Whenever I come here, I feel it's not a library I've stepped into, but a daycare with all these kids running around making tons of noise and hogging the computers to play games. The staff's always nice, but they really have to do better when it comes to noise control and computer access.

A Beautiful Library that provides a Great work environment with many books and resources, However, It can extremely noisy, and most of the librarians, including the Manager can be very rude, refusing to ask anybody to quiet down. I've recorded the Decibel range to fall between 85-150 at times, and the librarians argue that it's a "public space" so they refuse to do anything. However, some of the librarians can be extremely kind and they know how to do their job! I recommend these few individuals are promoted.

A good Library.

Service was great ,I felt respect and received assistance .thank you JPLibrary

Edmonton Public libraries provide access to great resources. This branch has knowledgeable helpful staff. Holds always come in quickly and they have a good selection of books on site as well.

It's finals season, and so my boyfriend and I visited this location today in hopes of finding a quiet spot to study. Unfortunately, every table and reading nook was occupied, so we made to leave. On the way out I remembered that I had a book to return. I stopped to retrieve the book from my bag at the return kiosk. At this point I hear the desk clerk warn a patron to "grab his bag because things go missing from here," as she makes eye contact with me. I look around, realizing someone had left their backpack on the return counter while he consulted the desk clerk. As the return kiosk accepted my borrowed book I hear the same desk clerk. She's clarifying that "by missing she meant that things get stolen from here all the time," nodding in the direction of my boyfriend. As I walked out the doors it dawned on me that the clerk was insinuating and I would take this guys bag. I mention this to my boyfriend and he confirms that she was watching us through the whole interaction. My boyfriend was pretty angered and it made me feel a little slimy I probably won't return to this location, but to be honest it's kind of a mad house and it won't be sorely missed.

This is a really good library. I always go here to check out books or study. I wish they had more desks because there's usually a lot of people who go here to do work. Overall, it's a relaxed place to go to. The staff are nice and there's plenty of different types of books. They also have programs that people can participate in and socialize with others.

I have problems Every time I go to this library. Whether its taking out a book, booking a computer, using the printer. It doesn't matter, things I thought I was allowed to do, for instance. I booked time online for a computer, came in was working on resumes and job searches. My time was almost up so I went to the desk to ask for more booking time (so I wouldnt be kicked off. especially since nothing saves once you log off) they told me to use the extended time at the end of my booked time, I explained what i was doing to which they told me, they cant give me any more time, and that I need to use the extended booking time and if im kicked off then im kicked off it's the same for everyone. I can't save what I'm working on. if I'm working on a document I can't switch it to another computer. At every library I have asked for more booking time if I tell them the reason and it is for professional or important reasons they usually give me the time depending on the reason. That's One example. and it's starting to get more frequent to Every Time Im In Here. On top of that, there is Zero reception. If I'm waiting for an important call. I don't get it. It feels and looks like you're inside a cave. I'm overall displeased with this location. Ascetically and internally.

Great local library with WiFi and music and plenty of books.

Pretty big space. Built in similar exquisite architectural design like all other EPL across the city.

The environment is just right to read, and study. Also with your EPL card you can enjoy one hour of internet. If you are learning English you are in the righ place as well.

This place is very nice new building. Computers and quiet rooms upstairs for studying.

Better since the renovation.

Great place to study

Small intimate library

Very peaceful atmosphere. This is my "go to place" whenever I want to focus on my studies. All I have to do is find an empty chair and table. After that I'm all set.

One of the better libraries in the city. Not too busy, not too noisy, but it's a bit small. Interesting architecture and just the right amount of natural light. A good place to study or work. Bring headphones if you need 100% concentration, but its a nice comfortable public atmosphere with a little bit of background noise. I think I like this library for working more than studying. This library in particular has minimal sound dampening so you can definitely hear conversations across the library. Some reviews mention that it's too noisy and I would agree depending on the time. Fridays during the daytime are nice and quiet.

Such a beautiful spacious building! People can chat without being to distracting to other readers, the upstairs level is awesome to just hang out in.

People should know that library staff were very courteous, very patient and understanding. Very helpful and kind. Any question I had was answered nicely. This is the ideal library. Ideal location and will definitely be coming back for more books. In terms of size however, it does feel smaller than other epl locations but they can get you anything you need from every other location anyway. Give two good thumbs up for this epl location.

