I always go to the library. I like it there and the staff are friendly and helpful. I don't think I need all the reminders telling me I'm due for bringing the borrowed DVDs back. I very rarely am late. I could understand if I was always late but I'm sure it doesn't happen very often. Thanks anyway

Still a lovely lib after renovation.

Pretty traditional library. Great books, friendly librarians. Free wifi. Children's library is really well-run and a great spot for kids' programs and tutoring.

Andrea Zotelli

Huge selection of books, dvds, games. Has also computers to access internet. Amazing place for quiet reading and studying. Centrally located with easy access by public transit.

I myself being a bibliophile, am grateful to have the access to this great community library for my young daughter. When she overwhelms me with lots of books for loan, she doesn't know how happy I am inside. Heartiest thanks to KFPL.

Pretty nice service. They were able to find what I wanted. They send me to the other store as they didn’t have the book available. Everything is organized online and easy to find books. Good people:) One of the books had a CD in it. I dropped the CD by mistake. I got an email in an hour that the CD fell from the text book and I can come pick it up. I was very pleased with this experience. I went next day to pick it up and they gave that to me with out any hassle. 5 stars:)

The library looks beautiful and is very modern. It gives nice bookstore vibes but there is a big concern with the public bathrooms. The change tables in both the men's and women's bathroom are in direct line of sight for each other. It made changing my daughter very uncomfortable as anyone can see right into the change tables of both bathrooms, and see her (or any child) on full display. For us that meant that all the gentlemen using their facilities had a full view of us. As this building is open to all members of the public, it is a huge safety concern for parents. I highly suggest moving the change tables. There is only one family/disabled bathroom as well.

I absolutely adore the Kingston Public Library! They have kind staff, large fiction and non-fiction selections, and great spaces. Libraries are one of the last places you can just exist without spending money and we are lucky in Kingston to have such a great library system. The library is truly a treasure in this city.

It looked nice outside, but the inside lacked the excitement I've noticed in other libraries. There were minimal hanging signs, and the shelves are very plain looking. Rather than well marked areas with a comfortable and rich feel. Maybe I've been spoiled in other libraries, but this felt boring to me, I've been in book stores that have more personality. That being said, it is a library, and libraries are an important community hub in my opinion, I recommend checking it out at least once if you plan on being in Kingston for more than 6 months.

I enjoy going to the library the one problem and the only problem I have is the staff at Calvin Park branch I find them to be quite rude. Unfortunately this lumps them all together and that is not the case with all of them but maybe there should be something in their job description not only for caring for books but caring for people as well kindness goes quite far

The previous commenters should maybe be a little less sensitive and maybe not be so obsessive in rooting out racial slurs, real or imaged. Sorry, but to pronounce, or even spell, Zxecmemkpu would be a handful for most mortals, whether KKK members or not. I, for one, am getting a bit tired of "Sieg Heiling" to the dictatorship of excessive political correctness. Some advice "Get a life". Instead, look for the positive in people. And possibly if you approach others with a smile and with common courtesy you might experience a more genuine, friendly exchange.
