These folks stick around because of service, great advice, and huge selection. I've known Marty who is now a sales manager for 6 years plus and he exemplifies dedication to customer service. In this day and age it's really hard to get honest advice about appliances. We've had a KitchenAid electric range for 4 years now, solid and problem free from Trail. It may cost a bit more than economy brands,, but quality can mean alot in saved time dealing with multiple repair jobs. Trail is highly recommended from our household

Over the years we have not hot positive experiences at Trail Appliances. We went to check out a cook-top in their showroom intending to make the purchase elsewhere. Jen met us and was very friendly, knowledgeable, and informative. We shopped around and came back to Trail Jen was off, but Karan assisted us. We bought the cook-top, a microwave range hood, and a refrigerator. We think they are hiring better staff. Six months later we found our review was premature. We have had issues with the Samsung cooktop and months later there is no resolution. Promises are made and not kept.

We recently purchased six appliances at Trail Appliance Langford, for our new build home. We were unsure what we wanted but Karan Parekh (sales associate) was knowledgeable, patient and honest with us and walked us through my selection. We were some time out from the home being ready but Karan stayed with the ordering and holding of the goods until all was ready and they were delivered perfectly on time! We could not have been more pleased! There were a few anxious moments when one appliance didn’t fit and Karan was again up to the challenge and came through for us! Shout out to Trail appliances in Langford, Keith Stevens, for helping us to find the perfect commercial gas range stove and getting it shipped to us in only a week. We ran into a last minute problem during the installation when Pacific Fireplaces were here installing the gas line and stove for us. An adapter was missing and Keith Stevens had it sourced a and delivered to Sidney within 30 minutes to save the day.

Proceed with caution! There are other reviews that detail the exact same scenario and run around. Really disappointed with the customer service we received while purchasing from Trail. We recently moved into a new build and decided to upgrade our stove to a gas range with Trail. The gas range was delivered by Trail and was unfortunately, dead on arrival. When we tried to solve the issue with Trail they said this was not their issue and after many frustrating phone calls, being put on hold and generally given the run around, we were told to call the manufacturer and pursue getting this fixed under the manufacturer warranty. This resulted in me having to follow up with the manufacturer (in the USA) and then organize a technician to come look at stove with no help or assistance from Trail. The technician confirmed that the stove was defective and now our only option is to wait for a new part via the manufacturer which will take 3+weeks. Really baffled by the poor level of customer service, ownership and general lack of accountability from Trail despite providing us a broken stove. Confused why Trail made this our problem to get fixed and have gaslighted us through this entire issue. I don’t think it’s a lot to ask from an appliance store to expect appliances that work upon delivery. If you are stuck buying from them, good luck! You better pray there are no issues because much like we have learned — you are on your own!

He placed us with quality appliances that fit our budget and design tastes. Eric has a wonderful sense of humour and was very patient and thorough. We never felt rushed or unimportant. I purchased a big order of appliances from Trail Appliances in Richmond for a new house build in Victoria that has taken several years to complete. The people at Trail have been super helpful and their selection can't be beat. Everything came through the local Trail office and they let us pick up individual things we needed in advance from Victoria. They accommodated allof my requests, made changes to my order for me after getting the original appliances in stock, and just seem to care about customer service. I really appreciate that. We purchased a Zephyr hood fan back in January, and it started malfunctioning in February. I got in touch with Trail immediately and still (in September) have not achieved any results. Our family went in to buy a new oven, and John had provided us with honest up-front knowledge and experience with buying something that would suit our family's needs. Bought a $1200 Viking microwave and it was defective out of the box. Trail just gives you the manufacturer contact info and you have to call to get everything resolved. I wanted a new microwave - I think that if something is defective out of the box, it should be replaced - but had to settle with getting it repaired. Will not shop at Trail again - they provided zero value.

The delivery was a dream - very respectful and timely. The installers even helped us with a solution to a drain problem we have due to the design of the pipes in our condo. I highly recommend Trail!

We purchased a brand new refrigerator and dishwasher for our new kitchen. Trail offered to store items until we were ready as our reno wasn't quite finished. After 3 months we had Trail deliver. Once installed we noticed a scrape in one of the drawers under the packing tape and a dent in the door. Manufacturer won't cover because there is only a 7 day grace period. One of the service reps offered us a discount. We didn't hear back so we called and found that the rep was no longer employed. New rep looked into the matter and hasn't offered us anything. Sorry Trail we won't be back. We have been loyal customers from the past and now feel that you'll be happy if we go elsewhere next time.