It's a library, a Fun & informative place.

Great location. Most tables have a lower supply, and the staff are beyond helpful.

Lots of computers I go there everyday it's the best library ever good place to study, hangout,go on computers

VERY quiet they also have lots of activities for children and tweens. There is even a room called the "study room" that is quiet and very nice!

We love the library. A great public service!

Beautiful concrete ceiling

It's a public library, what's not to love?

Great place to top up my Tesla.

Newly renovated, looks awesome, lots of activities for kids.

very rude staff, they give me dirty looks & say rude things under their breath. if you're an extrovert and like to talk to people then you'll like them, but if you're an introvert like me who WANTS to be left alone then they'll think you're weird.

It's nice and quiet. Limited access and limited staff available but you can easily pick up items that you pre-order online.

Just printed the CRA forms and my certificate for post secondary. It was a 20 minute visit

A very helpful lady 's name is Anna Maria very nice and kind and a good customer service at jasper place library , thanks Anna Maria.

When I picture a library I think of reading and studying, and for any person to do that they would need quiet, right? So when I went to this library to study, I expected quiet. Unfortunately I was very disappointed, this “library” was equivalent to a zoo. There’s people screaming and talking way too loud. Like yes this is a public space, but correct me if I’m wrong, a library is also supposed to be a quiet space. I thought I would be able to talk to the staff, but yet again, very disappointed. She tells me it’s a public space and she can’t do anything about it, REALLY?! You can’t do your job?? I can’t even hear myself think. It is the WORST library I have ever experienced, I do not recommend wasting your time in this place.

Literally the best library I have ever gone to but they need new chairs downstairs, the once close to the children play area those are uncomfortable and hard to study on there.

The staff are so rude and not helpful, won’t go there again.

Organization is very well

Great local library. The staff are extremely helpful to all walks of life. The EPL offers so many great services to our city that we love to utilize.

Everyone should visit here

Good

Very nice, clean and organised environment, well it is a library after all. Anyway they have pleasant staff always ready to help. Also they have lots of virtual activities and competitions to keep the little ones occupied all summer.

Staff was very bully like towards my kids. I was very unimpressed. I was upstairs with them looking at movies. They were playing semi quiet with some sort of empty display. When suddenly we were surrounded by THREE woman. Not addressing me but to my 6yr old and 2yr old. Giving them trouble about breaking the empty display. Which I might add they did NOT break. They played maybe not even a minute with the dam thing. The staff did not leave. They just stood there until I had no choice but to take them out. We felt very unwelcome. Basically ganged up on and kicked out for no apparent reason. Most definitely unfair to my children to be bullied by the staff for being children. Who where only waiting for me to find something to check out. They did nothing wrong. Needless to say your staff were very terrible individuals.

Every people in this library is talking most of the time. Not sure if this is library.

it is so qiute and so relaxing

Sitting on the patio in the shade reading a book is an excellent way to while away an afternoon.

I needed a dictionary as i was studying for a law exam and one of the lades really helped me above and beyond. There was no English to English dictionary at this location to the lady i spoke to found this dictionary in another branch as put a hold for me. Very helpful and really happy with the service. Highly recommended.

Had to leave a star to add my review..... My boyfriend and I visited this library so I could return a book I previously borrowed. The Librarian at the front desk asked a gentleman to keep an eye on his bag, then while making eye contact with me (as I returned my book.... on time) says that they have had previous thefts in an accusing tone (obviously meant to suggest that I may steal the man's things... to add perspective my boyfriend had out two backpacks and I had our two coffees) I am a university student that was trying to fond a good place to study. Obviously I will not be returning though I sincerely hope EPL will take action and implement a program that stops this UNACCEPTABLE behavior from their staff. I was in no way unpresentable to the public and there was nothing about our actions that could have remotely suggested theft .

Very good equipped library. Happy to visit it .

Just stopped by to pick up some books on hold. Limiting my time inside the library as per recommendations from the medical department.

It’s a good place to study, very nice and the staff are very helpful And clean! One concern is,some teens sitting on the couch can be too loud when people on the desks are studying for exams.I hope they know that this is a place to study and read not to hangout like you’re in a mall.Be considerate to the people who are here to have a quiet and peaceful time they need for them to focus. Other than that, great library!
