Beautiful library, wide selection of books (although not as wide as some other libraries such as the Richmond Hill central library), friendly staff, and LOTS of space for studying either independently or in groups. They even have study rooms that you can have to yourself but for a limited time.

Civic Centre Resources Library, on Major MacKenzie Dr West, is the new large building with exterior designs, interior designs, staffs offices, people quiet rooms, children rooms, equipped technology rooms. The library appears to be new urban building with silver white exterior designs and interior design. Low shelves of books, magazines, newspapers, movies dvds are available. Few computers available. Signs: Canada 150 is displayed outside. Ptr (2017 September).

It’s been a while since I’ve been to a public library, probably about 15 years, but honestly this was pretty impressive! First of all, it’s fairly new, maybe only a few years old. It was really clean, even in the winter with snowy conditions and salt all over the roads, the inside was well kept. There’s a large selection of books in English but also saw a couple sections for books in other languages. They also have comics, anime and non traditional books. On top of the large selection of books, they have a pretty large amount of DVDs and BluRay to rent. Some of these are older movies, but they also had some large blockbuster movies as well. They also have a media room fully equipped with green screen and video camera which is available for rent. Probably the most impressive thing I noticed was the 3D printer. Maybe it’s common in most libraries now, but it was pretty cool to see one that is open to use by the public. This is not so much a review of the building but one thing I liked was that I saw a lot of students with their tutors. I came on a Sunday afternoon and it’s always encouraging to see young people at working on their education. So shout out all the students who come here! Overall 5/5 and would definitely recommend checking it out especially if you live in the area.

Awesome library. I rent the studio all the time. The only thing that I wish they did is have an audio technician in staff at all times. The regular staff there have absolutely no idea how to work the studio, so if your having any kind of problem, you have to book the studio on the date that the audio professional is in. Everything else if great. So convenient!

Beautiful and clean facility! librarians are very helpful. great for studying. Impossible to work on laptop with glare from sunlight coming in especially afternoon/evenings as the sun sets in the west. Moving to other tables doesn't help. Overhead lights absolutely not needed, can be turned off to save energy on a sunny day/afternoon!.

It's a nice library. But what i found disappointing is they hide the resources for toddlers. If you ask for one , they tell you those are for special occasion only. Very poor in that case compared to other libraries.

I have recently started studying here.It is a nice place with nice staffs.but it is not a good place for study. I haven’t seen anywhere people talking on the phone loudly.I ask many times but no one cares. I even talked to manager and she said we don’t Have any silent area. It is very disappointing such nice library people talking on the phone loudly and talking in the study area .I think Against my will ,I Have to found a quiet place for study.

Simply stunning library featuring a modern interior, Civic Centre Resource Library is a fantastic place to spend time and read books! The staff on hand are always helpful, insightful, and polite. The books on offer are great, with plenty of new releases paired with well known classics. The manga selection is also very good, and I was able to take out Yuru Camp, a manga I have yet to find at any other library. I highly recommend giving Civic Centre Resource Library a visit! It's also located in the center of Maple, making it very convenient to get to!

A mixture of good and stupid architecture! Modern decoration but NOISY air conditioning system, specially in the central patio, the cooling towers don't let you stay long. Nice windows bring unnecessary sunlight everywhere and you have to change your place time to time....

How beautiful! No wonder it won a "Library as Space" award (Ontario Library Association). I was impressed by the free charging stations when I first arrived, but the space itself is inspirational, from the inner courtyard, to the work areas and private rooms. I had never been in such a quiet library and was doing some work, when suddenly someone came in late for an activity, repeating out-loud "I don't think that we are in the right place". She had confirmation that she was in the wrong place when she took a turn and saw the vast and brightly lit study area with several dozen people patiently looking up at her.

Great new library with top-notch modern facilities and a very cozy atmosphere with many tranquil places for reading. It offers books, CDs, and DVDs from multiple languages, as well as quiet rooms, computers, and even a recording studio! The windows are really big so there's lots of natural light shining through and illuminating the rooms. If you enjoy reading outside, there are also reading areas on the roof and the terrace! Overall, a really good place for studying and/or reading.

