It's a pretty good system really. Staff helpful and usually fairly friendly. It's a vital community resource for sure, and seems to be a safe space for marginalized folks in our community. I like the interlibrary loan service they have.

Enormous library with a wide selection of books. It's busier than normal libraries but still a great place to come and read. They also keep newspapers for anyone interested in those alongside other books, movies, etc.

Like the fact that I can simply click on "GVPL" and connect to wifi. No hoops to jump through like opening up a web browser that then redirects me to a login page. No barcode numbers & passwords to enter. Nice spot to turn into my office when in town.

Awesome library. Lots of books and other media for loan. Easy to access with friendly help available if needed. Free parking in the city lot for the first hour so no cost to park while checking out or dropping off your books.

Humming along, again, though there has been a slight reorg of the layout. I went for a meeting with no reservation, so was told there may not be a private room available. We soon found a comfortable workstation in the corner, however, so never pressed further to find out. All in all, our needs were met, and it's good to see the library back in "business"! :)

The library itself is dark dingy and dirty. The staff is horrible, rude, and seem like they hate their jobs. I cant stand going there but have to sometimes due to study room availability.

Covid restrictions are in place. Masks, sanitizer, and distancing. No bathrooms. If you're just there to pickup, you can be in and out in 3 minutes. I would not recommend browsing. The selection is meh. Haven't interacted with staff in a while however, I think they would be as helpful as in the before times.

Victoria library claims to be open, but it’s a 5ft by 5ft loop around one bookshelf with one standing computer . ITS NOT OPEN FOR THE PUBLIC TO BROWSE, WORK, READ, OR STUDY.

Unhelpful staff. The restroom is more often than not full of junkies. The parking garage can be creepy, but I guess that's true of any parking garage in Victoria.

The public library system is great including all the stuff they have online now. But the actual selection of books here is kinda embarrassing? Are there levels to library I’m missing? Uvic has so much more if you just want to explore books.
