What an amazing trip we had. As we were collecting sea glass with our youngsters, a local dropped by, handed over her haul to the kids and told us the tiny pieces were called "Mermaid Tears" - lovely. We had a wonder week in Souris and got a kick out of the beautiful Bald Eagle who perched in the same place each day.

Its really pretty and you can enjoy a ice cream while walking on the beach . The ice cream stand is small but has lots of flavors to choose from. It's as greet rest stop to get out and stretch your legs because its located right along the highway....

Nice beach for being so close to a town centre. Shops are nearby where kayaks can be rented and ice cream/lobster can be bought. However, don't make this a destination for a long trip - there are better beaches all over the place.

The picturesque view from the stand is breathtakingly tranquilizer. The gateway to Souris city forces any passersby to at least stop at this spot. By the highway, it might be a bit unsuitable for people asking for a peaceful noise free environment. The sunset ???? view is the incident i liked most about this place.

Still the best beach in Canada. Lifeguards posted first the swimmers jumping off the channel walls and the bridge. One of Canada's best local traditions. Free parking, lots of shopping kiosks, food, clean bathrooms, - no showers as of this writing (Summer of 2021). All good!!

I had the most delicious lobster roll at the Lobster Shack. I was disappointed that they were unable to honor the "Food Island" tourism promotion card, but they said it should be up and running in five to ten business days. Today is July 16.

We waited more than an hour to have our order (4 hotdog 1 fries). Plan your lunch! (Original) C'est la plus belle plage où nous sommes allés à l' i-p-e. Nous avons adoré, le sable est blanc, la plage est propre, l'eau est clair. Le seul bémol c'est le casse-croûte sur place ... Nous avons attendu plus d'une heure pour avoir notre commande ( 4 hotdog 1 frite ). Prévoyez votre lunch !

This is a nice beach..fairly popular stopping place as it's just off the road. I was there at low tide and could walk out quite far on the Sandbars. You can watch the ferry leaving for the Iles de la Madeleine from there.

A good adventure along the way. Difficult finding glass as displayed in the little Shop on the board walk. Highly recommend wearing something on your feet as there is a lot of sharp pieces of glass.

This is a small beach in comparison to others in PEI, and generally not for swimming. We went there to look for 'sea glass'. We did find some good pieces, but there's A LOT of regular glass pieces, small stones and weeds on this beach. Wearing footwear is a good idea. I can see why people rave about this spot for sea glass. The tide seems to bring a lot of stuff in there. The water is pretty dirty and debris filled. Not a good swimming/sun bathing beach. You're essentially only going there to find sea glass. There is a store there that will make jewelry of the sea glass you find, or you can purchase premade sea glass jewelry. There's also a little diner with free WiFi.

This park could be missed as it is just outside of Souris. When the tides go out it is for a nice to walk out, some folks will even try their hand at clam digging. You can enjoy a walk along the sand and or is it the little shops along the boardwalk. Even put your order in for some fresh Lobster

If sea glass is your thing..this beach has it all. It seems to be endless to walk but it provided such entertainment for our children without worry of losing them. They were always within sight and parking was more than adequate. There were a few food options and bathrooms on site. A great day well spent.

Beautiful views! There is a splash pad and little playground for kids. This isn't a beach with alot of sand to sit out in. More of tide pools for kids to play in and wet sand. I didn't see any type of ramp to the beach either. There is also lots of signs about glass and metal garbage as this was once a dump site. Nice stop with older kids.
