This is the most amazing place in Edmonton The staff was very friendly and helpful Special thanks to Elham May ALLAH bless you
I go all the time everyday to the area its getting better only thing is the drug dealers around ther
Cool place!!
The place has its pro and cons. The pro side is that it has a wide range of books, the staff was always helpful and friendly towards me, the security staff was always there guarding. The cons are that it is a small place, so I didn't find a place to sit and read, also the study rooms are mostly occupied and they smell super weird.
I often visits this place to spend my free time with books . I have read so books and all are amazing . The place is quite and calm, also the staff is good.
Excellent collection of books and visual media. Friendly and knowledgeable staff.
My favorite library! Great place to calm your mind, relax and learn!
Great place to take my kiddo and spend time reading. Very clean when we went and the staff were very helpful. Cheers
Great amenities available at the library. Needed to 3D print something and it was a good price to do it there. Came out good and the order processed quicker than I expected.
Amazing Library. It has a GamerSpace as well as a MakerSpace. Very wide and open and the parking fees are very very affordable.
the library is big and and has more to offer compared to other branches (the maker space is one example), but the atmosphere is definitely a no go! many homeless and suspicious looking patrons hang out there to either sleep or take your valuables when you're not looking (my cellphone was stolen this evening and i'm still MAD!!!).
Very Sketchy area.... wouldnt reccommend this place unless driving anywhere else is too far... Smells is dirty and overall a ZERO STAR rating max
Prostrate yourselves before the shining glories of the epl
Very disappointed to see the security guards hired here harassing and discriminating against homeless folks for sitting on the EDGE of the property line. The guards took photos of the individual, harassed him, and got in his face without wearing their masks. As I stood there and politely questioned their actions, I was told its “policy” to photograph all “trespassers”. Why would standing on the lot of a PUBLIC library be considered trespassing? If it was some commuter eating their sandwhich instead of a homeless gentleman having a smoke, the guards never would have batted an eye. “I’m just doing my job” is a terrible excuse to discriminate against people, and I hope the policies of the security team change drastically. Leave people alone.
Wonderful library, big and wide , the only thing negative is there are many people there whos just come and have a seat.
WOW this library has changed since I was last here! This is the best library I've been in, there's so much to do and all the employees are so helpful!
Great staff and great experience, way to go guys. Such a great job with all the fun things to do there. I he a great learning experience with the 3D modeling class. Very impressive
The staffs were very helpful and nice. The place is beautiful and clean.
Some awesome activities are setup here. They have a full kids library and a new digital media centre.
It was a great experience and it's kid friendly. Lots of great books and they have lots of computers to work at.
So much cool tech, for free!
Perfect place
Good hang out spot
Plenty of comic books staff is very friendly and helpful
Environment there is very comfortable for reading.
Fancy new library! Loved the exhibits and stuff for the young kiddos to do.
The staff are helpful, and they have a pretty good collection, but I stopped going here last year. If you're just looking for a specific title and you're going in to pick it up, it's fine, but staying here to read/study was an awful experience for me. I was sexually harassed by an older man who reeked of alcohol and wouldn't leave me alone. They usually have security around, but I couldn't find anyone, so I just left and never went back.
The library staff are pretty good but I can't wait till the new library is re-open in the new year.this library location is small and don't clean the bathrooms properly
The staff is friendly. Easy to find what you are looking for. Every facility you expect from a library is there. My only complaint is the lack of space. The place feels like packed and crowded. However as this is a temporary place, there will be much more space when they move to the new building.
One of my favorites places around the city :D
Lol joke of a spot, no customer service had me waiting for almost 45m to get my files.. the place is full of loud people wanna be rappers and smell like weed.
the reading rooms have large space but very limited tables and chairs
The coolest library I've ever been to! It's 3 floors and has every type of book you could ask for. They have the biggest language book section in Edmonton. The makerspace is incredible. There's something for everyone. Recording studio, gaming lab, 3D printing, seeing, Cricut, a million computers , a massive children's space, and so much more.
