Just starting to prepare a meal, large pot pre-heating on stove, I am unexpectedly called to answer the door bell. Returning to the kitchen mere minutes later I find the pot is red hot. As I lift it off the burner the stainless steel bottom delaminates and the molten aluminum core, as liquid as water, pours out. Wearing short pants, the molten aluminum thankfully misses my bare legs and feet, to splatter on the countertop and floor. Instantly a myriad of fires are ignited in the vinyl floor. The room quickly fills with smoke so dense it is hard to see fires I am trying to extinguish. The smoke is acrid and I am distracted by the loud blare of our adjacent hard-wired, smoke alarm. At the time, to us it seems a disaster. ABK Restoration Services, Ron Plamondon, ABK Project Manager, and Sabrina Van Haarlem, Assistant Project Manager (as well as Brittney Kneller) are soon in contact. They promptly schedule numerous trades people; carpenters, electrician, plumber. These trades people are all friendly, professional, and fastidious in preparing for floor and counter top installation, while protecting our home from adverse renovation impacts by installing floor protection and dust barrier. Arising from this accident our initial fears have turned to gratitude. For their terrific work we would like to thank in particular: Ron Plamondon, Sabrina Van Haarlem, as well as the numerous ABK sub-trades.

Stutters, Disaster Kleenup, Total Restoration, and Okanagan Restoration. That is 4 companies you should have your insurance agent call before these clowns. 11 months my friend had these guys in and out of her house because of a water leak on the main floor. It would have been better if it had been every day but there were gaps of weeks without anyone showing up. I wound up calling on her behalf and into their offices personally. Each time given another ETA that was not met. Try any of the others first.

If your restoration is a small one, " mine $27K" Do not use ABK as your are not worthy to them. My ABK contractor was brutal. He only came by once and at my request. The contractors quote to my Insurance company took 5 weeks for them to receive. I had to follow up with the Tradesmen through out the job, which by the way were great, both Kitchen and Flooring. It took 6 months too complete my reno which the contactor on day one said 6-8 weeks.

Thank you ABK! James and the Team did an exceptional job of handling insurance claim. James was our shining star and made our lives so much easier by arranging everything; from talking to the insurance adjuster/s, the flooring company, by scheduling it all and ensuing our paintings and furniture were all back in place. The office staff are all warm, welcoming and reply almost immediately to phone calls or email. A special thank you to Chris for the great job on finishing the painting/touch-ups. We highly recommend ABK!
