REVIEWS OF Penetanguishene Public Library IN Midland

I quite enjoyed this small library with my grade schooler. It was very clean, seasonally decorated, equipped with sanitizer and spaced out chairs and work areas. The staff were pleasant and gave us a tour of the collection to get us started. Probably standard by now, but they loan console games, DVDS & BLU-RAY, puzzles, boardgames, as well as of course books and ebooks. They do have some french books in their collection which is nice for the Franco-Ontarien in the region. There were PCs there but we did not use them. To another person's comment that you have to live in town, this is somewhat true - residents and/or students in Penetang and neighbouring communities get free memberships, all others can pay a 60day or annual membership fee. This isn't a surprise, it's their taxes that pay for the service and is common in every municipality I've lived in. I was allowed to browse and read without a membership, just not borrow from them. The only minor concern is the relatively small collection, which is expected in a small community.

The library is a vibrant space. The decorations, organised and executed by the friends of the library, are outstanding; professional, fun, ever changing and influence the mood of the space from Hogwarts' spooky at Hallowe'en, to old fashioned cheer for Mother's day. The staff are wonderful and helpful. The library itself offer more than books: games, puzzles, courses, clubs, special offerings, a teen space... They even have a puzzle corner where you can spend as little or as much time adding to a collective puzzling effort. I love going there.

The staff are super friendly, and they offer numerous learning groups for various educational experiences. Learn to knit. Learn Spanish. Learn so much! For a small town, the selection is nice, and with inter library loan and ebooks, the selection is fantastic. They even have a great selection of games and DVDs and more!

I just love it there! They always have friendly and helpful staff and a summer reading challenge every summer! Very peaceful there especially on the weekends when you want to just curl up in one of their fancy armchairs. It's usually busy on Wednesday but very peaceful any other day not only books but AudioBooks, Blu-ray disks, and DVD's, EVEN PUZZLES AND BOARD GAMES! feel free to bring your own device and catch up on schoolwork and work assignments with free WiFi! Even with a material chute for whenever the library's closed and you have to return something. whenever you have the day off be sure to visit!