Definitely the best selection of all the libraries in the city, but security is a problem here, not a very welcoming place
Plenty of transients attending, mostly to keep warm, otherwise well policed, secure & clean. Washrooms are minimal but clean. Lots of washrooms in bsmt but they are all locked up. . . go figure. Not allowed any food or drinks in facilities. Must wear mask at ALL times. . . during covid. Hopefully covid will disintegrate & the facilities will become more friendly.the
Very good place for all types of books
It's nice, love the new look, let's see how it looks in a few years though... but as of 2020, **click noise** Noice!
Creepy, dirty, smelly, people talking, people eating, loud, people playing their music, uncomfortable, homeless people.
I would not give even a star if I can. Management should be improved A LOT. Every staff can not be responsible for what they said or promised. Go back and get trained. Customer had to call in and pay a visit again and again for the same issue but still need to explain to different staffs every time and didn't get even a reference number??? You just did nothing but waste time and customer had to pay for your mistake. Won't come back for this awful attitude towards your work and your clients.
Great library
Clean place..n lots of things there to learn for all ages ????
I came here this morning. Bf wanted to rent some games. It's a big library. Staff wasn't really helpful
New library is awesome great staff
Just visited the new library today! Such an amazing job and all the new creative spaces are awesome! Looking forward to going back as more areas open up.
The Stanley A. Milner Library is a great place for studying and just relaxing. It offers a huge selection of books, magazines, movies, etc., and activities for all ages. I especially like the fact that there is no fee if you want to apply for a library card. You simply show a government issued ID and a proof of residence in Edmonton to qualify. The library card is given to you on the spot.
Totally worth a visit, great architecture everywhere, light and bright, helpful staff and just loaded with books and technology for all ages and tastes!!
Wow! If u hadn't checked this new Library out, then it is a must! They have an awesome Games room???? for the kids. As well as many other stations like sewing???????? or Lazer 3D printing. There's even a recording room!????????????(if ur a singer!) And many many other things u can do!
This location is very cramped but the people at the front desk are nice and helpful.
Is a very clean an organized place for everyone to enjoy and still have private space
Beautiful library. Very engaging
Amazing library, but please please add more seating that isn't super low chairs! It's hard to do homework here
Well done! We focused on the kids section and was real new and clean. Books are brand new and very well organized. Lots of variety of books that we just spent hours and hours to go through. We LOVE the toilet! There's a tiny toilet and sink for the little ones too. Parking is a pain though downtown. Underground parking is like $5 per hour. Parking tickets are flying if you don't pay attention. So definitely would suggest dropoff.
Fantastic staff and a great system to get books from other libraries. All in all I was impressed.
Excellent staff. Facility looks like from another world. Neat.
Its a very nice spacious, cleaned, well lit up and architecturly interesting place in the heart of Uptown Edmonton they also have several preety looking librarians. Separate game room, 3D printers as well. Modern technology and local art speaks to it self. Its worth a visit.
Clean facilities, friendly staff, lots of space (not as much as the old one). Helpful staff and great facilities.
What a GREAT library. World class and beyond! Definitely redefines what a public space is about, wjo it is for and what it can become. So impressed.
Just a great place! Tons of books, helpful staff, clean environment (Except bathrooms) if you can get past all the mental health problems of our today society, It's just a great place to be!
Really neat facility on the inside. Well worth a visit, libraries are so much more than books nowadays!
If you want to check out some major renovations, it's here!
Friendly atmosphere but last time I used the computer and tried to log out I got blue screen of death. Be careful what you type into it, try not to give all your information.
nice place
Overall a great experience, it has an escalator and a comfortable chair to sit in and even the security were polite to me.
