This is specifically for the car wash. Simply put, don't count on having a cleaner car after using it. Did one in August, and tried again in November, and the results were the same: nothing. My car gets cleaner after it rains. When I went in afterwards to ask about why the car wash didn't seem to be working, I was told it was my fault (!!) for not purchasing the most expensive car wash. When I said that I would pay the difference and try again, they told me I would have to purchase it full price.

What a joke. Came to get gas after 10 and the store is locked. They have to serve you from a window. If you want trust your customers then dont even be in business or pay an extra employee. I would have spend money but instead om going elsewhere and not wasting my time. If all shell gas stations did this I would never step foot on shell property again.

Have used this car wash in past for a nice wash. But yesterday's wash was not the best. Windshield still had a film on it after the wash and car was still mostly wet after the 60 secs of dry they allocate. Some maintenance is probably needed to fine tune it.

Car wash is touchless (high pressure water spray) wish you were able to pay at the drive in but you have to go in and load up your card. The spray is okay if you want a quick touch up clean but it won’t fully remove it in detail. They’ve slowly jacked up the prices and May as well go to a proper wash.

This Shell and the one at North Road support front line workers such as myself and we appreciate them . Not all Shell stations do this only the ones that have a posting at the gas pump. This one at Mcbride does. Thanks and kudos to the owner of this station! Thanks to the staff for working there ! December 11, I started filling up.. and the pump was very slow. It took over 15 minutes to fill up on this morning. I thought it very bizarre, I started to time the pump, it was @ 15-16 / litre. 4 litres/minuute. Subsequently, for the next month of filling up, I timed every fill up at 3-4 seconds/litre. Tank full in under 3 minutes This day, I was just shy of quarter tank, which is when I fill up approximately 90% of the time. So, I was surprised when the pump kept going over 50ltr, over 55ltr over 60 ltre, finished at over 62 litres.. My official tank capacity is only 60 litres.. The most I every got in was 55 litres.. after driving on empty, with the light on for over 50 km on hwy hoping for a gas station. Now the owners /managers are saying nothing is wrong with the pump. Shell corporate has been no help as well after 2 phone calls. It's approx 17 litres of Vpower premium gas. about $27. And they are both being cheap. I guess I can let it go and choke it up to lost $$$ but I know I am being honest and something was wrong withthe pump on this occasion. I should add that we having been filling up exclusively at Shell, putting in VPower gas for over a decade now and I have records, receipts.. what a joke if they think after $4000/per car/ year (almost $8K annually) these idiots think I am now choosing to scam them by asking for compensation on this incident. And since the incident we have filled up both cars again at exclusively Shell V-Power gas probably about 10 times. This is what you get from top world corporations. Greed. If you ask why we go to Shell?, because of NO ETHANOL in the VPower gas... to the ownership... if you watched the video as you told corporate, Are you claiming that 15-16 seconds /litre to fill is normal operation for your pumps???? I don't expect anyone to not get Shell gas, but maybe not at this station. I will still use VPower for my car unfortunately. The gas is great and I love my car. BUT These guys LIE and cheat and cannot admit something was wrong with the pump when I filled up. Camera footage will clearly verify that. I will give ownership last chance to make it right and I will delete this post, otherwise it will stay and I can share on FB, other social media as well.

it's a fuel station. not much ore to say about that. BUT, don't use the car wash. not sure what they've done, but the last couple of times I've gotten my truck washed there, it's been really bad. the dryers come on while the system is still washing your vehicle. so, less dry time. and I'm not sure what they did to the washer, but both times my truck went in dirty, came out dirty. so, I'd avoid washing a vehicle there. it's really bad.

Your staff has been really great, prompt friendly service, until today. Your new manager with the pink undercut haircut did not allow me to use my debit card because she claimed "you have to spend $5 before I can accept your debit card". There was no one else in the store and only one car at the pump; it's not like she was run off her feet with huge lineups. The other cashiers have been quite happy to accept my payment when I've used my debit card here every other day for the past year or so. Not good business practice to offend loyal customers.

I live nearby and I usually gaz my car in this gaz station. I saw something that really shocked me today. One of the client was asking to buy a mask because he forgot his mask when he got in the store. His mouth and nose was fully covered with his jacket. He was willing to purchase a mask for safety purposes. But the cashier was very agressive towards the customer and told the customer that the mask is out of stock and to leave the store immediately. To my surprise on the left side of the shelf there was loads of masks in display. The customer then left with astonishment. Another customer saw the whole situation then decided to offer him an extra mask he had in his car. Then the customer proceeded to go back in the store this time with a mask on to validate his lottery. She refused again to serve him and told him to validate it himself no question asked. The customer then ask for a manager and the name of the cashier she refused immediately his request and proceeded to tell him to leave. The cashier left a really bad impression and clearly has no customer relations, no empathy whatsoever. I do understanding in this time of pandemic mask is a must. But to treat a customer that was willing to buy a mask and on top of that he was covered with a material on his face this is a big no-no. Never stepping foot back to this Gaz station and 3 more customer also saw the same situation pretty much sure they wouldn't go back too.

Nothing at all wrong with the gas station. Oak Bay pricing (ie higher than you'll pay elsewhere) but it's a plum location, after all. The attached coin laundromat? 0 stars. Negative stars, if a person could. Dirty. Rusty machines. All large washers out of service, half of small ones (and they are very small) also broken. Same with dryers. Floors and tables dirty. Took my stuff in, left with it all in my arms 30 seconds later to go find a laundromat that is actually working. One shouldn't leave a laundromat feeling dirtier than one did going in. But you will at the Oak Bay Shell.

the auto car wash is the best I’ve ever been to. It’s a touchless one but it cleans up the car real well, super impressed. I had a car that got really dirty due to parking whole day under a sap tree and it cleaned it off no problem. Took my suv the next day and it was not a fluke at all. 10/10

Vehicle was damaged after the "touchless" car wash system struck the front end of my car twice as it went around. Luckily Paint film took the damage but it's a $600 expense to fix. Don't care about the money but the owner has failed take responsibility of his faulty car wash. Hasn't contacted back after I left my information and he said he'd "look into it". Terribly managed and will be pursuing it further through Shell headquarters.

