It is a decent library and staff are very helpful but not a conducive environment for quiet studying. When I visited there to study for my exams I got distracted by all the noises other people make and one staff talks loud as well. I would really prefer an individual table as well that I didn’t have to face the person in front of me when studying.

This place has a great collection. We are lucky to have this near by to our home. Had helped us in many ways and we are thankful for the services offered here. We got many books for our little one here and they have played a major role in her personality development !!

Good library to go to use a computer ???? or borrow books ???? or DVD ????

Take a book, leave a book.

Great library located centrally in Uptown area of New Westminster. Good selection of books, magazines, movies, audio etc. Working/study areas upstairs and downstairs. Well designed layout. Helpful and friendly librarians here.

Great library except for the fact that they like to turn the light on and off repeatedly for the last 10 minutes before they close. I would be nice if they could just verbally communicate that instead of forcing people to leave 10 minutes before close in the middle of writing an email, writing their documents, etc.

Good.

gotta love the peace and quiet when the outside noises get to be too much

Nice cozy old library. Located at centre upper town in New Westminster. Very clean and organized.

Boring,no place to study????????????????

Loads of services. Lots of staff and a easy layout. Open good hours most of the week and lots of new materials regularly.

Absolutely incredible selection of CDs, huge. Best I've seen in a library anywhere, well organized. Love this place

great place to learn and teach

NWPL is currently closed. It has just started a service called Takeout where you order materials online and pick up in person at the door.

Looks great after the refurbishment.

Recently moved to New Westminster, and decided to get a library card here. Its awesome since I can browse and request books online. Plus they offer access to various online education sites like lynda and rocket languages. Very happy with it so far.

The staff is very helpful

Very nice facility. Two floors full of all kinds of books, media like dvds, audio books etc. There is an elevator and staircase. PCs and photocopy machines are ion the second floor. You can book then for an hour at a time and then extend this time in shortening intervals. You need to open an free account with them for better service. You get an unique ID card. You can also download ebooks and audio books online. You can put a hold on books online and then go pick them. Open 6 days a week though half day on Saturday. Books can be returned anytime during the day by sliding them into the deposit slot to the right of the main entrance. Sitting areas ion the both floors.

This is a small older library but we love the library! The thing that is especially nice is the sizable kids reading/play mat area.

I had never used a library for working purposes in my life. This New Westminster library opened my world to a while new style of working. This place is quite well equipped and all that you need to work peacefully. It's the best I have ever seen. The staff is so good too. I wish it stays open till 9 pm on Friday. But I understand everyone needs a weekend ! Lol

clean

Ground floor with books, CDs, etc. Upstairs a computer room for library subscribers. Information can be printed, but this costs. The staff there can help you with this. The access time to each computer is limited, but can be extended in periods of low traffic. The place is very quiet. It's not a noisy place. However, in my opinion, it is not the ideal place to study unless you can abstract the movement of people, the inevitable discussions between clients and the staff who work there, etc. Sometimes, in a dedicated section, actions are organized for children.

Amazing and very helpful staff.

Absolutely love it here. I haven't been back since Covid-19 restrictions were put in place, but my sister says they are handling them well. I first came here because I needed a book and my college library didn't have it. The librarians were so helpful in getting everything set up, and helping me navigate the library. The selection is huge, and the building is beautiful. It's definitely a great place to spend some time, and to find that weirdly specific book you need.

It's a really small library

Great collection of books for all ages. Loved the toddler collection of books.

It was a unforgettable experience as the library holds a vast history in itself . It is 150 years old and still very well maintained and lot of variety of books and easily accessible . I enjoyed my time with the library and appreciate their services.

I had a lady named Stephanie help me borrow a book through the library on my KOBO over the phone. I was waiting at the Montreal airport for my flight and wanted to download a whole bunch of books before I left. She went above and beyond, followed up as promised and I got all the books I wanted for my holiday reading list. I cannot emphasize enough how impressed I am at the wonderful customer service and overall attitude to get things done! Thank you Stephanie for your help!

Library is not open today.

Friendly, nice, and helpful staff. Printer, scanner and copy machine are also available, very clean and organized place

New renovation is completed in April2018, now open again! Very spacious and resourceful, and I especially like the workspace on second floor. Plenty of working desks, great architecture design to let sun light penetrate the whole room. Highly recommended to locals and visitors. Last but not least, please keep quiet.

Staff are very accommodating and helpful.

Big facility with books of many genres. The best part is that you get free Lynda membership if you are the member of the library. Also, nice internet connection.

I have been to the library a few days ago and It has been impossible to study there, I noticed that people chat freely and don't respect that the others are trying to concentrate. It as nonsense lack of respect!

A lovely place to be in the neighborhood where we live. Used printing- service, books, movies, and the children play-section for my 10-m-o son. If I want to have some thoughts for a better change at the library, it would be this: I was told that the library will not bring more toys and baby stuff "because of theft". It can prevented by other means. The little ones love playing in such an environment, and we take ours here sometimes, and he plays with couple of the available toys, he soon gets bored and starts pulling books off of shelves. It would be awesome if there are more toys and play-stuff for kids.

Very peaceful place to study or read, they always have the books or movies i need.

