai dû attendre un certain moment dans le stationnement pour l'ouverture de la bibliothèque. Cependant, j'ai été accueillie par une charmante et joviale employée qui a immédiatement remédié à la situation pour les futurs clients. En temps de Covid-19, je crois qu'ils ont mis trop de restrictions au niveau de la circulation dans la bibliothèque (bandes jaunes), ce qui a pour effet de limiter les déplacements mais aussi de créer des bouchons et des face-à-face entre les rangées. Une seule toilette disponible... Pour davantage de courtoisie, les stationnements sur les côtés (proche de l'entrée) devraient être réservé aux membres de la bibliothèque et non aux employés seulement. Pourquoi ne stationneraient-ils pas plutôt à l'arrière? Surtout qu'ils semblent y avoir une porte d'accès directe. Des dizaines de livres à transporter, c'est lourd pour certains. 5 étoiles pour l'expérience au niveau du renouvellement ou des réservations qui peuvent se faire via l'application en ligne. Nous sommes également autorisé à retourner les items dans n'importe quelle bibliothèque de Laval. J'adore! Le Studio Multimédia est vraiment un espace génial, géré par un Jérémie passionné par son travail.

Moi qui suis une grande lectrice depuis toujours, merci à Ville de Laval. En sus, je n'ai pas à me déplacer en autobus par toutes les températures, à transporter aller - retour des livres lourds. Et le comble : je sauve des arbres et du papier. ...Youpee. Et je lis dans le confort de mon foyer. Renouvellement de l'abonnement au bout d'un an. Toujours un très bon accueil.

I like the technology that they installed at this library where everything is automated. Even though it often lacks the human touch the reason I say this is because I have been coming to this library for 30 years and sometimes I had to wait a really long time in a very long line up just to take out one book. Now I come in I get my books, and since they have automated I have never waited in line. Good job Laval! There are two things that I would suggest to the Laval libraries: The first thing I would suggest is to whoever orders the books is that they need to be more careful with their books purchase planning. This is not as important with stand-alone books, but when you read a book series it is very important to get the order of the books correct. So the library needs to order every single book as it is written. I find that at the libraries in Laval they often skip over some books. This doesn't make any sense because then you have to buy the book to be able to read them in order. There are several series where I have been able to read a few books from the library, then I have to purchase books off of Amazon or wherever, and then I can go back to getting them from the library. The second thing I would suggest is that the library needs to order a larger variety of books in English. I have noticed that recently they are doing a much better job of this. However, when I go on to the library website to research what books they have I can see that often they have the specific book that I want to read in French, but they do not yet have it in English. They call this the Multicultural library for a reason.

During the weekends the table are mostly taken. However during the week you might find few empty tables. If you're looking for a quiet area, I suggest you go on the top floor. The main floor is quite noisy since the left side of that floor is where people are allowed to talk. On the right side it's a bit more quite. The library is quite clean and has books for everyone and anyone. I've been going there for over 5 years and my only complain is that the staff does not make any effort to whisper while talking to each other. They will litteraly talk to each other in a normal tone which can be disturbing when you're studying.