I would give Trail a 0 start rating if I could. We bought a washer/dryer tower from them THREE MONTHS AGO, and immediately as we did our first couple loads of laundry the machine proved to not work. Constant error message popping up. We contacted Trail to let them know (1 week after) and they told us there was nothing they could do about it other then call LG to get a repair. After 100 phone calls, LG was not going to help. Trail then reached out after a review that they were not happy with (ours) to say that they could correct the issues.... TWO MONTHS later we are still in contact trying to get our replacement, we spent 3k on this machine and need a working washer and dryer. We were told we would then get our replacement in a week. However, now we are being told it will not be delivered till February. We requested a REFUND because we were going to take our business elsewhere, and they let us know they WOULD NOT be able to issue a refund until they got the machine back and that will be in February. We are now approaching four months with no machine, having to go to the Laundry Mat for the past four weeks, and can not buy another machine until we get our refund. We are now waiting for our replacement from them, because we have no other option until we get this machine out of our house. Their customer service is terrible, and we have continuously been told that we will get a new machine, to continue to be told that they keep forwarding it.. TERRIBLE SERVICE. Beware that this is the way you will get treated from this place. Go to Best Buy or Canada Appliance Store because they are able to deliver and install within 3 days.

My Gypsy Tale

I wanted to share my brief yet efficient experience at Trail. I had to find a dishwasher for a company house same day. Hitting a few locations they all had to order a dishwasher, it could take up to 10 days. I came over and was greeted by Reade Smith in sales. I let him know my budget and that I needed a dishwasher same day. He was able to find a dishwasher. There was only one remaining. Reade was able to give me a discount to meet my budget. He recognized I was in a hurry and managed to get it all done quickly. I hit 4 locations before going to trail. Will make sure to make Trail my first stop on the next purchase.

While we were happy for the assistance and advice from John, we eventually bought our cooktop elsewhere. The installer (recommended by Trail) said there was a small chance it would not fit. Trail first offered a 25-30% restocking fee and then changed to say it was non-refundable. We found a competitor willing to match Trail’s sale price, and offering to take it back with no fee if it didn’t fit. We would have liked to give John the sale but didn’t feel comfortable assuming all the risk. (it’s installed now - fits great!)

Overall I am happy with the appliances I bought (fridge and new washer and dryer). I would not say I had the most positive experience. The sales associate I worked with was helpful in the beginning but once I had made the commitment they became short and hard to get a hold of. The customer service dropped significantly. Then with delivery as I was getting a new fridge I had to put all of my food in coolers they said they would call 30 minutes ahead of their arrival. They did not call, they just showed up and were annoyed I asked them to wait so I could take the food out of my fridge. They also marked up and dented the walls when moving my new appliances in. Would I shop at Trail again - I think I would definitely look at other retailers first as the experience was initially positive but went downhill quickly once my financial commitment was made. I’m not sure if the sales associates work on commission but it definitely felt like they did.

Our sales rep was Reade Smith, and he was extremely polite and knowledgeable in helping us select our fridge, range, dishwasher, and range vent. Before the delivery day, I changed my mind about the range, opting for six burners instead of four. Reade not only exchanged the range for me, but found one for me on sale a full $1000 less then the ticket price. Delivery was on time and professionally carried out.

Buying appliances is great. Getting them repaired is another thing. We have a Bosch dishwasher purchased 10 months ago. Made a service call to Trail on May 29. Did not hear anything on June 1 and called Trail again. At this point I was told they don't do any repairs if appliance is under warranty. Fair enough. They game me the Bosch #. I phoned them and it was in America somewhere. They received the repair order and farmed it out to a Bosch repairman in Victoria but gave him the wrong phone number for my contact so I was lucky enough to make a call and he was more than helpful but he had been given the wrong phone number by Bosch. My complaint is you are left out in the dark about the chain of events before your appliance is repaired. We have taken out a 4 year extended warranty on our appliances which kicks in after 1 year. Let's hope we just deal with Trail as that is what they say - no middleman involved.

