I often use the self checkout because there is never a line up but today there was a line up so I walked over to the counter to ask to get checked out there instead. The 'librarian' told me to use the self check out. Seriously? She's just standing there. My tax dollars at work or lack there of.

A daycare center masquerading as a library. More noise at that branch then one would find NY Penn station. Given the large library only a few kilometers away, this branch seems superfluous.

My laser printer ran out of toner recently so i decided to pay the Ottawa public library a visit and use the printer there. As far as SPEED my experience only took about 5 minutes. When it comes to EASE OF USE however, it's a different story. Gone are the days of pressing the print button on screen and then hovering around the printers to get your print out. The process is a little more complex now. I was told to ask for assistance with my print job and when the time came, i did. There were SO MANY on screen steps involved, there were like 8 button presses and 3 different pop up screens but i eventually got my print outs. The staff was super friendly and efficient. The staff member helped me with getting a brand new library card as well as helping me out with using the printer which is why it was so fast. All in all my experience at this particular library was a good one.

Very friendly, helpful librarians. The hazeldean library is a smaller location, but they make use of the entire space. Computers available for research, solid online book search, photocopier available, Wi-Fi. The librarians are very helpful, just walk up to them anytime, and they are happy to assist. They are usually busy, but don't mind if you politely interrupt to ask a question. A good selection of books, nice sized children's section, with a decent French section as well. There are several community groups that use the additional rooms, such as chess club, along with many others. Parking is small-ish, with about 20 spots available, that can fill up quickly on evenings and weekends. The library is next to the outdoor Glen Cairn pool, so parking is a premium when the pool is open from mid June to late August. Overall, nice quiet location, hope you fone a great read, or enjoy some of the community resources available. Cheers, Jay
