Went to pick up some plywood and 2x3x8 for a shelving project in the garage. I entered with my car in the 'cours a bois'. It is not about the quality of their products or the knowledge of their employees but my rating is about the way they treat their customers. I was there to by some paints for my living room. Right after paying for the paints at the checkout one of the paint buckets inadvertently fell from the cart and splashed ob the floor! It was such a big mess!...there were people in the line behind me with paint on their legs and shoes...there was big mass of paint spreading on the floor... for a while i didn’t know how to react...I was shocked... but Rona people handled the situation perfectly...before even I know they took care of the other affected customers with arranging for reimbursing the cost of paint removal... somebody quickly fetched a replacement bucket of paint in place of the one that was waisted and in parallel two others guys started cleaning the floor and all along every single person involved was performing so professionally and gracefully. It was an accident and it was nobody’s fault and in a big store such event happen frequently but for me this was a semi-crisis that thanks to Rona was handled and wrapped up in 15 minuets!

Inquired about a special order on a Saturday in plumbing. Said they would check on Monday and they would call us back. On Tuesday they hadn't called so I called back, asked for the plumbing department and got an answering machine. I left a polite message to call me back. Next Monday still no news from them. I called back and pressed "0" for customer service only to get another answering machine, twice. We we got an estimate for a kitchen and flooring a few weeks before it was about the same treatment. Late call back and they kept being confused because we asked for both floor and kitchen. When we were calling for follow ups they were always confused. Our experience in store wasn't much better. One "expert" in the electrical department was unable to give me proper information on a product. I realized he actually gave me false information after I googled the product. If we couldn't find something and asked for help we either got: "It's not my department. Find someone from this department." or "If it's not there, we're out.". In both cases employees would quickly walk away. Despite all that we still both most of our paint, lighting and electrical supplies there. The cashier was friendly and efficient, but her supervisor kept pushing her to go on break despite the large bill we had. At this point I jumped in to save that poor little cashier and told her supervisor: "It's my fault she's not on break. I have a large bill. I'm truly sorry I'm buying 2000$ worth of product at your store". I should have added: "I can go shopping somewhere else if you prefer".

Hot Water Tank installed by Rona's sub-contractor (Plomberie Jet d'eau) The guys said our floor drain was blocked (couldn't drain the tank water) and needed to call a plumber ASAP (bc their company didn't do any unblocking). Called another plumbing company and said we had NO problems. Paid the other company 165$ for nothing!!! A week after placing my order, I received a call from RONA telling me that the washer would not be delivered and that they did not know when they would have it in stock. They then offered to drop by the store for a refund on the washer. I wondered if they realized that I had ordered a washer and dryer together and what they thought I was going to do with a dryer without a washer. So I went to the store and when I saw the person who had helped me a few days earlier, I was happy thinking that he was going to help me again. I explained the situation to her and there she just told me that she could reimburse me for the washer. Surprised by this answer, I asked him if we could not do something else like choosing another set. And there she said word for word "You can make a choice but I do not give you a delivery date because you customers complain too much and I am tired" I made her understand that her reaction was a little unusual and that she didn't need to do that. There she told me to stop arguing with her or she wouldn't do business with me and I wouldn't have a washer. I said to myself, this girl must think that only RONA sells electrons in Quebec. Finally after a few moments, she calmed down and went to see which models of washer-dryer were in stock. There was just one and he was so ugly. I could hardly understand that their store had lots of models on sale and only one in stock and for the others, she could not promise any possible delivery date, you just had to order and pray. I was so pissed off that I told her to cancel my entire order, washer, dryer, fridge, and stove. Something she did and just before I left, she said "sorry". I thought, well, it would have been so much easier if you had started there. And from there I went to Germain Larrivière where the service was impeccable. Elle m'a donné plein d'infos et j'étais ravi avec son service. Ma livraison pour tous les électrons était prévue pour 2 semaines plus tard. Une semaine après avoir fait ma commande, j'ai reçu un appel de RONA me disant que la laveuse ne serait pas livrée et qu'ils ne savaient pas quand ils l'auraient en stock. Ils m'ont alors offert de passer en magasin pour avoir un remboursement sur la laveuse. Je me demandais s’ils s'étaient rendus compte que j'avais commandé une laveuse et une sécheuse ensemble et que pensaient-ils que j'allais faire avec une sécheuse sans laveuse. Je me suis donc rendu au magasin et quand j'ai vu la personne qui m'avait aidé quelques jours plus tôt, j'étais content pensant qu'elle allait m'aider encore. Je lui ai expliqué la situation et là elle m'a juste dit qu'elle pouvait me rembourser pour la laveuse. Surpris de cette réponse, je lui ai demandé si on ne pouvait pas faire autre chose comme choisir un autre set. Et là, elle m'a dit mot pour mot " Vous pouvez faire un choix mais je ne vous donne aucune date de livraison parce que vous les clients vous plaignez trop et je suis tanné" Je lui ai fait comprendre que sa réaction était un peu inhabituelle et qu’elle n’avait pas besoin d’agir de la sorte. Là elle m'a dit d’arrêter de me chicaner avec elle sinon elle ne ferait pas affaire avec moi et je n’aurais pas de laveuse. Je me disais, cette fille doit penser que seulement RONA vend des électrons au Québec. Finalement après quelques moments, elle s'est calmée puis est allée voir quels modelés de laveuse sécheuse était en stock. Il y en avait juste et il était tellement moche. J'avais du mal à comprendre que leur magasin avait plein de modèle en vente et seulement un en stock et pour les autres, elle ne pouvait promettre aucune date de livraison possible, il fallait juste commander et prier. J'étais tellement énervé que je lui ai dit d'annuler toute ma commande, laveuse, sécheuse, frigo, et le poêle. Chose qu'elle a faite et juste avant que je parte, elle m'a dit "désolée". Je me disais ben ça aurait été tellement plus simple si tu avais commencé par là. Et de là je suis parti à Germain Larrivière ou le service était impeccable.

I've never price shopped, so I cannot say but the light bulb selection and pricing is definitely better here. Please note that that the European type light bulbs are not plentiful here. Worst costumer service ever! I ordered and paid online to pick up some garden material, I received the confirmation that my order is ready on Sunday. I went to pick it up on Monday, keep in mind the order is for pick up and already paid for so it should be easy in easy out! I arrived at 4:30 pm with my bf, stood in line gave my number and asked to have one of my items (2”x4”x8’) saw in half. The girl was all lost she can’t find my receipt or know where my order is, after 30 min she calls someone to redo the order, 30 min in the chase with the guy picking the items, he remembers that he did this order YESTERDAY, than he finds it in a random corner and bring it to the same first girl and than I look at the items and half of them are not the right product and not the right size! (2 of the items were replaced by a cheaper similar item, I pointed it out this and the guy said oh well we are out of the brown item you picked) no refund mention they are just deciding on my behalf ... At this point I have spent almost 1 hr 30 min (5:30 pm) chasing after the workers, now the girl assigns another guy to help correct my order and he asked me what is not correct I showed him the items and midway through me showing him the stuff another worker start talking to him about an outing... and than I told him I need my 2”x4”x8’ sawn and he said that won’t happen the saw shop closes after 5pm... I left, without my items very very veryyyyy bad service!!! Headless chickens running all over this place. Never been that angry and disrespected as much as I did today.
