Good selection and nice library but they really need to clean those toilets and keep the doors closed. It stinks as soon as you go downstairs! But the saving Grace is walking over th wooden bridge, so peaceful.

It's a good library. The staff are (mostly) good. But the atmosphere is terrible but that's the fault of the neighbourhood more than the library. There have been many times I've been there that I've felt like I was in an insane asylum. And nothing is done to control it until it gets to the point of absurdity and then the police are called. Not uncommon to arrive and find three or four police cars parked out front. They should just ditch the books and make it a drop-in center. It already is one. The state of the Oshawa downtown is despicable.

Love this library! It is my favorite one to visit! It is a very large library with the adult section upstairs and childrens area downstairs. They have an enormous selection.

Really beautiful inviting space. Spacious with a variety of seating. Wide selection of books. Many resources available - 3D printer, Mac and Windows computers, Makerspace, printers, etc. Pic of of the brightly lit spacious children's area.

As a new one in Oshawa, I really liked MacLaughlin branch as it's a big and quiet place for studying with awesome staff who are so kind and caring. I went there to study almost every day for a while and recently started to cycling to there. Unfortunately, I have to say, it's a terrible place for cyclists!! Last week, when I came out to ride my bike to back home, I couldn't believe what I saw! Someone took my bicycle back wheel!! That was shocking and I heard it's a very common thing in this place! I don't know why they don't have any camera directly on the bicycle rack?!!! It's sad that I won't be able to go there with my bicycle! I hope they do something to solve this problem!

Selection is great. Childrens area is nice. But It's too bad people are allowed to sit and crunch at computers with large bags of chips and slurp pop, not to mention loud music, talking and sometimes snoring. I'll stop at that. A little more control the way things used to be it would be a wonderful place to be :/

The library is very clean, staff is very friendly and helpful, kids section is on main level which really give adult quietness and kids the freedom they like even in the library. My kids and I used to love going to the library prior to the pandemic, thanks to the library staff for serving us even when we are not physically in the library. ????

Conspired to other libraries it really doesn't offer as much. I wish it would have more seating. Especially comfy seating. And i fealty dorm like the way it's setup. You have to go through isles of booked just to get to the seating.

I am elderly and find I get frustrated very fast. I was having problems with getting something printed from the computer and the lady at the front desk kept an eye on me while I was trying to navigate the printer. She did notice my frustrations and came over right away to help me!! Thank you so much????

This is such a fine place. It has sustained me through the years. As a regular visitor to Canada -my wife lives here; I'm from the Low Lands-I cannot but admire the wide selection of books and the excellent services. I would also like to mention that the Library's staff is top notch: helpful, efficient, friendly and knowledgeable.

Love the grab and go backpacks of themed books in the kids section. So easy to focus on the interest of our children, and the variety in them from baby to preteen. Great for the family. The setup and functionality of the kids area is just perfect, can easily browse while keeping track of my kid drawing and playing.

Wonderful staff. Happy to help. The only thing is the computers are only available for 0.45min. Today Thursday March 11th, a guy had his mask off and was drinking beer in the library. There should be a sign 'no drinks or food allowed'. I am very grateful for the library reopening.

unless I'm doing something thats against the posted "rules and regulations/etiquette" for use of the library my response to security will be GO AWAY. They do not have a right to make up their own rules and regulations, and unless I see a no trespass order they do not have a right to ban me from anything
