This Library corresponds to the category of Swimming facility.
It had a heated pool and is suitable for all ages.
We took three of our grands swimming here - last Sunday. The prices were good and the pools were amazing. Great life guards and lots of fun toys! Thank you!
This place is an asset to the city. Good aquatic programs and friendly instructors.
Great community centre!
A veritable haven of accessibility.
Great place feel safe with your kids well swimming
Great family environment. Safe pool, plenty of cameras to keep you safe. Public wifi available. Seating areas inside pool deck and outside where it's cooler. Library is in the same building the there is a large park right beside. Good facilities for meetings or baby showers, birthday parties etc. Reasonable prices for family swimming. Excellent swimming lessons.
Tried making out but got kicked out instead
The aquatic center is very clean and there are numerous lifeguards on duty. The entrance fee is more than reasonable.
This was my 1st visit to the Centre and I was impressed with the layout. There are men, women & universal change rooms that are impressively clean. The pool cost is reasonable at $4.40 (50+ yrs) plus I really enjoyed the warmth of the water too. I was surprised to see they have a cafe and a branch of the St. Catharines Library in the centre as well. I highly recommend this Aquatic Centre...Enjoy!
Great place to spend a few hours with kids for about 11 dollars ( family swim pass), library and 2 great pools. 1 large lane pool and 1 large heated shallow pool with lots of fun things for children. Very clean and friendly staff.
This facility is beautiful inside and out and has been the perfect place to host my daughters' birthday parties with many guests in attendance. The room rentals are very reasonable the kitchen is nice and the library and pool are great too.
Having a library near you is always great. The staff are helpful. The pool is quality and does not have the chemical issues associated with many large public pools. The park is vast and a great place for family during pre teen adventures.
This aquatics centre has a wide variety of programming, and there bounds to have something for everyone. Friendly instructors and overall a great facility. I'm fortunate enough to be able to get my weekly exercise here in the pool.
it's a great facility... well run... clean... a pleasure to swim there...
The grand daughter loves pool day
This place is amazing and always clean
staff are great!!! always clean
Great place to go swimming with kids. Great friendly staff.
I really enjoy the pool, preferably when it's not packed. The library is really nice and the option of the party room is great. The parking lot is huge. I personally really enjoy the park in the back, I go there all the time with my mommy group. The kids quite enjoy it all aswell as the splash pad. It's really great.
The kiwanis center is awesome for kids, families and people in the community. We love to go swimming here. They have a wide range of public swim hours. Plus they also have a loonie day where admission is $1. The library is great to with a wide range of options such as books, DVDs, computers etc. The staff have been helpful and friendly. I personally love the section where they sell books and DVDs and have free section too.
Absolutely love the pool, it's our favorite pool in the city. Warm leisure pool with a great shallow end. Excellent spacious change rooms.
The change rooms at every clean. In the winter there will be slobs but nothing you can do. The pools are very nice. The kiddie pool is very warm and the lane pool is very nice. The temperature is nice. I would recommend this place as it has clean facilities.
Great place for kids.
Great place for young families ! Grandson loves swimming there. They also have the best splash pad
Our visit got cut short because someone pooped, the swimming pool was too cold
Very nice pool
Awesome swim area. Nice building too
Love the variety of aqua fitness classes they offer. All of the instructors are fantastic.
Great place to take the kids for lessons
Wonderful facility! Attentive staff and very clean.
Horrible Experience. Simply wanted to go swimming with my kids and it turned into a nightmare. The admissions person was happy to accept my money for me, my wife and our 5 children. After spending 20 minutes getting changed and pre-showering we were refused entry into the pool by the lifeguards. Apparently 2.5 kids per adult is too much. Even with life jackets on. Had to leave with 5 extremely disappointed children. Thanks St Catharines, for wasting my time, my tax dollars and rejecting my kids because you feel that you know best. Absolute crap.
Awesome place to swim
It is a very good swim place if you want to do programs or hang with friends
Warm water pool excellent for therapy. Assists with those aches and pains associated with colder weather. Join the feel of the tropics.
What a beautiful park and splash pad for kids and walk through path with beautiful trees, I love you
A pool and a library, an unlikely combination but it works! The pool is great for families, lots of room to swim. Check them out for event planning too, they have a party room.
