This Library belongs to the category of Library.
This library is disappointing. They have a fairly large space, but don't make good use of it. The bookshelves are placed in an inefficient way, and there is not enough seating. The selection of books is also very disappointing; it's mainly (like 80%) contemporary fiction with some romance and mystery. They only have a very small handful of classics, and even fewer books of science fiction and fantasy. Even their nonfiction is sadly lacking; I looked through the history, languages and craft shelves, and the selection was woefully limited in all of those sections. So if you're not into contemporary fiction or romance, there's really nothing here to read, and that's very sad. The kids section may be better (I would hope), and they do have a 3D printer and an audio recording studio, but I'm unimpressed with a library that has basically just one type of book. A public library should be better than that.
I love the Brampton Library, and Chinguacousy Branch in particular. There's lots of space to work or study, a nice big area to read with kids, and the 3D printing lab is great. I've only been in the recording studio once but it's amazing that it's there at all, and it seems good to my untrained eye.
The library has comfortable seating, friendly staff, plenty of relevant books and clean environment
i have no choice than to visit because it is close to work. An old man came in here and was loudly watching an X rated movie.. probably with the rented laptop and none of the staffs said anything. A guy seated in front of him had to go to his table and he stopped because everyone turned back to look towards his direction. he was seated right in front of the wall (the last seat) which is perfect for such nastiness in public with kids!
Too loud, crowded, lack of power plugs for computers, but very convienient for me since its by the bus station , the mall, the cafe inside its a bit overprice . Upstairs theres a 1hr computer no need to use your library card. Bathroom are fairly clean.
Too crowded. Too small therefore noisy.
Good facilities. Helpful staff. If you need to register for a library card, bring an ID with your address on it or any letter with your address in it.
Very nice is open 12pm
Always quite and peaceful. Friendly staff and this location also has a lot of books available too. Nice public place for your quick study or reading session. They also have computers and also you can get your print job done as well!
Small and noisey. Feels like I am at the flea market or something. Please create a proper quiet study area...
Convenient location which is close to the mall, bus terminal, etc. Plus, it was very helpful when my desktop computer was not working.
Amazing experience with great staff cooperation.
Polite staff, great collection of books, neat and peaceful place.
Nice experience
It's too noisy!! There is always kids crying in the first floor, and the annoying printer sounds in the second floor
New covid setup was organized, felt safe. Order books through online app and pickup in branch. Very polite and helpful staff! Got my book, they will email you when it's ready.
Growing up I would go here to use the internet, read manga, rent games/movies, such a fantastic library. Even saw my first porno mag here....That being said I don't think it was the library's. Recently going there, the book selection is even more fantastic than I remembered, and going here is actually awesome. Yes, you can rent video games at libraries. (Don't hold me on it anymore though.)
The only good thing about this library is the sizing as you can go around to find some sort of quiet space rather than being on one small floor. I don’t appreciate how the staff just talk amongst each other and are always laughing very loud when I’m trying to study. When you ask them a question interrupting their gossip they have attitude and aren’t friendly. For this reason I guess, they never tell others to be quiet when they’re being loud as well. It’s annoying bc everybody knows the library is a quiet space but when the staff doesn’t even oblige then obviously no one else will. I also don’t like how no snacks are allowed but they make acceptions for few. I was eating carrots one time and was told to put it away but another time I came this girl was eating subway?? Could use more quiet rooms and staff who understand the need for quiet.
It so great to visit the library again. You can take out available media such as DVDs ,books. The staff worked extra hard reorganizing and very spacious. ????????????????
SOME OF THE STAFF ARE RUDE but.......... some staff are nice and give awesome service!! :)
I grew up in this library so, I will always have a soft spot for this branch. It's nice to see it expand so much. Now, I take my kids there. Full circle! I've had some odd customer service experiences but overall, amazing staff! I miss the kids' computer stations, though.
Not as many new device like the linraries
Best library good collection of books in my neighborhood. Highly recommended
City of Brampton invested tax payers money to modernize the library. I have used Brampton Central Library's services for Internet, printing, dvds and other documentary material. The Brampton Central Library is conveniently nestled beside the Bramalea bus terminal and and a swift 100 meter walk to the Bramalea mall. You can check this cultural hub when you have the opportunity.
