A great 3D printing service with a very friendly and well trained staff!

There was a fat security guard that kicked me out of the library for no reson when i was in my online school.

I got kicked out for no reson by one of the security guards he was fat and kicked me out for no reson.

librarian was very helpful and friendly!

Weekly workshops open to the public and normal library on the top floor, then a more quiet study space on the lower floor.

They don't have faxing but you can scan to your email.

Decently sized library. Very open plan upon entering. Well lit throughout the building, save for dark room (which I can only assume is meant to be darker for whatever reason). Seemed to be quite clean inside, even during the winter. Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Have never felt unwelcome in the library. I often came here for printing jobs. Two printers near by each other made it easier; I've seen people print (probably) over a hundred or so pages at a time, so it is nice to have the other as an option. Not a terribly great amount of computers were obvious on entering; only 6 computers which required standing to use. I would imagine this could be an issue in the evening; other libraries I've been to with far more computers seemed to have trouble coping with the amount of people that came in to use public computers. Didn't have time to check out the library more, but at first glance, I question the amount of books they had available. The shelves seemed smaller, so that you may look over them, and the only taller shelves were on the walls. There may be more on the other floor.

very pleasant lady staff at the front desk, today, Nov 5, 2018. She explained and helped me get some online printing access. However, right or wrong, I had to pay one dollar for a plastic card. the 15 cents per page was not an issue, but paying for a card just cause it has some numbers on it....? I liked the quick access location of this library for my urgent email and printing need.

Really helpful staff, great library!

I totally agree with some of the other reviewers here, this library is extremely loud & noisy. Its definitely one of the more ghetto libraries out there. I put full blame on the Toronto Public Library for not taking any steps to enforce its own policies at this location.

The staff is really rude kicked me out while I was doing online class. There is a fat security guard he had problems with me for no reason and told me to leave the library after i left he told me to leave a public place a side walk threatened me and said he would ban me forever. Wouldn’t recommend anyone to go to that library.

Great library great staff awesome innovation hub

Definitely a grade saver place.

wonderfull

A lot of free esl classes.

me and my friends was on the online class and we didn’t do any noice but library security came to us and he kicked us on online class

This Library has been a great place for me and my friends to come and study in a great quiet learning enviroment.

Good library but very very noisy if you want to quite place you must not come. Downstairs is quieter than upstairs.

An okay place to read and review if there are no people. A little noisy, going downstairs doesn't help. Some people are so uncivilized, which is distracting. Oh and just recently I was distracted by a teenage couple making out in the library. Couldn't review well. Staff needs to attend to this issues.

Great library quiet place. Had no issues studying with friends even when our voices were a bit louder than most

You can't even be with your significant other without then thinking you are going to do "dirty stuff". It's ridiculous, reading a book together and they think we are ready to get freaky, at 12 in the afternoon????♂️

This was my childhood library. It has a lot of great resources, but is not always quiet and has some disrespectful people come in. I once saw some people come in with food and leave all their garbage in the kids' section.

The staff are very friendly ! But can get a bit noisy, I'm sure it get busier but I went at a slow period.

i was doing the online classes we didnt do any sound we was too quite but security kicked us to out

Helpful staff!

This place is great. I come with here with my son every weekend to look at books and use the computers. The people who work there are very nice.

Great quiet place to read or study, i found that unstairs is a little noisey. Thankfully they have an "adult" or "mature" atmosphere in the basement. Great selection of books and movies to loan, also they have plenty computers for all your needs. Staff are nice and friendly. Bad times to go are 3-4 pm during the weekdays as the school day is finished and is flooded with "students " coming form the nearby schools. I reccomend this library.

Very busy during weekdays, lots of kids, friendly and helpful staff! if you're looking for a quieter space, go to the lower level! Come lunch time, lots of teens come to hangout - which is a great to see but can be very noisy. Lots of cultural diversity and good programs available for all ages!