Non-residents of St.Catharines BEWARE! You've been warned! This place, sadly, may have to do for your swimming needs if you are a resident and have no where else to go but it's down right horrible if you are not a resident. And trust me when I say it makes no difference whether you live there or not, the receptionist is a growling pit bull guarding her territory. Upon arrival brace yourself to be greeted by a snarl, not an inviting and willing-to-assist happy smile. Maybe she hates her job? Who knows! As a non-resident I registered my 2.5 year old daughter for swim lessons there because we do not have access to an indoor swimming pool in Thorold and therefore no fall/winter swimming classes. Non-residents are only able to register 2 days after residents at which point pretty much all the classes were filled up. We were miraculously lucky (or so I thought then) to have been able to get the last spot because I registered at precisely the exact minute we were able too. Yup, I even set an alarm 10 minutes to registration time. Once the program is complete (which consists of 4 to 6 classes) you need to re-register. This time, we weren't so lucky as everything filled up before non-residents even got a chance! The place is so disorganized that at the last class they didn't even know when the next registration would come out. I had to figure it out myself and constantly check the site. The staff wasn't helpful in the least. And the instructor for the course was a young teenager who stood there not even really engaging herself in the class, she almost looked annoyed that she was stuck there rather than with her friends. This was a class by the way which should have had 4 students, but there were only 3... why? That could have been a spot for someone else, instead the site listed it as full. Clearly they don't update their site. Again, so disorganized! The teenage instructor failed to provide any substantial feedback or constructive tips when some of the kids weren't performing at their best. I mean... isn't that why she's there? To teach the kids to swim and teach us (the parents/ gaurdians) the best way to help them. She basically sat there and watched us do everything ourselves. I thought I signed up for a teacher... not a lifeguard! Needless to say, with all the disorganization, poor registration method, a growling receptionist, and lifeguard rather than a teacher I felt very unwelcome as a non-resident and probabley would feel the same as a resident too to be honest. So we decided to go elsewhere, even if we have to make a further drive. Two thumbs down on this place... BUT they do have a very nice library going for them with great service there if you want to check that out.
Great life guards for lessons
Good parking and not to expensive they even sell water diapers right at the counter
Great pool and facilities. Helpful staff, and the teachers/lifeguards are very friendly...great activity for the kids.
We called about a public swim because that's what my son wanted to do for his birthday with his friends , talked to a staff member gave them the date and was told the swim times. Only to get all the kids there and find an empty pool and be informed it's closed for 2 weeks, why would the staff member we spoke to tell us this. Then when we are a little upset have the staff that are working say well what do you want me to do the pool is empty and she also said it was on the city website which we checked and it wasn't nor was the closure on their site. Ridiculous and had a bunch of upset children especially the birthday boy.
Really good for kids and the staff is very friendly and helpful..
Pool was great. Family changeroom smelt like pee
Beautiful facility with ample parking.
They now charge fees for everything because someone has to pay to fix the roof that fell through last year. Customer service has gone down. We used to love coming here, but not anymore.
Great facilities and programs
Great place when I had a 3 month membership there. Went swimming every morning on my first semester in school. Swam with old people but I didn't care and neither did they.
Great facility. Lots of lane space. Doesn't require a membership so great for visiting swimmers.
Great swimming centre, fantastic for either lengths for fitness with lanes almost always available, or for swim lessons at any age, even adult lessons! The library is also very nice, if a little small. Great for a family outing to a free swim, and then some lounging in the library.
Nice and clean. Excellent trainers and very good change rooms with showers.
It's really a nice place. They have three months pass which is a good deal in summer.
It's a great place to go swimming and hang out with your friends in the library and read some books while you're there and there's also a swimming lessons you can take if you don't know how to swim
Great pool, great staff, and the library is in the same building!
Great place for a swim
Awesome pool! Make sure you’re aware of lane swim times before you go!
No diving board? Why did we spend all that money? That was a HUGE HIT at West Park for the kids...
Great new development! 2 awesome pools and a nice little library. Check it out!
Big and beautiful, the changerooms are great with shower areas for everyone, the pools are well kept
Too many trouble for the schedule. has come 6 times never couldn't swim even once
Have park, can reading books.
Pool is warm and change rooms are big and clean. Nice place for kids.
Great aqua fit classes!
Great family pool
Busy place! Looks like a positive asset to the community!
Fantastic staff! Very friendly at the desk and in the pool area. I just wish there was a way to let us know how many lanes are available for lane swimming. For example the schedule may say that lane swim is available from 8-9:30 but you don't know how many lanes there will be. Sometimes there are 4 or 5, sometimes only 1! Maybe they could get a Twitter account and have the lifeguards tweet out how many are free? Just a thought!
Clean and friendly staff.
Super clean and plenty of parking, it's a modern pool and wonderfully friendly staff. The outdoor play structure is absolutely huge and perfect for kids 10 and under. There's also a splash pad and soccer fields.
Wonderful facility. Pools are always well maintained, along with showers and change rooms. Staff are helpful and friendly.
Beautiful swimming facility! Excellent life guards! Excellent counter assistance!
Great pool, the place is clean and there is a free Wifi
Very clean pools and amazing staff
Heated pool and public library in the same building! Also, nice atrium with many couches and tables. Common rooms for rent and playground outside make this an excellent stop in a day with or without youngsters in tow.
