You have all the opinions of real people who purchased the services of Saddletowne Library (Library) in Alberta (Canada).
Now this business has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 and the score has been calculated on 127 reviews.
You may have noticed that the average score it has is quite high, and it's founded on a very large number of scores, so we may say that the evaluation is very reliable. If many people have bothered to give their feddback when they are satisfied, it works.
As you know, we do not usually stop to write tatings when these are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...

Amazing place to visit
Looks like a lot of people are complaining about "noise" children make in the library. (If adults did this, they're being loud, but if children do it, it's "noise"?) First of all, there's a quiet zone for those who need silence. And that area is quiet for reading. Children have the right to play. Wouldn't we want the next generation to be growing up in the presence of written words? Postivie experiences of reading and being with books and those who read? Wouldn't this encourage young people to read more? Options for safe places for children to play is limited for many families. This is an excellent place for the community to come together and invest in the education and opportunities for the next generation. Thank you Calgary Public Library for how you operate this branch.
Very noisy, lack of seating space and power outlets. You need to be a member to use wifi. They would also benefit from having a coffee shop nearby.
This place is temporary closed. Not sure why they updated the hours on their website but not on google maps.
Great place to study, they provide chromebooks to do your work and a quiet study place. It is really quiet but sometimes children will yell and cry. The library is very big, great selection of books and lots of varieties to.The staff is really helpful and kind. They have multiple seating and it is really comfy. They also provide games for you to play like uno etc.
Nice place for young kids to play. And staff is helpful
World's loudest library, dont come here to study.
(Translated) I found the setting excellent and very welcoming. Lots of courage and good luck. (Original) J'ai trouvé le cadre excellent et très accueillant. Beaucoup de courage et bonne continuation.
Quiet place and Very Helpful staff
I love the quit study room of this library. Staff is very helpful & atmosphere is awesome.
Excellent library with amazing facilities
Awesome!!!!!
CHILDREN MAKE TOO MUCH NOISE NEAR THE STUDY ROOM! AND IT CLOSES TOO EARLY
I never get to use the laptops because kids are always playing games on them or watching shows. Also, there are not enough tables. I visit every other day and when I have to study, all the tables are occupied. The staff is friendly and helpful, but they don't call out out kids or adults for being loud. Libraries are for you to study in a peaceful and calm atmosphere, but everywhere, there's just horseplay or shouting, that's not called out. And why are the Sunday hours less than every other day. Sunday's are when people actually need to come, and the library is only open for 5 hours. The quiet room is so small and I never get to sit in there, when I need to.
hella loud kids. i wish there was a quiet area to study. there were creepy dudes lurking around too. what a mess
Very good place.... good staff n very helpful
Wide selection of things, plus big library.
To be very honest, either they are lying about it being a library or they have an Alein definition of Library. They call it Open concept library but this is Only Open Concept, Not a Damn Library. They feel proud in getting all ages of people in there at the very expense of the main purpose of Library. Every damn person is watching Movies on speaker, calling, screaming and playing. If you complain about Loudness and stupidity going around when you studying, they through a Small cheap Silent room to you face... Now for again, these naives also have Crappy definition of "silent" room. Children come inside and call their Mama Mama, the Door handle of silent room is the loudest of all of whole so-called "Library". Overall. Read all people Comments down here, everyone complains on same thing over and over again but They Honestly do not give a Damn because it makes Majority happy. Its like a Billion dollars hospital that takes care of Relatives of patients, nurses doctors but Do not give Damn about The damn Patient who should be the nucleus of hospital. My suggestion: at least if you want to allow all the nonsense while Practicing True Library Definition then Make several Silent Pods or Rooms or Cubicles and Please add Double glass and Silent door handles on Silent room which do not through Rock Metallica sounds. I request staff to forward my compaint and suggestion to concerned authorities and STOP GIVING LAME EXCUSES, Admit and own this Nonsense and Correct your DEFINITION!!!
Curbside pickup service is so quick and efficient!
Its an okay library. Other libraries in Calgary are for sure better than this. Most of the books that I want to read are always in other libraries and I have to put a hold which then takes forever. Not a place where you can focus because everyone is yelling and talking loudly. Computers/ laptops never available because kids are playing on it. Some people need to do there important work on those devices and they don't get it. Whenever it is busy at the library most of the staff are tired and when answering peoples question or if someone asks them for help they ALWAYS do it with an attitude, like if you are tired take a break. Hours on weekend should increase cause that's when people mostly come. Only good thing is that the printers work!
