We stayed in this place for 4 days the past Christmas and it was a good experience. Although there was not much to do during the Christmas season because most businesses were closed, we still enjoyed our holiday with family and friends. The place was clean. The host (Karen) wasn't home but she had a friendly housekeeper named Elizabeth and she was really helpful. Karen's son Alex is a part-time fire fighter/emergency responder who does the construction work during the summer. If you call ahead, he might be able to take you to the woods showing you the traditional way of how indigenous make a living out of the land. That's right, he'll walk you to the trail, prepare the rabbit snares, show you the plants and features on the land. You might come back with a rabbit for dinner if you're lucky! The winter up north is cold. But the winter of 2017 here in Moosonee is not much colder for Torontonians. After a bitter -40 C cold snap, they won't feel much worse in a -45 C day :-)
