Not quiet at all when I visited. Reception is right by the study area, and 2-3 staff members were chatting all afternoon in a normal voice. Very disagreeable for study because of the staff behaviour. I'll never go there again, unless it's to talk too.

A very nice local library. Well designed; I like how the children's area downstairs is separated from the adult area upstairs. A good selection of material (books, magazines, movies, music, and games). It's in a great location and the inter-library loan system allows you to easily request books from any other WPL. Also very friendly and helpful librarians.

Saturday morning Family Story Time with my grandson was an absolute delight. Our storyteller was awesome! Branch was impeccably kept. Children`s section in the basement a cornucopia of delights for young readers. Staff friendly and helpful. Will return next time my little guy comes to visit on the weekend. Back again: Storytime today with my grandson at West Kildonan Library. Can't believe they are even considering closing this beautiful place. We can afford the Jets but not this place? We have never required literacy and family places more than now.

I usually come here for pickups or drop offs but it is a good library. Small, comfy, and the staff is really nice too. Very nice people working at the desk.

A wonderful cozy place with excellent mannered and very helpful staff. Had a six week online training with a friend and needed to make use of the library, the head librarian went the extra mile of offering us a private room for the course, and whenever the room was occupied , she gave us her office to stay so we could have some privacy. Super nice set of workers!

Well this is somewhat a review about the library but also one of its long time employees. Let’s just call him by the name we know him by which is simply “the king”. King of what you ask? Well take one look at the man’s facial structure and you’ll know what. You wonder why the king lingers around this place even after 42 years of working here. Many wonder why he remains….Is it because he likes dispensing useless dated knowledge from a simpler time? Perhaps, but more likely he’s just staying working in case that boy of his, (let’s just call him Smahlzee which is his real Hebrew name) gets picked up and arrested by the mossad again for “helping” those female tourists from Belarus the king might need to post his bail again….but that’s another matter. Did you know the king used to be in a band called the Hebrew 5? It’s a true story. Both he and his shiksa wife we’re both in the band together…what a touching story. Some say the king is too old and I say what is 105 years old? Just a number in my view. it is possible that the king is truly a time travelling multi dimensional vampire…..but I guess only on haloween lol. The king told us many stories of being a teenager during the holocaust where he was forced to make hinges, though never seemed to make enough as he put it. His stories moved many to tears. He’s a good guy who’s there for the guys or so he says to their face. The king is known to stumble out of shady houses and is known by many women of the eve but hey not bad for 105 years old. The king also likes to sneak up in his co workers in the lane when they’re having a private conversation but if only to ask if they think the bosses are out to get them. such a quirky old creepy two faced prick…. I mean good guy. Anyway lots of books here and the king will help you find anything.

Older library within Winnipeg. Have been coming here since I was a child now I am bringing my little one. Quiet and comfortable, whatever you are looking for is just a mouse click away.
