You have the opinions of people who buy the products of Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland (Laundry) in Ferryland territory (Canada).
To this day the firm gets a score of 4.3 stars over 5 and that score has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see it reaches an opinions average is quite positive, and it's based on a large number of scores, so we can say that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to evaluate when they've done well with the service, is that it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place tatings when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
this room has a spectacular view of the city. truly awe-inspiring. we drove 1,500km and back to spend one night there and it was worth every km. this was to be the finale of our honeymoon, but it has become the crown jewel. we both agree …
Good hotel in a convenient part of town. Friendly staff (this is Newfoundland, after all) and good food and reasonable drinks at the bar. I would stay again.
Housekeeping and bell service staff are very friendly, front desk staff isn't the most welcoming. The tv remote in my room wasn't working and when I called for maintenance as my bathroom's vent didn't seem to work they sent someone up who didn't bother entering the washroom and said "it does work, it just has low suction power" before leaving. The restaurant's breakfast and fish and chips are delicious but quite pricey. Overall for the price I paid, I wouldnt recommend this hotel.
This hotel was alright. The beds and pillows were not the most comfortable, the rooms were definitely clean and looked nice. The food at the restaurant was pretty good but expensive. They offer lattes on their menu but their espresso machine has apparently been broken for six months. None of the vending machines worked properly. This hotel has the potential to be amazing, but I feel like it's really not living up to the Sheraton name.
Location
The room was average,. We had to report a problem with the hot water in the bathroom, it was fixed. The room wasn’t cleaned before we got it. The on demand movies didn’t work, we reported it and it was never fixed. For our troubles we were …
I stay at this hotel often. I find the staff to be the best at any hotel that I have stayed at. …
No hot water in the evenings for a shower despite paying good money for each night...poor service all around. Room was decent with an exceptional view of the harbour.
When 1 of the staff realized a bunch of people had to get to an upper floor, she offered a service elevator to accommodate some of us. That was nice! #SciFiOnTheRock
Stayed at the Sheraton in St. John's during last year's Canada Day festivities and this hotel offers an incredible perspective and experiences for your stay in St. John's. Although they already have one of the best views in town from their property, they actively look to partner with local operators (like Iceberg Quest) to provide perspectives from the water as well. Whether your view is of the harbour or the city, you're bound to catch a nice view of town from here - a recommended spot for sure!
This hotel is in a great location and most of the staff treat you with respect. Generally we stay at least 12 - 15 nights per year at this hotel. However on our most recent stay we were amazed at the attitude your check in person displayed …
I just spent a wonderful weekend in this hotel. My room was clean and comfortable, my friend who was with me wanted to take the bed home! The staff were warm and friendly and the food was incredible both in the restaurant and in the banquet …
We regularly use the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland for a great location for a getaway weekend or even a date night. Great spot and rooms with great service. So close to downtown, sightseeing, restaurants, nightlife, historical and modern activities all in one.
This hotel is exquisite! The restaurant in the lobby is so amazing! Hotel lobby always has coffee or water that you can enjoy and can found just by the elevator. If you will just walk down the moment you exit the hotel you will see all idyllic colorful houses. It is very close to the port, just 15- 20 mins walk to signal hill and coffee shop with great coffee just across the hotel, and if you feel like drinking there are tons of pubs near the hotel. You wouldn't miss to buy any souvenirs as there is a souvenir shop with great products close to the hotel. There is a grocery store just few walks away from the hotel too!
Overall I was very disappointed with the quality of service in all areas. The valet was wonderful, apart from that the check-in and dining services were unacceptable. No recognition for Gold member status, or even being an SPG member in …
This hotel is ideally situated for visiting historical sights and walking in nature as well as in the old city centre. The staff were all, without exception, exceptionally helpful and friendly. They were particularly kind to our large dog. …
Staff are fantastic! Inside Pool is dated but still big enough for many people ! Rooms were comfortable but needed a better cleaning !