Stay far away from Trail Appliances.. We built a brand new home and ordered just about $15,000 worth of appliances from here. The sales experience was great however everything else after that was a total nightmare. The issues started once the delivery driver pulled into our driveway. It should have been a red flag when he started talking about how it was his first day delivering appliances and already hurt himself earlier by dropping a heavy stove. Needless to say 3 of our appliances were damaged.. Our hood fan, Refrigerator and our beverage fridge. The run around we got to get these items replaced was INSANE.. It has been just over a month and we are still working with trail to get our hood fan replaced. They stated that we couldn't install the hood fan until the new one came in (which wasn't possible as its a gas range and we needed the hood fan for occupancy) they then tell us that we can't use the hood fan till the new one arrives (which is on back order so could be weeks) Communication was poor and horrible. They basically let us know they will do everything they can to make this difficult for us. We have a gas range so for us not to be able to use the hood fan is just ignorant on their part to let the fumes linger in our home. To top it off the delivery guy broke our condensate pan to the fridge which leaked water everywhere and damaged our brand new hardwood flooring. Do you think trail even apologized or tried to get us a replacement unit? Absolutely not. We have gotten calls stating they never broke it and made me call the manufacture to have someone come out to inspect the damage just to say indeed it was broken on delivery. They had the nerve to get someone to contact us and state they are not taking responsibility and were on our own for the damage to our floor and fridge. With the amount of money and time wasted here you think they would have a little bit better customer service. Me and my husband asked to speak to a manger more than once, do you think we ever got a call? No. Because we were in the builders division there is no one available to assist us. I can assure you I will be letting everyone and anyone know not to buy here.

Purchased a Maytag fridge, stove and dishwasher from them. The fridge was roughly $2000 and on some of the corners of the outside of the unit it has insulation leaking out. Clearly visible and not appealing. Emailed and asked about it. Was ignored for 2 weeks until I asked about it a second time. Was told that this was a normal thing and to deal with it. So it seems like it happens frequently. Didn't expect this from them. Wont go back and will not recommend to anyone. Quite unfortunate. 27 Jun 2018, was called by a repair company but was told that they couldnt make an apointment for me because the time frame I gave them was to far away (I asked them to come look at it at the end of Jul when I had time off work). Still not fixed as of now and everyone that comes through my house I point this out to them and tell them where we bought it)

Outstanding team at this branch! We'd like to thank Eric Reiter, sales consultant, for his effort in convincing us to give Trail another chance. We unfortunately had a bad experience a few weeks earlier with a sales rep who did not respond to our requests for product information. We started dealing with another company and were literally a drive away from signing the deal. We happened to be in the area and needed to look at a specific appliance and Trail was close by, so we went in and happened to be greeted by Eric. He essentially changed out mind and we decided to give Trail another shot at the deal. Mark Pickering, the store manager, basically closed the deal and he has stood by his word on every single item we negotiated. We also want to give Sara Garcia, in product support a call out. She was exceptional! Sara (and Eric) followed up on a specific piece of ceiling ventilation equipment that we needed sooner than later. They managed to make the delivery happen for us and handled the situation very professionally. Finally the delivery team - Paul and Eric. These guys are exceptional! Courteous, prompt and very experienced in moving heavy appliances. We couldn't be happier with the final result and highly recommend this branch to anyone looking to make a major purchase with their appliances. Thank you!

First, our Product Expert: Karan was exceptional. He spent hours over many visits while we contemplated higher-end and then middle-of-the-road laundry machines. He patiently waited for us to finally make up our minds and actually purchase a washer and dryer. After Sales: Once the order was in the delivery queue, we changed the date twice ! No problem, everything was accommodated promptly and professionally. Delivery and Set Up: The three man crew arrived in the time window promised (I know, odd eh ?). This team was obviously well trained, and had the stacking unit installed nicely in a very short time. Each guy on the team was courteous, conscientious and very careful in all of the movements of the heavy appliances into the house, and taking the old ones out. My strong recommendation after this experience is to carefully consider not only the price of units you are planning to purchase, but also think about the rest of the service package involved in that purchase. Trail Appliances Victoria, and in particular, Karan ( fine gentleman) is very much our go-to retailer in the future.