Amazing and helpful staff, and a great spot to get cheap 3D printing done - 10 cents per gram at the MakerSpace
Smells like body odor and old liquor
Lots of reading material to choose from - very large sections, lots of reference books. Lots of library programs. Great location nestled in the middle of downtown. Loses one star because I once fell asleep while reading and the librarian called the police on me, 3 policemen escorted me outside and treated me like a criminal - completely unnecessary (had many appointments downtown including jury duty and a writers meeting). This library has a reputation for homeless and questionable people wandering in.
Spent 3 hours with 6 and 8 yr old grand kids. So much to do. Loads of fun.
The fact that homeless people come here is a sign that it is welcoming to all people.
What a waste of the taxes we pay. This library has everything a modern library is supposed to have. I love the size of this library, the books' collection, courteous & helpful staff, children's library, and other facilities. But extremely unfortunately, it has been a home of homeless natives. The problem is not their existence but their behavior. They are usually intoxicated and hence unreasonable. To elaborate, they are abusive, disrespectful, provocative, and noisy. I like to go to libraries to read and work, but I never find a silent study space in this library; either someone talks on phone, someone talks to himself, and visitors are generally disrespectful and don't maintain silence. If you want to study then don't go to this library, if you must then don't go without ear plugs.
I love EPL.
Great atmosphere
This place is huge! We looked at 3 floors. People were friendly and helpful. There's a MakerSpace which is really cool. You should go check it out for yourself!
Loved it and I was only on the one for(the kids floor) they have alot going on, PlayStation and Xbox stations set up, there's an indoor toddler play yard, some rolling hills complete with Astro turf(fake grass) for the kids to train on, there's really just alot to explore. I wasn't to check our the rest of the place. Never time I guess. Oh and they have a3d printer that i believe you can try for free. Fun time for kids.
Awesome place for those who are book lover . I personally like to ready some interesting stuff which is already available here. last time visit here on Monday and had read some stuff. the place was perfect for study and relaxation . i highly recommend this library.
The makerspace is a great way to play with 3D printing. You can use their computers or find pre-made files for free only and email them to the library. They'll print them out and you pay by weight. The cost is extremely low. The only downside is the time it takes. The last piece I had printed took a month and a half to be ready.
Genuinely a wonderful place. Everyone should go to the library
Not a fan
This library is ruined by all the hobos.
Awesome friendly space that is easy to navigate!
The EPL itself as an institution is great, and the staff is excellent, but you have to tolerate being accosted by zombies at the entrance.
August 26, 2021 the new location of the library is the the old location but renovated. It is an amazing renovation. You have to come to experience it. Lots of open air areas and seating is plenty. This is a review of the temporary location at the Bay building at Jasper and 103 St. It’s small location so extremely crowded. It has all the services of the library at their regular location at Churchill Square but not a lot of material. If you need something specific then you will have to order it and wait. This location is old and not so clean. It’s well lit. It’s a good thing the new main branch will be opening in February 2020 because this location is nasty.
Awesome!
The renovation has made this the best library to bring kids to in the city. The staff was so kind, friendly and extremely helpful. Lots of things to keep kids engaged, and obviously great selection of books too.
I'm an eight-year-old boy. I just came back from this library branch and I want to say that this is the best library I have ever visited!!!???? It has a makerspace, a gaming area, a 3-D printer and of course, my favorite place: the big wall with an electronic aquarium that gives you info about whatever fish you click. It has a gigantic collection of interesting books, but the thing I love most about it is the staff. They are really nice and helpful, and this particular staff helped me make my first 3-D print. Her name is Janet. Thanks a lot, Janet!???? I'll definitely visit this library again! I really recommend this branch!
Can’t believe it is Public ! ????
Super cool and like the wall TV the security messures need a lift
This location of the library at the south end of Churchill Square is closed until 2020. A complete refurbishment is taking place. The new temporary location is on the NE corner of Jasper Ave and 103 St.