Great place and the staff were extremely helpful!
good selection of books and good opening time and staff willing to help "sometime" but kids to noisy i could'nt get work done with this problem in mind alot of them being loud yeti get kicked out for having my volume up when there were kids yelling and having there volume loud as well i tried telling the staff but they would'nt listen and even though u try the kids to quite down the staff will be on there side i tried talking to one of the staff but he would not listen no matter what i said either way this library would be better if the staff would do more about the kid problem and would not have to resort to banning you just beacuase you complain about the noise also the staff were rascist they even banned my card when i told them about this and if thats not all i tried telling him about the kids but all he said was to stop esculating the problem I WAS TRYING TO TALK TO HIM my name is mikey dallas wolfleg and i should'nt have to deal with bullying everytime i go to the library this is the 2nd time this has happend (SO CAN I HAVE MY LIBRARY CARD UNBANNED OR AM I GONNA HAVE TO SPEAK TO SOMEONE?!?!?!)
It is very loud in here until the later hours of the evening when a lot of the kids are gone. The owner replying to negative reviews with the same worthless message over and over again is not helping. There is a ton of unused space here, yet very little seating, tables, and I'm not even sure they have desks. Putting the bookshelves closer together and then using that extra space to add desks on the opposite end of the play area (near the exit) would make a huge difference for people actually wanting to study/read. It's more like the place in the mall where moms can watch their kids and rest a bit, so I do recommend it for moms. Bring noise cancelling earphones otherwise. Absolutely not the place if you are looking for somewhere to do solo studying/reading. You are better off sitting at the little metal tables by Jugo Juice for that.
Has a good collection of books and services. The problem is kids are noisy and wild. I understand kids behaviour they are supposed to be noisy. But no one controls the kids in this library. Most of the stuff they do is plain dangerous. Like a lot of times is see them throwing big plastic blocks and other objects at each other or randomly hurling them. I have been hit by these blocks, but I don't really mind. But I'm worried about a small child getting hit.
Good library.
Kids playing video games- noisy!
Very Nice library.. I really love this place.. Librarians are very kind and nice people.. lot of books for kids and also lot of space to sit and read
Wonderful, fabulous, altruistic, and helpful staff! Love it.
If you're looking for a quiet place to study or read, this is not the library for you. There's an open children's play area, and children are inherently noisy; I won't hold that against the children but that's just a poor design choice. People in this library also just sit and have loud conversations on their phones and the quiet environment is not enforced. There are also very few power outlets so don't expect to be able to marathon through any work on your laptop here. I left some stars because it is quite tidy here.
Horrible. Should be a daycare and rec center instead of a library. No way to study here.
The janitors are extremely bossy and the library staff is pretty nice and kind
good place for every age enfants to senior to spend good time
Very big, and quiet place. There are plenty of computers and printers. The sections are very prominent, as I can find books of different genres and authors quiet easily. There is a area for kids under 6 to play with toys. Many famous books of variety.
To be honest books are misplaced n very loud
it is the best when it comes to kindness and space there is good books to read whenever and for children to play
It's so completely packed, that even if you get there 10 minutes before it opens on a Saturday morning, there is an angry mob of rude people that stampede and push each other through the doors to get to the better seats. I went there multiple weekday evenings to get some work done on the laptop but had to leave because there wasn't a single seat left in the entire library.
I hate this library they target kids even though adults are talking loud on the phone and stuff one kid accidentally says YES for winning a game on the computer and they boot him out. I need the staff to stop being so close minded I would give 0 star if I could.
My 2 year old daughter and I went in for the first time in 3 years to this location to sign out books (we also recently moved back to the area). She got super excited because she loves her brother's books and started pulling couple books of the shelf and sat on the floor to read them with me.Momentarily, a rude librarian came up to us, almost yelling at us about the "mess". She kept repeating "this is too much work for us, this is too much work for us!" She ran off to grab a basket and came back marching to my face and took all the books away. I could still hear her say "too much work for us" under her breath as she violently stacked the books and threw them in her basket. She left with all the books my daughter picked off the shelf except for two. My daughter was baffled as she watched this lady take her books away. My poor child stood there in horror, trying to absorb what had just happened. I had two people come up to me afterwards telling me "this was unacceptable" "she was so rude" "you should complain". I did talk to a supervisor afterwards and she agreed that the situation could've been handled in a different way. It has been about a week and I cannot get myself to go back in there with my child.
Beautiful library. Lots of space. Bright lights. There were staff or volunteers walking around asking people if they need help finding books. There was a nice computer room and the child play area was very inviting
Great spacious library with plenty of seating to relax and read
Friendly staff and wide range of books.
really noisy helpful staff not a good library if it is not quite
I think that this library is too messy. Just some feedback; consider adding more marvel comics because aren't any in the library.