Excellent collection of books, literature, DVDs and a comprehensive collection of recorded music and CDs. A kids area has its own books, magazines, educational material, DVDs as well as you can borrow video game discs for free. One of the better interlink library branches.

with the money that was spent for the renovation you think they would have used some of the money to upgrade their computers. I'm tired of them lagging and messing up all the time. I end up wasting my minutes cause they freeze

A very queit and lovely Library, the best place to gather your Ideas!

Love local libraries ))) So many things to do

Helpful staff, no charges for services

Amazing library: always clean, extremely organized, professional and Friendly staff. I really like the new renovations and self-checkout options. Apparently the books are radio-frequency tagged so you don’t have to scan the barcode anymore (according to a librarian). You just place up to 5 items on the checkout scanner bed and it scans the DVDs as well! They offer great workshops thru WorkBC sometimes and various learning programs. My fave part is discovering new books and DVDs from their featured shelf. This book on The History of Tennis is one such new find :)

Fantastic place and great book collection.

Newly renovated library is spacious and it is nice and quiet place for binge studying. I often visit this library when I need perfect atmosphere to study. The staff is very helpful. Only thing I miss here as compared to Queensborough library is the quiet room is not always available for individual person and can be booked for limited hours only. For certain hours it can be booked only if there is group of 2 or more people. There are always some noisy people and they should use the quiet room for group discussions to not to disturb others.

Newly renovated! Nice and clean!

Yes good place

They are awesome i owed them $95 because i didnt return a book when i was 5 and they cleared my debt.

Great local library. Not large, staff are helpful.

Great selection at this Library.

I love the changes they made to adapt to Covid! It seems like there are more options than ever!

This library can't be compared to a super modern and brand new one, but everything is kept tidy and works fine. They have a big archive and somewhat okay for electronics as well, it is enough to be honest. The staff is super friendly and respectful. I started using more the library after I moved to New West.

I didn't spend much time here as I was looking for a specific book but the staff was friendly and helpful to take me to it and set me up with an account.

One of the best libraries of any size I've ever had the pleasure to use.

This library has a large number of cd's and dvd's. There are a lot of computer terminals on the 2nd floor, but there may be a wait to use 1 of them. I like the mobile printing feature. Basically you can email a document to their printer. You then have 4 hours to go there and print it out. There is no charge for the service but the printouts are 20 cents each.

Decent place to study and work. Free WiFi and lots of power outlets.

Great location Staff are helpful on our first time here

Spacious. Great desk areas. Beware of any noisy individuals. The security staff dont really do much and seem afraid to try to do anything. Had a guy in front of me tapping his fingers LOUDLY on his desk for 30 min or so. Even with complaints, there was no stopping him. He is a guy neaely bald with glasses and is thin. If you see him, prepare for an obnoxious presence.

Always cozy, can't wait to see the place after renovations!

I am a newcomer to BC. Recently moved to New Westminster and decided to get a library card here. Friendly, nice, helpful & courteous staff. Thank you so much ‘Tasha & Isabel’ for your kind help. It is a very clean and organized place. Loads of services. It's awesome since I can browse and request books online. Plus, they offer access to various online education sites. Very happy with it so far. Thanks!

Amazing.

Good, quiet place to study.

A great local library with a surprisingly extensive collection and helpful staff. Love the new checkout system and building rents.

Unfortunately you can't stay longer than an hour. If you try they kick you out. I don't see the point in making the trip there if you have to leave right away.

Excellent, great place.

Quite place

A very nice and well organized library, lots of space and very clean. I usually come here to study for my examinations review. The staff are very helpful and very professional.

Although the library is under renovation now, they are open, and the staff are really friendly and they did everything they could to help me complete my tasks. Big thanks to the library staff and the senior supervisors.

There's an ok selection of books, there's decent seating as in you will most likely find a a seat, theres a diverse crowd of people.... but it's always quite so not to shabby...

Excellent management , staff and managers are very friendly and supportive. Had a good experience...looking forward for buying a new car very soon.

Good services

I love this library

???????? no 1 library ???????????????????????? very neat and clean and very nice environment

Good selection of sci-fi.

Conveniently located near shops and eateries. Clean, readily available hand sanitizer, crowd control, clearly marked lines, and distance protocols. Printer, scanner, computers and work stations readily available. Currently a 1 hour time limit.

Great selection of books and very helpful staff.

3 users inside. I was still not allowed to stay more than one hour doing legal research.

Have just started using this facility. Lots of great features, including extensive public access IT amenities. The IT stations are very well attended right up until close, and extending library hours seems like a good idea, Powers That Be, hint hint. At present, I'm mainly interested in using the library as an adjunct work space and for connectivity, so it matters to me that I be able to concentrate while there. The staff is very helpful and courteous in just about every respect but maintaining the quiet. Why aren't staff more proactive in alerting library goers when they are making too much noise? I mean, it IS a library, right? I know they can do it, bc they are super extra proactive about mobilizing ppl outta there in the half hour before close ????

Very good place

I loved it! Very courteous and helpful staff. Found rare editions... very comfortable. Well displayed. Spacious.great location.

It's a good library for a city with the population of around 60,000. Offers programs and employment assistance.