The staff were helpful when we went to purchase appliances there BUT complete lack of assistance with 2 questions I had about my new appliances once they were paid for and installed. I went back to the location to ask 2 questions. My Marvel 2 zone wine fridge was not cooling to the set temperature and I wondered if I had done something wrong in programming it or if the fridge was not working. Secondly, 2 panels on the doors of my Fisher & Paykel fridge keep coming loose and I wondered if there was a better way to keep them in place. I did not even get past the front door when I told the "greeter" I had questions about my products. I guess I should have said I was there to PURCHASE something. I was told I would need to book an appointment with 2 different service technicians...1 for the wine fridge and one for the fridge. Not one salesperson would come talk to me. The greeter spoke to the manager but he would not come speak to me either. I was told the sales people and the manager don't know about these things as they are not service technicians. Apparently, they are very good at printing and reading product feature sheets when you are purchasing appliances. It appears they know nothing about how they work and are incapable of answering questions if the slightest problem exists. I was told to read the owners manual to figure it out as that is all they would be able to do as well. We had excellent service when purchasing Miele appliances from Trail Appliances in Calgary but apparently all locations are not the same. An extremely disappointing experience given the amount of money we have spent at Trail in the last 4 years.

We initially went to Trail because, after looking online, they seemed to have the widest selection of 24” laundry sets in the area. They took great care in removing our old washer and dryer, and in bringing in our new set. They discovered one of our taps was leaking so couldn’t hook up the new laundry set for us, but left the machines on cardboard so we could easily push them into place, and gave us tips for sliding them in and hooking them up after our plumber fixed the tap. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience with Trail!

My husband and I are retired, and we just moved into a 5th wheel RV. Among the things we added to the RV, was a washing machine. To accomplish that, we visited our favorite Product Expert, Shaylene Goretski, at Trail Appliances, Victoria, BC. She was able to quickly get together a collection of information on all the washers and dryers, and the new all-in-one washer-dryers that would work well for our needs. After a relaxed and very informative meeting with this gracious lady, we went home feeling confident that we had gone to the right place; and the printed information from Shaylene made our appliance choice easy. And how did Shaylene become our favorite Product Expert? I am disabled; and about 2 or 3 years ago, my condition worsened to where I began falling forward unexpectedly, many times a day. Cooking at my stove with controls on the back, became very dangerous. For safety, I needed a stove with controls in front of it. I also could no longer bend to use our chest style fridge freezer. I needed an appliance with double doors, and a vertical freezer on one side, and a fridge on the other side, but with no ice maker, thereby allowing for optimum storage space. We went to two large appliance showrooms and received no service at all. That was not new to us, because there are people who, even in this day, behave as if disabled people are invisible. Trail Appliances was the third place that we visited. I was feeling disheartened from our first two experiences. What a huge surprise we had when Shaylene greeted us warmly, and did an extensive computer-search for a fridge that matched our requirements! She treated me with compassion and took us on a tour through the showroom to look at Trail’s large array of stoves. I love cooking, and thanks to Shaylene’s enthusiastic approach, we bought a stove with all the ‘bells and whistles’ that a person could think of. The dials are across the front, and the oven can be divided into a small oven and a mid-size oven (which can be used at the same time), and it could also convert to a full-size oven. That stove became the most used appliance in our former home. Now, that’s the way to win over a customer!! Shaylene’s beautiful way of dealing with us brought us back to Trail Appliances for our recent purchase. Thanks a million Shaylene! We hope to see you again the next time around.

Worst customer service. I've been waiting for a stove to be delivered for a month. I got a damaged product which I didn't accept then waited for another. Trail said they would give 2 hours notice for delivery. They called saying 15 minutes and I wS at work. These guys are terrible to deal with.

Had another great experience at Trail Victoria recently when looking for a Convection Steam Oven. We were professionally greeted by a sales person shortly after arriving, and efficiently helped through the selection process. We compared the price with other stores and Trail's price was competitive as well. The oven we chose was not stocked here, but did arrive in time for a family event. The delivery crew was on time, polite and careful with our floors and walls. Now that it's installed, we are very happy with our purchase and the overall great service we received at Trail.

Greasy practices on clearance items: We popped in yesterday as we needed a new over-the-range microwave. After looking at a nice model in the showroom, we found one in the Clearance section in an open box, and were excited to save a little money (as we have a baby on the way). The salesman then let us know that he 'recommends buying new, as open box items are often returned by contractors with missing parts.' He then said the only reason he'd 'knock fifty bucks off the price so that we could buy replacement parts if we need them.' He further pointed out that clearance items were a "final sale," and that we had to inspect the unit ourselves before buying. What kind of company doesn't stand behind the products they sell? Why not require all returns to have all parts included and counted, instead of trying to screw over the next customer? Why would Trail not check the box themselves to guarantee a working appliance? We wanted to support a Canadian company, but ended up going next door to Home Depot (who carried the same brand and model of microwave) and getting a price match instead. They even beat Trail's price by 10%. I guess in the end, both sides are happy. We got a new microwave for a great price, with great service, and a no-hassle return policy, while Trail got to keep their mystery box (which may or may not include an actual working microwave.) Good call, guys.