I look foward and like to stay at this hotel. The people are very professional and friendly. Unfortunately, this time round I was unable to secure a King bed even though I had requested one. In other words, the staff did not meet my needs …
Greetings: As usual we enjoyed staying at your property which is doubtless the best location in St John's. …
In our ten day stay in our city, we split the vacation between three hotels and we both likes the Sheraton the most. The quality of the bedding was amazing and the room was super clean. I would opt to get the harbour view for your room as it is worth it.
Great location with nice views, but the property is poorly managed and very dated. Poor at recognizing status and seem to give our room upgrades or nicer views randomly rather than prioritizing by status. I’ve checked in as a Platinum or Titanium and been given a parking lot view while lower status members checking in at the same time have been given Harbour view rooms. This needs to change, no excuses. Start recognizing status properly or top tier customers will go elsewhere. The Delta is much better in this regard. Staff are often friendly but haphazard and poorly trained. General sense of poor leadership throughout. Parking is overpriced for the city. Many of the rooms have 1 Queen bed, which is uncompetitive and dated when the standard is 1 King.
Had a very nice stay. Restaurants were excellent.
Only 2 of 3 elevators working, leading to long waits on a VERY busy weekend. Also jets for whirlpool broken. Décor seemed a bit "tired" compared to our stay 2 years ago. Not enough parking; Bivver server untrained in wine serving. Pool was …
Signed up for the "Green" option, but then everything seemed to get neglected in the room, would not select this again. Room was average at best. Bar is amazing, good food. The Concierge was Excellent, very helpful, funny as were most staff. For the money spent it was not worth the room though.
I was in St. John's on business for 5 days recently and I was always impressed with the level of friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. I found that they were genuinely interested in making my stay comfortable. …
This was the first time I had stayed at this hotel in a VERY long time. I will definitely be back again! The place was clean, staff friendly and helpful, and the room was great! Parking can sometimes be a bit challenging but it does compare to parking at some of the other hotels in the city.
Disappointing all around. They ruined a good steak by cooking it to leather when asked for medium rare. Food was lukewarm. All the hallmarks of a restaurant that used to be good, but is very likely being run over the phone by a chef who hasn't seen the inside of that kitchen in years. Very sad, I can see what it probably used to be and I'm sorry I missed it.
I enjoyed all the amenities this hotel had to offer! It’s wonderful when there’s on site dining, fitness and a pool. It’s situated perfectly atop a hill and close to the downtown streets of St. John’s. Only issue we had was with a front desk staff who was rather rude.
One of the nicer large hotels in St John's with awesome views (depending on your room). Make sure you get a room that has been renovated.
Staff very friendly ,very efficient and quickly resolve any problems that arose. Cannot comment on ding restaurant closed due to Covid.
Waiting an hour to check in was a major waste of time. The cost of the buffet breakfast was astronomical and the food was cold. Ripoff! I wouldn't have complained but since you asked, here it is. I was willing to write it off as a bad experience and lesson learned. I won't be back.
What a fantastic place with some of the friendliest most helpful staff I have ever had the privilege of interacting with! Having found ourselves in Newfoundland due to an emergency on our flight we were put up in the Sheraton overnight, as you can imagine checking in over 200 people at 01:00 is not an easy task and yet the staff were friendly and answering any questions we had, whilst waiting to get checked in they provided tea, coffee and juice to help make things more comfortable. The room we were given was spacious and comfortable and we got our heads down for a few hours sleep. Went down to reception to see about updates on our flight to be met with again enthusiastic staff who could not do more to get us information and upon finding out our luggage would not be released from the plane they provided deodorant, toothbrushes and other toiletries! Thanks to the staff at the Sheraton our travel woes were made more comfortable and I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone staying in St. John's.
Myself and my partner stayed one night as a romantic getaway, our first one in over eight months! Our stay at the Sheraton was wonderful, a seamless check in with very friendly staff and a modern extremely clean room with gorgeous views of the city!! Loved your hotel!
We stayed at the Sheraton on our last day in St. John's. We hadn't made a reservation but there was no problem getting a room. As an SPG member, we were upgraded to a corner room which gave us a great view of the city and up to Signal Hill. …
The front desk staff were very helpful in getting us to a room which we enjoyed. Next time we will ask for a room on a high floor, with the large windows, on the wing that is closer to Signal Hill, at the end closest to Signal Hill so we …
Great Staff. Nice rooms. Beautiful views!