The makerspace is pretty cool and it has a lot of neat spacea
Ita nice. Lots of security. Very clean and brand new. A little confusing for sure
Like others have said the layout is great they have a nice makerspace. The Librarian is very helpful and knows a thing or 2 about books and where they are located. The Library location and the ordure makes it a lower star. Would be great other wise
Lovely space, huge selection. Great kids' space just off the main entrance with lots of activities, play centres, computers with educational software.
It a nice library

Best library in Edmonton!
Best library branch in the city. It makes really good tourist spot too if you're visiting and wanting to see what Edmonton has! It is tough to say what kind of library is EPL. There's a tech area called the makerspace where you can learn about 3d printers, sewing machines and the hot press, music practice rooms, their fabrication/welding area, plant biology and more! There's many areas where you can read or study or just chill, especially the big screen in the lobby. Only down side is that there are sketchy people that tend to come in, but it's mainly safe since the staff are nice and security is monitoring around. There is the children's area for kids activities and books and their own mini makerspace. Then there's the gaming area and oh boy it's a room I reccomend if you ever wanna play games on a console or PC. There's also 3 TV but the big one is mainly for switch games. You must book a place there before you go though since it's kind of small. I reccomend the Gaming lounge! There is a culinary kitchen in the works currently of October 2021. They probably will hold cooking classes or contests! Can't wait to see it too! There's many areas you can explore and it's almost an endless experience
Good library, good selection
A beautiful building with amazing areas inside full of art, learning and a makers area. Go check it out!
Looks like its a great place to go in and use the computers for thugs who like to sit around and share stories of how the followed cornered and assaulted someone in the library washroom. The place is dangerous despite regular police presence because of some of the people it attracts. People seem to regularly taunt each other at the computers. Just be wary. Edit- different visit add to review.had better experience... A person so moved by one book one story or even a poem or sentence can cry. I tried to feel the whole library together, the works of man, all the purpose, art, music, hopes and dreams, all the endeavors of man distilled in the library one place, alive feeding the minds hearts of our city. I felt the harmony of purpose of all the people peaceably come to this place, some playing on the computer some reading a few sleeping and snoring others playing chess. Everything freely accessible to any who respect it at no cost or charge even to the homeless are there and who come. I walked through the library and felt all the parts, the history, the present, the possible futures cumulative in all the books. I walked through the sections and I considered all the potential being tapped and touched in the placed and the cumulative sum potential of all the lives and books being lived and realized before my eyes as I walked though. I went to the heritage section into a quiet corner and sat between the books that sleep long undisturbed and retreated alone for some time.
fawkn awesome ???? ???? ???? Edmonton got a big of class.
Loved the old one, cannot wait for the new one
Awesome library. I love the makerspace. Can't wait to see the new place after renos
Has some cool things in the library
Great job with the renovations! Well worth the wait!
I cannot get enough of this awesome place. There is so much for kids, teens and adults. The wait during renovations was not fun but seeing the new space, it was well worth it! There are so many opportunities and programs for community members, and the children's library is SO FUN. The staff are top notch. We had such a great visit today and I really appreciated how the staff responded when someone was in need. Can't wait to be back!
Love this place! Opportunity to use the multi media space for video editing. Thanks Edmonton!
Vey New and cool
Decent library lots of books. Has cool tech for people to use when open. Lot of Japanese comics too.
I love EPL, and i used to love this branch most. But all the cool things you put in won't make up for the debasement of just getting in there, through the screaming and spitting and fighting and stink right outside the door. Hard pass.
Lots and Lots More fun
They were extremely helpful in searching & reserving a book for me
Very exciting building with modern features galore, like timeslot availabilities for use of the 3D printer.. And it's one of the best machines from a few years back, a Prusa i3 mk3
Waiting for it to re open
Wild could be better but there doing what they can
I had a great time with Daniel today ☺????????
This place is amazing. There are great features like recording studios and 3D printers. This is an awesome resource for the creative community.
It's a great place, however, it does smell of homeless people.