Welcoming environment, professional approach in dealing with patrons.
Went there to print few documents; wasn’t sure what to do... the Lady at Reception name Marina was observing each and every person with big smile on her face.she helped me through out the process... Very kind lady with beautiful Smile... Great Service ????????????????????????
I love this library after the renovations! It is so modern and "cool" looking. Very open-concept with lots of lighting. I hope the other libraries in the area follow their example.
nice staff , nice selection of books
The white lady in her 40’s working on the main floor today needs to be replaced . She Has so much attitude .
A modern setup. Great resource for patrons.
the place looks really cool after the renovation but I don't really find myself studying here anymore tbh they took out the study rooms and the only rooms that seem okay for studying are usually occupied with programs so like if there's gonna be a better arrangement for some peace and quiet here hmu
All my kids go here to study, work and get books.
Great place
Great place for study and activity , effective way to get rid from idiot box and social Media
Quite and tidy place
Always clean and always friendly staff. My favourite staff member is Sheridan, she always helps me out at the front desk with all my needs. The gym has a lot of good cardio equipment, but I wouldn’t 100% recommend for weight lifting. The track is a really good addition to the gym facility.
Perfect place , vast selection of books available , helpful staff, you have the option of quiet room as well , but gets crowded a little sometime The only thing i dislike the timings on the weekends if they can increase the time to regular on weekends too it would be great
The staff is very professional and the environment is very cozy. I have been coming to this library for over 4 years now and I love studying here. However, ever since they renovated this branch, they have completed eliminated snacks in the library. They only allow covered beverages and expect that we eat our food outside. Which is completely understandable, however the cafe outside also does not allow us to eat our food at their tables.. This only leaves the three benches outside the library to eat our food and sometimes those are also fully occupied. When someone is going to spend 5-6 hours at this library, they should be allowed to eat snacks. Please revise your policy or allow us to use the tables at the Cafe. Thanks.
I always feel like they are inefficient because there are always 4-5 staff members at the counter just hanging out not working. It's nice after the renovation, but they keep reducing the number of parking spaces. They cut the parking spaces by half when they built that bus station. Now they dedicated 3/4 of the remaining parking for staff. This is perhaps why there are very few patrons but always extra staffs. I don't get it. Who is the library for?
Space looks much better even though reno took way too long. But I'm very confused with their very strict no food policy. I was eating crackers and was threatened to be kicked out by the security guard. Before reno, there was never any problem with eating snacks here, especially when they do not smell. The PUBLIC library should be able to provide a welcoming space. If they're worried about damage, it's no different than lending someone a book/dvd for them to bring at home. As a student who spends hours studying here, I need a snack once in a while. It's not like I'm eating a whole meal.
Any time I come to this library always kids crying ???????????????? I think library quite place....! I request please stuff management do something about this problem...! Kids always cry in this loction...!????
i haven't yet been here.. but tomoro i will go hack the network
Nice library. Able to record with their recording studio.
Not much selection
Seating here can be limited even with 2 floors. It's nice though, pretty modern, big open space but if you want to do computer work comfortably your best bet is to bring your own laptop.
very organized has available computers for use and activities are just wonderful
Nice
Great employees!!! Polite and courteous!!!
I enjoy coming here....gradually becoming my second home????. Staff being nice to me too
I love this library, have been coming here since I was in a stroller, but since I've been studying here I have noticed that the librarians seem to not care that this is a library. They tend to talk in a normal voice, which is louder than anything that should be at a library. A little difficult for people who come to the library for quiet studying.
Awesome library, lots of free stuff, including 3D printing. Took 360 picture and created this review while waiting for my 3D printing. They also have free computer lessons, which gave me idea about 3D printing. Plan to later take some certification course here, that they have for free too.
Clean, modern space. Great lightning. Nice and wonderful staff also. I’m not a Brampton resident and I was able to enjoy their facilities as needed. I didn’t need to borrow books as you’ll need a library card for that. The library wasn’t packed as well. All in all it was a great experience
My peaceful place...
Fast internet.
One of my favourite place ♥️
Amazing, like study in quite room .
While it's not in a dedicated (or particularly window-having) building, Chinguacousy is probably one of the more frequented libraries in Brampton, and has a large collection and similarly large set of resources (silent study area, Chromebooks to rent, YA section, etc). It would be great to see the space get upgraded, but the library as it is is a wonderful resource.
