Visiting the library today I noticed that the staff were very standoffish. Three people who I encountered, were not helpful, not professional and not nice. It appeared to me that they are there for themselves,( the paycheck ), because they were of no help to me. Infact I obtained more direction from the security guard.

The renovation to the library outdid itself! Other than the building being immaculate, the selection of books and resources are vast and resourceful! If you aren't a member yet I think you should sign up for the library! You can also obtain ebooks and audiobooks from their online resources, but you have to sign up first!

The Peterborough Public library is one of my favorite places in town. I love it! The staff are great and the Library offers some wonderful programs and events for the kids too! I'm also really enjoying the temporary location at Peterborough Square, the layout is really nice. :)

Staff at the library are either fantastic, helpful, polite & welcoming or they are rude and unhelpful. These staff need lessons in customer service - lenders don't need the 3rd degree when renewing their card (who even knew library cards expired?!). Staff piling returns on the counter don't need to virtually shove lenders out of their way so that they may complete a task - the older lady working the returns needs to be reminded that customers come first ALWAYS.

There used to always be lots of sitting areas and great study area with loads of plugs for students which is great and it has reliable wifi and they have a cafe inside but currently the library is closed for large renovations started in 2016 and is currently located temporarily in Peterborough Square in the basement.

Always clean and staff is friendly, accepting, and helpful. Wheelchair accessible, lots of titles, wide array of children's titles, and all proper COVID protection in place.

This library has limited hours, a poor selection, and a large amount of wasted space. This is true for both their old and new locations. There are only a few obsolete computers that can only be accessed for an hour a day maximum. And not at all on Sundays. The software that runs on the computers is complete garbage and makes the systems difficult to impossible to make use of. Upon trying to use the library printers I ended up spending several trips and $5 just to get one half decent print. Considering that one computer can store more books than all of their shelves I don't see why they don't just invest in central compute server or hardware and run virtual operating systems across the entire space. It would be cheaper than their current setup, allow access to more users, and be significantly harder to hack. Even though the staff have limited technological knowledge they're very friendly and do try.

The building has a nice open design but still maintains a personal feeling, and over the years the staff have always been very helpful and very friendly. (I'm left scratching my head reading the review that said they were the opposite.) A great resource in person, and check out their online offerings for streaming movies, documentaries, television shows, etc.

What a small peaceful world I could find in this Library away from my 3 Kids who are around me all the time and seeking my attention every second. I Love my kids but I need to prepare for my exam. Lol.

What a beautiful library by the government - the building is brand new and is located at downtown Peterborough. Got a lovely selection of books and DVD's - all free if you register.Registration is free for residents. They also have a whole floor and section for the kids with toys and everything to keep them busy. We love spending time here when we can- WiFi and internet are free.The only thing you pay for is printing which is really reasonable. You could spend hours in here if you wish too and the staff are excellent - friendly and helpful. Parking your vehicle is a breeze as there is plenty of parking. A really good initiative by the government.

My family has frequented this library for many years. We have found so many wonderful books, videos, and children's activities to provide hours and hours of entertainment. Children's Story Time is a captivating experience for little ones. Sometimes it is in the park during the summer or at the Main Branch starting in the fall season. For families with little children, this library is excellent. For adults of any age, this library has audio books and large print books too. We love this place.