One of the most awesome libraries I have been. Besides the books they have videogames, movies and audio discs. There is a full studio and you can borrow instruments and recording equipment. A video studio with chroma key is provided for content creators. Four 3d printers make the space very versatile, with Gamer PCs on demand.
Liked this library, some books they don't have thats why i rated 5 stars Loved the Makerspace,Close to the City center
Horrible library.
April 12 Aproximetly 15:30 hrs . The librarian gave extremely bad and rude service . Was yelling trough the glass and expected me to hear her . I couldn’t . I went to the door so we could talk and she slammed the door in my face when I finally got in contact with her she yelled and was not helpful I k ow it’s a pandemic but com on EPL ............................
Good staff but this library is a homeless spot.
Ugly "new" building. A monument to the waste of tax dollars.
Great place to be and across the street from it is an awesome space to hang out. You can actually catch the library's wifi there.
Please update your holiday hours
Mr Richard Thornley branch "manager" enjoys harrassing patrons. If you want a peaceful library experience, go anywhere else.
Fantastic. Wow factor is big. Loved children section the best
They always had good services to me when I came to the library????♥️
I really appreciated the incredible help I received from the staff in the Makerspace at the main branch of the EPL. They were very knowledgeable, cooperative and willing to help in the preparation and printing of my memoirs. Kudos!! Thanks heaps!! Irma
Nice new building with books, magazines, AV, lsrge children's area and makerspace.
Wonderful space, amble seating and especially enjoyed the children's area. I did not feel safe as masks were not being enforced. This risks other people's safety during the increased covid numbers, I also noticed that in the childrens areas , there wasn't any mask wearing. No sanitizing after people touching items and seating down. While the building is an amazing place, I guess, the library does not concern itself with covid protocol. I will not be returning during this pandemic as going to the library is a huge risk.
The new building is great. I love the library!
Love the new library! Easy access for parking with the parkade. It's bright and airy inside. The staff were able to help me track down a ton of books that I was looking for. Can't wait to go back
Everything about this newly renovated library is so amazing.... the spaces are great, and also cozy and relaxing. Kids loves their friendly and entertaining area. ????????????⭐
Nice place to relax but it resembles more of a homeless drop in centre than a library. I do bring my son here but am becoming more concerned of the drug use in the washroom and the drinking of alcohol throughout the library. I hope when the new library opens there is more effective security to monitor this problem.
I can sit and watch the interactive wall for hours it's fabulous. Wide open well laid out
This library is very clean and relatively quiet. Lots of space, so people can be spread out. The lighting is good and great air quality. You can access the Capital line and Metro Line LRT without going outside.
Great. Very wide open.
I absolutely love EPL! Great variety of books, DVDs and CDs. Educational toys and special events for kids. A lot of tablets and computers available for public use. Lovely staff! It is my favorite place to go with my 3 year old daughter!
I really like the Maker Space at the temporary Bay-Enterprise Library, but last time I was there there was a workshop and the staff person was extremely loud, like she was giving a theater performance! Also, the Mac computer seemed really, really slow and I wasted about an hour waiting for it to properly save my project. Other library users were also extremely loud and inconsiderate and I swear they were hi or stoned. I know that libraries are trying to serve everyone and evolve, but it would be nice if they were quieter, if they weren't used as homeless shelters and if they cleaned the washrooms so they don't smell so terribly.
Disappointed. What's the point of a library when there's no quiet place to read? People playing games and cursing loudly or watching movies and laughing loudly, even in the reading rooms. The only quiet ones are the security guards.I left out of frustration.
Cool library but too many crazy patrons.
Meh.
Kind of a sketchy crowd hanging around here BUT the staff is amazing and EPL is always so great and accommodating
The new Library is beautiful! The foyer with the giant HD screens is impressive. The dinosaur exhibit is top notch. The children's section is spacious and has the right mix of activities and features which makes a long visit with a toddler possible. Bathrooms are modern and include child size toilets and sinks.