When their gas nozzle got stuck in my truck the owner proceeds to blame their faulty equipment on my fiance. The only reason for two stars is the employee wasn't acting like an a hole. Couldnt believe it when he tried passing blame. Apparently this is not the first time this has happened to some one with this pump. Very upsetting

I hate being that person that complains about customer service as I work in the industry and have dealt with a lot of Karens & Karls - but the person who works the front desk here has atrocious manners. She never acknowledges customers presence, is always talking to someone on her bluetooth/phone device, and just turns around and stares at you until you tell her what you want. There is no "Hi there how can I help you?" or "How are you doing tonight?" it seems like your very presence in the store causes her a great deal of pain as many times she rolls her eyes as if you asked her for the world. I know it's probably not the funnest job in the world, but we are all human beings and should be kind to each-other regardless of the situation. As the old saying goes "treat others as you'd like to be treated"...

No stars from me. Again I stopped for propane thought I would drop the tank then put some gas in my van . Did that and went in to see what was going on with the propane and got told by the guy behind the till"oh you just missed the guy that does the propane by 2 minutes" I was there waiting for at least 5 by the open propane dispenser before I put gas in my van. If you only have one employee that does the propane at least have the courtesy to put up a schedule or a closed for propane sign. This is about the 3rd or 4th time this has happened so I am done with this station.

Great staff! Friendly and helpful. It is a gas station, so I don't expect low prices or restaurant cuisine. The snacks and drinks are there if you need something on the road and the store is clean and bright. Gas pumps are maintained and I feel comfortable getting fuel and shopping here.

For some reason the employees here never want to fill my propane tank. Today the guy behind the counter was so rude he didn't even talk to me. Instead he seen me pull up to propane station at 330pm. He ran over to the window and stuck a sign saying propane closed to the door then went back behind the counter. This is about the 4th time I've been turned down for propane in the middle of the day. Because of the poor service I think I'll stop buying gas here too and just go to the Co-op where they always fill my tank.

My husband and son had a flat tire and asked to use their phone to call someone to come change it. They refused. Stopped here last night to rinse off my vehicle. Just needed to exchange coins for a loonie. The worker was in laundry area cleaning. The sign at front door said back in 5 mins. So I waited and he came at door of laundromat and seen me standing there waiting. Was more than 5 minutes. As he unlocked the store door I waited until he put his cleaning supplies before I entered. I said I need to change coins for a loonie. Not even a hi or sorry for the wait. This attendant wasn't the friendliest. I would rather go to a different car wash next time. Rather than being unfriendly back , and saying something. I just bit my tongue and walked out after I got a loonie. About a month before the same worker had door locked again. He was standing at the atm taking out a bunch of receipts. He didn't even say hi or anything this time too. Just seemed strange he was taking out receipt after receipt after receipt.

Contrary to some reviews here, a quick google maps search will show you that this Shell generally has the lowest prices in the area. My car requires premium and Shell Canada V-Power is always 100% ethanol free. Car wash here also is decent.

Customer service with the woman is great they always have a smile and do their job right. Not hating against men but they are always rude. Never smile. Start talking in another language as they were dealing with me every time. I have no idea what they were saying as I don’t speak their language, but it is not to be tolerated as I worked customer service for years and know how it should be done. I didn’t want to write a review. But this has happened countless times. I would come in with a positive attitude and try to be nice as it is a hard time for all right now. I always get the same rude glares and disrespect. Some people there need a serious talking to and probably find a new career as it is very clear customer service is not for you.

It is not very good customer service when your price tages on items do not accurately reflect what the items are actually worth... Some of the items were even mis labelled by a couple dollars.. Never again will i go here

Some Indian girl who has worked there for a year-ish now (works the front desk). Never says a word when you check out, just stairs at you with the creepiest eyes. Seems as though she hates her life, but don't blame her. $10 an hour working at a gas station....jeez

If your car needs Silver or Gold gas, go elsewhere! They suck you in by having one of the lowest prices for regular (bronze) gas but they are consistently higher than Esso, Husky, Petro Canada or Chevron. I have checked all four gas stations on the same day to cost compare and there's no doubt, Shell gouges you on premium gas by as much as 5 cents more than others. On a 40 litre fill, that's $2 more you put in their pockets. The only way they'll change is if enough people take their business elsewhere.

Very bad experience. Stopped at the pump with my 10 year old. She needed wasroom. The person on counter was busy on phone and when I requested he got annoyed and told me no washrooms when I asked him how come he said they are out of order for you and laughed. Told me to find a bush. So sad. Very bad service

Both squeegee outside were empty with no fluid in them. Mens bathroom was scary with duct tape holding the toilet together, paper towel on the counter because the holder was broken, graffiti on the walls, and I've seen broom closets bigge lol

NEVER USE THE LAUNDRY MAT. It ruined $600 worth of clothing and bedding. Had no ownership for their expensive washer and dryer that ruins your clothes. I wish I could give this place a big fat Zero

Check your receipts. Been double charged for items on a few occasions. Bought one cylinder of propane this week, buddy charged me for two because he saw me pick up two! I put one back even before going to the checkout.
