Just a lovely little library with a truly remarkable selection and the most friendly staff. What's even better is you can look at renting e-books online which have an auto return date so you don't have to worry about fees and fines!

Best library. Staff are great. The atmosphere is full of positive energy. The downstairs computer area is organised and well sanitised. The downstairs computer help desk staff are very helpful, specially Kevin is super knowledgeable. Probably the best library in Canada.

They have a homeless guy living on the property. I pointed this out and they denied it. He leaves garbage in front and has a shopping cart parked full of garbage. He sits out front smoking dope and playing video games all day and night and sleeps in a cardboard box there. They should not be encouraging a young man to throw his life away pursuing stupid childish games and being a bum. He should be removed and told to smarten up. Really arrogant and stupid of the staff to allow this to go on snd then LIE to my face. Maybe he can stay at THEIR homes if its so importat to them and not bother the patrons who pay for the library.

I have a lot of reasons to be really proud of this library. I have heard many people state that it is a top library, and most people who compliment the library can also point out at least one staff member who has helped them a lot. West Van Memorial Library does have a large collection of books and magazines, movies and CDs; some great programs and events for all ages; a very tasty coffee shop; and there is also more use of (and good introductions to) many forms of tech for people who are looking for it.

When I was at West Vancouver Library in around mid-/late-afternoon on Saturday, July 21, 2018 to do documents scanning, the young lady at Community Computing Centre help desk was very friendly helpful. When I realized that I forgot to bring my library card along with me, that young lady immediately gave me a guest pass without being asked. One of the wonderful experiences I have had at West Vancouver Library (that I dare to say one of the best library in Metro Vancouver).

This library is a place where I come to study often. Yesterday, I was in the recording studio with a classmate, and we were making a recording as part of our biology project. The room is mostly soundproof and I know for a fact that there are louder people outside the room, however, nearing the end of our recording, one librarian barged in and told us we were loud. In our haste to end the recording in order to reply to him, the entire thing was deleted. The recording studio is a place where your 'library voice' isn't to be used. this is where you come to record. Before proceeding to record again, we made sure that no one could hear us from outside. The volume at which we were speaking at was not audible at all and it made us both very frustrated that we were forced to restart our project, delaying us by more several hours as there was no other way to recover the audio we had lost. My issue is with the behaviour of the librarian. Rather than knock or wave through the window (through which he could clearly see us in the process of recording), he walked straight in, startling us both and told us we were 'loud'. This library is a great place to study but the improper manner in which the librarian acted truly affected the view I have of the place.
