Nice place to work, study, and/or read. Kind and helpful staff. I visit at least once a week. The adult section features lots of natural light from the numerous windows with nice views of Downton Oakville. A good collection of books, newspapers, magazines, CDs, DVDs, and video games (including PS4 and Xbox One). There are also about a dozen public computers.

Frank Yang

Central library in downtown area. There are computers, study room, etc. One floor is for kids books with kids activities.

Older lady with a European accent was very rude to me as she accused me of not inserting money into the printing machine and was very demeaning with her tone of voice. Instead of helping she was disgusting to deal with and did not even know how to operate the printing machine. Do better.

Overall a great place. The surroundings are beautiful and the library itself is full of nice communicative staff ready to help. There is a section for food donation everpresent. There's also a section with information of services throughout Oakville as well as informative panflets covering plenty of topics.

Our family loves visiting libraries and we especially love discovering new ones in our travels. This one is nice but the adult & children's sections are not connected. Therefore, Out-of-town visitors (like us!) can not take adult books between the Kids & Adult sections. Which made our visit very short. The kids area is large but pretty much all of the toys were for preschool aged children. Also leading to our short visit. Overall, for a "central" library in a very nice neighbourhood/city we left disappointed.

Kourosh Farrokhzad

It's a clean, professional safe space complete with a children's library, vending machines and even space outside to play. Probably one of the nicest public libraries I've ever had the chance to frequent.

Staff are very helpful! It is a great place to study or even work quietly while remote. 90 minute time limit is in place.

Helpful and knowledgable librarians, well stocked library. I don't think the choice of color for the new carpet. Is a good one. It's insipid and I think it will show the dirt.

This library may be underfunded however the technology seems to be improving. Libraries are essential for intellectual growth and should not be overlooked just because of the internet and mobile devices. I for one feel like I’m in the zone when it comes time for studying and learning. The location could benefit from expanding, obtaining more educational materials and more comfortable furniture; it’s not supposed to feel like a prison. Pros: 1. Staff are friendly and helpful 2. A lot of natural light comes in 3. Clean and quiet for the most part Cons: 1. Selection is not that vast, especially if you need to learn in-depth on specific subjects. 2. There is no bathroom on the main floor, it is located on the middle floor. 3. Seating in the leasure area is not designed for comfort. The library could use some cushioned seating. 4. Printing is expensive.

Helpful staff, quiet environment. Can't complaint.

Best library in the area by far--especially their events and programs for children. The staff are helpful, knowledgeable, friendly and so imaginative. Real passion in everything they do. Keep up the great work.

This is a very good library, with excellent, helpful staff. The library collection is substantial... and there are also many books available "on line" [i.e. e-books]-- which are very useful when travelling. The library also provides timely information concerning community events [of interest to many travellers... I hope that this Review is helpful.