Excellent service staff were very helpful.in helping me. Facility is very clean and moderately quiet ????
Fun place to find books. Staff is really nice. Parking is ok.
This is the loudest and most annoying library I've ever been to. AND BY THE WAY little weird high school and middle school couples... NO the library Is NOT a cute place to hangout and makeout.
It took almost 10 months for renovation and they didn't made one good quiet study room. That's sick.. The one they had earlier they now turned it into group study. They made three small study rooms on 2nd floor , every single voice from outside can be heard in those rooms. Have to visit other branches for studying.
Today it's closed by the long thanksgiving weekend.
Great modern facility. Like many libraries, the staff are great and super helpful. My favourite location.
Staff always go out of their boundaries to help you, really love the place
Making Library Card is very simple and easy. It takes only few minutes to become its members. Staff will also help to issuing any book available ????
Great library..they assist with computers which folks clearly need...washroom currently closed and directed to lower level - lower level directed me to upper level.????????????..seriously you can't access a washroom...Security Guard demands I use hand sanitizer..Oops- its empty ..small complaints..
I use to spend hours studying in quit study room before renovation.. No quit study area after renovation .. Don't like this branch anymore
Readers paradise. Alot of space to sit and read. Huge collection of books. But currently they are renovating the place so have shifted to building B on 3rd floor which is relatively very small space then what it used to be. So plan accordingly if you are visiting the place in near future
just to move near Bramalea and went to this library for the first time, its huge and very good collection, staff is very friendly as well
Friendly and helpful staff
Hey hey , I love this place.
1. The one positive about this library is its incredible employees; they’re great hard working people. They do their best with limited infrastructure and lackluster resources. 2. The Library has a very weak academic collection. When doing College & University research assignments this library and the Brampton Library system overall should be avoided. 3. The general quiet study space is insufficient because it's small and full most of the time. 4. There is no independent quiet study rooms in this Brampton's Central Library in comparison to Mississauga Central Library, that has around twelve independent quiet study rooms 5. The WIFI is usually very weak 6. The Library space overall is small for the population center it serves, additionally at peak points seating at tables are inadequate 7. The overall novel collection needs to be improved, at present there are huge gaps. I once looked for a novel that Brampton Library system had no copies of and Mississauga Library System had around copies 25 of. 8. The Brampton Library system overall is inadequate. At 6.5 Libraries it’s only appropriate for a town half the size of Brampton
There were 3 librarians and they were talking and laughing continuously. A good librarian would whisper and not talk much. But those ladies had no etiquette; their voice was so loud. Who hired them?
Friendly staff, never had an issue. I love bringing my kids here. Better use if their time than staying at home watching tv.
It was a good library when it was open
Nice place now that it's fixed up
Well maintained library!
Quite. Helpful staff. Great kids section. Check out machines are fantastic scanning up to 6 books @ once.
I recently became member of this library and the process was quite smooth and straight forward. I loved ambience and this is going to be my go to place!
The supposed Brampton flagship library that closes at 6:00 PM on fridays. Yea right. If this was the flagship that’d be one big joke as Mississauga’s flagship library closes at 9:00 PM.
Too small, too noisy, too crowded. Study stations do not have power plugs. If there are they are located at weird places and be ready to bend down under the table to find one. Library staff has a backroom and all the loud chatter can be heard in the room. Its really annoying. They have strict no food policy on the desk. Restrooms are not on the same floor. If you have no choice then you can visit but otherwise this library is not worth calling a library. If you are looking to study, visit other branches you may be better off.
Great service
The library is located within the civic centre, well connected to public transport (Bramalea transit terminal within 5 minutes walk). It is well equipped with photocopiers, printers, 3D printers, vinyl cutters and a plethora of activities. A good place to sit and read or do printing/photocopying tasks. New audio studio was revealed after the recent renovations. The staff have been nice, courteous and helpful. It gets busier and louder in evenings and weekends though. Overall, it is a great asset for this area! Keep up the good work!
Glad to see security measures for COVID in place.
Modern, clean, more digital resources, friendly staff. Wide open area, nice place
Helpful staff and has an abundance of resources as expect from any library. Although, it could be quite crowded, noisy, and it lacks quiet study areas.
