I am very disappointed with this outfit. After dropping off a home stereo system for diagnosis of a "no sound" issue followed by a request to fix the blown centre channel (which I've had fixed once before) I was given back my system without repair. They cited that it would cost too much to repair. This unfortunately took them ten months to conclude. It was poor communication during that time and I had to initiate most calls of inquiry. I can't speak to their abilities to repair appliances but I will certainly be hesitant to recommend them for stereo repairs. The worst part was the lack of customer service with my circumstances.

I had giddens install a new ice maker in my fridge freezer. The ice maker didn't work after install. I called to have someone come fix it, they said no one was available and I would have to make an appointment for a week away. So the day of the appointment came and no one showed up. I called giddens and they said they have the message about the problem with the ice maker but they never scheduled the appointment. I asked if they could send someone up to fix it right away as I had taken time off work to be home for the appointment, but she said the first availability was in 5 days and if a cancellation comes up they would try to slot me in. It seems to me that a good business practice would be to fix issues like this right away.

I have used Giddens for so many things over the years but the last time I needed them right before the Christmas party I was hosting on a Friday, they came over with the proper parts I had identified and not only did major troubleshooting on one of these complicated new KitchenAid fridges, but they followed up a few days later to ensure it worked. The technician, who happened to be a co-owner, got my ice-maker up and running that day and for a very fair and reasonable price. Happy to recommend them. I remembered to write this review now that I need them because my washing machine overflowed now. Thanks to the Giddens staff.

Technician very bad educated... during the phone call after he informed that TV can't be fixed, interrupted me any time when I was trying to ask something... at the end, he just a hang-up call... after that when I call second time, the owner of company apologized for his behaivor, saying that he doesn't know what was reason worker become frustrated... Strongly recommended to don't lose time (and money)... we wait for diagnostic 7 days... after seven days they told us that should be changed just one led stip, and that it will be fixed on Monday... on Monday technician called saying that problem is bigger and that it can't be fixed and that they can send tv to recycling...

Despite them being very patient with me when I wasn't able to come in and pay the bill right away, which was very, very much appreciated as I was dealing with a death in the family, I have to say I am extremely disappointed with my experience dealing with them as far as billing costs. The estimate total changed 3 separate times during the time in which the tv was picked up and brought in, and the day they called to let me know the tv was ready. My bill ended up being upwards of $1,500. - $400 more than I had been initially quoted, and by the end $100 more than I had been quoted about 2 days before that. This was, according to Giddens, because the price of the part went up while they were waiting for me to pay the bill. I will say that the men picking up the tv were very good, and very careful with the tv. I have had good experiences in the past with them, but will not be a returning customer, as the whole convoluted price issue left me wondering if I had been taken advantage of a bit.

I've only ever brought two items here for repair over a period of a few years. Both were subwoofers, 6-8 years old, worth close to $1000 each. I was told in both cases that they could not repair them. They kept the $50 I was told was for an estimate. I received no estimate, only a statement of their inability. I'm sure there are better places to go for audio repairs. I will surely never go here again.

Have dealt with Giddens in the past and was pleased with the service. Howevet, I called recently to have the dishwasher looked at only to find out they only work on them at the shop. I was not prepared to remove and transport a dishwasher. Seems like an odd request to have the customer being in the appliance

Unfortunately we have had to bring a number of appliances in here for repair - microwave, bar fridge, and a washing machine. Apparently they don't make appliances the way they used to. They charge a fee to estimate the repair, but you get it off the total if you decide to go ahead with it. Service times can be a bit slow at times, but only because they are super busy what with all the shoddy appliances out there. Repaired items are still going strong - better than new! We'll be back :)

Our discontinued Leviton Light Controller died leaving our main floor without any lighting. Giddens took on the task of disassembling the circuit boards, finding the issue and replacing some failed capacitors. We had the unit back quickly and the cost of repair saved us over $1000 va purchasing a used unit. This was not my first trip to Giddens, they've always served me well. Excellent electronics repair shop.