Excellent library. I volunteered here for two months under the Tech Volunteer program until it was time for work, and the staff were incredibly kind, patient and helpful to any patron that walks through the door. I aspire to see this kind of customer service everywhere, and I absolutely love this library. The space is beautiful, the staff here are very kind, and there is so much support, services, study rooms and space. I witnessed people doing many things with their time there--studying, starting their new business, learning a new skill or simply reading. Whatever your purpose for being there, the Civic Library was there for you. And I loved that about it. Being both a patron and a volunteer before, I can say that this library deserves a full 5.0 overall score. I used to live in Richmond Hill, and I have never seen such a wonderful library before. For example, if you're being too loud, the librarians will do everything they can to maintain the quietness of the library, and tell you respectfully to keep the volume down. I have been in countless libraries where the staff didn't care about simple things like volume.

A true, hidden gem in Vaughan! Perfect for reading, studying, and getting some laptop work done in a quiet, yet modern and warm setting. The entire four walls are basically nicely UV-tinted floor-to-ceiling glass, hence the lovely sunlight that we desperately seek in winter times. Plus, the high ceiling along with those nice glass walls gives the whole place an "open-yet-perfectly-protected-from-outside-perils" vibe.

Some of the best staff, very accommodating and friendly. Book selection and places to sit, relax are amazing. My personal favourite is the terrace when it’s open. The phone chairs help block out a lot of noise if you want quite and the private rooms are great. Ask anyone for recommendations they have some amazing ones!

I absolutely love this library! So many different types of spaces suitable for a range of activities from group meetings to quiet work/study sessions. My favourite spot is any of the desks on the building's perimeter facing the street. Everything looks new and colourful and there is a lot of natural light. The library has a cafe area, reading rooms, desks, 3D printers, lounge, and kids reading spaces.

It is a good, clean and modern library. I would have given 5 stars if not for the lack of shades. When it is sunny, it's impossible to seat near windows as my back is literally on fire.

This library is full of potential. The resources are amazing, and there are lots of appealing spots to study. Not to mention the fantastic design allows the beautiful rays of light scatter through the library from the gigantic windows. Also, the staff are accommodating and nice. I definitely recommend this place. :)

I actually love this place!!!!! I've always passed this building and never really realized it was a resource centre. The place is chic and the technology is up to date. The patios are beautiful and it's such a comfy place with the individual meeting rooms that come with a TV. There are also electronic charging stations so yay for electronic vehicles!

This is a good atmosphere to work. There is a lot of neat decor (chairs shaped like phones, tree in kids area etc) and resources such as 3D printers and music rooms. It is clear that they are trying to bring the library concept into 2016 and it is working.

Best library in the area and most probably in the whole GTA. I love the bright kid’s section, they have good book selection for the little ones even in French and the staff always prepares surprise book bags for different reading levels in case you can’t pick from the options. There’s also an inner courtyard that’s perfect for warmer weather (has umbrellas for shade) and there are several glass walled study rooms that you can use if you need quiet.

This a great library is spacious, has a very natural light in the day, has a quite large children's books for diferents ages, could be a excellent place for studying but even the library has a differents languages books they don't have a spanish section. I think some spanish's books could be really appreciate for the spanish speaking community.

I love the library but there are problems that need to be addressed: 1. You need blinds immediately 2. The kids area needs doors. The kids don’t even read, they run around and make noise. They should not be allowed access to entire library. 3. Staff should be allowed to silence talkative people. It’s a library, the whole building is literally a quiet zone

Stunning! A library for the modern human being. They have a whole lot of modern tech, a selection of different kinds of seating options, a variety of media and gaming devices and more genres of books than most libraries AND THEY HAVE A RESIDENT SNAKE! Unfortunately they don't keep it loose. ???? Hands down THE best library within a 50 km radius. And did I mention that it's absolutely stunning?

Great place to chill and relax or do some studying. They've got a courtyard in the middle of the library where you could go to get some fresh air as well as an outdoor terrace on the second floor! Such a cool place.

Very clean location with modern furniture and appeal. Can get noisy at times with all the kids running around - only sometimes do the staff ask them to keep their voices down which can get frustrating for those studying. Needs improvement in that aspect but otherwise great place.

