I was searching for a place to do my laundry as I have been driving to London to do it at my parents house. This place has the best reviews so my boyfriend and I decided to try it out. The best service I have ever received! The owner was extremely helpful and very kind. She helped us organize everything and showed us how to save a few extra dollars. Everything is very clean and well taken care of. I am actually excited to go back and do laundry there again soon!

Great place to do laundry! The owners really care about this place. They are often there when I am doing laundry and have given me helpful tips for doing my laundry better. I have never had to wait to use machines, and the machines are rarely out of order. Prices aren't bad either, dryers are 25¢/5min. and it usually won't take me more than half an hour to dry large loads. Washers range from $3/load, up to I think $7/load, prices being based on the size of machine. Thank you for providing a great place to get my laundry done!

The double load machine stopped during my wash, leaving my clothes soaking wet and unrinsed. I called the number provided on the wall and was told it was my fault and I would have to put my clothes in a bigger machine, as it was because I had overloaded the machine. I hadn't overloaded the machine. The owner would not refund my $4 and insisted it wasn't their fault that their machine stopped in the middle of the wash. It is too bad because I enjoyed using that laundromat, now I don't.

Used to like this laundromat until a couple of weeks ago. I dropped my laundry into three machines and left to tend to an errand close by. Because I had been going to this laundromat for a couple of years, I was pretty familiar with how long it took for the cycles to run in the machines. I returned to discover all three loads of laundry had been removed by the owner and thrown in a pile in one of the baskets with a note telling me that other clients needed the machines, lecturing m ine about not returning on time. Interestingly I was less than 10 minutes after my clothes were done their cycle in the dryers and they were still warm to the touch... but now wrinkled because of being removed and thrown into the basket. There were only two ladies in the place at the time and when I looked around, theirs were the only machines being used and 90% of the machines were empty. They informed me that the owner had been in the laundromat complaining about a list of things and it had actually made them feel a little uncomfortable. Regardless, felt that this was unnecessary and a little over the top and vowed to never return.

Best laundromat in the city by far. Tried several others in Guelph but Golden Coin has been my go to ever since I found it. Facility and machines are very clean and well maintained, never had an issue. Family owned and when the owners are in during the day, they are so pleasant and helpful. Reasonably priced, quiet, comfortable, and clean. Definitely has a friendly, neighborhood feel.

PROS: Friendly staff and helpful. Location is clean and taken care of. Wash and fold good and reasonable price. Good wash temperatures and top loaders available. Tables provided for folding. CONS: January 2019. There is no washroom available if staff are not there. Lighting has been removed and insufficient lighting replaced to reduce costs. They should have more LED lighting. Currently not enough provided by IES standards. Location is cold during the winter months, bring a sweater or coat . Washers do not fill all the way anymore. Water is hot when required. Wish there was music provided.

When we moved to Guelph we tried around 4-5 different laundromats, and this one by far is the best. No issues with clothing being damaged or unclean. The machines clean your clothing really well, the dryers are so fast and just rock. The owners are very nice and super friendly, and it is well maintained. Yes it may look like an old place because of the building, but do not let that fool you. It is the best place in Guelph.

First time using a laundromat in Guelph. Pretty straightforward machines. Machines were clean and prices seem fair for the time saved (there's 6 triple load, 7 double load, 9 working top load, 1 mega and 19 working dryers). Went on a Tuesday afternoon and was the only one there, which was a bonus. Will definitely return.

I've been doing laundry here for six years. It has all the charm of a movie laundromat with none of the shady stuff you might expect. Staff is helpful. Facilities are clean. Change machine works wonderfully. They could probably get a better vending machine for pop but that's just me. You don't need to bring your own supplies because they have a vending machine for that too. Oh and try to use the big industrial looking stainless steel dryers on the left. They are the best in my experience.

Taking my clothes to a laundromat was a new experience for me as I always had them in my house. But when I moved to a basement apartment in south end of Guelph I needed to find a good laundromat. I tried out 2 places prior to Golden Coin. I wouldn’t take my clothes anywhere else. The owner is super friendly and is always willing to give a hand or answer any questions you may have. Her husband works around the clock to make sure every machine is in working order. Don’t listen to all the haters, trust me, feels like family here!

If you want the be left alone to do your laundry this isn't the place for you. There's nothing wrong with the laundromat; the machines are clean and there's a variety of washer sizes. However the woman working there kept telling me what to do and how to use the machine both times I went during the day. I know how to do laundry and if I need help I'll ask. When I've went closer to closing there was no one else there which was better. I'm just here to do my laundry in peace. Nothing against the woman, she seems very nice, just not my preference of service.

The lady that works there just needs a little bit of patience and if you are going to the laundromat make sure you have enough money for a back up load at least. I have been going to this laundromat weekly for over two years - I actually moved to an apartment with laundry and I still go here instead. The owners are so lovely and very helpful, the facilities are always clean and safe, and the variety, availability, and efficiency of the machines are great. Really unimpressed with the service here. The woman that works during the day treated me very poorly, assuming I didn't know how to do laundry. Even told me I needed to be "babysat". At first I thought she was joking but then I took some linens to wash and left to go to an appointment. When I returned even though the place was EMPTY I found my items in a plastic bag. She told me it had filled up and she needed to take them out. When I apologized and explained I had an appointment she said I shouldn't leave it so long (I was gone for a grand total of 75 minutes 45 of which the items were actually being washed) as it was bad for "business". Well I'm sorry but treating your paying customers poorly is bad for business and I will NOT be back.

