I have never seen such a poor services from any bank. The customer service is so poor they never really help the customer - I have had so many issues but they never really helped with anything. Hope I could give 0 stars.

I’ve banked with Scotia for 10 years and been treated like absolute garbage every step of the way. No more. They clearly don’t care about retaining customers either. Today I visited a branch to close my account for good and nobody batted an eyelid. I even wondered out loud that maybe someone might ask me why I was leaving and was met with a cold, businesslike manner and sarcasm from the teller. Good riddance.

If I could give Scotiabank 0 stars I would. I have had nothing but problems with them. They're holds are ridiculous and the managers are useless. Don't get an account here, they hold cheques through the teller and they're hours suck. Worst banking experience I've ever had. Go literally anywhere else.

I went to this branch today at 9:45am; May 31, 2021 to use the bank machine. It was absolutely disgusting in the vestibule. The bank was open so no one had bothered to go in there to clean it up from the weekend. Dirty masks etc. When I walked out I told the security guard that he needs to go in to the bank and speak to someone about how disgusting it was. There is absolutely no excuse for that kind of filth. I bank with Tangerine and can only use Bank of Nova Scotia bank machines. It was appalling and someone should be fired for that.

Have been very helpful. the only thing I dont like is all the charges for using your debit card . Canadians do the most banking online and pay through debit more tham other countries so they should maybe stop billing for every little thing. I hate being nickel and dimed for every little thing, some things should be free.

It's a Scotiabank, there's really no review needed here the staff inside are great, generally helpful and nice, but it's a for profit bank don't expect anything but fee gouging and useless calls about insurance you don't need.

This place is amazing people say the atms are always closed but that’s because homeless decide to get in there and sleep so they have to lock it early and the staff is great they always wana help the people who say the staff is bad are the people who are bullying the staff and then cause the staff to be rude back (I’ve seen the happen many times at the bank ) the place itself is great

Waste of time... Very little information like other banks would have given. I have a secured visa through Vancity Bank and was going to apply for a second secured visa here as a credit advisor told me it is a good way to help build credit. I advised the person I wanted to build my credit and she kept asking why I had chosen Scotia so I said I would like to build into a scene visa eventually but my overall goal right now is to build my credit. She went on to tell me she can't give me a secured visa, she can pull my credit check but it can damage my credit; which I get yes. Then she went on to trying to sign me up for a bank account, which would be pointless as my goal is to build my credit. I asked why I would be denied for a secured credit card when I am paying for it, her response, "oh because." I stared at her for a few moments and chuckled because that says nothing and I figured she was going to explain that empty statement! Lol she then back it up with, "because you would be from the credit check." .........? Well yes I get that, but why would that matter when I am paying for it. (Still learning, I understand now after visiting different bank who seemed more knowledgeable about the services offered, the reason I can be denied) Overall, my experience was unknowledgable, pointless, worst service I have ever recieved from a bank. I am a full-time student and don't have time to be rushing around for pointless appointments.

Went in filled with skepticism after reading the on-line reviews- I made my banking business and was assisted by Officer ID: 586 - forgot to take his name. He made a fantastic job, made me feel an appreciated customer and solved promptly what was asked for. A very positive experience.

Open early at 9:30 am!! The vintage bank building is undergoing some much needed renovations right now (Feb. 2022), but is still open. Mask mandent in place with a security guard at the doo. Always friendly and helpful staff there at Scotiabank.

Tried to locate banking hours on line. What has happened to logic, why not have it listed no line, rather than have to call and give banking information, what a ridiculous system,,,,,no common sense.

I wish I could give them 0 star. I trird 5 times to open an account with them, at the end i was not successful. They always say they are bussy.I booked 5 appointments to open an account but then they end up reschedule it again, the bank was completely empty of customers.

I usually do all my bank related tasks online, unless absolutely necessary. One of those occasions is my yearly visit for getting bulk change (yep we still live in the world where laundry is coin operated); I'm not too sure but I think it was actually the same person who helped me out this time as well, five stars for him (can't speak for everyone given the grim reviews). Very patiently he verified my card and rendered the amount. I get that it's their job, but still...I feel I need to spell it out given it's my second time doing the same boring business and yet, receiving great customer service

DO NOT GET A CREDIT CARD HERE!!! Such an unnecessary process to apply for a credit card. When I made an appointment I was told I just need my most recent pay stubs, I was then asked to provide 3 more of my paystubs to verify my employment, and then went even further and asked for a letter from my employer. I have never been asked to do this at other institutions. To make everything worse my advisor didn’t even know how to enter in my ID to apply for the credit card, I promptly cancelled my application, I will go to another bank that knows how to do their job correctly.

If you like being called and harassed on a daily basis to sign up for insurance and other services, sign up with Scotia! The hours of operations are quite poor as well.