They have repaired a few appliances for me over the years. The tech Eddie is a great guy. Very personable. My on complaint is sometimes it takes awhile for them to be able to send a tech. Almost two weeks wait for my last warranty service.

Called to the clinic to fix a door issue with the washer. Ended up fixing the door in 15 minutes. Billed over three hundred dollars!!! 145 dollar call out fee!! Ridiculous. Said it was because of the drive into Kamloops from Valleyview. Total ripoff. I would not call these people to fix anything ever again.

We had an issue with a Samsung fridge that we bought at City Furniture in Kamloops BC.Water was leaking from under the fridge onto our new hardwood floors intermittently,very stressful as we would leave the house not knowing if there would be a flood or not when we got home from work.Being under warranty we were told there was nothing the manufacturer could do as it was intermittent.Dave from Giddens Services was tenacious at figuring out the issue which turned out to be a sticking water valve in the ice maker.As a business owner for 30 years I highly recommend this business for any appliance repairs.Dave is amazing.

My husband called Giddens Services regarding having a new element shipped up to us for our less than three year old Samsung stove, which, unfortunately had caught on fire. No help from Sears, by the way, because the warranty expired 10 days earlier. Thanks for that! The service we received from Giddens was outstanding! Very polite, knowledgeable, and expedient. Have been to my house in the country numerous times to service/rebuild a lemon of a washer that is new. Took care of warranty issues when GE wouldn't help me. Very professional. They wear booties over their shoes so as not to dirty the floor. Would definitely recommend them.

Availability of parts required to be ordered in most cases is good, a service call for appliance repair is very poor at almost 4 weeks out, which just doesn't cut it is you have a fridge that isn't working.

I recently had my LG TV in for repairs, as it stopped working eight months after purchasing it from Costco. Costco directed me to LG customer service who then quickly got me in touch with Giddens Service. They quickly picked up my TV from my home and repaired it the following week. Peter did amazing work! thank you very much Peter and the whole team that was involved in fixing my TV.

Our fridge was not working and this company was recommended by friends at Sun Peaks. The representative (Dave) was polite and helpful. He set up an appointment to arrive to make the repair and was there exactly as arranged. He brought some parts with him and this prevented having to make another return visit from Kamloops. The repair was made and the cost was, in my opinion, reasonable for the travel time and work performed. I would definitely call them again should the need arise.

Totally useless. They claim to repair subzero fridges. The repairman came and said the fridge was too old, no longer could get parts, refrigerant also unavailable any longer. Advised to buy a new fridge. Well ALL the parts were available in Vancouver. Just had the refrigerant changed. Fridge working fine now. And all that useless advice cost me $155. gave one star only because wouldn't post with no stars

First of all, this one star is not for the technician. He was excellent. We met him 2 times. I refer to the pricing of the Company. We are 60km away of Kamloops. We called to arrange repairs for our commercial washer (not draining water) and dryer (not hot enough). Giddens charges a $150 "service call" for the first unit (said it was $95 diagnosis plus $55 out-service) and $59 diagnosis for the second unit. I don't mind to pay out-service but I still need to wait 5 days for their routing here. 60km is just 35 mins drive, but it may take more or less same time if in the lower mainland for 10km given the traffic condition. Of course more gas consumption. If there are several orders here in this area, it's quite good just for the out-service charge. For diagnosis fee, I remember it was $50 last year (bring into store). Inflation is acceptable, but how come it becomes $95 now. Does it make a difference for diagnostic fee for bring-in and out-service? The second is "discounted" $59, really? It is better to understand thoroughly the service fee to avoid some surprises.

I had a tv from Walmart and it quit turning on. Then I kept it for about a year then brought it to Giddens. Walmart wouldnt take it. It was still under Warranty. I got the piece fixed and it barely costed anything. Awesome job.