This is one of the nicest and coolest libraries I've ever been to! First of all, there is ample parking and study spaces available. Some of parking even had electric chargers which was really cool to see. There are a lot of outlets so you won't have to fight to secure one. They also have these really cool phone-shaped cushions that look super comfy! They do surprise goodie bags filled with books for all different ages if you don't know what book to pickup! They also do book sales for affordable prices like between 2-5 dollars! There is a courtyard in the middle with seating available in the sunlight which is so pretty! The washrooms are super clean. It's not too loud compared to other libraries and there are lots of windows for the sunlight to peek through. Overall, I loved it and will definitely be going back!

I recently started coming to this library because I enjoy studying here. Particularly I enjoy the staff, they always try to make my study experience as enjoyable as possible. However, today I simply needed a computer mouse as mine had died. I have borrowed a computer mouse from the library many times before and it never seemed to be an issue. However, this time I asked and the receptionist for a mouse, she said she would have to ask her supervisor. She came back and told me the supervisor informed her that I would not be allowed to borrow a mouse. Upon seeing that they had a drawer full of computer mice I asked to speak to her in order to understand her logic for saying no. Long story short, she (the supervisor) said I couldn't borrow a computer mouse and couldn't even tell me why. I explained that I had borrowed one before with out any issues and even offered to give her my I.D, get a library card or write down my information in order to make sure they knew I had intention of returning it. The receptionist and supervisor displayed horrendous amounts of attitude and showed me a lack of respect. Prior even conversing with the receptionist she had the most miserable look on her face. You are working around children, it does not hurt to smile. Being the first person I look at when I walk into the library it would be nice to see a face that doesn't look like she hates her life. Its too bad this happened I love studying beside the pet snake they have. Wont be coming back here just really felt unwanted and judged. Who knows maybe the receptionist and supervisor were having a bad day but whatever it is. I had to leave it made me feel uncomfortable studying at this library.

Ppl are nice, equipments nice too. But building poorly designed, the sun goes right though the window to the study area with lots of desks. And the light just aims straight to ppls eyes. How can ppl read or study at all like that?? At least put some automatic roll up blinds.... Designer so dumb.

I am a fan of libraries in general and they have always been a to-go place for kids. This library is very modern and beautiful. it is located across from a nice children park and that's a blessing. Just park you car and visit library for books and then some play time for kids. The kid's area is spacious and has kid-friendly, fluffy smooth ottomans for seating. The huge 'sun room' is my personal favorite in children's section. It bring good sun light and bright even during winter months. Adding more computers in the kid's area is a good idea as there's always some kids staring 'wantingly', but hey you can always read a book ;). The events at this location are also great. I haven't attended many but the one we have been to was fun and we all enjoyed. There was face painting and pop corn and other fun activities. The coffee/ vending machine are a life saver for the quick snack for when we spend a lot more time than originally planned. Last but not the least 'Dude' is the name of the non-poisonous-snake pet in the library. Which is THE object of fascination for my kids and parents. It is a true beauty with reddish orange and black stripes. We saw its tail of head multiple times but this one time it was completely out and boy! was it long!

Nice, but overall it's questionable as a study space. Adjoining kids section is not enclosed, and it gets noisy all the time. Not a place I would go to study, but rather read or do some casual surfing.. Same problem at maple library, they didn't learn when they redesigned lol

Great study space but loud - Great building with a decent amount of space, an abundance of power sources, not many books, a cute outdoor patio in the center, cute couches to sit if you get a spot but they constantly have loud kids and even louder tours going around library that don't even try to stay quiet for the people trying to study. Also, while the building is nice, it allows a lot of light in through the glass so depending on where you are sitting the sun is in your eyes for most of the day. Overall great place to study - bring earphones.

There is no such thing as quiet study rooms here, people will have meetings in the one person study rooms and it’s always very loud no matter how many times you tell the front desk staff no one cares enough to talk to these people to lower it down. Once someone had really loud music on their computer still no one said anything!

I absolutely adore this place! I go there so insanely often, the terrace is my favourite place to be in the summer and the people are so personable. I honestly really want to work here being a fellow book worm. They have fun cool events going on all the time which adds so much personality to the place. The best place to sit and read would be the phone chairs in front of the Young Adult section!
