Its nearly impossible to find a spot during exam season

It's hard to find a spot during exams, but once you find a spot, you have this satisfaction that I can't explain. It gets a little messy when students don't throw away their Timmie cups. It's also frustrating when people leave their notes and/jackets at a seat and don't return within 3+ hours.

I usually choose to study in other teaching buildings (international affairs building and physics and astronomy building...) because the environment there is relatively quiet. A student favourite, one wonders why this library is so popular. While it retains the atmosphere of an old library which is condusive to focused studying, my experience during the exam season has been nothing short of a catastrophe. One will find it a normal occurrence to be roaming the library, floor to floor, sweating due to the abnormally warm temperatures, just trying to find a spot to study. If your laptop isn't charged, you have absolutely no business even stepping into this structure during the exam season. During other parts of the year, however, Weldon is an adequate library with an abundance of study locations.

Despite resembling a nuclear bunker from the 1960s, the (in)famous Club D.B.W. remains an excellent locale for study purposes. The postmodern concrete aesthetic solidifies the somber duty of the university student to spend hours imprisoned inside such an edifice studying obscure materials (e.g. engineering calculus). Critically, as one ascends from the 1st floor to the 5th floor, the amount of noise is gradually reduced on a consistent basis to allow for an optimal level of focus. My personal preference lies with the exterior-facing sections of the 3rd floor due to the desk space, availability of electrical outlets, and the natural light exposure from the windows. Overall, fantastic spot for learning, 10/10 would recommend

If you can get into the elevator to reach the upper floors you'll find the book shelves aka "stacks" are too close together for a wheelchair to fit between them so you can't get to the books.

Very large, with lots of seating. It gets crazy busy during exam time so it's worthwhile to go in early. Also remember to try and book study rooms if you are a group, i found that easier many times.

Everyone talks so loudly, its dark, no lighting but its open pretty late so whatever and argo tea basically makes up for it otherwise DB Weldon would be a 1 star.

Beautiful place to sit down, get some studying done, or just relax. Six floors of books available for all your academic purposes, plus an entire online digital library available. Service desk has different hours than Weldon's official hours, and closes much earlier (usually around 5pm). Good place to print what you need, too. Stairwell looks a bit like a dungeon, but the floors have large windows that allow for a beautiful view and lots of natural light. Also, the underground tunnel connecting Weldon to the UCC is incredibly convenient in the winter.

Used to be good in my 1st year, now in my 4th and this place sucks. Went from food on every level to absolutely no food in the library at all which is a joke when you are studying 12-hour days. You will be publicly beaten and shamed by security if you are found with food. Sometimes you can bribe the guy with the triple chin and double mustache but don't count on it.

Finding a spot to study can be really difficult during exam times, but the upper floors are generally silent. The atmosphere of this building really does encourage studying ... or sleeping, depending on how much sleep you've been getting lately.

While Weldon can have its ups and down many people know it as the D.B. Penitentiary. Personally, I am not sure whether this is because it very much resembles a prison on the outside and some parts of the inside or if its just a nickname because its most students second home. Either way the library has good lighting and plugs for chargers in many areas, however in the winter it is so hot inside everyone's face is red!