We recently stayed at the Sheraton hotel in St. John’s NL. The Roos were very clean and the staff were very friendly.
Pet friendly policy makes it easy to get away for a weekend. Front desk staff Imelda and Tamara are the sweetest. Great stays always at this hotel.
1.) Upon arrival at 4:30am, two empoyees were present; one was assisting a guest and the other ignored me standing in the middle of the lobby. She sat behind her 'conceirge' desk and did not even acknowledge my presence. When I finally …
Check in attendant was very rude and did not provide me any guidance as to locations of amenities within hotel. Advised me I’d be getting my king room I booked. Went to room it was a double bed. Fought with me saying she didn’t say king and …
Great staff , great location. Would definitely recommend
This is my first time staying at this hotel and I will look forward to staying there in the future. I wasn't thrilled with my check in, I did not feel that I had the full attention …
Spent New Years at the Sheraton and had an amazing stay. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Food was delicious, and room was clean and comfortable. When we stay at the Sheraton we always feel like we are going home!
Great people are really what make this hotel special. They really make the stay a wonderful thing. We were there for 6 nights and loved every minute of it. The gym is really good as well! Special thanks to Raymond, Morris and Fabian for their service and friendship.
I love this hotel. The scent of the pool, the softness of the beds and sheets, everything about it is amazing. The hotel staff treat you like kings and queens and overall it is my favorite hotel experience.
The people here in Newfoundland are awesome and very nice. This reflects on the service here at Sheraton St. John's positively. The best quality of this hotel is its people; from reservations, front desk, to the lounge attendant. The hotel is clean and very quiet although it was busy at the time we stayed there.
The hotel was excellent. I went to the club lounge on the first night and have never before been to a club lounge that served mussels! Superb! Service good and attentive, room spacious and bed extremely comfortable. …
Exceptionally well treated by the reception desk and my management. The location and the view from the room were perfect.
Always a favorite place for brunch. The food is always fantastic and the staff are always friendly and wonderful. Brunch was slightly different this year given the hotel is under renovation. This is part of our annual Christmas traditions.
To start on a positive note, the Roasted chicken is the only meal that was good and satisfying. I will give kudos where it’s due. The steak seemed small for the price not to mention there was a lot of fat. The lobster rolls are made with scrambled eggs... I have NEVER experienced this anywhere in Atlantic Canada. In my opinion and that of my colleagues, this NEEDS to be reconciled. Chicken Wings were decent, though, they would be better if they came already covered in a sauce of choice. The crispy chicken sandwich with coleslaw and pickle was a little salty. Would be better spicy chicken, or something more neutral with mayo as the base sauce. Overall suggestion is that they tweak or rework the menu.
Suggest club floor breakfast be served for longer as arriving after midnight it's nice to be able to sleep in. Also, what is the strong smell in the Club floor lounge? I informed several people but never resolved. …
I recently stayed at the Sheraton St. John's and had a very nice experience. The beds are quite comfortable, and the A/C works great. I left the fan on for white noise and slept really well. The room set up is a bit awkward with two big …
My stay at the Sheraton St. John's was wonderful. The staff were so helpful, the food was fantastic, and the total experience was well worth recommending to others. It is worth noting that the staff were Unifor members, and they excelled in …
Would not recommend at this time. Much better options in the City. Dated and poorly cleaned and stocked rooms.
Reception can be slow. Now you have to pay for parking, and good luck finding any! Good location. Nice hotel and rooms.
We spent 4 lovely days at this hotel while in town attending a wedding and celebrating a special birthday. However booking the room wasn't quite as pleasant. …
We stayed for 3 days - had an issue with our first room which management quickly addressed and the rest of the stay went smoothly. Staff makes you feel welcome and the location of hotel is great for walking. We would definitely come back!
Was wonderful to talk to the event coordinator Tara. She was very professional and friendly. She provided me with all the important information at this time and l look forward to planning my daughter's wedding with her! Thankyou!
