Bought a very expensive box spring & mattress back some years ago and after a short while (one year) the box the box spring started falling apart, called them on it different times with no reply, the mattress started to deform shortly after that and after going in they gave us the run around. Bought a 1700 dollar piece of garbage with a pretend 10 year warranty. Never again.

Buying from and supporting locally owned business is a priority for me when deciding where to make purchases. The staff and ownership here is amazing and very helpful. They set up your new unit and take away the old. Having someone to call if there is a problem with you new appliances is also very helpful!!

Went in in December to order filters for a microwave range hood. Spoke to Carmen who told me the serial number I had could be slightly different (great product knowledge). I called back with another number and he told me it would be ordered right away. Today (May 13th), I called to check on the order. Was told there was no record of the order being placed. They didn't seem to give a damn and didn't even ask if I wanted to have the order placed - for real this time. I will never shop there for anything in the future.

My husband and I bought three beds fridge stove microwave dishwasher washer and dryer in one go so needless to say spent a lot of money!! When after only a couple months our box spring broke it took weeks to get any answer about it and more time to arrange for a replacement . Customer care is really non existent. our box spring broke again and I do not want to deal with them so I will buy somewhere else.

Ordered a fridge from them on June 25 instead of Best Buy because Best Buy said fridge would not be in till probably Sept 1. Same fridge was more expensive here at this local appliance dealer BUT they said it most likely will be in by end of July so I paid more to get it earlier and I made that clear to them!!! (Even though their website says they price match) Two weeks later after the promised time of arrival, I made a follow-up as to the whereabouts of my fridge, and I was told no, it was back-ordered until the end of July. When I said it looks like I should have just ordered from Best Buy and saved, she then said they all order from SAME place which she never said when I initially ordered. She then abruptly said they will call me when it comes in. False promises and so pompous!???? Long story short: go to Best Buy and save!

After having a bad experience elsewhere getting a fridge delivered, several people recommended this business. What a great experience this was. Picked out the fridge one day, it was delivered to us next day. No additional charges. Customer service was superb. The two delivery men were so careful, knowledgeable and helpful they were the icing on the cake. We will buy from this company again. No more big box store fiasco deliveries for us.

My washer broke down... I called an Island owned store this morning and asked about getting it fixed. The older gentleman who answered was rude, blunt, and not at all helpful, to say the least. He asked me the "serial # of my washer" and I explained I was at work and didn't know but would check and call back as soon as I got home. He wouldn't give me an appointment but did finally told me it could be tomorrow but he was unsure of time. I asked if he would know better when I called back in the afternoon and he said,"yes". I called as soon as I got home and got another less interested man answered this time. He respouned like didn't know what I was talking about so I had to go through my tale again.He asked me the serial # of my washer and I couldn't find it. I asked "where was it" and got a big sigh and a blunt answer. I still couldn't find it and he was unimpressed and I could really tell by his "tone". He was equally as rude so I asked his name. He seemed to know enough to answer "it wasn't me you were talking to this morning". I asked again his name. I got "Collin". He wouldn't give me an appointment time but basicly said "my Boss said it's tomorrow but we don't know when. You will get a call in the morning giving you an idea." I got a bad feeling, really didn't feel listened to or respected so I said, "you know what, no. I really don't like how this conversation was handled. I will put this on hold. I will get back to You. " He didn't answer, just hung up on me. Wow.

Poor service all around so far. Waiting a week for someone to come look at our almost NEW appliance that we paid EXTRA money for an extended warranty is unacceptable. Service department was very rude on the phone. I'll be taking my business elsewhere from now on.

Very disappointing. Poor after service. It is always easy for them to sell your things, because you paying money. Once you have issues, they are not look after you even you purchased so many things from them. We have few tenants washing machine does not working, complete broken, Me, my site manager, Contractor contact them several times, same answer, due to Covid-19, no maintenance guy can go fix it. Well, if that the case, why you guys still open the business selling things, and not look after the AFTER SERVICE. And those washing machine still under warranty. Please stand on other persons's shoes think this whole thing, if you have broken washing machine sit there for a month and not able to wash your cloth, what you gonna do? If you are not ready for your business, then do not OPEN, shut down, because this is really not make sense to me at all. Just selling things and do not care AFTER SERVICE ?

We bought a stove, dishwasher and a fridge from MacArthur's a couple of months ago because we heard they were the best company to rely on for warranty. We had a problem with our new induction stove and they went above and beyond to make sure what happened at the factory was corrected. We are extremely pleased with the way they stand behind their products and follow through with their warranty. Five years ago we did not go with MacArthurs with the appliances we bought and learnt our lesson the hard way. This time we went with them and got the five year warranty:)

Didn’t want to sell me a dryer belt because I didn’t have a model number though I had specific dimensions. Dryer belts are pretty generic and I knew what I was looking for. Still refused to sell me a belt. A business that doesn’t want to sell products is ridiculous. Don’t waste your time buying local from this bunch. Buy online and save yourself a headache and 50% money.