Very helpful staff , good collection of books and DVD’s
Best library I ever seen before..keep it up ????????
Great library and wonderful kids areas
Best library in the community....
holds stay in transit forever and things take at least a week to come even when there are no hold on them-- When i go there usually aren't many people there, the staff who usually would be at the door are quite nice, i've never needed help from a staff member so i can't talk about them being unhelpful. I used to go before covid and it was definitely quite noisy from kids but recently it's been pretty quiet
Perfect for studying Great books
Decent-sized library and overall very well maintained and clean. Study spaces/tables (especially for multiple people or groups) limited. During busy times it's possible not to be able to find a seat.
Great place for children and for adults. Lots of learning opportunities.
It's clean and staff is very helpful
I often come here to do some work. It's a great place, although sometimes it can be quite loud on the weekdays. Overall, it's quite a nice place.
The library itself is pretty good but the students that come there (I'm assuming) are a complete distraction for everyone there. They are loud and don't have respect for people who are trying to work.
Its a great place to study. I studied for my P. Eng. and PMP here. Now I am studying FE Mechanical.
Great atmosphere and great people
Staff isn't helpful..when little kids ask questions they think were not good enough to be answered
This is an awsome library. They have every Canadian law book you could imagine. Also im into the neurology text books, awsome selection of everything I read.
Great
Very nice place to chill
It's so completely packed, that even if you get there 10 minutes before it opens on a Saturday morning, there is an angry mob of rude people that stampede and push each other through the doors to get to the better seats. I went there multiple weekday evenings to get some work done on the laptop but had to leave because there wasn't a single seat left in the entire library.
I love going there!
Good nice place, wish there was a wider selection of manga though.
Very nice library to go to. Staff are friendly and helpful. Clean and quite.
The staff is excellent! They go out of there way to help you.
Its very nice and positive place for study. But there should be a separate area for kids play usually lots of noises distract students. Library should be a quiet place …
Two stars for no social distancing inside the library. Kids(mostly high schoolers from next door) sitting around in clusters with no masks. What’s the use of insisting on masks at the entrance if it’s not enforced inside? At least it’s quieter now because of the pandemic.
Staff is helpful. Except this one day I heard a librarian openly complain that kids are making too much mess etc. I only remember it because she was loud. Note to the lady: That's what kids do.
Worse place if you looking to use computer even for few minutes most of the time kids are playing games.I had paper stuck in the printer and needed help with scan there was no staff i could find to help me.I understand library is for everyone but had a one guy using computer could not login may be his time was out when i asked him" Are you using it ?" he said yes actually he was not using it at all he was just sitting .At that time i needed computer most. Some people just never wanna leave that place.
The quiet room should be bigger, it is a good place to read. Also a coffee shop nearby or inside the center would be great!
Definitely staff are helpful but Omg. Really really disappointed couldn’t get my work done. Twice my visit couldn’t get to use computers. Kids playing games on computers and quite noisy library.
I have always love this place. I basically grew up here doing homework, playing games, and just chilling. Yes occasionally there are some idiots here and there, but overall the area is respectful.
Excellent study space here
The staff at saddletowne are wonderful and so helpful.
awesome staff.
I'm from out of town and my computer broke when I was visiting Calgary. This library was very friendly and helpful. Got me set up in a computer so I could finish my project and print it off. Very clean and well organized
Two ladies one from India very helpful and cheerful the other one blond hair big woman was just measurable. Made impresson like I am an enemy and bother her by asking questions.
Amazing environment
Small but has a lot if books to offer. Not a good place to study though; yelling kids can be heard all the time and people are really noisy, and the worst thing about it is that the staff don't do anything about it!
One of the best libraries Calgary had to offer. It is huge with ample seating place and a separate quiet room. Children cry and shout but the quiet room is silent.
It's not a library. Rather a zoo. Management really needs to put their foot down and explain library rules to people so reading a book is not a painful experience.
Opening on Friday is 10:00 - 20:00
A very nice place for young kids because of the nice design of the kids area, and there are quite a number of toys & books there. But the area also seems a bit messy to me.
Very helpful staff
Nice clean library. Lots of new books!
Always loud and noisy, majority of computer stations are occupied by kids playing games. You won’t find any place to sit either.
Has a large kids area that can be used as space as a working area. This is meant to be a library not a play area for kids.
Library staff are very rude and unhelpful, asked them for help but they refused to help and replied arrogantly, I feel like its racism because I am a black woman and they are all white. I will never come to this place again
This is a beautiful library - always clean and welcoming. The staff is amazing as well considering how busy they usually get. You can easily spend the day here. It’s a plus that there’s a huge parking lot and a Jugo Juice on site.
Awesome ambience for study!
