Buy one get one frozen root beer was not available in small size. Went in for a dive through, after I payed through tap, was told to then park for curbside and wait. Took 10 minutes for just 2 frozen root beer.

After waiting an interminable length of time in the drive through line up where food was very slow coming out, my husband finally got to the window to place his order. It took much too long to get the food. He checked the receipt taped to the bag to ensure everything he ordered was on the list. When he got home, we discovered that the food inside the bag was not our order. My husband had to return to the restaurant to get our order which was cold by this point. Not even so much as an apology by the employees! The worst customer service ever.

Just tried the beyond meat burger. If I didn't know better, I could have been fooled to think it was meat. As a fan of all things beef, this was a fantastic mock burger. The bun in this sandwich got a little burned on one part. Excellent staff and service though.

A&W is on of the best fast food chains in Canada (their breakfast is underrated also) and I've never had a bad experience at this location. Super professional, always friendly, order is always correct and the food is as good as it gets for mainstream fast food. Keep up the great work. Plus, if you're on keto, this is the only major chain to offer lettuce wraps, and they're brilliant.

I went to the drive-thru for the first time here yesterday. The food was hot and it tasted good when I got to it but the wait was unacceptable. They had the order for the car behind me completely ready by the time I got my food. I would say I was at the window for just over 5 minutes after ordering. They also tried to give me the wrong order several times. Definitely not what I expect from A&W

Just went through the drive through, and someone was standing in the back doorway smoking. They weren't even outside with the door closed. They were standing in the building just blowing the smoke outside. As a non smoker, I find this a bit disgusting. I don't care that they smoke, just do it outside and not around my food.

Absolutely the worst a&w around... super slow, cold food, never get an order right. Parking every car in the drive through to make it look like their lead times are acceptable. Save yourself the frustration and disappointment and drive to the douglas location or any other fast food joint.

Drive thru was a terrible experience we had completed saying our order and I said no Tomatoes after and the lady taking the order got upset and said I have to say that first so its not complicated I've worked at McDonald's for 2 years i know its not a big deal to remove something the customer doesn't like and was rude and didn't give is our total, after we proceed to the window the worker doesn't make any eye contact and doesn't say how much it is and didn't say anything to us didn't clarify our order or drinks just handed them out and walked away

Today my food was not good. I used to be a supervisor at an A&W in Calgary so I know what the food should look like!! There was lettuce with bad edges on it,tomato piece was not looking good and too much in the way of condiments!! Also,there was no one on site that could open the safe for change. Front end-person complained about it numerous times. Screw up by the scheduler. All dinning room tables were dirty too. Glass doors going it and out are also FILTHY!!! The parking lot is also filthy. If you are going to have a free standing store it is a good idea to keep it vleab

If you need a fast food breakfast, can't beat a@w for that type of food/price point. The Esquimalt location is the best locally. Looks newly renovated, and the food was nicely put together. Staff were friendly but a bit disorganized (so many people but not efficient service)

Go here for breakfast often, great omelettes and love the real breakfast choices. Especially the fresh creacked eggs. Overall better than most fast food options. Sometimes a wait during busy times, and hit or miss service during rush times.

Quite expensive for fast food, but as far as that goes it's ok-ish as long as you're not expecting gourmet. If you have limited choices and eat there you can sometimes find coupons online to save you a few $.

Supremely disappointed to say I will not be going back to this location again. I have been coming to the Esqumalt location since I was kid. And it was a special place to bring my kids and now young nephew. After the way I was treated by the drive thru staff tonight, it was the final straw. The service was absolutely revolting. I have had terrible service before here but just moved on so my nephew and I could still have a special place to go. Tonight's service was gross. Hopefully the management team can invest in some time into customer service training or at least guidance in some manners and common sense.

came here during the day and the owner/manger working the window was visibly intoxicated and smelled of alcohol. Decided to give it another shot tonight but left after waiting for 15 minutes at the drive through with no service.

Got a Beyond meat burger. Waited 15 mins for it, as they weren't cooking them. New equipment in house. Employees complained about everything all the while I was there. Person who seemed to be the supervisor was very loud about criticizing his staff. Burger a little undercooked, but edible.

It's not often that I'll leave a review for a fast food place but I feel like this particular a&w deserves a review. First I'd like to say that I've had better service at this place than I've had at some restaurants here in Victoria. The staff are extremely friendly and just great. I've been there dozens of times and they have never gotten my order wrong. The cashiers at this location all deserve a raise. It's so great that if I'm going to get fast food this is the only restaurant I'll visit.