We HIGHLY RECOMMEND this establishment!! This is the second time we have used this laundromat for a massive clean up project. We did 7 loads in the Big washers and 8 loads in the dryers. I am partially disabled and the owner willingly and enthusiastically helped me through the entire process. The cost was a bargain at a little more than $60.00. I tried to get her to take a tip but she adamantly refused saying it was part of the service! A very delightful and charming lady!!

By far the cleanest laundromat I have ever been too, with the nicest owner. It was my fiance and my's first time coming in and the owner have us a dollar off of our first loads of laundry on the washer, which was already at a nice price to begin with. The lady that owns the place is incredibly helpful, friendly, fun and funny. A very bright attitude that surely can't go unnoticed. I would very much recommend coming in, even if you have a washer and drier at home. It's worth it.

I was there again today and as always, the tables, counters, machines are spotless and although the floor is older it too is spotless. Machines available are from single load to multi load and work to perfection. The proprietor is very friendly and helpful. Today I experienced something very unpleasant at this laundromat. My dryer had broke and I had wet laundry needing drying. I knew I needed to go to a laundromat, so I took my two boys in the car (single mom) and drove to the closest one, which was Golden Coin. When I arrived, there was absolutely no one inside, no machines running. Thought I was pretty lucky. My boys and I put the clothes in the dryers and then were getting change, when a woman entered. I said hello and said how quiet it was. She commented it hadn't been earlier. She noticed my empty bags and asked if I had washed the clothes there. I said no, that my dryer had broke. She then pointed to a sign in the laundromat and said that they had a rule that if the clothes weren't washed there, you couldn't use the dryer. I said that I was sorry, that I didn't know that. I then commented that there was no one there, and that I'd like to dry my clothes and if needed, would wash them and dry them there next time. I asked her if she could make an exception to the rule this time. She said that she'd have to check with her boss. She then got on the phone, (was speaking mandarin I believe) and said very aggressively "My boss says no!" I then asked if she could tell him/her that there was no one there, so they'd only be making money and that I was in a real bind". She then said "You must respect the rules. You don't respect the rules! You must leave!" As I was taking my laundry out of the dryer to leave, she then looked at my 13 and 8 year-olds at the change machine and angrily told them to stop using it. I told her to not speak to my kids and that we were leaving. She then removed her face mask and started yelling at me, saying that I was wrong in speaking to her as I did in front of my children. (It was at this point that I felt perhaps she wasn't very unstable.) I told her that she had no compassion and was very unkind... that she was tossing me out when there was no reason to given there were zero customers. Next, the owner (I think) came in and belittled me as well. Next, the staff member told me to "hurry up and get out!" I told her I was going as fast as I could and that she could take the clothes out too if she likes to help hurry me along. She then said, and I have this recorded "I would like to throw your clothes at you!" I told her to go ahead and that I would call the police if she did. Then a customer came in and both the staff member and the owner went to her and started talking about what was happening, saying bad things about me and "She broke the rule! She broke the rule!" During this whole time, my 8 year old was quivering and about to cry. I had to repeatedly tell him that 'it was okay' as I was hurriedly trying to leave. I am an ex-teacher and now a school principal. I completely understand rules and why they are important. However, given the situation today, this laundromat had a few choices, on either extreme: to allow me to dry my clothes given my situation and pay them $20 with zero customers or to point to a sign, yell at me and admonish me in front of my children. They chose the latter. I went literally a few blocks down the street and dried my laundry elsewhere, where there is no such rule and the gentleman working there was very kind. In these challenging times of COVID-19, where humanity and kindness is so very important, I hope if you read this you will not reward this laundromat with your business as they exhibit the opposite of these qualities. Thank you.

Owner told me to go somewhere else because I wasn't there right away to move my clothes out of the washer to the dryer and that the owner had to move my clothes out of there. Can she move my clothes like that without my consent? I don't go to a laundry mat to get lectured. Not happy!

I do laundry on Sundays and our dryer broke so I took my wet laundry into this laundromat to use the dryers and I was quickly told I'm not allowed to use the dryers unless I use the washers (and she pointed to a sign on the wall). Lots of dryers were available at the time and I wasn't about to re-wash my clothes so I left and went to the laundromat on Norfolk to dry my clothes. I've previously used the double load washers at this place to wash my comforters/heavy bedding but I'll refrain from going to this laundromat in future and pick the one on Norfolk instead.

I just moved to guelph and my house will not be ready until November and therefore needed to find a laundry mat that I could use while living at a hotel. I found this one from all the amazing reviews, and they do not lie! This laundromat is clean, and the machines do such a great job. It's not too expensive. But the best part of this place is the owner. She will give you a customer service experience you usually can't find. She helped me to know what machine to use, explains anything you need and just all around friendly and helpful. Everyone who walks through the doors, she gets to know, and welcomes with a smile. I have been going too this laundromat for almost three years now. It is excellent. The owners are so kind and will always offer advice too help you get the best out of their machines. In the summer the owners would come around with ice cold water bottles and a friendly smile. The place is very clean, lots of available machines at 4 different sizes, and the prices are good. Even during COVID their doors would be open and they did their best to provide a safe environment for everyone.