Great friendly people staff was very helpful and courteous Good food the bar was nice and relaxing good exercise facilities go visit there I recommend it
My husband and I were attending a convention at the Sheraton this past week and everyone went out of their way to accommodate our needs. We enjoyed our stay to the fullest, great friendly staff and always someone around to help us. Became …
Oppidan restaurant had amazing food and service. The waiter was very knowledgeable about the area and provided us with lovely taste surprises before our main course was served. The dinner was prepared to absolute perfection by Chef Roary. It was a fantastic dining experience!
The location of this hotel is amazing. Great ocean views and close walking to great shops and restaurants. Rooms were clean and spacious. Pool and surrounding lobby area was beautiful.
Great view of Narrows. Clean room and housekeeping went an extra mile as we both had the flu for part of our stay. The restaurant has a lot of competition from excellent choices within close walking distance. Staff in reception, housekeeping and the spa were excellent.
Really good service. Comfortable beds. Decent rooms. One star less because bathroom was a little bit outdated compared to previous hotels I stayed.
This is my second stay at the Sheraton in St.John's. My mom and I stayed there for 2 nights in September as we commenced our 2 week tour of Newfoundland. I returned in October to attend the CSAE conference. There was a mix up with my …
Had a great stay, wonderful room with a view of the narrows! Only marrred by your offer a couple of days prior to arriving of an upgrade to a club room for $5.00 per night or a Jr Suite for $45. I replied promptly that we'd go for the club …
Had an overall excellent stay!
Great staff. From check in to check they look after your needs. Excellent gym for a hotel. Very comfortable beds equals excellent night sleep.
Stayed here March 2020. Entrance newly renovated and bar has been newly renovated. Staff at the bar are friendly, true Newfoundladers. Food / snacks at the bar are very tasty. We had the Brussel sprouts and Sweet potato fries. Great choice. Prices are not cheap but appropriate for the lovely atmosphere.
The staff were amazing and very accommodating to all our needs. We loved our room with the splendid view of the harbour and city.
An old property which is showing its age. The rooms are large and well appointed. The staff are extremely friendly. The service bar and restaurant is mediocre. The food isn't great.
The hotel is right by the harbour so the location is excellent. The rooms are spacious and very clean. The hotel is older so the washroom is more worn and torn but nothing to complain about. We would recommend staying here.
The atrium was absolutely beautiful for a wedding. The food was delicious. Checkin was easy and quick. Room was clean and a good, comfy size. Everyone in the wedding group was charged a different amount so we had to go to the front desk …
Along with hundreds of people, I was stranded in St. John's on the night of May 4th, 2012 as the airport was closed due to fog. The staff of the St. John's Sheraton were supportive, sympathetic, calm, friendly and professional. I especially …
Everywhere and everyone was top drawer quality all the way. In the past 45 days I have been at the hotel for 39 of them. I can't find a negative thing to say. Room, food, pool and hot tub, desk and food staff all go out of their way to make sure I have everything that I need. Thank you for that!
Great stay @ the Sheraton in St Johns. It is going through renovation so I expect it to be even better in the future! Quick check in, the room was ready when we got there early which is always a …
Really enjoyed our stay, Will be back!
this hotel has the friendliest and most involved staff that I have had the pleasure of meeting. The hotel itself is beautiful, clean and in a central area. It was a pleasure to spend 4 days there.
Pro: Good price, great hotel, great staff, clean, great food. We ALWAYS stay here. Con: As a paying guest, you should have parking available in your already TERRIBLE parking lot, especially on weekends. When there is a function/conference/wedding etc...during the weekend, you have to park in the parking lot of another building. Off grounds parking should be allotted to visitors, not PAYING guests staying in the hotel. It's a total pi$$ off.
We had an amazing and relaxing night at the Sheraton and our hostess (Imelda) was so helpful and friendly and her beautiful Labrador “Cabot” really topped of our visit, I think every hotel should have a welcoming dog, what a great asset.
The Sheraton is a great hotel in a great location. Close to all amenities and the staff will go out of their way to help your every need, true to the Newfoundland tradition.
You really can't beat the view from the Harbour View side of the building!
The Sheraton Hotel was comfortable, clean with a friendly atmosphere close to downtown St. John's. The staff were very professional, helpful and friendly.