Terrible Overcharge Then serve cold food (patty was cold as hell) Then when asked for refund the employee used his bare hands to reach into our bag and play with the food then began to deal with cash and such immediately. No washing hands no gloves

The girl with shorter yellow died hair completely ruined our experience here. She was having a hissy fit in front of customers and refused to hand out people's food, instead leaving many orders in the heating tray while everyone stood waiting. When another employee (short purple hair) tried to get people their food, the other girl wouldn't let her and started having a full on temper tantrum right at the register. Absolutely unacceptable behaviour. We left then, as we knew our food and experience would be horrible.

Cold burgers, no apology, incomplete refund. I'm pregnant and was desperately craving a strawberry milkshake and onion rings so my husband took me to A&W for dinner. We got to the drive through and ordered and they told me no milkshake but whatever ????????‍♀️. Then they charged us 26$ for two burgers, some fries, and onion rings. We paid up, cuz I was desperado. We get home maybe 2 minutes later and the burger patties are stone cold. Like the buns were warmer than the patties. My husband took us back to get a refund or new burgers made. The guy had seen us literally 5 minutes prior and asked for a receipt after we told him how much we paid down to the cent, and my husband handed him the bag to see for himself. Guy reaches in without washing his hands prior or after to our knowledge, argues with us about it, and then gives us the incorrect change back (which he also argued with us about???). Then he also didn't hand the food back, so I was now incredibly hormonally sad about no onion rings. Anyway, we went to McDonald's down the street and got burgers and milkshakes for way less, and it was hot! It's almost like they train their employees! Never thought I'd prefer McDonald's to A&W.

Bought a Canadian bacon sauaage and pancakes with hash brown meal this morning. The toast it came with was so black and disgusting it wasnt even edible. I will NOT be going back and ill let all my friends know aa i took a picture of the disgusting toast. Actually sickens me that they would let this go out the window.

Great work A&W with your breakfast. We had coupons and I convinced my husband to try it and he was reclutant as he thought that McDs was the better choice but we were both pleasantly surprised!! A&W’s breakfast, especially their hash brown is WAY better than the competition!!! Way to go!! Service was very cheery and accommodating as well! Thank you for a great start to our weekend and our road trip!

Quick and the order was correct. I learned that pop refills are free. If you eat in and don't finish your pop, the staff will put your drink in to go cup and top it up for you too.

heading to esquimalt so thought I'd grab the fam an old fav, stood in practicly empty place with 2 drive thru workers and no front one to be found, neither of these workers said a word to me for about 8 min and I'm litterally right in front of them, they talked amongst themselves while standing at the food bin waiting for drive-thru orders. finally she comes over stands at the till and says "yes" lol placed my order and paid and then i realised she messed up and she had to add the rest.. it was a a combo and 1 other item but I could tell she wasent really listening so it was bound to happen. no smiles no greeting 16 min later I got half my food, chaced them down for the rest and my drink and would have all been a forgotten moment but when I got home the onion rings were so burnt there was no onions left in them, they disintegrated lol fries were dried out and unedible (sitting somewhere obviously a long time or overcooked) the burger bun was soaked in Grease or liquid of some kind and I mean soaked like it was dipped in water. top it off it was great seeing them grab the tops of the fries and rings and pop them in the bag, most of their palm was litterally on my food. anyways the dog got the patty and the rest was garbage so I wasted over 25 to learn not to go there again. short staffed sure and no smiles I can handle but I still paid for the food so if you use staffing as an excuse for bad product then shut down until u can do it right. root beer was great as always!!

I usually like A&W food so if I have to choose fast food this is where I would rather go. This particular location has been closed for renovations for a little while but as soon as it reopened we stopped in for breakfast. Outside looked a little too space-agey, like they were trying to channel the Jetsons, but in sharp angles and nerve-jangling colour contrasts. Inside was better. Same old style but the dark steakhouse look has been replaced with brighter, cleaner colours. The food was as I've come to expect. No frills, cooked to order, with quick and friendly service. If anything the food tasted better in the new surroundings! Maybe the new colour palette (inside) had something to do with that. Anyway I'm glad you're back A&W!

What I witnessed is opposite to that only smart people are Michelle, Sherry, Selena, David, Dedre, and other older manager. Food is great and customer service is phenomenal until now.