The librarians were so rude to me and my friends for no reason I don’t recommend anyone to go there.

it sucks

It’s a very convenient and nice library to visit.

really nice staff, quiet downstairs, lots of really interesting books, but REALLY REALLY LOUD children upstairs. wish their mothers would make them be quiet, like "shh, it's a library", (EDIT) but also after school i go there and from 3:30 to about 4:30 a bunch of teens are hanging out there, being loud and disturbing but the staff don't do anything about it. once a girl and her friends were throwing brussel sprouts at me, and the staff were watching me, like "what's she gonna do? cry?" so i couldn't take it anymore and just threw them over my head back at them. not very kind, if you ask me. this was a four star until i thought about that. (EDIT) (sorry) also, there are no washrooms that i could find, and the staff sometimes ask for money for an overdue item and say "okay, could you give me 25 cents more? I'll give you change" or something like that and just take your money and go. one time i paid for a book i wanted to buy, two books that were supposed to be four dollars with a ten dollar bill, and he just took the money and left.

Downsview library is closed for renovation as of October, 2019. It has been closed the library since September 3, 2019. But, fortunately, the renovation will not take much time to finish it. According to the library's website, the renovation will be done by the end of next month, November. This review will be changed when Downsiew library reopens its door to the public.

Lovely place, but need to control the kids who are always talking too loudly for a library. Alternatively, open up and ENFORCE a silent section.

As a person who goes to different library, I can say it is a cozy, big, not very quiet library. I enjoyed my time there.

The minute I stepped into this library, I was constantly ogled by two guys, no doubt natives of this charming neighbourhood. The library looks like something out of the 90's and feels dated and stuffy. Their quiet study section is a joke, as half the people talk with a regular voice, answer phones or do group work. I exited after 15 minutes and thankfully wasn't jumped on the way to the car. If you value your safety stay far away from this joint.

Too noisy and way too many kids. I agree that hanging out at the library is better than other places, however between the hours of school I dont understand why any kids are even there? Going downstairs in the " quiet study area" doesnt help either. The information desk is loud attending to clients, and the space used by another company is also very loud. They are always shouting out to each other. It you want a quiet space go somewhere else, or by ear plugs. Libraries are suppose to be quiet...this notion must be implemented.

Quite and comfortable place

Very helpful staff, clean and resourceful. Great selection and even audiobooks available.

Not much to do there because of covid. You can drop books and pick up books you have on hold.

Good service, dedicated staff abiding by covid-19 rules.

Old Asian woman at the front desk has terrible customer service and a bad attitude. I only asked where would I print sheets in color and had so much attitude in return. And apparently this library offers no color printing from the start? Basic services, no?

Loved it.. it is well maintained and staffed

Spacious neighborhood library on two levels with plenty of natural light. Study area is on second level. Some tables with power strips. Has Digital Innovation hub.

too many students talking in their regular voice, no one tries to keep them quiet. Place is too noisy, need better power from the staff

I really like this library it has many resources and the staff are friendly

Great help from people who works there !

The gentleman there was super helpful, genuine and kind. My first time at that location and would definitely go back for any services. ThankU!

Very helpful staff. They have installed a new self service printer for the public. I sat and watch the staff pretty much labor over teaching the public (including myself) how to use that new system. Thanks guys.

Very helpful staff ,neat and organized.

Closed.

The workers in the library kicked me out for me sitting in front of the windows with my friends. The security guard had a fatty stomach... I don’t recommend anyone to visit there thank you!!!!

You know what is more important than materialistic stuff. Knowledge.

Staff here a pretty nice. I find the staff are more helpful in the earlier hours and are slower later on in the day. All in all a good quiet place to do some work if you don't want to be in the office.

Drove over an hour each way to renew my out of town membership. This library took my money ($120)... and then failed to renew my card. (It's now listed as lost in their database.) I'm told they will only sort things out in person - I need to drive into the city AGAIN, with proof that I've paid before they'll make things right. Infuriating, to say the least.

Lawyer I think is here one of the afternoons free is cost .