Bought a part for the dryer went to return it and was told it was special order and no returns. this is a part that fits many brands. I was told that all most all of they parts are special order. So with no return policy, you can buy parts from NB or NS at better prices.

Service far outpacing the big box stores. However, I would like to see prices listed on their website, it just makes the purchasing process much easier and less time consuming. I prefer to spend my money locally and will continue to use MacArthurs as long as their pricing is competitive.

Very disappointed in this appliance retailer. Bought several thousand dollars worth of kitchen and laundry appliances four years ago and have needed service/repairs on two occasions. On the first attempt the “service” rep tried to convince me that the grinding noises my wife and I heard coming from our dryer were completely in our imagination. Since then at least 7 other family members and friends have “ imagined” the same grinding noise. In the second attempt at a service call for an inoperative range hood we were told that MacArthurs ( an authorized service outlet) only service some parts of a Broan range hood and that we were out of luck. They didn’t ask whether we were still under warranty only that we should call someone else to look into the repair. I’ll do exactly that and will also look into another retailer to purchase our next appliances.

We had great service at MacArthur Appliances and Mattress Gallery. Went in to buy 2 beds, different sizes. Tara helped us out so much to get just the right kind we were looking for . Had them delivered on the right date and before we expected in the day, which was great for us as we had so much going on with our move to our new home, gave us the rest of our day to get a lot done . Carmen and 1 of his staff were in to set up the 2 beds for us and out the door before we knew it. Such wonderful speedy service. Definitely recommend MacArthur's ! Oh , and a big shout out to my "fairy godmother " who gifted us with one of our beds.... thank you so very much !!

Terrible service, got a dishwasher in the winter and didn't work since it was frozen, after it thawed out the next day it was super loud compared to my uncle who had the exact same one. Had 2 service calls to fix a grinding issue and the guy came, claimed he fixed it and darted out the door without explaining the issue but instead sending us a bill of $115 even though it is under warranty. After spending several thousand dollars, this is the kind of service we get.

Awful experience. Besides the scarry looking pitbul that was walking with the employee (taking one at a time through the show room due to covid-19 restrictions) the attitude of staff is appauling and the bottle neck of more than half a dozen people confine to the small vestibule at the door is beyond a violation of social distancing. Would be way safer to have everyone in the showroom keeping their distance.... absolutely NEVER GOING BACK!

I purchased a dishwasher from MacArthur's several years ago. The store staff were wonderfully helpful explaining the various models. I've also had service help from MacArthur's on appliances that came with the house I purchased, and the technician each time was great at diagnosing and fixing the problem, very friendly, and the rates were very reasonable. We're so lucky to have this local appliance store in Charlottetown!

This is a business I now actively avoid. Used to buy appliance parts there, but over-priced and long wait. I go elsewhere.But when they charge my credit card before I have agreed to the time & quality of service, I draw the line. A real money grab $200+ for an appliance repair call only to tell me the wires melted. I knew that already.

Talk about one stop shopping! Reasonable prices, huge selection, delivery and installation of your new appliance, and removal of your old appliance all included in your price. You might see advertised prices lower at other stores, but then you have the hassle and cost of delivery, installation, and removal of your old unit. Add those costs in and you'll find their price wasn't as good as it looked. Friendly, efficient staff, including the gents doing the delivery! We just won't shop anywhere else for our appliances!

My wife Susan and I were shopping for a dishwasher late last week. We had not decided on a deal and then on Tuesday evening we realized that our fridge was suddenly not cooling anymore. So on Wednesday morning we stopped in to MacArthurs now looking for both a dishwasher and a refrigerator. Tara was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and we agreed on both machines but put a delivery stipulation added to the deal that we really needed fridge today. No problem. By noon the truck arrived with our appliances and were completely installed by 1:45. The delivery and install staff were also courteous taking great care to do job quickly and efficiently. Thank you for a job well done

I would not recommend anybody buy here! After 3 years my dryer broke I called them to fix it couldn’t come out until Thursday ( this was a Friday) Yes we live remote but we are only 20 mins from Charlottetown not in the middle of Newfoundland. The guy came out said he fixed it my husband said he was hurrying to get all his jobs done for the day. First load we put in gave a load bang and smelled burning. We unplugged it called them on Friday, told them we pay $150 for parts and service and it is still broken, can you send someone back. No we don’t go out your way and next week with Easter is a short week so I doubt if we will make it there then. I said so when will a person be out oh we will call you night before ! So is that this week, next week, next month! I said so I guess I am going to do my laundry at laundrymat “ I guess so have a nice day “ So 3 weeks later my dryer is still broken we are out $150. Absolutely terrible customer service! I give them a -15 for her customer service attitude! Avoid, avoid, avoid ! ! E