Very rude service I was given today. Decided to sit in the children's area of the enterprise library to read a book since most of the library smells and is shady (homeless camp) a librarian goes and tells her manager that I am taking over a sofa that is reserved for children. The time is 9:17 am and like for heaven's sake do you expect children to be at the library this early, in the most shadiest part of downtown Edmonton. I guess this experience calls me to complain on the rude behaviour I was given. They can't control the homeless people coming in but for hard working Edmontonians who pay taxes they seem to have an issue. Won't be returning back.
Awesome place to study
Great customer service, beautiful library. Can't wait for my programs being offered in the fall.
I went to the makerspace project area of the library to use Adobe Illustrator. Zane and Jasper were very friendly, patient and helpful. Teresa on the second floor was super helpful and knowledgeable. She gave me tips for efficient printing. I'm not sure why they don't have a printer in the makerspace though.
Rad children's area!! Great interior!
Very Helpful.
Really big nice and clean, haven't yet explored the whole library, but it's nice
I am Greatful for this Tempory library site. Small as it is. It still helps The People...
Beautiful building rude staff. Lady with the short brown hair and of a bit of a darker complexion was super rude to me when asking a question about the computers on the third floor. Will not be back I’ll go to a different library in Edmonton. Don’t be working in public service if you are going to be giving people attitude.
Congratulations!! on your award. You are the Best
This EPL has a lot of security on standby and patrolling which is very relieving to see since so many distinct people come here. The washrooms could be updated and be kept clean.
Nice atmosphere.
Inside is a beautiful, airy and exciting. Love the video wall, all the nice art pieces, quiet places to study on the 3rd floor, excellent childrens' library on the first floor. 3D printing, t-shirt presses, music studios in the Makerspace have to be booked online. Love it. Outside is a bit weird looking, no doubt. Can't wait for the Second Cup to reopen.
Way better then expected..sound booths games events music classes arts and crafts.....
Awesome place
Outside it's a bit blahs and industrial. Not particularly attractive IMO. Inside however it's modern, spacious and comfortable. The inside make up for the outside.
Wonderful place. Great selection, more than a parent could ask for kid section wise, friendly staff, wonderful resources, and fantastic drop in programs. As for the homeless "problem" it is really not that bad, there is a security guard there if any real problems arise, and most people that come in off the streets are there to access resources to help them find jobs, homes, health care etc. The public library is for everyone. Please don't let some of these reviews stop you from going to this location, it really is a great spot . :)
Phenomenal facility with great health and safety measures in place. Good for all ages.
I don't go to this location very often now because too many staff ignore patrons or treat everyone disrespectfully. The machines don't accept small change when you only want to print out a couple of pages. I can't go to the gym on the same day because security said they didn't want carts in the library (that's how I carry my gym gear). Lots of homeless-looking people, so it's hard for them to keep the place clean. Too many staff aren't knowledgeable enough about the technology they're using. However, Ben in the Makerspace is all kinds of awesome. Knowlegeable about commonly-used software whether it's in the Makerspace or not, a good teacher, and good with people. The one star is solely for him.
Can we please design a system in Canada where I can renew a book as many times as I want obviously I would eventually buy my own copy.
It was free,it was fun
It was awesome
Beautiful, quiet, and vast! A wonderful place to enjoy the city for awhile. Staff were great!
Makerspace is just awesome! I've had nice time there, and staff is really helpful. Do you have trouble when mearning a program? Ask Zane, Ben or whoever is there, all of them are really supportive. Also, they have such interesting programs to help Edmonton community, just get in and have fun while learning. Enjoy!
The entire library smells like homeless people.
Best wishes and thanks again for your time and consideration I have an idea of the day I was reading thanks again
This is a world class library, we are so lucky to have such a wonderful resource here in Edmonton. Do yourself a favour, visit this library and enjoy what is has to offer.
It's very spacious.