Secretary staff always go above and beyond to try to help with any issues. Rated 3 stars for cleanliness of the ladies public changeroom, and the fact that there never seem to be enough staff (lifeguards) working. I was informed the same day of a drop in lesson that was available, drove 45 minutes to get my daughter there, just to be told that there wasn't enough staff available to provide a lesson after all. My daughter was so let down. The rules for 1 child per adult is a huge pain also. They should think about re-working to accommodate single mothers with 2+ children. Wonderful to have the library in the same building.
Calm environment and welcoming staff would like to go again n again
A wonderful facility that accommodates all walks of life. Doesn't matter whether you are new to water or a seasoned swimmer, there is something for everyone. The staff is kind and knowledgeable. The change rooms are clean and well laid out. Pools are clean and perfect temperature. Love it here!
The pool is great and I love all the programs for toddlers. I love the actual lessons for my baby. Whittle Water Works was a fun exercise and I loved meeting other mom's but the pool was freezing for the babies and my daughter turned blue by the end. The actual swimming lessons take place in the warmer therapy pool and are much better for the little ones. The instructors are patient and helpful.
This place is pretty cool. There's a pavilion with plenty of picnic tables there for coverage from the sun and a place to eat. I've seen people do kid parties and family reunions there. There's plenty of shade around the playground with some wickedly big old trees. There's also some park benches you can hang out on. The playground is good, it has a work out station for kids, a giant place place with plenty of slides and things to keep the kiddos occupied. The water splash pad is lacking in variety but hey, it's free and gets you wet and if your kids have a good imagination then they'll find themselves enjoying it more then complaining about it. If you fancy a swim, the Kiwanis centre is located right next door to it.
Great place to swim
Great pool. Great staff. Great place for family. Doesn't get any better. And a library right there. Bonus!
Great facilities with a leisure pool as well as a lap pool. Not too busy and water was pleasantly warm. Staff was very friendly and prices are reasonable.
Warm water temperature. Pleasant staff.
Very Clean, Nice and new building
Lovely pool. Great family recreation
Pool. Linrary. Conference rooms
Love the Hip Knee and Back classes ! We started going to support my husband's therapy but found out it helped us both. The water is warm and facility is clean.
Great swim centre. Long lane pool, and a short kiddie pool with a bench jacuzzi. Changing rooms can be a bit dirty at times, especially on a rainy day. Would highly recommend you take a swim here as it has friendly staff, and large swimming areas.
Very polite and friendly staff
Nice. Great instructor.
Great pool, very kid friendly park
nice warm pool for the kids
Best deal in town for exercise at about $100 a year!
To much cloreen in the small pool but every thing else ????
great place for swimming closed for month of June
Drove from a different city to find pool closed for a month. Did not see this at all when I searched. Staff were uncooperative and chatting amongst staff. I am from Alberta so I do not know the area. Will not come back.even states they are open on their page.
Nice facilty for swimming, friendly reps.
Super friendly staff! Prices could be lower in my opinion.. but the facility is great and well kept. Clean and bright inside. Lifeguards and friendly and great in lessons too!
Swimming is fun and the pool is not overcrowded
The aquafit classes are mostly excellent. The only suggestion I would like to offer is that instructors use a set repetition, rather than a haphazard repetition, thus creating a sequence easily followed and giving a smooth flow to each specific exercise and to the next one etc.
Biggest money grab ever! You can only book for one swim per day and in the summer it was for an hour at $10.50 (2 kids, one adult) and now it's only 50 mins for the same price! I understand times are limited to due to Covid but they should adjust their prices accordingly! Before Covid, you could swim for more than hour for the same price!
Started swimming there 2 weeks ago and it's great! Very clean
Love going here with wife and son for family swim time
Library and pool, good hours, great for kids
I love going for a swim there and the ladies at the front desk are friendly and personable a definite 10 out 10 and it even has a library also thank you Ryan Steven's.
Clean and offers a variety of healthy options for exercise
I have been swimming there with my son since he was a baby. He's now three and has been through three level of lessons. He loves going there. He can be a stubborn kid and a bit of a devil so I have gone from group to private lessons. It was well worth it. His teacher is very good: firm but encouraging.
Great place for aquatic classes
Todler time for kids in the weekend morning is good fun. Staff are friendly.
Very nice facilities.
Great except lifeguards did not control older children in wading pool. Thank goodness I have no problem putting the smaller children first. Clean. Lots of room in the change areas.
Great place but water needs to be warmer
Very friendly staff and nice warm pool
Kids love it there and I can have a little me time while I watch them swim.
Worse customer service ever.. STAY AWAY from here, Rude staff and very unprofessional
The place is great. Both library and pool. What makes this a 3 is how much the front desk hates working here. We have been coming to Kiwanis for over one year and every single time the person is unkind and rude.
So glad to attend the pool again .. everything is spotless and well organised for safety..great job????
Well run, comfortable & friendly.......thanks so much ! 5-star rating
Good place to teach your children to swim.
Lovely facility. Very clean
I dont understand why all the change rooms dont have cubicals. The Universal change room is always soo busy! Would love for them to pay more attention cleanliness, the showers always smell like urine.
