Very clean and quiet library to sit and do work or read. Staff is friendly and bathrooms are clean and you are permitted to drink inside. I usually come here Saturday mornings so I find there’s always available spaces but not sure about other times.

(Translated) Today, December 15th, 2018, we had the Christmas party for the English Conversation groups (3rd, 4th and Saturday). It was very good, seeing colleagues from other classes. And wish everyone a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! (Original) Hoje, 15 de dezembro de 2018, tivemos a festa de Natal para os grupos de Conversação em Inglês (3°, 4° e sábado). Foi muito bom, rever colegas de outras turmas. E desejar Feliz Natal e Próspero Ano Novo a todos!

Brentwood library is not open on Sundays just like today July 24, 2016 as it says here. However, it will start opening on the next Sundays beginning Sept 11, 2016 yet. I hope google can correct this error as this is confusing. For info, if somebody wants to know about library hours suggest to please go directly to the Toronto Public Library home website and select the branch you want to go to. That definitely is much reliable.

Great library to study. the staff is friendly and books are kept to pickup (so you are out in 2 mins)

Grew up on the Brentwood Library's books and VHS cassettes (later CDs/DVDs etc.). It was my go to resource for pleasure reading, school work/research, and other fun activities. You see, this was before the internet ;) Wonderful staff, great sessions for kids, warm and welcoming feel, a wonderful library and a staple of the community, truly. #library #libraries #brentwoodlibrary

Two Sunlight Lamps to get Vitamin D as you read ! Five chairs, Four plugs for laptop workers at the front window. Two desks with plugs in the magazine section, main floor. WiFi has always been stable for me. Much better than at the Reference Library.

Very kind and friendly staff, thank you. Looking forward to collaborate with you.

The second floor is a circus of noise performed by the staff. Patrons try to concentrate to no avail. Earplugs? Not enough, the noise comes through. Half the staff talk as loud as they can. If that doesn't bother you enough, you have the other half of the staff; they, instead of accommodating books back into their carrels, just throw them---making an even louder noise than the talking heads. It would seem that the staff at this library either hate their jobs, got their job as a favor---without training in library culture---or just perform subtle actions for people to leave---as it is indeed the case many times. I spoke with other patrons on their way out. Their reason for leaving? The noise. One would think that at a library at least the staff would behave as if they would be at a library, and not at an entertainment center.

Nice library. The quiet and concentrated atmosphere is conductive to productive work and studying. There are many seating options in a variety of styles. Overall, I enjoy my visits to this library!

My children, wife, and I really appreciate the friendly service at this library. The environment is always nice and clean

A library done right. Makes you feel fancy with its great interior design. Has a study room for teenagers/kids with bean bag couches and cushion benches. Wifi here is reliable and does its job. Librarians are always friendly at this location, never had an issue once. Wish all libraries were like this.

New building and pretty quiet!

Nice neighborhood library, multiple floors with a dedicated children’s area which includes books and toys. Modern, clean design with stroller/wheelchair friendly parking, doors and elevator. Upstairs has many workstations and armchairs with many outlets for laptop work. Free WiFi with a terrible connection (not sure if this is related to the number of people using it but it barely works even though the connection is strong).

The service at Brentwood library is good. I like this library, except the Teens area is often noisy, especially the time after 16:00. Thank you.

I disagree deeply with the review against the staff of this branch. In Brentwood -as in other branches in different places of the city- I found nice and helpful people who know how to give orientation about the resources of the Library. For many newcomers the public library is often the only source of entertainment and knowledge they can afford. An it is a high quality one. So my comment for the other reviewer is: this is not a graveyard, it is an alive place.

I was so excited to visit this library and drove quite a bit but only got there to find out it was paid parking! Parking is relatively tight and sparse. $3/hr and $9 max/day. It may not seem much to some but for me it is. I drove here in order to find some good material and get work done but was unable to. Perhaps I’ll visit the inside someday but not today. I heard the architecture is beautiful.

Spent some time here. Can be overcrowded.

My local branch, where the staff are always friendly and helpful.

An excellent neighborhood branch. Beautiful space, decent collection, dedicated areas. Enough computers for a district branch and a few isolated quiet study areas. Recent issue with occasional WiFi unresponsiveness, but that's about it.

Customer service is good. Quiet place. Not many of books as I expected and the time for borrowing is short. One thing I am not happy as they say they will notify when my requested books are there by email but I received no email or text whatsoever, then suddenly checked my account and saw I had a fine. The lady talked to me on the phone thought I lied. Then I told her to switch my account to receiving notification by text. Received nothing after that either. Now I have to check my account often to be sure.

Beautiful library in an upscale, leafy neighbourhood. Efficient and friendly staff.

Julian Dacosta

This library is not open on sundays

I agree with the high noise level. Especially in the youth area. I take my 7 yr old there to improve his reading but the moms are there to socialize and let their young children play and talk loud and squeal. You cannot concentrate. I move but only to find other chatfests. Too noisy!

Great library to get some work done. It is also a relatively new building (renovated around 2009 I think?) so the facilities are nice and clean.

I have always liked this library. Excellent location, great interior and exterior, friendly atmosphere, quiet, love the fire place etc. Lately, feels like a sterile and police zone. Red signs over 95% of computers, the remaining 4-5 computers are being sanitized every few hours, meaning no access. The printer not always works, WIFI is slow. Last but not least - the ladies could use a good up to date haircut and color. It feels depressing now. I realize, the times have not been favorable, but when is this going to feel like normal again?

Miss Dianne

I agree with the other writer about the noise. Earphone wearing staff member was putting the books away like he was tossing brinks. bang bang bang .Very distracting. LOUD ongoing text message notification every single time I come here. Every 10 min or so we all get to hear full volume text notification. Today there is a homeless guy sleeping on the bench at the top of the stairs. His multiple knapsacks etc sitting on the floor. No staff make a move to stop any of this. On the positive side , they are open to 8:30 5 days a week. It is large with lots of seating facing the windows. No one bothers you. I have been coming almost every weekday with my laptop to study and always feel comfortable and welcome.

I like this branch. I live close to it, so i keep going there often. The teen area is way too noisy sometime, and right beside it there's a group study room. Would be awesome if there was a quiet area.