This hotel is in an ideal location for touring St. John's. Walking distance to George street, Quidi Vidi and Signal hill. Numerous restaurants and cafes close by for breakfast, lunch and supper. Imelda at the concierge desk is an unreal …
Nice hotels and facilities. Bed was comfortable. Great gym. Bar server was really friendly. There was mold around the bathtub in the caulking that I think is unacceptable (room 520). Room was around the corner from the elevators and was a …
We decided to stay in town this May 24th weekend! We checked in early on Friday and later on Saturday. Staff were wonderful. Our daughter loved the pool, it was clean which is super important. Convenient location, we were able to walk …
I went to the Sheraton just to pick up my daughter, only to learn that I needed to get a parking slip upon entering the parking lot, and it was set up in such a way that I couldn't turn around once I arrived at the parking gate. I had no choice but to take the slip so the gate would open. The only good thing was that once my daughter arrived in a few minutes, I was able to drive past the exit gate because there was enough room to the right.
We were situated on the fourth floor. Rooms could use a little updating. Elevators were incredibly slow. Bed was uncomfortable. Other than that, staff was incredible
I had a lovely stay at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland. The hotel room was spacious with a beautiful view and the staff were friendly and helpful. One of the highlights was an invitation to the monthly corporate event where I was treated …
I spend 7-10 nights a year in the hotel. Rooms and beds are excellent. Bathrooms are good, but not exceptional. …
Great rooms, hotel provides bar, restaurant, swimming, fitness, spa, gift shop amenities; close to dt and minutes from anywhere in the city. Cabs are always on hand, staff is so friendly. Typically you can find some sort of event happening within the hotel, or at least nearby!
Just got back from a weather forced extended stay in St. John's. No problem getting a day-to-day extension from the staff; they were very helpful. Rooms were good, cleaned well, etc. …
Enjoyed being in the room as much as out because the view was amazing. Location just steps from downtown area yet far enough to avoid the noise from the streets.
Best seafood chowder I have ever had! Great location for walking downtown. Harbour view is great. …
Very bad experience, all the elevators were not working
Unbeatable view of St. John's bay and downtown. Excellent formal restaurant on-site (Oppidan), in addition to a casual bar/restaurant. What I loved most: hot pool and sauna!
GREAT PLACE TO STAY. PERSONNEL VERY HELPFUL. CLUB ROOM HAS A GREAT SELECTION
Staff are so nice! The gym is on two levels and has a good variety of machines. The location is close to downtown and signal hill is a quick walk away if you use the street
Everything was very clean and the lobby and common spaces are nice and up to date. The bathroom in the room was very small and in need of a update, also, the bed would be better if it was made with a fitted sheet instead of a flat sheet.
Location
Excellent stay at this Sheraton. Room was very clean, comfortable, quiet, and had a nice view of the harbor. The food was above average, though a bit pricy (having said that, all of the surrounding restaurants are not cheap). Parking is way over priced.
Very nice staff at this hotel. The rooms were very clean and I had a nice big bathtub. The bed was very comfortable. The TV was a little slow but I'm not really here to watch TV anyway. Unfortunately my room had a view of the parking lot but the other side of the hotel looked amazing!
Great staff, but old and dated. Bed linens are gross and old
Hotel was ok which is good for newfoundland. There was no housekeeping Friday and satirdays which was in small small print on a paper they gave us when we checked in. However, the desk person said if we advised by 1030am we needed …
Highly recommend this hotel. It was clean, comfortable and service focused. The staff went out of their way to make our stay a pleasure.
I was not too happy with this most recent stay - I asked for a fridge in my room prior to my arrival. I was assured it would be available. Upon check in to my room - there was no fridge in the room. I called the front desk and I was told …
Have to pay for parking and we paid $50 for 1 day.. expensive
Was best kind. The vending machine was wack though.
The staff are 10/10 no doubt about that. The food is deserving of its higher prices. (But still affordable) the room I was in was absolutely spotless overall the full experience was perfect. The staff were super accomadating the entire time I was there and were very respectful. The bartenders always had a story, and the wait staff were very attentive. The food came out in near record times. By far the best place to stay in the city hands down.