In June my partner and I embarked on a major project to gut and rebuild our 50’s home. As our kitchen appliances were over 3 decades old they needed replacing. Being out of the market for so long, we asked our friends for advice on where to shop and what to look for, then we researched on the internet and read the consumer reports. For a few weeks, we combed the flyers and prepared a list of what we were looking for before visiting each of the 3 major appliance outlets in town before deciding on Trail Appliances. (No, Home Depot didn’t make our shortlist!) After we had a brief look around the store, a young sales rep named Brandon Dolan offered his assistance. Brandon was great to deal with. He listened attentively to our needs and wants BEFORE offering his suggestions. His insightful knowledge and candid feedback of the various products was very helpful and delivered without pressuring sales-tactics. Although we had walked in wanting white appliances, we quickly realized that in order to get better selection, we needed to look at stainless steel options. Brandon steered us away from the lesser-quality models and pointed out some lower-priced machines that would do the job for us. Once we made our decisions, he explained the terms of sale, and reviewed the details and cost of each item. He didn’t push the extended warranty plan but suggested it was worthwhile for just the fridge and stove. We prepaid the order and Trail Appliances agreed to hold the appliances for us until we were ready for delivery. In the meantime, if any of our selections went on sale, we were given the lower price. We changed our mind on the make and model of fridge we chose and it was no problem to make the switch. And later when we saw that same fridge for less money elsewhere, Brandon/Trail was able to beat the competitor’s price. Whenever we phoned, Brandon was prompt in responding. Trail ended up holding our appliances for over 8 months before delivering on the date we requested! We have been very pleased with the service we received from Brandon and the team at Trail Appliances. We purchased new appliances from Trail Victoria a couple of years ago. We had a number of issues with our range. After a considerable amount of time having attempted repairs made three times and difficulty with the extended warranty company, the folks at Trail took it upon themselves to give us a refund for the purchase price of the range and negotiated on a new range, requiring us to only have to pay for the difference in price. Originally the service was great, and staff was very helpful. they got it installed and took away our old appliance. Once they left it has been a nightmare. The machine does not work properly and the dryer has an error code. We got the vents cleaned to be sure that the issue isn't on our end and the unit is still is not working. We reached out to trail and they gave us a new number to call and they tell us to call a new number, and has been on-going. They cannot get anyone to take a look at it until the new year, but we have had the machine for over a month and do not wish to wait any longer. We shouldn't have to take our laundry else where to get it done. When you spend good money on a product you expect for it to work, and when it doesn't you expect at the very least decent service. Which is not the case. We have been ignored and told that we will have to pay for repair even tho we have purchased the warranty. Poor service. Poor product. We want our money back and want to go else where.

Two years after buying a very high end range and range hood, I ran into trouble with the LED lights on the range hood. The lightbulbs were not covered under warranty, and none of the local parts supply shops were able to source the parts. After a couple of calls to Trail, they tracked down the contact for the company and had them call me directly. They were able to supply all the parts, and even allowed me to use the repair company I had already hired. I am very happy with Trail and recommend them.

We are filing a Small Claims court action against Trail Appliances and Samsung Canada. We will be demanding a complete refund in order to purchase another range from another appliance dealer. The Samsung induction range is model no. NE58H9970WS purchased from Trail Appliances, Langford, B.C.. It has proved unreliable in several ways however when the glass top cracked spontaneously on July 8,2021 while under the 5 yr warranty for manufacturer's defects we contacted Trail and the Samsung service centre which appears to be located overseas. We were given an email address and name to contact to take our claim to the next level. There are a great number of online complaints about spontaneous cracking of the glass top on this model. Nearly two months have passed. No service technician was sent to verify. We have received no acknowledgement of our email and no response. Unable to use the range. We have been ignored at every level, i.e. total ghosting. When we purchased the range the sales person at Trail assured us that they would help us with any potential claim. This has not happened. We are on our own. There are so many complaints about the cracking of the glass top that it seems to be a case worthy of a class action suit.
