One of the worst libraries I've been to.. It's very noisy... Reception staff are also loud at times and I can hear everything when they talk or put books away. Computers and tables are set up like a can of sardines with very little elbow space. People are free to talk loudly on their cell phones, while teens play video games and swear. Unfortunately it's the only library close to home. Always a bad experience when I need to attend.

Its a pretty amazing place to relax, read or study (though it can get bit loud). They offer many programs for youth in their lower level as well. They have a nice collection of books as well not a lot, but not too little either. The librarians there are also very kind and welcoming.

I so cannot wait for North York Public Library to re-open. The Library at Bathurst and Finch is more of a daycare centre than a library. Kids are loud and parents don't seem to care, actually when they read to the kids they are even louder than the kids. The receptionist cannot set an example. The phone at her desk is set HIGH so you can hear it ring all the time. And she is the loudest of all, so you have no hope for some civility in the whole place. People coughing and sneezing on tables and chairs without any regard to patrons. Cell phones going off all the time.

Everyone is so loud here... the receptionists wanted me to speak so loudly to them. I signed up to receive a library card and was trying to explain to them that I had never done it before, but they were so rude to me. They were short and forceful, and it made me uncomfortable.

The paper bag princess display is amazing. Nice place, though it is a bit loud with people talking without whispering.

Plenty of natural light and places on which you can do your work. This library has a rich selection of books and the staff that is willing to help you. Just like all Toronto public libraries you can put a book on hold and pick it up here.

I have used this Library for many years (almost 20 years by my estimation) but I cannot believe that they are shut down for 4 to 5 DAYS because the air conditioning is not working. How long does it take to repair a/c?? I am not happy. I have 3 books to pick up. 3 books that I was looking forward to getting because reading and meditation get me through the challenges and tribulations of this pandemic. You have to do better than this TPL! Please....

never been there but is there the book "Mammouth académie" (french book) in this library?

This library is located on Finch Avenue West near the intersection of Finch Avenue West and Bathurst Street. Even though the library might not look like large enough, it has quite a lot of library materials such as books, DVDs, audio tapes, magazines, newspapers, and etc. They also have materials for various languages speaking people other than English and French.

As I know Library is supposed to be quiet and disciplined. In Centennial library, the staff members are so loud. They don’t even try to talk softly. How can they expect the library visitors to obey the discipline? People talk on the phone, eat like cafeteria, listen to music without headphones and crack jokes among the group. This library needs more discipline implementation and posters for the public to realize and respect other members who desperately visit library study and work. Every table should have some library rules for it to be a better place to read and study.

Too noisy and not enough space on computer place... Kids yealling around ... Almost impossible to concentrate on your reading!

Kimberly Littig

Clean library, helpful staff but very VERY noisy. They don't even try to be quiet or be respectful to the people trying to study. If your coming here to just lounge then its fine but good luck trying to study.

Anon Tablet

Plenty of seating and tables arranged in one area by the windows facing Finch. Outlets on walls and floor near tables. A more efficient space arrangement with more bookshelves and separate seating areas may alleviate noise complaints while expanding the collection.

I could give zero star for this location and the structure. Not the best despite all the apartments surrounding the area. Too noisy because the children's corner is right by the adults reading section. It's unfair to adults who go there to study. Great location. Something needs to be done please!

Jack Zou

good place but a little bit small

I don't know it's playground or library. Too loud...

I reside in Toronto and I was told that because my address was north of Steeles, they wanted to charge me. I expressed that I declined because I was moving shortly below Steeles and I would sign up then...and they kept trying to sell me to pay. It was extremely annoying.
