We purchased all our appliances from Courtenay Appliances when we built our first home 6 years ago, and again this summer building another home. Our experience has been excellent both times, everyone of the staff are helpful, extremely knowledgeable and professional. The showroom is beautiful, and bigger than it used to be so we really enjoyed browsing and admiring all the gorgeous appliances and we fell in love with the Hestan range and BBQ. On the wish list for our next build.

I am always greeted with a friendly hello and a smile. They take the time to answer all my questions I may have regardless of how busy they are with other clients. All the items I have purchased from Courtenay Appliances have far exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend everyone stop in and see the Team at Courtenay Appliances for all your big or small appliance needs.

Tried three times to purchase appliances there. First time was a gas range. All products that I was interested in were back ordered (not their fault) but what was apparent was how little the sales people actually knew about the features of some very expensive products. Also getting pricing seemed to be some arcane process of looking in a binder, checking various websites and conferring with colleagues. None of it left me feeling they knew what was going on. However we like to try and support local business. Second time was for an expensive dishwasher. They actually didn't have to do anything except take my order as I told them the exact model number I wanted. Happy to take my order and was told that delivery would be in another two weeks and they would call if there were any problems. Two weeks later I call for a delivery update and the dishwasher was back ordered from day one and delivery would be another month at least??? Not impressed and the order was cancelled. Finally went in to buy a wine fridge. Was shown one fridge only and the sales person could not figure out how to change the temp on it, I had to show her how and was then told the fridge was about $1100.00. Well when we go to get some further details the prices was actually $2,500! Was told that built in wine fridges are very hard to find for under $2,000 which is complete fabrication. Just do a Google search....they are everywhere. Again they knew nothing about the products they were selling. So that was it. Again, we try to buy local and support the "specialty" store, but for that I would expect some level of higher service. This store has no stock so everything is ordered (fine...I'll wait for a bit to support them), but they also have no knowledge of their products, the pricing of the products they carry, nor do they follow up like promised. Buying local is a two way street. I'll pay a bit more and I'll put up with a bit more, but for that I expect knowledge, support and service. After all that is why you buy local. Unfortunately this store offered none of that and I would recommend you can get the same service and probably better delivery at a big box appliance store. I hope they improve the local experience.

We bought a full set of appliances; and received very poor advice about features or fit in our new kitchen. Stove was designed for a different sized counter, we were not told about the stove fan noise and the stove was mis-wired, we wanted to send it back but no luck. The fridge did not fit the opening designed for it and a second one needed to be purchased, again returns not accepted. The reply a month after the post rings hollow, as there were store visits, and numerous phone calls: at the time the stove had to be rewired, when the fridge didn't fit, new fridge, and about the mis-sized stove. Although our numbers and email are on file at the store, no contact has been made. The delivery guys gave us more info than we got from the store!

We've had great experiences with Courtenay Appliances. We bought a wall oven from Chantel and were very happy with the information provided about the ovens we were interested in. The sales staff were all excellent and were very patient with our questions. The oven came in faster than expected which was a huge surprise to us. Courtenay Appliances was extremely responsive about a minor issue we had with our oven. One of the trim pieces had a small ripple/flaw in it from the manufacturing process. We had a service technician here the day after we called Courtenay Appliances about it and the part was replaced quickly at no cost to us. There were ZERO problems getting that issue resolved. My In-Laws built a house on our property this summer and they purchased 6 new appliances from Courtenay Appliances. My In-Law's were also extremely happy with the knowledge, support and service they received and would absolutely buy again from Courtenay Appliances. I'm an electrician (Comox Valley Electric) and have referred many of my construction clients to Courtenay Appliances because I know they will be treated well. It's my pleasure to give an honest, well-deserved, positive endorsement of Courtenay Appliances!
